Assange: The U.N. Is Getting Ridiculous

Assange Facing Swedish Court In 2010

Assange Facing Swedish Court In 2010

I really cannot believe that a United Nations panel, The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, has come out with a ruling that Julian Assange should be freed, and paid compensation for the time he has been hiding from the Law in the Ecuadorian Embassy  in London. It is common knowledge that there is an outstanding warrant for this man’s arrest in Sweden on a charge of rape in 2010.

He fled the country and when an international arrest warrant was issued he was arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London. While on bail he took up refuge in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London after losing several appeals, where he has been ever since.

Now, to my mind, if you are innocent of a crime such as this you do not run away and hide from the law, but, there is another tail on this animal. It is well known that he is wanted by the Americans for making public thousands of government secrets through Wikileaks. It is said he ran because he feared the Swedish Authorities would hand him over to the Americans to face trial, however, I consider this to be nothing more than an excuse to escape justice.

These Demonstrators Would Have Different Views If THEY had Been Raped.

These Demonstrators Would Have Different Views If THEY had Been Raped.

He has been hiding in the Embassy since 2012 and the U.N. panel thinks this is illegal. What they seem to have conveniently forgotten is that he went there of his own free will to escape justice. To say that he has been illegally detained is too ridiculous for words, and on top of that they think he should be given compensation by the British Government for the time he has been ‘imprisoned’.

As you would expect, Assange has called for this decision to be respected and demands to be set free. The thing is, no-one is stopping him from walking out the front door of the Embassy, so as such he is not being ‘imprisoned’ as they say.

I am happy to say that the British and Swedish authorities do not seem impressed by this farce and will continue to regard him as someone who is evading justice. In my view all countries concerned should categorically ignore this stupid ruling by interfering busy-bodies from the U.N..

I am sure he can reach an agreement with the Swedish Authorities that he will step forward and face the charges against him provided he is not handed over to the Americans on Swedish soil. Should such an agreement be reached then he will have nothing to fear if he is in fact innocent.

Assange Plays The Victim

Assange Plays The Victim

For the life of me I cannot see why the United Nations got involved in this mess in the first place. The man is basically a fugitive from Justice, and since when does the U.N. get involved in such cases? They should be concentrating on more important things like ridding the world of Islamic State and all the other Muslim terrorist groups.

It just goes to show you how farcical the world has become these days!

One Up For France

Posted in Britain, Child Abuse, Child Discipline, European Union, News, Parenting, Police, Teen alcohol abuse, Teen Violence, Teens with tags , , , , on 08/03/2015 by floroy1942

It would seem that France is not bowing to pressure from the rest of Europe on an important issue. It concerns a law that was accepted by the rest of Europe but not by the French, and for that I applaud them, for they at least are showing common sense.

images (1)You may be wondering what I am on about so I’ll tell you. This post concerns France’s refusal to enforce the ‘no-smacking’ rule for children that has cascaded across the world ever since Sweden first banned it in 1979. It is now forbidden to use ‘corporal punishment’ (i.e. smack a child) in 44 countries across the world, but to date France refuses to back it. I think they have the right attitude.

I still remember the old saying: “A smack in time stops a crime” and its as true today as it ever was. During their formative years children must learn right from wrong, but few do these days. If they do not, we end up with a mess like we have today, where teenagers and young adults are the cause of a good proportion of the crime in society today, run wild whenever they feel like it, drink excessively and take to drugs.

The Statistics Tell It All

The Statistics Tell It All

It is essential to teach from a very early age what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. If you begin early enough just a light tap on the hand or buttocks is enough to teach them right from wrong. Naturally, I do not advocate ‘beating’ a child for that is over the line.

With my own children I used the prescribed method from the time they learned to walk, and a light slap on the buttocks was necessary only two or three times and they learned quickly. When my wife or I said they should not do something they stopped immediately. In later years they both conformed to the norms of teenage and adult behaviour without a problem. I am happy to say they both turned out to be exemplary adults who never turned to drink or took drugs.

People's Opinion

People’s Opinion

In contrast to this, a brother of my wife used the ‘no-smacking’ rule and his boy was such a nuisance that the family told him to leave the boy at home when he came to visit. He used the old and tried method on his second son and he was as good as gold.

When I look at the world today, I see Britain’s youth in particular, running wild on the streets especially at weekends when they all go out drinking to excess. There are fights in Disco’s and on the streets and the Police are constantly trying to stop them. We have children as young as nine or ten committing murders and many of today’s’ teenagers hang around on street corners in gangs looking for likely victims and even robbing convenience stores on the High Street. Teenage crime has gone through the roof since I was a child, in fact crime in general has escalated to levels unheard of in my time.

GoodI blame the ‘Anti-Smacking’ Laws that have all but made it impossible to teach a child discipline, honesty and respect when they need it most. This fact is most noticeable these days in the general attitude of many who think of themselves first before considering the needs of others.

It is true that in the old days some parents overstepped the limit when it came to child chastisement and were excessively brutal, but in general these were few and far between in my experience and certainly did not warrant a blanket law for everyone, but it happened and now we are stuck with the consequences.

So all things considered, I applaud the stance taken by France where normal child chastisement is allowed. I hope they continue with it and not bow to outside pressure from the E.U.

