Try Next Door

Try Next Door

From all the recent news bulletins about the influx of refugees you must get the idea that the Europe Union is currently an utter shambles. With the the current crisis no other conclusion is possible.

The politicians do not seem the grasp the severity of what they are doing, or failing to do, and no-one seems capable of making the right decisions. Currently the migrants are being halted in Greece, which is totally incapable of handling the crisis on their own and they seem to be getting no direct help from the rest of Europe apart from the promise of 700m Euros at some time in the future.

When Merkel opened her big mouth last year openly inviting refugees to Germany, she had no idea that her country would suddenly be swamped with refugees to the tune of 1.25m in just a few months of 2015, and believe me, we have seen nothing yet.

In the first six weeks of this year alone 80,000 migrants reached the shores of Europe, mainly through Turkey and the Greek islands. Experts are certain that this year we will see more than 1m crossing into Europe, with some estimates as high as 2m. Any sane person must realize that this is totally unsustainable, for we already have unending problems with those that arrived last year.

Middle East Refugee Reception

Middle East Refugee Reception

It is well recorded that around two thirds are purely economic migrants from countries that are not at war like Syria and Iraq, and it is equally obvious that Germany cannot house and feed them all. This is the reason why Merkel is trying to offload so many onto other European countries, but the end effect is that many of these countries are closing their borders to the migrants, which leaves Greece to ‘carry the can’.

Today (7/3/2016) it seems that the E.U. is holding a meeting to permanently seal the border with Greece to prevent these people moving north into other areas of the E.U. This is unacceptable as they should be doing everything possible to halt the flow from Turkey.

The politicians in Brussels seem totally incapable of handling this crisis as they dither and argue about what should happen. In my view, the only sure way out of the this crisis is to shut the door to all of Europe, at least until the current mess is sorted out. This will mean sending them all back to where they came from as soon as they arrive.

As summer approaches it is obvious that the number of migrants will increase ten-fold as more and more cross the Mediterranean to the shores of Greece and Italy. It is clear that Europe has not been able to handle the 1.25m migrants from last year, so what makes the politicians think they can handle another million this year. Before year’s end the continent will have been literally swamped with these people unless drastic action is taken to halt the flow. This means turning back all those who try to get here until the message gets through that we cannot take any more.

It will be hard to take this stance, but for the sake of the future of Europe, I see no other way. Economy’s have been hit hard by the problems of the last ten years and we are by no means out of the woods yet. With the economies of the various nations in trouble this will only drag us further into the mire until the entire system collapses, but the politicians in Brussels just do not seem to appreciate the fact.

Taking Germany as an example, just how does Merkel and her cohorts think that their nation can house, feed and provide jobs for 1.25m plus another million at least this year. The answer is, it’s impossible! The same goes for other European countries. By the end of this year, with another 1m+ coming to European shores the problems will only intensify.

Germany may need to increase its population due to the slowing of the birthrate among ethnic Germans, but to invite Muslims into your country in such numbers is not the answer. Merkel should have been intelligent enough to use a more controlled immigration system where she would have been able to pick and choose who entered the country.

On top of all this, there is no way that the migrants will properly integrate into European society. We have seen this over the past eighteen years or so in Britain, which should have been a lesson to Merkel.

Muslim Rape

Muslim Rape

Already in  Germany we have seen a marked increase in attacks on women because the Muslims seem to think that it is their right to rape any western women they come across whenever they feel like it, and don’t forget that such actions are allowed by the Qur’an!

Just as in England, the Muslims will begin taking over entire neighbourhoods in towns and cities as their numbers increase. Once established, their demands will become more and more evident as they try to change the country to suit their way of life. There can be little doubt this is the biggest crisis to hit Europe since the Second World War.

The trouble is, I for one do not see a way out of the problem because the politicians in Brussels seem totally unable to get a grip of the crisis. Many countries like Hungary, Chechnya and Macedonia have taken unilateral action and closed their borders and want nothing to do with the migrants.

All E.U. countries should be assisting Greece and Italy by using their Navies to turn back any migrant boats trying to cross the Mediterranean. This must continue until the migrants, and more importantly the people smugglers get the message and the flow stops. These people will need to turn to their own kind in the Middle East countries for the help they need, for most of these countries have done nothing to assist their fellow Muslims.

