Weather Changes

As It Used To Be

I remember when I was a boy in England the weather was a lot different to today. We had some snow in Winter, but not a lot, and Spring came with the trees and plants blossoming all over the place. We went for a walk in the forests to see the wild flowers. When Summer came we had sunshine for most months as the temperatures rose to their middle twenties. In Autumn the trees went from green to red and brown as they shed their leaves in preparation for winter.

We have never seen weather like this in the beginning of Spring with floods, snow in some parts of the world, and Summers so hot we are can barely stand the temperatures. Now all that has changed over the years as the contamination of the atmosphere gets worse as years go by.

The woods and forests in England are all but gone and this is changing the climate. Farmers have cut down the trees that are giving us oxygen to get extra land to grow crops. It’s a tragedy. In all parts of the world forests are being hacked down to give us more farmland and it is destroying the planet.

The amount of vehicles on our roads are slowly clogging up the atmosphere, but no-one takes any notice. Governments are not taking this seriously! In a few years we will have electric cars and lorries rolling across our countries, but will this solve the problem? I doubt it! It may take 100 years to get rid of the poisonous atmosphere, but will we still be around on this planet. I do not know what the future brings, but it will certainly change our lives.

Currently the oceans are full of plastic and that is destroying the fish that some countries feed on. There is a plan to clear plastic from the oceans but that will take years and years, and all the while people abandon plastic on beaches which end up in the the sea. There is a movement to ban plastic for all time and make it reusable. But how long will that take, and it will still end up in the oceans.

Currently the oceans are clogged with plastic all across the globe, and if we are not careful it will be the end of us all.

The Trouble In Spain

Posted in America, Britain, England, Europe, European Union, Government, News, Politics, Relationships, Spain with tags , , , , on 28/10/2017 by floroy1942

th

For forty years there has never been so much trouble in Spain as today. The Catalan government has declared it’s secession from Spain, but the Spanish government does not accept it. Catalan wants to be an independent  nation, but how many people accept this? We see daily on the news hoards of people celebrating the departure of Catalan from Spain, but how many really want to see this happen?

Crowds gather in Barcelona and cheer the secession but are they the majority of the population? Although thousands have gathered in Barcelona to cheer on their government it is nowhere near all of the people. Very many of them do not want to take this step and the upcoming vote, planned by Rajoy, will show how many really back this separation from Spain.

The leader of the separation movement Carles Puigdemont announced the separation from Spain a week ago and Premier Mariano Rajoy  was livid at the sheer arrogance of this announcement. At the moment he is planning to removed the current government of Barcelona, intending to replace them with people of his own. It is for sure this will cause a lot of trouble in the north, as people who voted for the secession will demonstrate on the streets of Barcelona and there will probably be riots on the streets.

Catalan is the biggest earner in the country, and if this goes ahead we can see that Spain will become a poor country as Catalonia flourishes with its wealth. Most of the wealth in the rest of Spain comes from tourism. Will we see the numbers drop if this plan goes ahead?

No-one knows how this will turn out, but Rahoy has called a general election in the near future. What the outcome will be of this vote no-one knows.

What To Do About The Weather

Posted in America, Britain, Canada, China, Conservation, Environment, European Union, Health, Modern World, News with tags , , , , on 14/08/2017 by floroy1942

In the last few years we have seen drastic weather changes all across the world. Flooding, drought, heat waves and huge storms have hit our planet as never before. These have all been caused by us humans, for we have contaminated the atmosphere as never before. This is all due to the massive amount of traffic on our roads, and factories that pump out carbon dioxide all of which poison the atmosphere. Instead of allowing the heat to dissipate in space it is trapped in our atmosphere by the pollution. This causes temperatures around the globe to rise as never before. All life on the planet is suffering because of this.

Image result for climate change

The trouble is the majority of people just don’t care about it, for if they did they would stop buying diesel engined cars for a start and begin reducing the amount of traffic on our roads. Some families have three and four cars, one for father, one for mother, and at least one for the grown-up children. They just do not see that so many cars on our roads are causing this atmospheric problem.

As we look into the future we see that electric cars may eventually take over. But the one problem with this is we do not have enough power stations across the world to carry this extra load. Already we are getting close to overloading our power stations, what with all the gadgets we own. So the introduction of electric cars will cause a total collapse of the power generation system. We have to find another way!

Image result for climate changeThe British government is trying to outlaw all diesel vehicles by 2040, but to me that is far too late. We must start taking action now! Even if we stop contaminating our atmosphere it will take tens of years, maybe hundreds before the world gets back to normal. In the meantime many hundreds of thousands will die from our poisonous atmosphere. Lung cancer is steadily on the rise, and they are people who do not smoke but live in heavily contaminated cities like London, Shanghai and Riyad. You only have to look at photo’s of these cities, and many more, to see the cloud of contamination that covers them.

If we do not start acting now mankind will be almost extinct on this planet, for our world, for the most part, will become unlivable. Would you really want to go about your daily business wearing a gas mask? No, I thought not!

The sad thing is, most people do not think of the future but are content to live their lives as they do, and to hell with the future. But what sort of life are we leaving our children and their children? We all love our children, but we have no thought about the situation we are leaving them. You may not have to go around wearing a gas mask but what if they do?

A quote: “According to experts, by 2100 weather-related disasters could affect two thirds of Europe’s population per year, with yearly deaths caused by extreme weather predicted to soar 50 times from 3,000 between 1981 and 2010 to 152,000 between 2071 and 2100.” Currently people are living well into their eighties but that figure will drop like a stone in the years to come, and all because of the way we are polluting our atmosphere.

