What is happening to the weather these days? We have never seen such a bad winter, and it is extending into Spring. There are snow storms all across America, Britain, Europe and Russia. Here in the  south of Spain we have missed most of the bad weather, although we have had it cold and strong winds.

gw-images-extreme-weather-cars-covered-in-snow

In the north of Spain we have had snow and icy temperatures but it has not spread south. In America and Britain we have had snow storms and traffic has all but stopped. Some drivers have braved the weather, but often get stuck in the snow. In the future we will see massive floods across America and Britain as the snow melts.

In other parts of the world, especially in the Far East, there have been massive floods and damage to houses caused by storms. What is our world coming to?

Its all to do with the contamination of the atmosphere by cars and factories. We have to stop this or the weather will get worse. The summer temperatures are climbing steadily, and they will get hotter year on year. Last year we had temperatures as high as thirty five degrees last summer in Spain, and it will get hotter this year as the contamination of the atmosphere gets worse.

Industrial Air Contamination

This is all across the world as the temperatures rise. In the Middle East the temperatures are the highest ever recorded, and as summer approaches it will get hotter.

We have to do something about it or the world will will become a furnace. We have to get rid of cars on our roads and the factories will have to stop putting poisonous smoke into the atmosphere. Unless something is done very soon we will be living in a treacherous world. Governments will have to take some drastic action to stop this contamination of the atmosphere otherwise we will be be living in hell!

The Weather

Never in human history have we seen weather like this winter. Floods have wrecked huge areas of the United States and its getting worse. We see flooding and high temperatures in many countries across the world, and it will not stop because of the contamination of our atmosphere.

In Britain we have a winter that is hardly credible, with snow and cold beating all previous years, and Spring is almost upon us. I would not like to live in England at this time for it is so cold, and the coming of snowstorms is on the horizon.

All across the world the weather is getting worse year on year, and it is all due to the contamination we pump into the atmosphere from cars, trucks and factories. Never in human history, except for the ice age, have we seen such bad weather.

The summers are getting hotter and hotter, with temperatures up close to the fifties in some areas. How will humans survive in this weather? I am glad I am 75 and will not be around to see the future.

In places like Africa people are dying from starvation and the excessive heat in their thousands, and we do nothing about it. Soon this will be in many countries as the temperatures increase. Africa was a country that people can grow crops and feed themselves, but now it it is a wasteland due to the heat.

It is a sad fact that we are destroying our world with so many cars and lorries on the roads. They pump out poisonous gases that are effecting our climate and we are not doing anything about it. There is the prospect of electric cars which will reduce the poisonous gases getting into the atmosphere, but that is a long time away. Once these have been introduced it will take years for the contamination to clear from the skies, if it ever does.

We have to do something to save our planet and soon, for in a few years it will be too late, and we will all start dying from the contamination. It is time for people to realise what is happening to our world and do something about it.

Saudi Cleric Bans Snowmen.

Posted in America, Britain, Canada, Environment, Europe, Insanity, Muslim, News, Religion, Saudi Arabia with tags , , , , on 13/01/2015 by floroy1942

A Saudi Arabian religious cleric has banned the building of a snowman in the wintry north because it “promotes ‘lustiness’ and eroticism.” All I can say is if you tried making love to a snowman you will most likely get frostbite in your nether regions.

No Snowmen or Women

No Snowmen or Women

The prominent Saudi Arabian cleric, Sheikh Mohammed Saleh al-Munajjid, when asked on a religious website if it was permissible to build a snowman replied, “It is not permitted to make a statue out of snow, even by way of play and fun.” He said that to build a snowman was to create an image of a human being, and this action was considered sinful under strict Sunni religious law.

He wrote, “God has given people space to make whatever they want which does not have a soul, including trees, ships, fruits, buildings and so on.”

Snowman For Women

Snowman For Women – Lust Lust!

Needless to say, the ruling did not go down well with some followers who poked fun at it. One posted a photo of a man in formal Arab garb holding the arm of a “snow bride” wearing a bra and lipstick. “The reason for the ban is fear of sedition,” he wrote. Another complained, “People are looking for a fatwa (religious ruling) for everything in their lives, and clerics want to interfere in everything in the lives of others through a fatwa.”

Snow woman For Men

Snow Woman For Men – OOO – Baby!