The governments of Iraq and Syria are doing nothing to help their own people in the war-torn areas and are quite happy to offload these people onto Europe, when they should be doing all they can to help their own.

As for the economic migrants, they should be swiftly weeded out and returned without delay to their homeland. Once the message gets through we should see the numbers of those trying to get into Europe fall drastically.

Unless our stupid politicians start taking some sensible steps to halt the flow of migrants Europe will cease to exist, and God help us all when the Muslims finally take over. Don’t think for one minute that this is impossible.

The ideology of Islam strictly forbids integration into our western way of life because the rules are very strict, and not forgetting that all Muslims are brainwashed from birth to follow the teachings of Allah.

You only have to look at all the press photographs to see that the greater majority of ‘refugees’ are all young men without families. It is certain that many are members of Islamic State, and literally thousands of them have already crossed into Europe hidden among the refugees. Once they get organized we will see many attacks of the kind that hit Paris a short time ago. Given time we could see open warfare on the streets of our towns and cities. God help us all!

Not Much Sympathy In Europe Right Now!

Merkels Legacy

Merkel’s Legacy

Compassion in Europe for refugees is diminishing daily as people realize the full stupidity of Angela Merkel opening the doors to Germany and the rest of Europe to them.

More and more people are beginning to understand just what it means when 1.1 million people suddenly flood into Europe, and the major problems this has caused all across the continent.

Thanks to Merkel’s generosity last year, the news that we can now expect a further four million refugees during 2016 has got the likes of Merkel and her government in a panic, for they did not anticipate this when they opened the gates to Germany last year. They should have taken a lesson from Tony Blair’s mistake when he opened the gates to Britain eighteen years ago.

As you would expect, once they had arrived the refugees were so grateful for the help they received after escaping the tragedy taking place in their homelands, but it did not take long for that to change. Once the initial euphoria had worn off they began to make more and more trouble.

Now European residents are beginning to see the real face of these refugees as trouble erupts. The people in many countries are now waking up to the very real threat posed by them.

Muslim Sex Assualt

Muslim Sex Assualt

The New Year celebrations in Cologne and Stuttgart (among other places) where women were molested and raped by immigrants has been a sharp eye opener for many, and a good indication of what the future holds for Germany and Europe. All I can say to that, based on the experiences in the U.K. is: Get used to it!

Attacks In Germany

Attacks In Germany

But what is happening now is the tip of the iceberg, for as these people get more accustomed to our ways their demands will grow. Many Europeans may not wish to believe it, but it has been proven in Great Britain.  Once they are settled we can expect them to take over entire portions of towns and cities as they have done in Britain, and a demand for mosques to be built so they can pray. They will bleed the economies of countries dry as we are forced to support them with benefit payments and housing.

As previously reported, around two thirds of them are economic refugees who have taken advantage of Merkel’s open door policy, and to weed them out will be extremely difficult as they all claim to be from Syria or Iraq. This will take time, and until this is accomplished they must be housed and fed. Whichever way you look at it, this will lead to a catastrophic economic problem for the whole of Europe.

They Will Soon Change Their Minds

They Will Soon Change Their Minds

Sweden it seems is at least trying to separate the economic refugees from the genuine ones, and has said that around half of the migrants will be sent back over the next two years. This decision may well in part be due to the fact that many Swedish people are coming out against the wave of around 160.000 migrants that entered the country. Just recently masked gangs have been attacking migrants on the streets.

Girls In Danger

Girls In Danger

Much the same thing is happening in Germany where there has been a grenade attack against migrants in the southern town of  Villingen-Schwenningen. Luckily for many the grenade failed to detonate. There have also been many attacks on refugees on the streets and against the areas where they are housed.

Pegida Movement

Pegida Movement

At the moment most of these attacks on migrants are being blamed on right-wing organizations, but there have been many demonstrations by citizens across Europe against the government’s plans. One of the first was by the Pegida Movement in Germany some months ago where citizens protested at the influx of  refugees. As more and more pour in it is certain that this will increase as the months go by.

