So Finally it Begins!

Free Speech! What is it worth to you in our democratic state? I hope it means something, and I hope you consider it worth fighting for because a sneaky, stealthy attack on free speech is underway. Today, a Christian preacher, Dale McAlpine, was arrested in Wokington, England for daring to utter the words ‘Homosexuality is a sin against God and the Bible”  in a public place.

Dale McAlpine – Street Preacher

He was charged under the 1986 Public Order Act, which originally was implemented to combat rowdy football fans, drunks and violent rioters. The man is a devout Christian but it would seem he does not have the right to say publicly what he believes in. Such is the level to which life in England has stooped. He told the Police that he made no reference to homosexuality during his sermon, given from the top of a stepladder, but the words were uttered to a woman who engaged him in conversation. According to the Community Service Police Officer, who is a homosexual and relations officer for homosexual, lesbian, trans-gender and bisexual deviants, he made the statement in a loud voice for all to hear.  The fact that this person is homosexual, and quite probably personally motivated,  I suppose has no bearing on the case!!!! Either way, the unfortunate man was placed in the back of a police van and ‘put through the system’ like a common criminal.

I find it incredible that such a thing could happen in the country of my birth, and one that I love dearly. This simple man was not doing anyone any harm, except for the fact he ruffled the feathers of a pompous, over-bearing and personally motivated community service officer who practically accused him of starting a riot.

Miguel Hayworth

An almost identical situation developed in Manchester at the end of July 2009 when a father and son were reading passages from the Bible on the street and were threatened with arrest for inciting hatred and racism.

What’s He Got We Don’t – FREE SPEECH

It all goes to show that our right to free speech is under attack by small-minded bigots who think the only people allowed to preach their brand of religion are those from minority groups. If Christians do it in a Christian country they are inciting a riot. Balderdash!

As Sam Webster, lawyer for the Religious Institute pointed out, the police “must also support the rights of free speech”, something enshrined in the United Nations Human Rights Charter. It would seem the more rights we get, the less we can use them!

Heaven save us from ourselves.

Crazy? You Couldn’t Make It Up! Season 1 Episode 6

Idiots abound everywhere, and sometimes they get in the news. The last week or so has seen yet another crop of weird stories which highlight the silliness of people and institutions.

The British Government has taken one more step down the road to stupidity with the recent Equality Act. Harriet Harmon’s Bill now decrees that it is an offence to ‘imply that women are not as strong as men’. For this reason, gym instructors have been told that if they warn a woman not to lift weights too heavy for her they can be prosecuted under the equality law because it insinuates women are not as strong as men.

Most gym instructors will give advice to both men and women during activities like weight lifting, for the simple reason they wish to prevent their clients from ‘over-doing’ it and injuring themselves. So if this will be considered sexual discrimination in the future, I wonder what will happen when someone does hurt themselves? Could it mean the complainant sues Harriet Harmon or the gym? A tricky situation for which we will have to wait an answer!!!

As a policeman, especially in the traffic department, you see some strange happenings on the roads. Officers in Weymouth in Dorset England were amazed to see a car being driven through a busy town with the bonnet (hood) fully up blocking the windscreen. When they pulled over the vehicle they found a 53 year-old woman in the driver seat who said her bonnet was faulty and she was on the way to get it fixed.

She was somewhat indignant when the officer suggested she could not see the road and told him she had been looking through the slit between the raised bonnet and the bottom of the windscreen. What a shame she is too old for the Army, she would make a fine tank driver!!!

The same Force pulled over a man using his elbows to steer his car while he rolled a cigarette and read from a clipboard he had on the wheel, and also a woman with three children on the back seat without seat belts. When asked by the officers why she did not have the children wearing seat belts she replied they were ‘not her children’. I can’t quite make up my mind if that is extremely callous, or stupid. Probably both!!!

A company called Proactol Ltd is advertising for a professional ‘couch potato’ with a salary of £23,750 per annum! Really! The job entails sitting all day long eating junk food and watching TV and video’s. The successful applicant will be required to eat Indian ‘take-away’, Macdonalds meals, pizza, fish and chips and other fatty foods for the their period of employment, plus take the company’s product Proactol. You would essentially be a lab-rat for the scientists who are developing Proactol which they hope will absorb 30% of your daily fat intake. I can imagine the applicants will be lining up around the block, and the next one!!!!