Image result for climate change

You may well read this and brush it off as nonsense because it doesn’t affect you, but there is no getting away from the problems we will face in the near future. Unless every single one of us starts to make changes in the way we live, we will see in years to come major problems for mankind. But it won’t affect us, it will affect your children and theirs.

A quote: Lead scientist Dr Giovanni Forzieri, from the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Italy, said: “Climate change is one of the biggest global threats to human health of the 21st century, and its peril to society will be increasingly connected to weather-driven hazards. Unless global warming is curbed as a matter of urgency and appropriate measures are taken, about 350 million Europeans could be exposed to harmful climate extremes on an annual basis by the end of the century.”

Image result for climate changeIt is said by scientists that Spain will become a desert because of its lack of rain which is getting worse by the year. It is not the only country that will see such a future, but it could also apply to all Mediterranean countries too. Huge swathes of Africa will no longer be livable as the temperatures increase and the Sahara Desert will take over much of the continent. We are not only talking about Africa and Europe, but America will see much the same in its middle regions.

No matter how much warning we get from scientists the people brush it off as nonsense and that is dangerous. We have to do something to stop this climate change, and that means all of us!

Time To Shut Blair Up!

Posted in America, Britain, England, European Union, Government, Immigration, News, People's Rights, Terrorism, UK with tags , , , , on 16/07/2017 by floroy1942

Tony Blair – Still Trying To Sabotage Britain

Once again Tony Blair is in the news saying that he thinks Brexit should not happen. Its time to shut this man up and put him in prison for what he has done to this country.

No politician in history has damaged this country as much as he has. He took us into the Iraq War, and then proceeded to allow millions of Muslim people into the the country, and look what a mess it is.

He has been in the news today saying that we should forget Brexit. Mr Blair told Sky News’ Sophy Ridge: “I think it’s possible now that Brexit doesn’t happen. I think it’s absolutely necessary that it doesn’t happen because I think every day is bringing us fresh evidence that it’s doing us damage economically, certainly doing us damage politically.”

What he doesn’t realize is that once we are out from under the yoke of the E.U. we will be able to govern our own country without interference from Brussels. The E.U. has caused so much trouble in the U.K. that, for example. we cannot give killers a proper prison sentence anymore. They are released within three to four years and are back on the streets again.

Also, we cannot deport radicals that live among us because of the European Human Rights Council. Once we are free of this institution we will once again be able to make our own laws and deport these people.

The European Union has got so bogged down with every member looking out for their own interests that they have driven our country into the dirt. It is time for this to stop so that we can make our own laws and not be dictated to by Brussels.

There is no doubt that it will take years for Britain to get back to a normal life like we used to have.

Tony Blair said in an article published by his Institute for Global Change that “The European leaders, certainly from my discussions, are willing to consider changes to accommodate Britain, including around freedom of movement. The opposition to free movement of people, once you break it down, is much more nuanced. The French and Germans share some of the British worries, notably around immigration, and would compromise on freedom of movement.”

It is clear that Blair is trying to sabotage the Brexit movement and in my opinion he should not be allowed to enter any discussions on Brexit. He has done enough damage to this country during his twelve years in office and he should be arrested and charged with destroying the British culture and way of life.

Tony Blair Comeback – Not On Your Life!

Posted in America, Britain, Elections, English Schools, European Union, Immigrants, MP's, News, People's Rights, Political Correctness with tags , , , , on 02/05/2017 by floroy1942

Blair The Traitor

I cannot for the life of me understand why Tony Blair is trying to make a comeback into British politics. To me he must be stark raving mad if he thinks that anyone will vote for him. He has said that he doesn’t wish to be elected as a Member of Parliament, but will try to form a party that is against Brexit. This may get him some followers but it won’t do any good.

After what he did to Britain twenty years ago, anyone who votes for this idiot deserves to be locked up in a lunatic asylum.

Looking back, this man did more damage to the U.K. than any other politician in this country’s history. For a start he took us into the Iraq war at the behest of Bush the then American President. This cost the lives of many British soldiers and Iraqi civilians, and was based on a lie that Saddam Hussein had nuclear weapons.

After that he opened the doors of Britain to millions of immigrants who have taken over many towns in England. As a result, the British people have suffered much hardship and poverty.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror he said, “This Brexit thing has given me a direct motivation to get more involved in the politics. You need to get your hands dirty and I will.” Well, all I have to say is, his hands are filthy dirty already and no amount of soap will clean them.

He defended his record as Prime Minister and the centrists in the Labour Party, saying: “Okay, at the end of 10 years of my time as PM there were things people really objected to; Iraq obviously, and post-9/11 foreign policy. But don’t take that away from the achievements of that government – huge investment in the health service and schools, we reduced pensioner poverty and child poverty, we introduced the minimum wage. We did a lot.” The trouble is, he did far more damage to this country than any other politician in history, but of course he will never admit to that.

So far as the schools are concerned he made a right mess of it. With the influx of migrants our schools were overcome by them and hardly any spoke English. This meant that Arabic teachers had to be employed to give lessons, and where did that leave the English pupils in the schools? It meant that they lost out in school which is one of the reasons why most Brits cannot even put a proper sentence together. The standard of English in todays people who attended these schools is disgraceful. Here’s an example: “Can it be only Blair and his family don’t realise disliked he is?” – “o my god not this traitor again i thought he was dead god only help us all if he returns!”