Time To Stop This ‘Racist’ Madness

Posted in Britain, England, Europe, Human Rights, Immigration, Modern World, News, Political Correctness, Politics, UK with tags , , , on 19/01/2014 by floroy1942

The racist crowd have finally reached a new high in their campaign. In Sweden they have forced a popular manufacturer to stop selling certain bags of sweets because they contain liquorice made to look like ethnic masks or facial representations resembling primitive African, Asian or Native American art. Are these people barmy or what?

Had They Been White No-one Would Have Said A Word!

It seems these nutters, I can think of no other word for them right now, have finally fallen off their trolley! Sweden is normally considered a quiet placid country where they bother no-one, and the country is seldom heard of in the news. It seems however that many people claimed on the internet that the sweets in question were racist, and that forced the boss of Haribo Sweden to remove the ‘offending’ articles from production. When questioned by reporters, the head of Haribo Sweden Ola Dagliden told AFP, “We decided that we could keep the product while removing the parts that certain consumers found offensive,”

Pretty soon I can see liquorice being totally banned just because its a black substance. Perhaps we should also ban the use of coal, tar for the roads, black plastic and paint just because of their colour!

Did This Turn Our Children Into Rampant Racists?

If this had happened in the UK I could well believe it because we have more than our share of idiots. Years ago they were successful in getting the children’s nursery rhyme ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ banned for being offensive. How on earth did they reach that conclusion? Were they perhaps afraid that a nursery rhyme about black sheep would turn our small children into hardened racists?

The Robertson’s Golly

In 2002 they also forced a well-known jam manufacturer (Robertson’s) to remove the small golliwog that adorned their jars for 150 years. Obviously they were afraid that anyone using Robertson’s jam would immediately start calling all coloured people ‘Golliwog’. Too stupid for words.

Thanks to the traitor Tony Blair and his bunch of crooks who introduced these racist laws, it seems we can be arrested for even mentioning the world black in any pretext! Maybe they would be happier if the word was eradicated from the English language completely.

BLACK! BLACK! BLACK! There I’ve said it! Now I suppose there is an international arrest warrant out for me!

Is That Black Oil – You Raving Racist!

I find it stupid for governments to be pandering to these extremely narrow-minded and dumb people. They jumped on Blair’s bandwagon without realising that the only reason for the law was to stifle criticism of his open border policy, and the hordes of immigrants that took advantage of it. Blair may be the biggest asshole in the history of Britain but he was cunning.

Anyway, back to the main theme. I find it hard to grasp how ordinary people can be taken in by such stupidity as to call a black coloured sweet intended for children racist. Are they saying that all black people are like sweets? Hmmmm! I shall have to think on that one.

On the other side, why do black, er sorry, coloured people not shout racist when they see white sweets? I have seen them eat white sweets and chocolate and not a word is said except “That’s nice”.

I think its time to gather up all these twisted individuals and dump them on a small island in the Pacific where they can shout ‘Racist’ to their hearts content without upsetting anyone. By the way, I was referring to black paint earlier!

They Are Coming To Get Me!

They Are Coming To Get Me!

Oh dear, I just heard a loud knocking on our front door. I think it might be the police.

OK, I surrender! I did as a child repeat the nursery rhyme, and eat some liquorice, and later ate sandwiches with Robertson’s jam! Please don’t shoot me!

Have a nice day Y’all!

Allow Assange to Sunbathe???

Posted in America, Britain, England, Extradition, Human Rights, Insanity, Justice, Police, UK, USA with tags , , , on 11/06/2013 by floroy1942

We have all heard ridiculous statements coming from the mouths of politicians in recent years. So how about this gem! The Ecuadorian government will lobby the British government to allow Julian Assange to sunbathe because it is a fundamental human right! The report is so bizarre, but the world is so crazy these days I believe it.

Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino

Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino

The Foreign Minister of Ecuador, Ricardo Patino, visited Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London last Sunday where he has been hiding from justice for almost a year. Mr. Patino will talk with William Hague this week about Assange and said of the proposed meeting: “I will be asking the British government to allow Mr Assange to sunbathe and enjoy the warm weather and sunshine because, unfortunately, at this moment in time he hasn’t been able to do so for a year. His right to intimacy, mobility, a normal life and health is being restricted.”

I’m afraid my reaction is, so what, he is a fugitive from justice.

Once again we see the ‘uman rights laws being twisted to someone’s advantage. Perhaps the Ecuadorian’s think the police should escort him to Hyde Park and find a nice spot for him to lay down and catch some ‘rays’, and then escort him back to the Embassy?  They will be demanding that he has the right to go for a Big Mac and fries as his ‘uman right next!

His predicament has nothing whatever to do with the British government or people, for we are merely carrying out the law. Assange is wanted on an International Arrest Warrant initiated by the Swedish government, and is being treated just like any other person on the run from justice.

Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy

Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy

He has been hiding in the Embassy for almost a year and continues to protest his innocence, and he may well be, who am I to judge, but if that is so let him prove it in court in Sweden. He has woven a web around the charges by saying that if he goes to Sweden they will hand him over to the Americans. Sorry matey, but you broke the law there too!

The intentions behind the act, while eliciting a huge amount of sympathy world-wide, do not detract from the fact that most sensible people will think before they act! If he did not think of the consequences of his actions before he took them then he is a fool. You do not put thousands of secret documents on the web and expect the government to just shrug their shoulders and say: Damn!

I have no means of knowing what damage his actions may or may not have done to American politics, and to be honest I really don’t care. He did the deed and must pay the price. If that means holing up in the Ecuadorian Embassy for the rest of his life without the chance to lay in the sun so be it! You made your bed sunshine (no pun intended) now you must sleep in it!
