Sir Winston Churchill

Sir Winston Churchill

Winston Churchill shoved his willy up my bum when I was three years old. OOH! Shock, horror! I remember it well, he came to our house in war-torn Reading looking for some relaxation from his duties as Prime Minister and took a fancy to me. My parents could not object because he was so famous.

Yea! Right! My claim is just as credible as those that are being made against other famous figures that are currently suffering under allegations from forty or fifty years ago, like Cliff Richard and today, Prince Andrew. I do not believe a word of these ridiculous claims any more than I would that the man in the Moon really exists!

He Sure As Hell Did!

He Sure As Hell Did!

Ever since the Jimmy Saville news broke there have been countless claims of molestation against various stars and famous personalities dreamed up by old women looking for a moment of fame, or more likely some form of compensation. These people are destroying the reputation of famous people just to get their name in the papers.

There can be little doubt that the accusations against Saville are true and it was unfortunate that he died before he could face justice. Some of the other people mentioned in the past year could also be guilty, but imagine being faced with a star struck young girl who will do anything to take away a lasting memory of you. As a young man it would be a huge effort to say no.

During the sixties, with the coming of rock groups like The Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Elvis etc, girls who went to their shows were fainting, crying, and screaming their heads off, overcome by the sheer emotion of the moment and would do anything to get close enough to touch these performers. It was adoration taken to ridiculous lengths. Any girl who got close enough would literally throw themselves at their pop idol just for the thrill of having any form of physical contact, and of course be able to tell their friends. I know I have seen it.

In many cases these young girls managed to get backstage and would stalk the stars and even sneak into their dressing rooms. Such was their hysteria that to be kissed or groped by them was the ultimate moment. For the stars themselves it was always a game of ‘cat and mouse’ as they tried to get out of the theatre without being mobbed.

Now today, thirty, forty or more years later, these same women are coming forward claiming they were ‘raped’ or ‘groped’ by these stars. So my question is, why did they wait so long to come forward? IF a crime was committed, why wait half a lifetime before coming forward and accusing these ageing stars? The same can be said about the current allegations against Prince Andrew.

It would appear that if you are, or were famous, any upstart can come forward with absurd claims of sexual impropriety and be believed.

It's Often About The Money

It’s Often About The Money

One of the main reasons I believe is the quest for some form of monetary compensation that can often be large amounts if the court finds for the plaintiff. It has nothing to do with the original act, brought about by the obsession for notoriety among their friends. If something happened in the sixties, why wait fifty years before coming forward, instead of going to the Police immediately afterwards.

At the time, if you could tell your friends that you got into so and so’s dressing room and were either ‘groped’ or had sex with them, you were a star in your own right among your friends, who naturally were all jealous.

Name Dragged In The Mud!

Name Dragged In The Mud!

The one thing that got me incensed recently was the disgraceful events surrounding the allegations against Sir Cliff Richard, where the BBC were allowed to even film the search of his property while the Police looked for evidence. What did they expect to find? Perhaps it was DNA from a display of ancient used condoms Cliff kept in a closet!

For this many heads should roll, and not just among the Police. The most shameful thing about the whole episode was that he knew nothing about it and was not even in country!

Now allegations are being made about Prince Andrew who is supposed to have had sex with a woman when she was under-age in three separate locations, i.e. London, New York and a Caribbean island. It all smells very fishy to me! If these allegations should prove to be untrue this woman should be locked up for a long time.

Prince Andrew

Prince Andrew

There can be little doubt that the Prince chose badly when he became friends with Jeffry Epstein who is supposed to have ‘forced’ under-aged girls into having sex, but that does not necessarily mean that the Prince is guilty. I am sure the girl, even if she was under-age would have enjoyed the rich lifestyle she was forced to ‘suffer’ at the hands of Epstein. Also, if she was under-age at the time why has it taken fourteen years for her to come forward?

No, I’m sorry but none of this holds water for me, and since the hundreds of women who have come forward in the last year about illegal sex with stars I don’t believe a word of it. These women have an ulterior motive behind their coming forward, either money or notoriety. I just feel sorry for the innocents whose reputation have been irrevocably damaged by these allegations.

In conclusion I wish to apologise to the Churchill family for using Winston’s name in this post. He was a great man, and without doubt saved this country from being trampled underfoot by the Nazi scourge. God Bless Him!

The Syria Farce and the UN

Posted in Demonstration, Human Rights, Muslim, Security Council, UN, United Nations, World War 2 with tags , , , on 09/04/2012 by floroy1942

Honestly, did anyone really expect UN peace envoy Koffi Anan’s peace plan to work in Syria? Personally I didn’t believe it for a minute. It was an elaborate flop before it even got off the drawing board. Throughout all the world’s troubles in the last fifty years where the UN has been involved, very little has been achieved by this talk shop. The Syrian crisis of the past year is a prime example.