If I had my way, he would have been locked up in prison for the rest of his life for destroying Britain and all it stands for. But he is an ex-prime minister and they never go to prison do they.

That this man has the gall to try and stop Brexit, which the majority of the British people voted for, is a scandal. The British people are right to separate themselves from the rest of Europe, for eventually all countries will be governed from Brussels. This is the aim of the European parliament who have far too much power over all European countries as it is. They decide on the laws that govern all European countries and we have seen evidence of this in Britain.

Criminals are out of prison when they commit murder in three or four years despite being sentenced to ten years. We hear of murders almost every day of the week because the Justice System cannot handle criminals properly due to the interference of the ‘Do-Gooders’. Britain is a shadow of its former self before Blair came to power, and it’s getting worse day by day.

The Muslims are getting stronger year on year and the ‘Do-Gooders’ make it impossible to control them. Tony Blair passed the Racist Laws in Britain to cover up his unrestricted entry of immigrants. This means that Muslim demonstrations can be held with a police escort, but if a British man stands on a street corner saying anything against the Muslims he is immediately arrested.

There can be no doubt that Britain has suffered so much damage at the hands of Tony Blair that it will never recover.

A Changing World

Posted in America, Britain, Conservation, England, Environment, European Union, Immigrants, Islamic State, News, Nuclear Weapons with tags , , , , on 22/03/2017 by floroy1942

I cannot believe how much the world has changed since I was a boy. I sometimes get the impression that the human race is going stark raving mad, what with all the changes that have happened over the last seventy years.

Beautiful England

When I was a young boy the world was at peace, except for the continuous verbal altercations between communist Russia and America. The only war that took place in those times was the Korean War against the communist north which was short because the United Nations got together a multi-national force to stop them. Despite that the world was for the most part at peace, and countries did not antagonize each other. On top of this we never had violent demonstrations with teenagers setting fire to shops and cars. There were of course demonstrations by the miners in Britain, but for the most part they were more or less peaceful. People went about their daily lives without demonstrations and complaining about what their governments did or did not do.

Summer In The UK

The weather was for the most part calm and we didn’t get hurricanes, flooding and drought across the whole world. In Britain winter was cold and we got our fair share of snow, but when spring came it was calm and the trees and plants blossomed and the countryside looked beautiful. In England we had many woods full of bluebells and daffodils as winter past. They have now for the most part disappeared because the farmers wanted to make more money and had them cleared. When summer came we had temperatures in the mid-twenties which was a pleasure for the people. Holiday makers went to English seaside towns and spent their time on the beach basking in the sun. There were no drunks causing mayhem on the streets and drugs were never seen.

The Raging Sea

What a huge change has come over the world today. Now we see all the things that were never heard of in those days. Wars, hurricanes, drought and flooding all across the world, and not to forget the violent demonstrations by the people against something or other. Governments having slanging matches against each other, and tensions have mounted in this modern era, and for what?

ISIS Execution

Currently Europe is battling against the influx of migrants caused by the ISIS war in the Middle East, and the continent is being flooded with these people because few countries have taken the time or effort to put ISIS out of business. I have often said that the United Nations should have stepped in long ago and wiped these people out so that the world can return to peace and all the migrants can go home. As you know, this has never happened because they stay silent.

At the moment Russia, Syria, and the United States are doing all they can to stop these people but arguments about how they should go about it are commonplace. The sad thing is, many ISIS fighters have come to Europe as refugees and have carried out attacks on various nations.

ISIS ‘Refugee’ Arrested At The Border

It was said in a report a few days ago that the whole world will be Muslim by 2050. That I cannot believe but this is what ISIS is trying to achieve. In our prisons Muslim prisoners are trying to convince other prisoners to become Muslim, and the number of people in the U.K. who have converted to Allah is growing. Why?

People in the Middle East have suffered greatly under ISIS but the other Arab countries like Saudi Arabia, Dubai and the UAE have done nothing to help these people so they have all fled to Europe. The only Middle East nation to help has been Jordan, and they are stretched to the limit.

As It Used To Be

We have seen huge changes in the weather due to global warming. Even England has had its share of hurricanes, flooding and drought. But it is far worse in other countries across the globe. Recently dozens of people have lost their lives in the flooding in Peru, and we have seen major droughts across many nations, so for example, it is impossible to grow crops to feed the people, especially in Africa. In the middle of Africa at the moment there are 20 million people who do not have enough food to keep them alive. What are the rich nations doing about this?

Murder On The Streets

Constantly we hear of vicious attacks and murder by young people these days. This was very rare when I was young because we were brought up properly by our parents, and discipline was strict during our formative years. Now all that has gone and the young people do as they please without a thought for others. Almost every day we hear of murder and violence in Britain, sometimes for the most stupid of reasons. Young people go out on a Saturday night and use drugs to get high and consume a lot of alcohol just to have a good time, and then the violence begins. Street fights, and sometimes murder.

The World Of Anarchy

The world has become a sad place and it makes me wonder how long mankind will last. In general we have become so violent against each other that the future of mankind is in doubt. Within a few years complete anarchy will reign in many countries and that will signal the beginning of the end of the human race.

Bribes

We have to get back to law and order on this planet and governments must govern properly for the sake of the people. The main trouble with politicians is the lust for money. Most of them will take bribes for agreeing to dubious suggestions put forward by companies and fellow politicians just to make themselves rich.

Gates And Buffet – Two Who Help Others

We have many rich businessmen who are worth billions, but what do they do with the money – hide it in offshore bank accounts instead of using it to help others. Two of the people who do not conform with this are Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. Most others do not care to help those who are in dire straits.