All these actions have led governments, in particular Germany, to rethink its options especially as it is predicted that a further four million refugees are headed our way this year. Many countries are looking for ways to stop the invasion before it gets out of hand, including forcing Greece out of the Schengen Zone so that fences can be built on its northern borders to stop these people from entering central Europe. If this happens it will be a catastrophe for Greece and no-one has a proper answer to the problem.

The Spread Of Anti-Refugee Entry Control

The Spread Of Anti-Refugee Entry Control

Some countries like Hungary and Bulgaria have already stated that they will not take any refugees at all and have built fences along their borders to keep them out. Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Macedonia have all instigated strict border controls.

Muslim Reaction To Christian Aid Workers

Muslim Reaction To Christian Aid Workers

Just this week Merkel has made it known that the migrants will have to return to their homeland once the trouble is over, but how long that will take no-one knows. She can also not guarantee that her plan will work for once they are settled here most will not wish to return.

The big question remains on how European governments hope to prevent the the anticipated four million refugees from crossing into Europe this year. What will they do, make them turn their boats around and sail back to where they came from?

A Message

A Message

Some effort is being made to try and make the North African countries like Libya, Algeria and Morocco put the people traffickers out of business, but that will be next to impossible. It will not affect the crossings from Turkey to the Greek Islands.

Within a month or so the volume of refugees crossing the Aegean from Turkey and the Mediterranean from the North African coast will start to pick up and then we will see how effective Merkel’s plan is. I rather suspect it will not diminish the crossings one iota.

Border Fence

Border Fence

For the European Union to close its borders with Greece and Italy will spell the end of these two nations, for neither can afford to house and care for the numbers anticipated this year.

As I see it, the only way to stop the crossings is for E.U. Navy ships to patrol these coasts and force the boats back to the shore. The only other way is for them to be rounded up once they land and immediately ship them back where they came from.

What A Joke!

What A Joke!

There is one other way that will end the problem once and for all and that is through the United Nations. With all the problems across the world with Muslim terror groups the U.N. has sat on its hands and done nothing except verbally ‘condemn’ certain actions by the terrorists. Perhaps the whole European Union should band together and force Ban Ki-Moon into taking some positive action against these groups like ISIS, Boko Haram and the rest. If an international force were to go in against these terrorists and wipe them out then refugees would no longer need to flee the war and hardship they face on a daily basis.

Somehow there has to be a solution to this problem, because otherwise we can look to very many problems in the future, including in time, the Islamization of Europe.

Refugees – And Now The Panic Begins!

Posted in Al Quada, America, Britain, England, European Union, Germany, Immigration, Muslim, News, United Nations with tags , , , , on 28/01/2016 by floroy1942

1I never thought I would see the day, but now European Union countries are beginning to really panic about the number of refugees entering the continent. After the major influx of one million last year experts were saying that we could expect another two million this year, but now their estimate has gone up to four million.

NOT ANY MORE!

NOT ANY MORE!

This of course is due to the ready acceptance of so many refugees last year, particularly by Germany, and Europe is now seen as a golden opportunity by millions more. Even during the treacherous winter months people are still trying to get to Europe through Greece by crossing the Aegean Sea from Turkey. Many have died in the attempt, but it has not deterred anyone.

In the coming months we can expect the volume of refugees to increase greatly as the weather improves, and that is scaring many European countries.

It is clear that Europe has not been able to successfully integrate the million that reached our shores last year, which means that a further four million this year will no doubt cause the collapse of the entire Union.

Still Coming Even In Winter

Still Coming Even In Winter

To combat this Belgium, Austria and Sweden are proposing that Greece be excluded from the free travel Schengen Zone so that fences can be erected along its northern border to stop the refugees from getting any further into Europe. This would mean that Greece, although on the verge of bankruptcy, would have to care for all the refugees crossing into Europe on its own. As you can imagine, this is an absolute impossibility.

Austrian interior minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner made the following remark on the subject: “If we cannot protect the external EU border, the Greek-Turkish border, then the Schengen external border will move towards central Europe. It is a myth that the Greek-Turkish border cannot be protected. The Greek navy has enough capacities to secure this border. It is one of the biggest navies in Europe.”