Children are without doubt one of the best sources of amusement, and a short time ago they proved it yet again. One thousand children were polled to mark the start of the National Science and Engineering Week in the UK a couple of weeks ago and were asked questions like ‘Who invented the telephone’. Many thought the Queen invented the telephone, that Charles Darwin discovered fire and Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story) was the first man on the moon.

The minds of children are amazing and it makes me wonder who they think invented the aeroplane? Probably Richard Branson!!!

Political correctness is forever in the news these days, usually for something stupid. Like the man at Gatwick Airport who was asked to remove his T shirt by a security guard because the slogan on it may be considered threatening. A compromise was reached when the man turned it inside out. The words on his T shirt; ‘Freedom or die! So the next time you buy a T shirt, take into consideration the feelings of other air passengers and do not buy one that says; Boom!!!

A survey has been carried out among local councils that are gradually changing English street names to reflect current environmental concerns and ethnic diversity. Names like Acacia Street and making way for new names like Eco Avenue, Euro Close and Sustainability Avenue. Among the ethnic diversity names now in use are Masjid Lane (Muslim for mosque), Khadija Walk (prophet Mohammeds first wife). The list goes on and on. I suppose before long streets where the majority of dwellers are ethnic English will be called ‘Infidel’ Street!!!

Another ‘Health and Safety’ cock-up was unearthed by the media at Manor School in Melksham last week when a 5 year-old boy climbed a 20ft tree during the morning break but was left there by the school staff because they would be breaking H & S rules if they helped him down! In accordance with guidelines, they retired to the school building and ‘observed him from a distance in case they distracted him and caused him to fall’. The child was rescued some 45 mins later by a woman who happened to be passing the school and saw him up the tree. The amazing thing is, when she went into the school with the child, instead of thanking her for her assistance the headmaster called the police charging her with trespassing! It would appear we have now reached the situation where the patients run the mental asylum!!!

Until next time, and remember, there are still sane people in the world, they are just harder to find!

Death Penalty Outlawed – and Now Look At the Mess!

Killers Nightmare

As I read the comments of people writing about newspapers articles involving crime recently, it would seem there is an overwhelming desire among the general public to see hanging back in Britain. High profile crimes over the past decade or more, linked with the ever decreasing sentences, appear to have sparked the idea in people’s minds that the death sentence may be the only way to stop the spiralling serious crime rate.

Violent Crime

While 58 nations world-wide still have the death penalty, Britain abolished it in 1969, the last execution taking place in 1964. Human Rights activists labelled the death penalty as “cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment” while Amnesty International considers it to be “the ultimate denial of human rights”. To me, it seems these people do not have a thought in their collective heads for the victims of violent crime, and the savagery meted out by today’s young criminals. Maybe they consider the lives snuffed out by murder and torture to be insignificant. I doubt the relatives of the victims would agree.

There is little doubt in the opinion of many that although Labour has repeatedly promised to be “Tough on Crime” before every election, there has been nothing to show for these empty promises. The rate of serious crime has risen sharply year on year, despite what the official ‘massaged’ figures from government show.

Just Two Years Old

Every day sees a new horror story in the Press of someone who has been brutally murdered, more often than not by children as young as nine. We have only to remember John Venebles and Robert Thompson who led away, tortured, and then savagely murdered little 2 year-old James Bulger. Another case in point is the terrifying ordeal of two youngsters in Edlington who were sadistically tortured and left for dead by two brothers aged ten and eleven.

But it is not only children that form a major threat to law-abiding citizens, there are also career criminals like Waleed Salem who got off scot-free from a charge of aggravated burglary on the home of Munir Hussain. He had 50 previous convictions but had only ever spent a total of 42 days in jail for all of them. In most cases all he got was a community service sentence. After his run in with Munier Hussain he openly boasted outside the court that the law couldn’t touch him, and the sad thing is, he turned out to be right.

Overcrowding?