The Poor And The Rich

Rich countries are doing little to help the starving millions in Africa, and if they do there is always someone who will help themselves to the aid money given by many countries. Look at Haiti for example. There were billions pledged to help the country after their tragic earthquakes that destroyed the capital Port-au-Prince, but very little of it actually arrived to help the people rebuild their capital. Its the same the world over. Money has become a ‘God’ to the current generation, and people will do whatever they can to get as much as possible. It is my belief that all this will end in tragedy for the human race.

Clean Air – A Necessity

One thing we should not forget is the increasing contamination of our atmosphere. In many cities across the world the smog is so thick that people wear masks to stop it getting into their lungs. If this continues, then the life expectancy of the people will be very low. We will no longer see people living to 80 or 100 years as the pollution destroys their lungs.

Poisoning The Atmosphere

Proposals have been put forward to ban all diesel cars on the roads because this is the number one polluter, but this will never happen. We also have to clean up our factories that push out huge volumes of smoke to  get the atmosphere back to normal, but again this will never happen because of the cost.

Get Ready To Lose Parts Of California and Miami

This atmospheric contamination is causing the sea temperatures and level to rise. It is said in America for example, that in thirty or forty years much of the coastal towns in California and Florida will be taken over by the sea which will cause havoc among those living there. These are not the only cities to be affected as there are many more across the world as sea levels rise. The only thing mankind can do is to stop the atmospheric contamination so things can return to normal. This will take years to accomplish, but governments worldwide have to be strong.

The Aftermath

Perhaps the only answer is for the population of this planet to diminish to perhaps a few million and then mankind will be able to continue its existence. This may happen, what with the current tensions between the USA and Russia. If it escalates then someone may be dumb enough to ‘press the button’ and nuclear war will follow. Mind you, the radiation will spread around the globe and most likely few people will survive. I hope this never happens, but you never know.

The Big Problem

Taking everything into account this world has become a tragedy compared to what it was. Very few countries know the meaning of true peace and just government, and to me its only going to get worse. As it gets worse more people will die, especially the starving in Africa.

Yesteryear The Murderers Paid the Ultimate penalty

Currently the law is useless against criminals and murderers these days in Britain. It is a farce that you can kill someone in England and get a ten year sentence, but are out of prison in three or four years. In my time if you kill someone you would go to the gallows and be done with it. But the ‘Goody Goodies’ have ensured that this is no longer the case, and they keep trying for more lenient prison terms because they think that to go to prison will change the minds of these killers. This is a load of bull (and I put that nicely).

Taking everything into consideration I am glad that I am 74 and not 21. For the world is headed for some major upsets in the years to come.

Not All American’s Are Dumb

Posted in America, Britain, British Humour, Canada, England, European Union, Government, News, USA with tags , , , , on 14/03/2017 by floroy1942

I got a call from a Kansas Congressman’s staffer, who wanted to go to Cape Town. I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information, and then he interrupted me with, ”I’m not trying to make you look stupid, but Cape Town is in Massachusetts ..”
Without trying to make him look stupid, I calmly explained, ”Cape Cod is in Massachusetts , Cape Town is in South Africa ..”  His response — click..

A senior Vermont Congressman called, furious about a Florida package we did. I asked what was wrong with the vacation in Orlando He said he was expecting an ocean-view room. I tried to explain that’s not possible, since Orlando is in the middle of the state.
He replied, ‘Don’t lie to me!, I looked on the map, and Florida is a very THIN state!!”

lb170222cd20170222125435

I got a call from a lawmaker’s wife who asked, ”Is it possible to see England from Canada?”
I said, ”No.”
She said, ”But they look so close on the map”

sk022117dAPR20170221114518

An Illinois Congresswoman called last week. She needed to know how it was possible that her flight from Detroit left at 8:30 a.m., and got to Chicago at 8:33 a.m.
I explained that Michigan was an hour ahead of Illinois , but she couldn’t understand the concept of time zones. Finally, I told her the plane went fast, and she bought that.

tmdsu17030120170303125723

A New York lawmaker, called and asked, ”Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage belongs to whom?” I said, ‘No, why do you ask?’ He replied, ”Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my luggage that said (FAT), and I’m overweight. I think that’s very rude!”
After putting him on hold for a minute, while I looked into it. (I was dying laughing). I came back and explained the city code for Fresno , Ca. is (FAT – Fresno Air Terminal), and the airline was just putting a destination tag on his luggage..

A New Jersey Congressman called to make reservations, ”I want to go from Chicago to Rhino, New York .”
I was at a loss for words. Finally, I said, ”Are you sure that’s the name of the town?”
‘Yes, what flights do you have?” replied the man.
After some searching, I came back with, ”I’m sorry, sir, I’ve looked up every airport code in the country and can’t find a rhino anywhere.”
”The man retorted, ”Oh, don’t be silly! Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!”
So I scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, ”You don’t mean Buffalo , do you?”
The reply? ”Whatever! I knew it was a big animal.”

A Senator, called and had a question about the documents she needed in order to fly to China . After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded her that she needed a visa. “Oh, no I don’t. I’ve been to China many times and never had to have one of those.”
I double checked and sure enough, her stay required a visa. When I told her this she said, ”Look, I’ve been to China four times and every time they have accepted my American Express!”

A Senator called and said, ”I need to fly to Pepsi-Cola , Florida . Do I have to get on one of those little computer planes?”
I asked if she meant fly to Pensacola and fly on a commuter plane.
She said, ”Yeah, whatever, smarty!”