He did however have his supporters, one of whom wrote, “May God preserve the scholars, for they enjoy sharp vision and recognise matters that even Satan does not think about.”

I guess its a case of ‘different strokes for different folks’.

Time For A Laugh

Posted in America, Australia, Britain, Canada, Europe, Germany, News, Senior Citizen, UK, USA with tags , , , , on 31/10/2014 by floroy1942

Life is what you make it, and to have a good laugh now and then does you good.

Financial Planning

Dan was a single guy living at home with his single father and working in the family business. When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father dies, he decided he needed to find a wife with whom to share his fortune.

One evening, at an investment meeting, he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away.
“I may look like just an ordinary guy,” he said to her, “but in just a few years, my father will die and I will inherit £200 million.”
Impressed, the woman asked for his business card and three days later, she became his stepmother.

Women are so much better at financial planning than men!

 A Winter Tale

On a bitterly cold winter morning a husband and wife were listening to the radio during breakfast. They heard the announcer say, “We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the snow ploughs can get through”. So the wife went out and moved their car.

A week later while they are eating breakfast again, the radio announcer said, “We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street, so the snow ploughs can get through”. The wife went out and moved their car again.

The next week they are again having breakfast, when the radio announcer says, “We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park…………”  then the electric power went out. The wife was very upset, and with a worried look on her face she said, “I don’t know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snow ploughs can get through?”

Then with the love and understanding in his voice that all men who are married to blondes exhibit, the husband replied, “Why don’t you just leave the bloody car in the garage this time.”

 One Liners.

I was in bed  with a blind girl last night and she said that I had the biggest penis she had ever laid her hands on. I said “You’re pulling my leg.”

I saw a poor old lady fall over today on the side-walk! At least I presume she was poor – she only had $1.20 in her purse.

My girlfriend thinks that I’m a stalker. Well, she’s not exactly my girlfriend yet.

Went for my routine check-up today and everything seemed to be going fine until he stuck his index finger up my butt! Do you think I should change dentists?

A wife says to her husband you’re always pushing me around and talking behind my back. He says what do you expect? You’re in a wheel chair.

I was explaining to my wife last night that when you die you get reincarnated but must come back as a different creature. She said she would like to come back as a cow. I said, “You’re obviously not listening”.

The wife has been missing a week now. Police said to prepare for the worst. So, I have been to the thrift shop to get all of her clothes back.

At the Senior Citizens Center they had a contest the other day. I lost by one point: The question was: Where do women mostly have curly hair? Apparently the correct answer was Africa!!!

One of the other questions that I missed was to name one thing commonly found in cells. It appears that Blacks is not the correct answer either.

There’s a new Muslim clothing shop opened in our shopping center, but I’ve been banned from it after asking to look at some of the new bomber  jackets.

You can say lots of bad things about paedophiles but at least they drive slowly past schools.

Being a modest man, when I checked into my hotel on a recent trip, I said to the lady at the registration desk, “I hope the porn channel in my room is disabled.” To which she replied, “No, it’s regular people-porn, you sick bastard.

A buddy of mine has just told me he’s getting it on with his girlfriend and her twin. I said “How can you tell them apart?” He said “Her brother’s got a moustache.”

The Red Cross have just knocked at our door and asked if we could help towards the floods in Pakistan. I said we would love to, but our garden hose only reaches the driveway

My First Drink With My Son

I was readings an article last night about fathers and sons and memories came flooding back of the time I took my son out for his first pint. Off we went to our local which is only two blocks from the house. I got him a Fosters, he didn’t like it – so I had it. Then I got him a Carling Black Label, he didn’t like it, so I had it. It was the same with the 1664 Lager and Premium Dry Cider. By the time we got down to the whisky I could hardly push the bloody pram back home.

 Row, Row, Row Your Boat!

 News Flash from Vancouver…….

The Navy intercepted a boatload of people off the coast of BC today. This placed the Navy in an awkward position, as the boat was not heading to, but away from Canada, towards Asia.

Another surprise finding was that they were loaded with white Canadians who were all seniors of pensionable age. Their claim was that they were trying to get to Asia so as to be able to return to Canada as illegal immigrants, and therefore be entitled to far more benefits than they were receiving as legitimate Canadian pensioners. The Navy it is believed gave them food, water and assisted them on their journey.