Because of the overcrowding in prisons, many often violent criminals are released early after serving only a small fraction of their sentence. In a large number of cases, these people go on to re-offend within weeks of release, and sometimes it involves murder. Once again the case of Venebles and Thompson comes to mind with them being released and given new identities after serving only five years for their horrendous crime. As we all now know, Venebles is back ‘inside’.

The ‘Barmy Brigade’ felt they should be released early “because they were only children” and “came from dysfunctional homes”, as if that excused their vicious crime! It is an inexcusable fact that in lower class homes in particular, although not exclusively, parents today have little or no control over their offspring. In fact, I would dare say there is little interest in bringing up children correctly. Judicial punishment for dysfunctional parents is long overdue in my opinion.

Many parents today seem to think it is the schools responsibility to give their children the necessary lessons in good behaviour, so without the required guidance, is it any wonder we have a generation of tearaways and thugs!

Home From Home

With ever shorter sentences and prisons like 5 star hotels, we are in a period where the average criminal has absolutely no fear of Justice? More often than not, even vicious felons get Community Service for a few weeks and are left in the public domain to continue their nefarious trade. It has been proven time and again that this system does not work because the criminal just ignores the whole thing, and usually no-one can be bothered to check up on them, and they know it. So really it is nothing but a gigantic farce.

All this is put in place because the prisons are full, but are we building new prisons? No! Plans have come and gone, but none have been built. You cannot possibly turn hardened criminals from their chosen way of life unless the punishment is so severe they will not dare re-offend. At the moment its quite the reverse in fact.

The “Do Gooders’ and ‘limp-wristed’ Liberals are so set on making prison life as easy as possible with the intention of “giving the criminal a sense of morality and easing them back into society”. Its pretty obvious they have never been attacked or robbed! Prisoners are released on licence for days at a time during their sentence to allow them to ‘get used to being around people again’. There have been cases where criminals have ‘settled old scores’ on such breaks, meaning someone got killed.

The first job of any new government is to get these ‘Goody Goody’ idiots back out on the street where they can do no more harm, and put an end to all this pussy footing around.

There is a good case for bringing back the death penalty in whatever form, for only then will it be driven home to these lowlifes that the public will not stand for it any more. Kill and you will be killed.

There are of course many who stop short of actual murder but commit vicious crimes nevertheless. For these there should be a regime of hard labour awaiting them once convicted. It is time to end the period of criminals lounging around watching TV, using their computers or playing pool. It is time to stop taking young killers out for a day to Manchester or Blackpool, or to the cinema. It is time for more serious sentencing, because I see little point in a Judge sentencing a killer to 20 years with ‘a minimum of eight to be served’. If you give someone 20 years it should BE 20 years end of story, but Oh Damn! We can’t do that because the prisons are full and Amnesty Int. says every prisoner is entitled to his own cell with all the comforts of home! Atishooo! Sorry I’m allergic to bullshit!

Unless we bring back the death sentence for murder, torture and terrorism, start making prison a thing to be feared, and hand down sentences that fit the crime, we as a society are lost, for the crime rate will continue to spiral out of all control. After all, Britain has certainly the highest crime rate in Europe, and is probably only second in the world to the USA. Crime has not escalated to epidemic proportions in most other countries because they are not run by sleazy governments that are soft on crime, and have not handed responsibility for the running of prisons over to idiots. It is way past time that we returned to the strict regime of the 1940’s and 50’s.

Bringing back the death penalty will not only make killers think twice before committing murder, but it should also help to solve the prison overcrowding problem. Mind you, we may end up with a cemetery overcrowding problem then.

Ah Well! I guess you can’t have everything!

Now Homo’s Can Sue the Clergy!

Posted in Children, England, Gays, Homosexuals, Human Rights, Insanity, Justice, Modern World, MP's, Parliament, Relationships, UK, UN, United Nations with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on 04/03/2010 by floroy1942

The time is almost here when homosexuals can sue clergy who refuse to ‘marry’ them in a church. In a new ‘Human Rights’ twist, the latest amendment to Harriet Harman’s Equality Bill could force priests to go against their faith and beliefs, or be sued on the grounds of human rights violations.