I just got off the phone with a freshman Congressman who asked, ”How do I know which plane to get on?”
I asked him what exactly he meant, to which he replied, ”I was told my flight number is 823, but none of these planes have numbers on them.”

A Senator John Kerry aide called to inquire about a trip package to Hawaii . After going over all the cost info, she asked, ”Would it be cheaper to fly to California and then take the train to Hawaii?”

I had a New Hampshire Congresswoman ask for an aisle seat so that her hair wouldn’t get messed up by being near the window. (On an airplane!)

An aide for a cabinet member once called and asked if he could rent a car in Dallas .. I pulled up the reservation and noticed he had only a 1-hour layover in Dallas … When I asked him why he wanted to rent a car, he said, ”I heard Dallas was a big airport, and we will need a car to drive between gates to save time.”

People can be so funny at times. I hope you enjoyed this.

Things Are Hotting Up!

Posted in America, Britain, Canada, England, European Union, Islamic State, News, Politics, Russia, United Nations with tags , , , , on 12/03/2017 by floroy1942

Its looks to me like things are getting nastier in this world as we now have a new war of words between Turkey and the Netherlands. The country banned entry to a Turkish diplomat who wished to address the large Turkish community in the country.

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu Refused Entry To Holland

This has led to great anger in the Turkish government and also among the Turkish residents in The Netherlands. This is yet another spat between countries that can be added to those already around the world.

There can be no doubt that we are in desperate times, what with the number of problems this world is facing at this time. It makes you wonder how all this will end.

Disagreement Over Syria.

There are major disagreements about how to handle the ISIS problems in Iraq, and the constant threat of terrorists attacks in Europe. Disagreements between Russia and the USA over how to handle the Syrian crisis are still there, and no major efforts have been made to solve this problem.

President Trump has sparked anger with his ban on immigrants from Muslim Countries, plus the removal today of the President of South Korea Park Geun-hye. North Korea is continuing with its nuclear and missile tests which is also raising concern among many nations.

Demonstration

In many countries across the world there is civil unrest aimed at governments and government decisions on various subjects, so it makes you wonder what the future holds. There has never been such turmoil among nations since the Second World War. It makes me wonder where the world is headed, for we face the possibility of major conflicts breaking out in the near future.

The United Nations is keeping very quiet on all these subjects, and the world has not heard a word from them when they should be doing all they can to solve these problems. After all, that is why the UN was formed, to be an open forum for nations to discuss and solve political crisis in the world.

It is certainly time for the UN to step forward and start negotiations with all these countries to try and solve their differences, but unfortunately the UN is a shadow of its former self and has become almost useless.

António Guterres – Maybe He Can Make A Difference

What has it done about the problems in Iraq with ISIS – nothing! In my view it should have got together an International Force and gone to that country and wiped out these people, the same with Nigeria and the many other countries these people infest. It should also have taken positive steps to stop the nuclear threat from North Korea and gone into Ukraine to stop the troubles there. I am sorry to say that the UN has forgotten what its mandate is, i.e. world peace!

Vetoes In The UN.

Agreement can only be reached via the United Nations where countries come together and talk. Talks should be constructive, and each country must be willing to negotiate and surrender to the will of the majority. The veto held by Russia, the United States, China, France and Great Britain must be scrapped so that we can make decisions based on a majority. It does no good when all the countries approve of a decision but it can be scrapped by a single country.  Most times the veto is used because that country is looking out for its own interests.

The general public in the West hear of all this trouble on the news daily, but do not seem interested enough to protest that governments do something about it. Their main concern is that none of this interrupts their own lives. It is a sad indication of our times that people only think of themselves.

The World’s Problems On The News – Forgotten Within Five Minutes

For example, they watch the TV news and hear of the twenty million starving people in Africa, but five minutes later they have forgotten all about it as they concentrate on their own lives. We in the West are so lucky that we do not have to face such problems, but please, spare a thought for those poor people!

A Starving Child

Western governments should be doing all they can to solve crisis such as this by sending money and food to these places and ensuring a fair distribution of it. Unfortunately, with the amount of corruption in the world today, much of this assistance would not reach those in desperate need. If God were to come down and remove all the corrupt people in the world with a wave of his hand most of humanity would disappear.

There can be little doubt that the world is heading for a tumultuous period in its history yet again, and we can only hope that someone takes action to solve all this crisis.

Israel – The Slow But Sure Land Grab.

Posted in America, Arab, Britain, European Union, Israel, Justice, Netanyahu, News, Palestine, United Nations with tags , , , , on 03/02/2017 by floroy1942

What would you say if your neighboring country slowly, bit by bit, started taking over your land and built settlements in your country? Naturally you would be outraged and start doing something about it. So why is the world not doing something about the gradual takeover of Palestinian land by Israel?

Ever since 1947 Israel has expanded its territory into Palestine by building settlements and towns on land that does not belong to them. The Palestinians have complained to the United Nations, and every major country in the world, but all complaints have fallen on deaf ears. If this keeps up, within a few years Palestine will no longer exist because it will have been taken over in its entirety by the Israelis.

In excess of 600,000 Jews live in about 140 settlements built since Israel annexed the West Bank and East Jerusalem after the 1967 war, all on Palestinian land. On Wednesday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was moving ahead with plans to set up a new settlement on the West Bank ‘for the first time in more than two decades’.

The announcement came as Israeli police cleared protesters from the unauthorised settler outpost of Amona. Israel’s Supreme Court has ordered Amona to be dismantled because it was built on private Palestinian land. So why have they not done this before?