We are booking on the next boat out. Let me know if you want to come.

The Unfathomable Stupidity Of People

Posted in Atlantic, Britain, Child Abuse, Children, England, Environment, Insanity, News, Parenting, UK with tags , , on 06/01/2014 by floroy1942

Everyone can do stupid things, but the depths to which some people will go is unbelievable. During the past week several people have disappeared while walking along the sea front of UK coastal towns during the storms, their curiosity overcoming their common sense. Many have still not been found.

People With A Death Wish?

People With A Death Wish?

The Meteorological Office have warned people that waves as high as eight metres (27ft) are hitting the coastline, but still people want to see them up close.

Some irresponsible parents have even taken small children to the promenade only to be washed from the sea wall when waves hit, risking them being swept into the raging sea.

This could have cost his children their lives.

This could have cost his children their lives.

It just goes to show that God can give people brains, but he cannot force their use.

It’s that time of the year when we can expect snow and more importantly, black ice. Here are some of the crazy antics people get up to when driving in such conditions. To finish off, some tips on how to drive on ice and snow.

You have to wonder how some of these people ever got a driving licence

And finally, a little advice of how to cope in winter driving.

Good luck to all if you have to drive in such conditions.

The Pensioner Parasites Of Britain

Posted in Benefits, Britain, England, Equality, Health, Human Rights, News, Old Age Pensioner, Spain, UK with tags , , , , on 17/11/2013 by floroy1942

There are times when I am ashamed of my fellow countrymen, and a report out this week has highlighted well-off pensioners who are raking in the money at the expense of their counterparts who are dying of cold every winter in the UK.

cartoonI refer to those pensioners who have enough money to spend the cold winter months in sunny Spain and the South of France, and still insist on claiming their UK heating allowance.

I am sure most, if not all, know that many old folks back home often have to choose between eating and staying warm, and every winter there are those poor souls who die from either the lack of proper nutrition or the cold. Sadly, these greedy individuals are not moved one iota by this fact, and continue to claim their allowance “because they are entitled to it”.

Winter On The Costa - Not An Overcoat To Be Seen

Winter On The Costa – Not An Overcoat To Be Seen

Many thousands spend most of the winter here on the Costa del Sol where the daytime temperature rarely drops below 14 degrees, unlike the UK, for there much of the winter it is almost always below five degrees and very often in the minus, especially at night. It is a sad fact that many UK old folks die alone in their homes in winter because they have not been able to keep warm.

The government did what it could to help by providing the Heating Allowance for pensioners, but unfortunately they did not add proper limits so that only the poor and needy were entitled. According to the government webpage on heating allowance you are entitled if:

  • you were born on or before 5 January 1952 (for winter 2013 to 2014 – this date changes every year)

  • you normally live in the UK throughout the week of 16 to 22 September 2013

You may still be able to get the payment if you live in another European Economic Area (EEA) country or Switzerland and you have a genuine link with the UK.

You usually get a Winter Fuel Payment automatically if you get the State Pension or another social security benefit (not Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction or Child Benefit).

The Benefit Of Heating Allowance

The Benefit Of Heating Allowance

I could claim this allowance because I live in a European country, am over sixty-five and have a genuine link to the UK, but I don’t because my conscience would not allow me too. Why is there a clause in the rules that allows people not living in the UK to receive such an allowance? This rule should be scrapped.

In my opinion, anyone spending the winter outside the UK, and certainly with an apartment or villa in Spain or the South of France, has no need of such payments. But unfortunately, people these days are greedy and think only of themselves and don’t give a hoot for anyone else.

Most people see it as a free handout from the government that they gladly accept and do not care that the really needy old folk die from cold. Perhaps these parasites should be given a guided tour of these poor people and see first hand their living conditions and feel for themselves the cold days and nights.

Cold, Hungry And Alone

Cold, Hungry And Alone

It is also a sad fact these days that many people do not think about taking proper care of the parents who gave them life, and leave them to die alone in the old family home. Some pensioners are lucky if their children visit briefly even once a year, others may get a visit once a month, but in most cases it is more important to have the family holiday in Mallorca  than to ensure the parents have a warm home to live in throughout the winter.