Lord Alli at a Gay Parade

A last minute amendment to the Bill introduced by homosexual Peer Lord Waheed Alli in the House of Lords was passed even though the change was introduced too late for any form of debate. It allows for the first time, homosexual ‘marriages’ i.e. Civil Partnerships, to be performed in our churches. While the new amendment does state that these ceremonies may be carried out in places of worship, it also allows for national faith groups to refuse to carry them out. However, according to high ranking politicians and clergymen, this leaves the door open for any priest who refuses to perform the service to be sued by the homosexual couple under the Discrimination Laws of the Human Rights Act.

The Human Rights Act finds its roots in the Declaration of Human Rights introduced by the United Nations Assembly in 1948, and was intended to ensure that everyone is treated equally, based on the standards of the time. When the declaration was drafted, no-one could for-see that during the last three decades the original intention of the Charter was to be hi-jacked by many fringe groups like

Abu Qatada-Used Human Rights Law

non-whites, immigrants and homosexuals, who saw it as a way to get what they want. This includes criminals who have in many instances used the Act as a means to escape justice.

It comes as part of a government attempt to outlaw bias against homosexuals and minority groups, and to my mind is just another ploy by Labour to grab the homosexual vote in the next election. Civil Partnerships have to date been allowed only in non-religious premises like Registry Offices, hotels and stately homes, with places of worship excluded. Now that barrier has been removed.

Although the document states ‘national faith groups will not be forced to carry out civil partnerships’, many believe that same-sex couples will seek redress against clergy who refuse to ‘marry’ them in church under the Equality Bill or Human Rights Act.

Both the Catholic and Anglican Churches stand fast on the 2000 year old doctrine that marriage is a sacred union between a man and a women, and why shouldn’t they?

Lord Waddington

Lord Waddington, a former Home Secretary said; “If this amendment were carried, it would only be a matter of time before it was argued that it was discriminatory for a church incumbent to refuse to allow a civil partnership ceremony to take place when the law allowed it.” He added; “a clergyman prepared to register marriages but not to register civil partnerships would be accused of discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation in the provision of services, and pressure would be brought to bear on him to pocket his principles and do what he believed to be wrong”.

Crucifix

What this means in a nutshell is the clergy would be caught between allegiance to their principles and beliefs, or a costly day in court! It would seem individual priests and clergymen have no human rights at all! Well maybe not so, but shall we say homosexuals have a lot more rights because they know how to milk the system!

There are some churches that welcome the idea of performing civil unions for homosexuals. A group of liberal Jews, Quakers and Unitarians have stepped forth to declare they welcome the idea. This does not however solve the problem for the Catholic and Anglican Churches who hold steadfast on their beliefs.

There is little doubt that homosexuals couples will be lining up at the church doors as soon as this amendment is passed into law, if only to

Togetherness - Bah Humbug!

see if they can get away with it. When that happens, there will doubtless be much soul-searching among the clergy. I cannot see the Catholic Church giving way on this issue, but I hesitate to give the same assurance with regard to the Anglican Church. It is possible they will see no other way than to bow to the inevitable or risk costly law suites by frustrated homosexual couples.

I find it disgusting that this group of misfits cannot be satisfied with what they have achieved already, i.e. legal partnerships under the law and the right to adopt children, but no, they must have their cake and eat it too! Peter Tatchall, a well-known campaigner for homo rights has already stated; “Our next goal is to secure marriage equality, to end the prohibition on lesbian and gay couples having a civil marriage in a registry office.” In other words they want to have the same status and rights, and be properly married in church in the same way normal married couples do. Will these people never be satisfied?

What makes them think they should have the same rights as a married man and woman? To achieve what they are after they will destroy whatever remains of the sanctity of marriage, and destroy whatever morality there is left in the world. It will make a mockery of every normal couples marriage and destroy the last vestiges of decency that exists. Yes! I know it sounds a bit dramatic, but its what I and many others believe, even though we have no say in the matter.

OK! So Who Do I Call Mummy?

And what about the children! So far as homosexuals adopting children is concerned, I find it abhorrent, and in no way believe that any child with two male parents stands any chance of a normal upbringing, despite them not being short on love for the child. Homosexual adoption is as yet in its infancy, and no-one can tell what the long term affects will be on a child’s development. I guess the picture on the left says it all.