Assad in Obstinate Mood

Both Russia and China voted against measures of censure being taken against the Assad regime even though it was requested by the Arab League, and why, because Russia views Syria as an important strategic ally that buys billions of dollars worth of arms from them, and also provides a Mediterranean port for the Russian fleet. China also does does not want to damage its important trade ties with the Assad regime. So there  you have it, greed and self-interest! Of all the many times when the UN has been called upon to act against rogue states, civil wars and outright aggression, it has failed dismally on all but a few occasions.

Winston Churchill - Statesman Extraordinaire

Few people will know this, but the concept of the United Nations was the brainchild of Winston Churchill during the early years of World War 2. At his instigation it began life as the Inter-Allied Declaration of June 12 1941 between Churchill and President Roosevelt of the United States, declaring that both Britain and America would work together to destroy Nazi Germany. On August 12 1941 the Atlantic Charter was proclaimed by the two statesmen to give the world a set of conditions for the management of the post-war world once Germany had been defeated. It stated that all national boundaries would be respected and all Allied nations would work together to ensure world peace. It was later re-released with the inclusion of Japan after the Pearl Harbour attack as the Declaration of the United Nations  (Allies) after being co-signed by all 26 powers on the Allied side on January 1st 1942.

At meetings in Moscow on October 30 1943 the governments of the United Kingdom, the USA, Russia and China called for formation of an international organization to maintain peace and security throughout the entire world. This was reaffirmed at the Tehran Conference on December 1 1943.

Yalta Conference - October 1945

At joint conferences between 21 September and 7 October 1944 the final draft was thrashed out in Washington. Following the Yalta Conference on the 11th February 1945, Winston Churchill, President Roosevelt and Joseph Stalin declared their resolve to establish  “a general international organization to maintain peace and security” and on April 25 1945 the leaders of fifty nations stepped forward to sign the United Nations Charter which came into force on the 25th October 1945. The first meeting of all signatories took place on the 10th of January 1946 in Westminster Hall London.

Korean War 1950-1953

Since that time the UN has had to take action on several occasions. The first great test of the Council was the Korean War of 1950-1953 in which it made the decision to send an international force to stem the Communist North Korean invasion of South Korea. Since its creation, the United Nations has been directly involved in about thirty incidents or wars world-wide but sad to say, has failed in more than half to put an end to the trouble.

First UN Meeting - London 1946

This is in direct contradiction to the original aspirations for this body by Winston Churchill. He envisaged an international ‘powerhouse for peace’ with the express purpose of enforcing peace upon all nations. His idea was that any country bent on aggression would be completely shut off from the world, including its neighbours who would close all borders. By isolating the trouble-spot in this fashion he was of the opinion that wars between nations could be consigned to history. It did however assume that all nations would immediately agree to such a move. Unfortunately he did not take into account the modern attitude of greed and self-interest among the world’s nations – like Russia and China for example who, among others, have used their veto power to block legislation and action.

Another Ruthless Dictator

This of course brings us back to the current crisis in Syria. In the last year thousands have died, and there is no end in sight to the suffering inflicted on the Syrian people by its own government. It is a scenario often seen in the world today where a dictator will do whatever it takes to hang on to power. These individuals will stop at nothing, and do not care if their people are dying by the thousand from military action or from hunger and disease in places like Zimbabwe.

Blah Blah Blah!

As always, the United Nations becomes little more than a talking shop, where endless discussions are held and countless votes are cast, all in the name of humanity. I am not saying the UN does not do some good, for to say that would be to ignore many of the charitable campaigns it is involved in, such as feeding the starving. It has over the years however fallen far short of the lofty ideals of its creator Winston Churchill.

What Really Goes On Behind The Smoke Screen?

In the meantime, Assad has agreed to countless proposals to stop the slaughter, but much like Iran and its nuclear programme, these are nothing more than a smoke screen and it is clear he will not stop until all protestors are either dead or in prison.

Casualty At Turkish Refugee Camp

Today reports are coming in that Syrian troops are firing at refugees across the borders in Turkey and Lebanon, and Human Rights Watch reports that one hundred civilians and protesters were summarily executed by Assad’s forces sometime in March

So you don’t have to wonder what Assad’s ‘master’ plan is for this crisis, he wants to win at any cost. Until an end comes to the violence by whatever means, the people of Syria continue to suffer and bleed with no end in sight. A sad indictment not only the toothless UN, but of our world today.

Roy.