Winter Home On The Costa

Winter Home On The Costa

According to the report, a total of £21 million was handed out to pensioners who spend the winter in the warmer climes of Europe. Of this amount, £9 million went to pensioners basking in the sun in Spain, and another £5.1 million went to those living in France. Pensioners seeing through the winter as far away as Greece received in total £351,000 in heating payments.

According to the official figures, 119,587 pensioners living in the European Economic Area received payments in 2012-2013, a rise of 60 per cent on 2011-2012. These figures do not include those pensioners spending the winter in the UK. A drastic rise when you consider that in 2002 to 2003 only 8,090 people were paid this benefit. This coming winter may well see many more deaths among the old when you consider the major rises in energy prices passed on by the electricity and gas companies to the consumer.

If Attitudes Don't Change This Could Be You!

If Attitudes Don’t Change This Could Be You!

It is a terrible thing to sit in your own home and be unable to keep yourself warm in winter, and even more so to freeze to death. We are supposed to be a civilized people so how can we allow this to happen. Those who can afford to go abroad for the winter should have all payments stopped immediately. The millions that are saved would be enough to give all pensioners in the UK a warm house in which to see through winter without starving themselves to get it. That should be sufficient incentive for any government to change the rules.

Our Arctic Winter and the Arctic Ice

Posted in America, Britain, Conservative Party, Environment, Europe, Germany, Government, United Nations, USA with tags , , , on 01/03/2012 by floroy1942

Scientists have at last come up with a relationship between this years’ hard winter and the lack of Arctic summer sea ice. I must admit that to me it seems perfectly logical, and I wonder why they didn’t think of it before.

Glacier Melt

We have all seen the news footage of melting glaciers and retreating sea ice on the telly at some time or another, and it baffles me why people have taken so long to link these events with the increasingly harsh winters Europe and North America are facing. Of course, we all know its down to global warming, and one thing is for sure, there is worse to come. Much worse!

Athens Greece

It is abundantly clear, when you look at winter records for the past ten years, that they are becoming colder, and the amount of snowfall is rapidly increasing across Europe. This year even saw snow in southern Greece and Italy, something practically unheard of.

Sea Ice Loss - 1978 to 2007

It would appear from news reports that the Arctic sea ice is melting at an alarming rate during the summer and autumn periods, and is retreating further north every year. This in turn exposes large areas of open sea to the sun, and as we all know (or should do), ice reflects heat back into the atmosphere, where the sea doesn’t. Increased evaporation over the sea is therefore causing larger amounts of water droplets in the atmosphere. In turn, this is causing the increased amounts of snow covering the two northern continents.

Gulf Stream

There  should be little doubt in anyone’s mind that global warming is having a major effect on the Arctic, and scientists have for a long time been worried by the large amounts of fresh water ice melt from glaciers in these latitudes affecting the Gulf Stream, which is the flow of warm water from the Caribbean to the north of the British Isles. It is the Gulf Stream that is responsible for the mild climate experienced in northern Europe. What the scientists are afraid of, and we should join them in this, is that the influx of large amounts of fresh water from the Arctic ice melt will desalinate large areas of the North Atlantic, and thus cause the Gulf Stream to cease flowing, or be forced further south. Either way, if anything happens to this flow we in the northern hemisphere would be in for some really tough times.

Hey Honey. I Found It!

Snowfall across almost the whole of Europe has been setting new records this year and as many know, has caused travel chaos and many tens of thousands to be cut off from the outside world. Now that period seems to be over and temperatures are rising, if slowly in some countries. But the rising temperatures bring with them a new danger, mainly that of massive flooding as huge amounts of melting snow tries to find its way to rivers, and eventually, the sea.

What it all comes down to is that our current life-style is slowly but surely strangling us at an ever increasing rate, and it seems no-one except the scientists are worried by it. I don’t see anyone making simple changes to their lives that could help solve the problem.

A Proud Three Car Family

We still see many families with two, three, or even four cars, and people still take the car to the supermarket just 300 yards down the road! We still see Mothers taking their offspring to school in the car just down the road instead of having them walk! We are all so fixated on ‘self’, and the need to make lots of money ‘by hook or by crook’, that we don’t care a fig for the planet so long as it doesn’t affect profits, or our lifestyle. When asked, some even have the audacity to say; “Its not my problem” or “What do I care, I’ll be dead by then”! I guess that is as good an indication as any how far down the selfish road we have travelled.