Accuse me of ‘gay bashing’ if you like, but  that is not my intention, I just wish they behaved like normal individuals then there would be no need for this blog. I fail to see why normal people must have the ‘gay’ agenda shoved down their throats every day of the year. The disgusting display of men cavorting in skimpy outfits during a ‘gay parade, that normal people would get arrested for wearing in public are a disgrace. Be a homosexual if you wish, but keep it to yourselves, leave the church alone, and stop flaunting your deviance like a badge of honour!

In conclusion I have only this to say, if we throw away the last vestiges of morality and decency we will be left with anarchy.

Hindu Open Air Cremations

Posted in Britain, England, Environment, Human Rights, Immigrants, Insanity, Justice, Parliament, UK with tags , , , , , , , on 11/02/2010 by floroy1942

On the 26th of March last year I reported on the case of Davender Ghai who was challenging a British 1930 Law which prohibited the burning of bodies in the open air. His case rested on his religious beliefs as a Hindu, and the inevitable ‘Human Rights”. Needless to say, he has won the right to be cremated in the open air when he dies. All you need to do these days is mention ‘Human Rights’ and your case is won for you.

The case was reviewed by the Master of the Rolls Lord Neuberger and three other judges. In their opinion, Mr. Ghai’s request could be “accommodated within current cremation legislation”.

At the time, I said that this sort of thing should not be allowed, and today I stand by that. It is common practice in India for all Hindu’s who believe it is the only way for the soul to leave the body and enter the ‘afterlife’. Another ‘quirky’ religious tradition among so many invented by people of all faiths.

However, I feel there is a limit on how far a western democratic nation should go to appease immigrants. Especially when it is so one-sided.

So what now! Has this appeal court opened the floodgates for all Hindu’s to be cremated in the open air? Are we now to see Hindu funeral pyres in the fields if we go for a drive? I guess the next thing will be the setting up of ‘official Hindu cremation sites’ in town market squares across the country at the tax payers expense; forget not that Hindu cremations are public affairs in India!

It is the thin end of the wedge my friends. The British Labour Government, with its ‘multi-cultural’ mania is steadily handing over control of the country to the immigrant population at an ever-increasing pace. This is just one more move in that direction. Pretty soon the British People will have no say whatsoever on affairs in their own country. With this case we open the floodgates to all non-conformists and idiots who only have to scream the words ‘Human Rights” at the top of their voices and get whatever they want. Will we be forced to respect the human rights of some obscure religious group who protest it is essential for an animal or human sacrifice to be made so the spirit may leave the body?

I do not blame Mr. Ghai for this, it is not his fault. He is only trying to depart this life in accordance with his religion. No, the ones that are at fault are Gordon Brown and his cohorts, and the British legal system for pandering to immigrants who are slowly taking over control of the country. The rights of decent British families are being pushed aside to accommodate the more base needs of immigrants who come to our country and expect business as usual and never mind the original inhabitants.

How far down this road is the Labour Party willing to go? I leave you to ponder this question!

Face-book Threats By Prisoners

Posted in Britain, Child Discipline, England, Human Rights, Justice, MP's, Prison, Terrorists, Theft, UK with tags , , , , , , , , , , on 31/01/2010 by floroy1942

Accounts of how prisoners in some of Her Majesty’s Prisons have been able to threaten victims families using Face-Book have come to light during the past week. It begs the question, how is this possible?

The answer is not as complicated as you may think. Britain has gradually become softer on criminals since the abolition of hanging in 1964. Various ‘Human Rights’ and Liberal ‘Civil Liberties’ Groups have steadily degraded the prison system to the extent it has become a chain of five star hotels, where the only punishment served by criminals is a temporary restriction on their liberty. Criminals live in better conditions than the majority of those serving their country in the armed forces.

A criminal, even a murderer, does not serve a suitable punishment for his crime anymore. No longer are they locked away so as to pose no further threat to society. Liberal minded Parole Boards regularly allow hardened felons to be released for days at a time before their prison term has been served ‘to help them integrate back into society‘. Most go straight back to their old ways, and many commit fresh offences even while on these Day Releases.