It might be a temporary solution to the problem, but as the weather gets better more and more refugees will switch to crossing from Libya to Italy as they did last year. What will the E.U. do then, ban Italy also, and later Spain?

Swarming Into Europe

Swarming Into Europe

This is indeed a very serious problem for Europe, and it all started when Angela Merkel stupidly opened her big mouth and invited refugees to Germany. As I have mentioned before, this is exactly what the traitor Tony Blair did to Britain at the end of the nineties, and look at the state of the place now.  With this massive influx of migrants the same thing is going to happen to Germany and the rest of Europe.

It is not fair to allow Greece to take the brunt of the criticism, for this whole catastrophe is not that country’s fault, for if anyone is to blame it must be Germany and Merkel.

The only solution is to weed out and return the economic refugees to their country of origin, for they made up two-thirds of last years influx, and then refuse entry to all those who wish to enter this year. All countries need to participate in the procedure by helping out Greece, Italy and Spain with their border controls.

There can be little doubt that this will cause mayhem in international politics for country after country will be protesting at the inhumane response to the refugee crisis but the simple answer is: “If you don’t like it then YOU take them in!”

On top of this, political pressure should be put on the countries bordering the other side of the Mediterranean to put the smugglers out of action and stem the flow of those trying to make it across.

Radical Islam

Radical Islam

Both of these are really temporary measures, for the prime target must be to end the turmoil in the Middle East by putting all the terrorist groups in the ground. I have said it many times before, but this world crisis will never end until the United Nations sanction direct action to eliminate totally groups like Islamic State, Boko Haram, al Shabab, al Qaeda and all the rest of them. It needs to be an international effort to eradicate all terror groups  in the world wherever they hide. Only then can the refugees go home and the world live in peace.

Europe In 2016?

Posted in Britain, European Union, Immigration, Islamic Revolution, Muslim, News, Politics, Terrorism, UK, USA with tags , , , , on 29/12/2015 by floroy1942
The Swarm

The Swarm

During 2015 more than a million refugees have flooded into Europe from many countries, and due to the impossibility of dealing with such large numbers most will be allowed to stay, even though two-thirds of them are economic migrants. Already this influx has put great strain on the resources of many countries as they try to house and care for them. But what of next year?

We can expect the numbers to drop significantly during the winter, but when the weather gets better in the spring, what then? Experts have already assured us that next year we can expect more than two million to attempt to enter Europe due to the success of so many this year.

Just A Simple Question!

Just A Simple Question!

For most people living in Middle Eastern countries, and others like Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Africa, Europe is the ‘Promised Land’ of opportunity and they will do anything to get here, especially now that Angela Merkel has opened the doors wide, just like Tony Blair did for Britain.

It will be a massive struggle, and a severe drain on our resources to care for all those that have entered this year, but next year, if the experts are right, it may well lead to the total collapse of the European economy and severe hardship for the people.

Pegida in Germany - An Example

Pegida in Germany – An Example

If our people are to have a life in the future this has to stop, for governments cannot support these numbers because there will be intolerable strain on the social assistance resources and there is just not enough jobs or housing for these refugees. Already there have been many instances of demonstrations and acts of aggression by the people against those that have come this year, and if as the experts expect, we end up with another two million next year all hell will break loose.

It is indeed a sorry state of affairs that our politicians do not heed the voice of the people when they know we are against such a thing. I am sure Angela Merkel had no idea of the problems she would cause when she made her rash comment in welcoming all refugees to Germany. Had she sat back and thought about it for even a minute she may well not have said what she did. But unfortunately she did and now the entire continent is in an uproar. She has unwittingly condemned many countries in Europe to a period of extreme hardship as they try to cater for the refugees.

So Happy To Be Here And So Grateful For Our Generosity

So Happy To Be Here And So Grateful For Our Generosity

Personally, I think that unless it is made clear to all nations that we will not accept any more refugees in such numbers, either now or in the future, there will be blood on the streets as the European people react when their anger boils over. What we have experienced so far in the way of demonstrations and attacks will be but a drop in the ocean compared to what is coming.