The United Nations has for years condemned the land grab by Israel, but they have taken no action to put a stop to it except to vocally condemn the actions of the Israeli government.

How would the American’s feel if Canada or Mexico began building settlements over the border and claiming it for themselves? You can bet your life there would be an uproar of protestation, and it might even get to the stage of military action.

No such thing is taking place in Israel and Palestine, for the Palestinian cries of protest have all fallen on deaf ears for years, thanks to the backing of the United States who are solidly behind Israel. Now with Trump in charge we may see a change in attitude by the United States.

The Shrinking Map Of Palestine

The Shrinking Map Of Palestine

When Israel went to war with the surrounding Arab states in 1967 and 1973 they won convincingly and claimed the Sinai desert as their own. Even when Palestinian fighters fought against Israel to try and save their land they were called terrorists and quickly defeated. Since that time the Israeli borders have pushed back steadily until today, Palestine has all but disappeared.

You can be pretty certain that the small areas still under Palestinian control will disappear in the next few years, and Palestine will be wiped from the map completely to become the State of Israel.

Don’t for one minute think that I am a Palestinian sympathiser for I am not, but this injustice has to have a voice somewhere.

An Interesting View On Why Britain Should Leave The European Union.

Posted in America, Britain, Conservative Party, David Cameron, England, European Union, Germany, Human Rights, News, UK with tags , , , , on 12/03/2016 by floroy1942

A very interesting view on the possibilities of Britain leaving the European Union. This is quoted as being written by the well known author Frederick Forsyth who has had many successful books published. He has laid out the situation in Europe in a very clear and concise manner, as well as giving some foresight into the past and how the Union was formed, and why.

“A long time ago a very wise old man advised me thus: “If ever you are confronted by a highly complex situation and a decision cannot be avoided, never rush to an early emotional judgment. Subject the subject to the four-pronged ARID. It stands for Analyse, Research, Identify and then Decide.”  We all now face the decision: should we continue as obedient members of the EU or should we sever the link? Let me try to apply the old man’s advice.

A

Any country other than a shambolic anarchy must have a government. That said, most governmental systems end with the five-letter “cracy” derived from the Greek for “rule”. There are about 10. We know about autocracy, rule by a single tyrant. There is theocracy, rule by the priestly caste, such as Iran.  Add stratocracy, rule by the army (Egypt) and plutocracy (by the very rich). We have seen gerontocracy, with the reins of power in the hands of the extremely old – the Soviet politburo in its last days. And aristocracy, rule by the nobles, long gone.   But two are with us and visible. One is bureaucracy, government by the officials, the constant competitor for power with rule by the “demos”: the people. Democracy. It is by far the hardest to establish.  It is the most fragile, the easiest to fake with rigged elections, meaningless ceremonies and elaborate charades. I estimate about 100 phoney democracies worldwide. But ours is parliamentary democracy so let’s give it a glance.  Of course it is indirect. We cannot expect the electorate to go to the polls for every tiny decision. So we divide the country into 650 constituencies with one MP for each. The party with the most MPs in Westminster governs for five years. At the pinnacle is the Cabinet and, with encircling junior ministers, forms the Government, which I will call the power.  But there is more. The power is held to account, not five-yearly, not annually or monthly but every day. Doing this is the official Opposition but also the backbench MPs even of the government party. This “holding to account” is vital. Assisting these critics is hopefully a free and unafraid press.

I have travelled very widely, seen the good, the bad and the very ugly and have come firmly to the view that with all its flaws the British parliamentary form of democracy is the best in the world. Not for those in power but for the people who between elections still have a voice. It is against this template that we can judge the system of the EU.

R

Just after the war a group of men, politicians, thinkers, intellectuals and theorists, formed around Frenchman Jean Monnet, became convinced that what they had witnessed at close quarters – the utter destruction of their continent in a vicious war – must never, ever, happen again. It was not a bad view-point, indeed it was a noble one.  They then analysed the problem and came up with two solutions. The first was that the various and disparate nations of Europe west of the Iron Curtain must somehow be unified into one under a single government. They accepted that this might take two, even three generations but must be done. This was not an ignoble vision.  It was their second conclusion to which I take exception. The whole group was mesmerised by one fact. In 1933 the Germans, seized by rabid nationalism, voted Adolf Hitler into power. Their conclusion: the people, any people, were too obtuse, too gullible, too dim ever to be safely entrusted with the power to elect their government.  People’s democracy was flawed and should never be permitted to decide government again if war was to be avoided. Real power would have to be confined to a non-elective body of enlightened minds like theirs.

In the 70 years since, the theory has never changed. It remains exactly the same today. The British Cabinet has power and may delegate that power to a wide range of civil servants: police chiefs, generals, bureaucrats. But it itself remains elective. The people can change it via the polling booth. Not in the EU. The difference is absolutely fundamental. They realised, those founders, that there would have to be façades erected to persuade the gullible that democracy had not been abolished in the new utopia. There is indeed a European Parliament – but with a difference.  In London it is the Commons that is the law-giver, the Upper House is the vetting and endorsing chamber. In Brussels the EU Parliament has no lower house, it is the endorsing chamber. It ratifies what the real power, the non-elective European Commission, has decided.  The broad masses would also have to be convinced that the purpose of the Monnet utopia was economic and thus about prosperity. This untruth has prevailed to this day and is the main plank of the establishment propaganda in our present British decision-making.  In fact the final destination of the EU is entirely political. It is the complete political, legal and constitutional unification of the continent of Europe into a single entity: the State of Europe. This clearly cannot make war against itself, thus guaranteeing peace. Albeit without democracy.