Killers, pedophiles, rapists, robbers, drug barons and their ilk are looked after in better conditions that the average working-class family in our society. They have all the amenities that many families can only dream about. Food, shelter, clothing, TV (with satellite), games rooms, exercise equipment, library, education, cinema, the list goes on and on. They even went so far as to put curtains on cell windows so the prisoners could not be ‘traumatised’ by the sight of the bars.  All this is provided by the tax payer as a punishment for crimes committed against tax payers!

Our prisons are rife with drugs to the extent that if you never took them in your life, you soon will once you get behind bars. Gang Lords rule the prison population with an iron fist, to the extent the prison warders are nothing more than lackeys in their service. If you ask the one bald question: “Who runs the prisons, the answer must be; The prisoners!

It is high time the Wardens and Governors took back control of our prisons and measures were introduced to make it more like a system of punishment. Strict regimes, prison uniforms, hard work and no TV or games rooms. No contact between visitors and prisoners as in the States which should help reduce the amount of drugs in prison. Warders who ‘work’ for the prisoners by bringing in illicit materials get an immediate six month sentence themselves. This should help stamp out the corruption among prison staff.

Gone in an avalanche of ‘Civil Rights’ campaigning is the strict prison regime that made many a criminal ‘go straight’ for fear of ending back ‘inside’. Criminals do not fear a prison sentence anymore for the simple reason its like a holiday camp.

This is borne out by the steadily increasing crime rate over the past forty years to the extent that the prisons are so overcrowded, Judges have been ordered to reduce custodial sentencing in favour of more community sentencing i.e. ASBO’s etc.

‘Life’ imprisonment now means seven years and not life as the word implies. Even those who get a so-called ‘life’ sentences are often out in five years or less, thanks to the ‘Barmy Do-Gooders’ who think they have ‘learnt their lesson’.

It is sickening to read in the newspapers that a killer or pedophile just released for ‘good behaviour’ after serving a paltry four years of a ‘life’ sentence has struck again within weeks of release. Prisons today are nothing more than ‘Crime Academy’s’ where the not so good criminals get an education on how to ply there trade better.

There is today a major imbalance in sentencing too. If you kill someone in cold blood you will get a lower sentence than if you take part in an assisted suicide for a loved one who is suffering terribly from an incurable disease. Justice is no longer just blind, it is suffering a terminal illness itself.

The subject of youth criminality is nowadays on everyone’s lips as the rate of major crime committed by children as young as eight or nine-years-old escalates out of all proportion. The majority of children who commit murder, and even torture victims in a ninety minute orgy of sadistic savagery as with the Edlington case two weeks ago, can expect no more than three years detention before being released with a new identity to protect them. The question is; How far down this road will we go before Law and Order breaks down completely?

It is time for politicians to stand up and be counted in the fight against crime, for we are losing the battle at an ever increasing rate. The government, from whichever party, must have the guts to stand up to the ‘limp wristed’ Brigade of ‘Do-Gooders’ and start clamping down on sentencing and prison conditions before we all drown in a cesspit of our own making.

It is long past time we got back to justice and prison regimes reminiscent of the 1950’s where criminals feared going back inside. Only by making our prison system a thing to be frightened of, and sentencing that fits the crime, can we hope to get back any form of decency in our society.

In my opinion, though many will disagree, there is a good case for reintroduction of the death penalty into our system of law. In my view, if you are a terrorist, kill in cold blood, commit pre-meditated rape, sodomise a child or invade someone else’s property with the intent of stealing, you forfeit your human rights.

Much was made of mistakes during the years when hanging was legal, which contributed to the removal of this punishment, but today we have far better methods of detection, and forensic science has advanced to the point that being able to pin-point the culprit is no longer a lottery. You will note that the words ‘in cold blood’ were italicised in the previous paragraph. This was done intentionally to indicate that hanging should be considered only in those cases where the crime was pre-meditated.

Pedophiles who commit a second offence should be castrated without the right of appeal, for it is only in that way we can be sure they will never strike again. How much longer must we allow our children to be brutalised by these perverts before we say; ‘Enough is enough’!

It is for sure that we cannot continue with the ‘softly softly’ approach to crime and expect to stamp it out. Our society needs the rule of law to be strong so that it puts an end to the reign of terror on our streets and in our homes.