On the other side of the coin, as their numbers increase the Muslims will intensify their activities to change the face of Europe to be more in line with their way of life. It has been proven that when Muslims reach a certain percentage of the population they will exert more and more pressure on the lives of those that took them in.

After A Short While In The Country No Longer Grateful But Showing Their True Colours

After A Short While In The Country No Longer Grateful But Showing Their True Colours

We see this daily in Britain with their demands for halal food, taking over schools, more mosques, areas of towns and cities with Sharia Law and a total disregard for the British way of life. This will happen in Germany too once they get themselves established, and that you can take to the bank.

With Muslims Next Door To Dress Like This Is Tempting Fate!

With Muslims Next Door To Dress Like This Is Tempting Fate!

In many areas of Britain where they have all but taken over, English women and girls are no longer safe on the streets after dark because rape is condoned by the Qur’an in the Islāmic religion. Some German school headmasters have already warned parents about allowing girls to wear short skirts or see-through blouses on the streets. To many Muslims this is an open invitation.

Muslims Taking Over Entire Towns

Muslims Taking Over Entire Towns

There can be little doubt that in time many things will change within Europe as this new wave of Muslims assert their place in our society. The creep of Islam into European culture is becoming stronger and faster as the years go by, and they are influencing more and more the lives of the European people. The sad thing is, our politicians just do not recognize the dangers associated with it.

If as predicted we see a further two million refugees swarming ashore in Greece and Italy next year, then it will certainly not be long before Islam begins to show its muscles within Europe and the lives of every native will be changed for ever.

“Which do you fancy darling, this black burqa or that black burqa?”

This Just CANNOT Continue!

Calais

Calais

Although the tensions in Calais seem to have diminished, there are other parts of Europe that are struggling to deal with the immigrant crisis, and still the EU Council does nothing.

It makes me wonder why we bother having politicians at all, because apart from laying down stupid rules that no-one wants they never seem to be able to deal with a real crisis.

While Britain and France have struggled to control the thousands of migrants who are trying to cross over into Britain they have not lifted a finger to assist.

Bulgaria Refugee Camp

Bulgaria Refugee Camp

Now we also have a crisis in Italy, Greece, the Greek Islands and Bulgaria, all being over-run by migrants wanting to settle in Europe. So far this year a total of 350,000 migrants have landed on European shores, which is an increase of 175% over the same period last year. At this rate it will be close to a million by the end of the year. Should Europe take them all in and be done with it, or should we begin shipping many of them back where they came from?

Pakistan 'Refugees'

Pakistan ‘Refugees’

From news broadcasts it is clear that a large majority of ‘refugees’ are from Pakistan and they all want to settle here. Why? There is no war in Pakistan, but they are here because they are economic refugees and see an easy future in Europe. To begin with I think all those from Pakistan should be immediately repatriated to their own country which will take a great strain off our resources.

Many Are From Islamic State

Many Are From Islamic State

Some may find my stance on this issue harsh, but we cannot allow a whole continent to be swamped by refugees when the majority are here purely for economic reasons. While I have sympathy with those who are fleeing war, I have none for those who are coming here for an easy life. Plus the fact, how do we tell those belonging to Islamic State from genuine refugees?

If we accepted only genuine refugees from war-torn countries like Iraq the numbers would be more than halved, but the economic refugees only see Europe as somewhere to feather their nests!

One should not forget that for every migrant allowed to stay in Europe there will be a whole line of family following them. Wives, children, parents, grand-parents, uncles, aunts and their children, the list is endless, and how are we supposed to cater for this mass influx? Most will be living off benefits, especially in Britain which is an easy target for these people.

Kos - Immigrants Taking Over Tourist Hotels

Kos – Immigrants Taking Over Tourist Hotels

This invasion of people is crippling the economies of countries like Italy, Greece and Bulgaria and currently there is no answer, especially from the European Union idiots in Brussels! They just sit in their ivory tower and take no notice, probably hoping the whole crisis will disappear of its own accord. I have news for them: IT WILL NOT!

The situation in Bulgaria is now becoming desperate, for this year official data shows 25,000 people have applied for refugee status in Bulgaria in the past two years, as many as in the previous two decades combined. That may not sound like many but you have to remember that the country is both poor and small, and relies on EU financial support to receive and provide shelter, medical care and food for over 3,500 refugees housed in camps, and has already used 80 percent of the 4.2 million euros it received to that end.