It may seem like a silly thing to bring stuff like this up, but it is time we realised that we are all responsible for the current state of affairs, each in our own way.

Chicago Winter 2012

Whether our climate will eventually find a new equilibrium or not, and if we can continue to function in the new set of circumstances, remains to be seen. Whichever way it goes, I am sure we will not like it, and be forced to make some drastic changes to the way we live. In  usual human fashion we will wait until its almost too late before we make the necessary changes.

Continental equivalent of Sea Ice Loss

I can see the time coming when laws will need to be passed to drastically cut the number of vehicles on the roads, and it may well come to all families being restricted to one vehicle by law, and those vehicles to be used for journeys of more than a certain distance, like for example, five miles. Its pretty much the same as the draconian laws in place in China at the moment that restrict the population to one child per family in order to curb the population explosion.

Companies are Making Money But They Won't Save the Planet

All this business about electric cars, more fuel-efficient cars etc. is nothing more than window dressing, for in the long term they will not solve the massive problem that is coming our way.

Wind Farms - Wasted Effort

Governments currently seem either totally disinterested in the problem, or are incapable of taking the measures needed for salvation of the planet because they do not wish to upset the people who vote them in. I have news for them, the time is coming! Modern politicians are full of half-hearted measures that are of no practical use in the upcoming crisis, like the current British Coalition who want to increase the number of wind farms to replace nuclear power. Pie in the sky! Wind power will never produce enough energy to satisfy our daily needs, and its more expensive to run and less efficient.

No-one can predict when the crunch will come, but one thing is certain, the situation will eventually be dire enough as to force all governments world-wide to take alarming measures such as I have suggested in an effort to save our species, and the planet.

Typhoon

In the meantime, I am sure we can look to ever increasing harsh winters in the northern hemisphere, America can expect an increase in hurricane and tornado activity, and other parts of the globe, like the Far East, will see more typhoons and major flooding. Its all going down the tubes folks, and there is little we can do to stop it until someone takes control and forces us to look long and hard at how the selfishness and greed in our daily lives is affecting our world.

The Old Are Dying of Cold

Posted in Britain, Conservative Party, England, Environment, Europe, Health, Old Age Pensioner, Senior Citizen, UK with tags , , , , , on 29/11/2011 by floroy1942

It is indeed sad to read accounts of the callous attitude of many towards the old folks these days. They obviously do not think that one day they too will grow old, and may also suffer the same humiliation and despair that faces many of our senior citizens today. You may well ask what brought this on, and I will tell you.

Old and Cold! - Should This Be?

I was somewhat dismayed to read in the english news of the past week, that an estimated 180 pensioners died of cold in their own homes every day during last winter. They died because they could not afford to heat their homes sufficiently to stay alive.

Britain had a harsh winter last year and it will by no means be that last, for with global warming upsetting weather patterns around the world, it is more likely to increase. Does this mean then that as soon as you become an old age pensioner you will not last out the winter?

Winter 2010-2011

Throughout the period a total of 25,700 people died because of the cold weather, an estimated 85% of whom were over sixty-five. Apart from the weather extremes, the constantly rising price of energy and a low income are making many families, and in particular the old, choose between putting food on the table or keeping warm. This should not be happening in the 21st century!

Thank God For Someone Who Cares

We all trumpet the virtues of our ‘Caring Society’ and our Welfare State, but people are still dying needlessly of something as basic as cold! No other European country has such a winter mortality rate due to the inability to keep warm, even though it is often much colder than in the UK.

Part of the problem is also that very many old people live in houses built by the Victorians, which have little or no insulation measures installed. Britain has been very slow to act on this important issue, which will cost us dear in the years to come as more weather changes take effect.

Home Alone?

I am sure most of these poor old people have children, but such is the self-centred attitude of many these days, that they can’t be bothered to do anything to alleviate the suffering of the ones who brought them into the world so long ago.

Winter is Coming

It seems few these days feel any obligation to look after the old folks, except perhaps for volunteer organizations dedicated to the task and professional carers, in fact many see them as an embarrassment which is even more disgusting. So if you have elderly parents who are living on the poverty line, take some time out to visit them, invite them over for Christmas and at least make them feel that somebody cares.

Make sure they are warm and fed this winter and don’t become a statistic, even if the cost comes out of your own pocket, for it may well be your turn at some time in the future.

Roy.