Part of the problem these days is that no-one wants to get involved. So long as it doesn’t affect you personally, why should you bother? As a society, we have become so insulated within ourselves that we have no stomach for taking action for the good of all. Everyone sympathises with a mother who just had her ten-year-old knifed to death on the street in full view of many, but are we prepared to actually do something to stop this in the future?

The simple answer is; NO! We do not have the guts to stand up to these idiots who think they know what is best for the criminals and our society in general. Well, it is time, for time is running out for the reassertion of law and order on our streets. Only the people can change things by demanding their politicians take action before it is too late, and we sink into total anarchy. If, as a people, we take no action on this issue, we will most certainly deserve what the future holds for us.

It is time to stand up and be counted.

IT’S – A – GAME – FOR – CRYING – OUT – LOUD!!!

Posted in Human Rights, Insanity, Modern World, Torture, World War 2 with tags , , , , , , on 25/11/2009 by floroy1942

Did you know that if you play a war scenario video game today you can be prosecuted under the Geneva Convention? Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it! Just as ridiculous as two idiotic Swiss Human Rights groups sitting at a computer and playing 20 modern video games to see if the action in them broke the Geneva Convention.

The ‘testers’ looked at three specific areas of combat, namely, disproportionate destruction of property, how surrendering combatants were treated, and what happened to civilians caught in the war zone.

They issued a press release complaining that games such as Army of Two, Call of Duty 5, Far Cry and Conflict Desert Storm among others permit virtual war crimes. The report condemned games for “allowing the wanton destruction of homes and buildings, killing civilians, and torturing captives”. A-tishooo!

Each of the twenty games were tested to see “whether certain scenes and acts committed by players would constitute violations of international law if they were real, rather than virtual”. IT’S – A – GAME – FOR – CRYING – OUT – LOUD!!!!!!

Each of the groups players had a lawyer present beside them to decide when human rights abuses were committed. The report concluded that “The practically complete absence of rules or sanctions is… astonishing,”

The report went further saying; “the line between the virtual and real experience becomes blurred and the game becomes a simulation of real-life situations on the battlefield.” Becomes blurred?????? A-tishooo!

They complained that ‘protected objects’ like churches and mosques were attacked, and prisoners were subjected to degradation! A-tishooo!

I know that gamers do not get reality mixed with virtuality. How could anyone sitting at a computer playing a game even begin to think they are actually ON a real battlefield????? It’s just too bizaar for words.

The groups did at least admit that it was not clear from the games the scale of the conflict being depicted. This did make it difficult to decide which humanitarian laws should be enforced.

They went on to state that even though players would not become real world combatants, the games could influence peoples perception of what real war was like, and how soldiers conduct themselves in a real conflict. A-tishooo!

A further complaint was that most games did not inform the player that those who “violate international humanitarian law end up as war criminals, not as winners”. A-tishooo! Sorry, I’m allergic to bulls**t!

It is a fact that many serving soldiers do play these games during their off-duty periods, but I have yet to hear of one committing offences against the Geneva Convention because of it.

A writer for a well known blog made the following comment on the findings; “there was plenty of evidence that gaming violence is ‘fully processed’ as fantasy by gamers. Studies of soldiers on the front line in Iraq showed that being a gamer did not desensitise them to what they witnessed”.

He added: “Perhaps what this research demonstrates is that the researchers misunderstand what games are, and how they are treated, intellectually, by the people who play them.” Well said Sir! At least someone has all thier i’s dotted! These people should realise that gamers are not stupid.

I find it incredible that a once well respected organization should belittle itself with this sort of stupidity. In the past these people did valuable work across the world, but for the last ten years it seems to be in the hands of stupid fanatics who think they have the right to meddle where they please.

They trumpet their support for terrorism by shouting their heads off when a convicted terrorist is to be deported back to his own country and cries “If you send me back I will be tortured”! Before you know it they are on the doorstep of the government with placards, “You are denying this man his human rights!”.

Where will they strike next, the film industry, books???

Will all the films we watch be vetted by Amnesty International for human rights transgressions? Will all book writers have to comply with the Geneva Convention?

This whole scenario has to be one from the looney bin, and I for one am going to consign it to the trash.

Fight on game warrior. Don’t let the bug**** grind you down!

Roy.