Border FenceThings have become so desperate in the country that they have begun fencing off their border with Turkey, much like Hungary on its border with Serbia. No matter how desperate the situation in the country the usual ‘bleeding hearts’ people have condemned the move to put up the fence. Boris Cheshirkov, spokesman for the Bulgarian office of UNHCR is quoted as saying, “The barriers, not only in Bulgaria, are only increasing the risks to the people in a desperate situation, fleeing from war – but force them to put their lives in danger in the hands of smugglers and human traffickers,”

Boris Cheshirkov, Spokesman For The Bulgarian Office Of UNHCR

Boris Cheshirkov, Spokesman For The Bulgarian Office Of UNHCR

As you would expect, Human Rights groups and the United Nations’ refugee agency UNHCR have criticised the border fence, saying that barriers will not stop the refugee inflows. What these people forget is that the greater majority of ‘refugees’ coming to Europe are coming for economic reasons! They are not fleeing war in their homeland!

However, the problems in Bulgaria are nothing compared to those in Greece and Italy. As we all know, Greece is surviving on handouts from the ICC and the IMF but the refugee crisis is straining it to the limits. Only last week a total of 21,000 refugees landed on Greek shores. How much longer can the economy stand this pressure? We have all seen on the news the tens of thousands of migrants jamming the island of Kos among others. There are so many that removing them is a mighty task and costing millions of euros.

Enoch Powell

Enoch Powell

The simple answer is, this just cannot go on. Every day I read the comments of ordinary people on news items on the internet and it is clear they are close to having had enough. The governments will not take decisive action to solve this crisis and allow more and more to come to our shores. But every one that is successful gives ten more the idea that they too will be accepted. As I said, for every one that makes it there follows maybe twenty or more family members. This just cannot go on for if it does it will destroy Europe, its infrastructure, its economy and health care system. Eventually, as Enoch Powell predicted so long ago, there will be blood on the streets.

Time For Decisive Action Mr. Moon!

Time For Decisive Action Mr. Moon!

Europe desperately needs its government to make some decisive decisions to solve this crisis once and for all before we are swamped. But it is not only the E.U. that needs to get off its fat backside, but also the United Nations who could solve this entire crisis with a series of actions. I have often said on these pages that the U.N. must get together an international military force to go from country to country and wipe out all these terrorist groups that are responsible for this refugee debacle.

Is This What You Want For The World Mr. Moon?

Is This What You Want For The World Mr. Moon?

They should wipe out all groups like Islamic State, Boko Haram, al Shebab plus all the other 176 terrorist groups that infest this world. Once this is done all the refugees can go home and everything can return to normal. To many this may sound like an impossible task, but believe me, it is not! The U.N. acted 65 years ago when the North Koreans, under influence from the USSR attacked the south and solved the crisis. They can do the same with this one. It just needs someone with the balls to get things moving.

To Beat Austerity Measures, Pay Your Taxes

Posted in Benefits, Budget Cuts, Europe, Government Spending, Spain with tags , , , , , on 22/02/2013 by floroy1942

The people in both Spain and Greece have made it known they are fed up with their governments austerity measures, but in part, they are the ones making them necessary. The number of tax dodgers is rising day by day, and that fact alone means governments are not getting the money they need to get the economy back on its feet.

More People Want Cash Transactions

More People Want Cash Transactions

I can talk from personal experience here in Spain, because when someone does something for you here they invariably ask for cash instead of a card payment or bank transfer. Why? Because a cash payment does not go through the bank and is therefore not recorded, hence they do not have to pay tax on it. Even some shops will only take cash now as the economic squeeze bites. Many big businesses are not paying the level of taxation they should, and this too is hurting the economy.

Falling House Prices In Spain

Building Boom Collapse

The government is hemorrhaging money to keep the economy afloat and the ever-increasing number of tax dodgers only makes the situation worse.  Both the Spanish and Greek governments are struggling to pay social security and unemployment benefit to those who need it, and the number of unemployed is rising daily, which only increases the load.