It is amazing how many intelligent people have fallen for this fiction. Thus David Cameron can tell us with a straight face that he repudiates the three pillars of the EU – the doctrine of even closer union, a single external border but no internal ones (Schengen) and a single currency (eurozone) – but still thinks we will sit at the top table. He believes the EU is about trade and tariffs. No, that’s what we thought we joined.

I

Back in the 1960s one British premier (Macmillan) after another (Heath) came to the view that with the empire departing into independence and the USA becoming more protectionist our economic days were numbered. If the world beyond the oceans was not communist it was Third World, meaning impoverished.  Both premiers became convinced the future lay east across the Channel. Back then the union was six countries: Germany, France, Italy, plus minnows Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg. Wealthy, especially Germany, booming. Just the trading partners we needed.  So under Heath we joined the Common Market. As a trading nation for centuries we were delighted to do so. Then the lies began. It would never go further, we were told. The Six became the Nine but all in western Europe.   Heath lied to us. He said there would never be any question of “transfer of significant sovereignty”. He had read the whole Treaty of Rome. No one else had. He knew this was just the tip of the iceberg.

Then in 1992 came the Maastricht Treaty. We were told it was just tidying up loose ends. More lies. It was transformational. It created the European Union. Slowly, decree by decree, rule by rule, law by law, our ancient right to govern ourselves the way we wanted to be governed and by whom was transferred from London to Brussels. Today 60% of all laws are framed in Brussels, not London.  The lies multiplied. The entire establishment, much espoused of power without accountability, has become hugely enamoured of the new governmental system. Less and less need to consult those wretched people, the voters.  It is no coincidence that the five professions that worship power – politicians, bureaucrats, diplomats, quangocrats and lawyers, plus the two that lust for money, bankers/ financiers and tycoons – today constitute almost the whole of the stay-in campaign. Almost to a man.  And the lies proliferate. “There is no intention to proceed to a superstate.” Really? Read the Treaty of Rome. That is the whole point of the EU. What is not said is that in a unified continent there can be no place for the independent, autonomous, self-governing sovereign nation/state.  The two are a contradiction in terms. Only here in the UK is that denied. In Brussels it is accepted as wholly obvious. “The end of nation” is regarded as a work in progress. Endgame is foreseen as a decade, maybe two.

D

The referendum decision of June 23 will be the last ever, the decision permanent. So this is your choice. This is about the country in which we will spend the rest of our lives, the land we will pass on to our children and grandchildren.  What kind of a country, what kind of a governmental system? People’s democracy or officialdom’s empire? Our right to hold power to account or just two duties: to pay and obey? For me it is simple and takes just five words. I want my country back.”

Certainly ‘food for thought’.

The Destruction Of A Nation From The Inside

Posted in America, Britain, David Cameron, Europe, European Union, News, Nuclear Weapons, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, UK with tags , , , , on 14/09/2014 by floroy1942

Strange though it may seem, the United Kingdom is now in more danger than even during the threat of Nazi invasion in  the dark days of 1940. Britain withstood the might of Hitler during the Second World War by fighting the common foe together, but now, sad to say the threat of destruction comes from the inside, and there is no defence.

Sorry! Couldn't Resist A Dig At Alex!

Sorry! Couldn’t Resist A Dig At Alex!

This all due to one man, Alex Salmond and his ambition to go down in history as the man who ‘freed’ Scotland from Britain after three hundred years.

Yes or NoWith now four days to the referendum on Scotland breaking away from the rest of the United Kingdom, the entire country has reached a crisis point from which it will probably never recover.  It does not matter if Salmond gets a Yes or No vote, irreparable damage has already been done.

The biggest worry will be the economic impact of a Yes vote. Many major companies and banks have already said they will leave Scotland if that happens. Even if the No camp win, there will still be major damage to the U.K. economy. The costs either way will be enormous, and as everyone knows, we can’t afford it.

RBS Pulling Out?

RBS Pulling Out Among Others?

Already we have seen investors pull out a massive £16.6 billion from the British economy because they are running scared of the impact of a Yes vote. Many are indicating that economic chaos will follow in the wake of Salmond getting his way. Even the European Union countries are holding their collective breath, scared that he will win. There can be little doubt that economic turmoil will follow if he does, and that will damage the U.K. economy in ways we have not yet thought about. It will also cause major problems on the international stage, for if Scotland breaks away it will no longer be considered a part of the E.U., and needless to say, Britain’s standing in the international community will also be damaged.

HMS Argyll

HMS Argyll

In today’s newspaper reports, the question of defence has been raised due to the demands on our armed forces Salmond is making if he wins. Should the Scottish people vote in favour of separating from the rest of the U.K. he is demanding that we hand over aircraft, ships and Army regiments to the value of £10 billion to form a Scottish Defence Force. The British Navy is at its lowest level for more than 500 years in the number of ships etc., but Salmond is demanding that Westminster provide 2000 sailors, plus reserves to man the two ships he wants. He will also demand RAF ground-crew and equipment to keep his 12 Typhoons in the air.

Should Cameron be obligated to fulfil this agreement, such a small force would never be able to defend Scotland, and it would weaken the U.K. to the extent where we too would be all but helpless.

Britain's Nuclear Deterrent Based At Faslane

Britain’s Nuclear Deterrent Based At Faslane

At such a challenging time in world history I find this extremely disconcerting, for it reduces the effectiveness of Great Britain’s defence capabilities, and international cooperation with the likes of NATO. Other nations have already intimated their concern at such a move. There is currently talk of Britain’s nuclear deterrent having to move to the United States for it would no longer be able to remain at Faslane in Scotland. Can you imagine such a ridiculous situation, our deterrent based in a country 3,500 miles away?

Even if the No camp win the damage has already been done. Cameron and his cronies have promised more devolution for Scotland in such an event as a measure to sway voters into the No camp. Naturally, as you can expect, Wales and Northern Ireland will want their share of that too, which eventually will mean the slow erosion of what was once the United Kingdom.

English Counties

English Counties

I read an article on devolution from London going even further with more power being handed to cities within the country. Its seems they would be allowed to handle tax-raising and spending powers among other things with directly elected mayors. I suppose you could liken the idea to the American State system.

The one thing that is certain is we need a clear-out in Westminster, for the three main parties have done nothing to alleviate the problems within the country. Labour can best be described as traitorous, the Conservatives as gutless, and the Liberals as a waste of space. The way all three parties have handled this Scotland affair among others, certainly leaves a lot to be desired.

Anyway, come Thursday the Scottish people will sign the death-knell for the country my father, and many of yours, died for during the Second World War.

Is It Time For Cameron To Go?

Posted in Children, Conservative Party, David Cameron, England, Europe, Gays, Human Rights, Immigration, News, Parenting with tags , , , , on 31/01/2014 by floroy1942

I never thought I would say this, for I have been willing to give Cameron a chance to right the many wrongs bequeathed to him by the last Labour government. With the latest developments however, I am ready to admit perhaps it is time for him to go.

Syrian Refugees

Syrian Refugees

Two things came up in the last few days that have turned me against him. The first was that Britain immediately stepped to the forefront of all European nations and volunteered to take in hundreds of refugees from the fighting in Syria. While my heart goes out to these poor people, I have to ask why Britain should be in the lead? What about the other European countries like Germany, Holland, France etc. Why did the British government have to be the leader?

I also have to ask, why are the other Arab nations like Saudi Arabia and the many other Middle East nations standing on the sidelines and doing absolutely nothing to (a) stop the war in Syria and (b) doing more to assimilate the refugees?  Sure, they have refugee camps but they are not making any attempt to give these people a proper home by allowing them to integrate into their society. They just maintain the camps and expect European countries to give the refugees a permanent home.

We already have more than enough immigrants in the country thanks to Labour, and now the Tories are opening the door again. We should have stood back and found out how many of these poor people other European countries were willing to take before we jumped in. But no, we have our international reputation to think about!

Time To Think What You Are Doing

Time To Think What You Are Doing

The British tax payer is already carrying a massive burden supporting the hundreds of thousands Labour let in. Now we will have to feed, clothe and house hundreds more refugees.

Another question comes to the fore, are they also to be given British citizenship and become permanent residents like those in Labour times?

While it is right and proper to help these refugees, there should be a limit on how much we do for them. The British people themselves are going through a very tough time and we should be helping our own first. It is a fact that this country just cannot afford to be at the forefront of such things any more. It would seem the Cameron government have still not learnt that lesson.

The second thing that got my goat is the government handing out extra tax payers money to homosexual groups to help them protest at the Sochi Games in Russia. Mr, Cameron, what happens in other countries regarding this issue is none of the British tax payers concern. If these people wish to protest at the stance Russia is taking on this problem then let them pay for it themselves. Why in fact are we giving these people any tax payers money at all? It’s disgraceful!

Miller - She Could Better Keep Her Mouth Closed

Miller – She Could Better Keep Her Mouth Closed

British Culture Secretary Maria Miller has said that giving extra funding to protest groups such as Stonewall was “common sense”(???) so they could make their point at the Olympics. Ms Miller said in an interview: “It’s very important indeed we use the opportunity of the Winter Games to underline the importance of treating people fairly, which is at the heart of the Olympic charter and important to the Olympic movement, We are already putting in place additional support to make sure that gay rights organisations have got the sort of support and expertise that I think can make a real difference with the work they are doing on the ground in Russia.”

To Ms. Miller I have only one thing to say. What goes on in Russia is no business of ours! Russia has never been, nor will ever be a British colony, so we should keep our noses out of other people’s business.

He Is Not Amused!

He Is Not Amused!

Personally, I applaud Mr. Putin’s stance and wish we had done the same, but that will never happen in such a politically correct and human rights minded country like ours. At least the Russians will not be subjected to disgusting ‘Gay’ Parades and all the rest of their propaganda. At least their children will not be educated to think homosexuality is ‘normal’ like ours.

Back to the point, I fail to see what motive the government has for such a radical action. I have no doubt Putin will shrug it off and ensure that anyone making propaganda for the deviants will immediately be arrested and imprisoned, and so they should be. Europe has seen too much of this ‘Human Rights’ crap, and while many of the basic rules are sensible and necessary, they have been manipulated by unscrupulous people (and lawyers) for their own ends.

Gay Parade - Disgusting!

Gay Parade – Disgusting!

We have reached a stage where we cannot deport immigrant criminals or even send them to prison. We have to release criminals early just to satisfy these messed up laws.

Deviants are allowed to marry, and even adopt children before the psychological effects on a child being brought up in such a marriage have even been guessed at. They are allowed to flaunt their deviousness in obscene parades but still, they have their ‘human rights’.

Cameron and his cronies have to learn that, in my view, these two decisions in particular will not go down well with the British public. All he is doing now is drive voters into the UKIP camp.