With prices rising, pensions and benefits being cut, people are looking for any way possible to make ends meet and the most obvious is to avoid paying taxes. It is a cycle for destruction of the entire economy and both countries are heading into the abyss.

A Comparison Of Tax Evasion By Country

A Comparison Of Tax Evasion By Country

The Greeks have always avoided paying the proper level of taxes on a massive scale, and that is the main reason for the breakdown of their economy in the first place. Spain is now going down the same road. I do not blame just the people, for the governments of both countries need to get their spending priorities right and make the paying of taxes fair across the whole population.

The Greek Rich Are Moving Their Money Overseas

The Greek Rich Are Moving Their Money Overseas

Many super rich in Greece have not paid taxes for decades because they were bringing investment and money into the country, and the ordinary people had to carry the load, although most of them avoided paying their full share through corrupt tax officials. In the last few years the rich have been moving their capital out of the country to off-shore accounts to avoid heavy tax bills. Many of them have so much money they could probably settle the Greek debt on their own. It’s the old story; if you are rich you can easily move your money around, unlike the man in the street.

Unfinished Apartments Due To The Building Trade Collapse

Unfinished Apartments Due To The Building Trade Collapse

The big problem with Spain, unlike Greece, is that the catalyst for this current debacle was that everyone put ‘all their eggs in one basket’, i.e. the building industry. The collapse of the banks, coupled with the massive fall in property prices and the related stagnation of the building trade put Spain on the road to economic collapse.

Keeping Out The Stench Of Corruption

Keeping Out The Stench Of Corruption

Corruption has also cost the economy dear with just about anyone in a responsible position taking bribes and in some cases, skimming money. The April 7 2006 arrest of practically the entire local council of Marbella on corruption charges is a prime example. Recent allegations of corruption have even been made by the press against the current Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rahoy and his Party, although it is not for me to speculate on whether they are true or not. Since that time Rahoy has stated that he will crack down on corrupt practices in both national and local government, but that is hard to do when most people are at it. I wish him luck.

Austerity – Do We Need It?

Posted in Benefits, Britain, Budget Cuts, David Cameron, England, Europe, Government Spending, Immigrants, Old Age Pensioner, UK with tags , , , on 20/10/2012 by floroy1942

Austerity is currently a dirty word in many countries across Europe at the moment, and with good reason. Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Holland and now the UK, are experiencing demonstrations about the measures governments are being forced to take to rein in booming debt levels. In countries like Greece and France they have had much the appearance of open warfare between the public and the police with cars being set alight by demonstrators and rubber bullets fired by police.

The Deadly Duo

The people have seen cuts to their salaries, increased taxes, and major reductions in social welfare as the government seeks to overcome the massive debt burden they carry through mismanagement by previous governments during the ‘good years’. In the past, many across Europe were throwing money away at any project that would keep them in power, Britain’s Labour Party under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown are a prime example of this. It all came to a head with the banking crisis when huge sums of public money had to be used to bail out the greedy ‘fat cats’ who run our banks. After that things just went downhill.

But the reasons for the current crisis are different for many countries. In Greece for example, the main cause has been tax dodging by most of the population and basic corruption, coupled with very poor management of nationalized services like the train network which was running at a multimillion loss for years. In Spain much of the cause was the sudden bursting of the housing bubble, and extremely poor efficiency in government and local departments, and of course, corruption. In Britain it was Lionel Blair and his gangs of crooks who opened the floodgates to any ‘tom, dick or harry’ who wanted to come to Britain and take advantage of the rampant social benefits they showered on anyone who didn’t like the idea of working for a living.

Whatever the reason, the ordinary people are having to pick up the tab for the excesses of previous governments and those in power at the moment are being crucified by the populace for the measures they are now forced to take to try and ‘balance the books’. Naturally, the actions they are forced to take make them so unpopular that they will have little chance of being re-elected at the next round of elections for voters have extremely short memories.

Hypocrisy At Its Finest

I find it rather farcical that Ed Milliband of the Labour Party will address the crowds at a demonstration planned for London this next weekend, for he will no doubt play to the crowd and delight in bombasting David Cameron and the Coalition while conveniently forgetting that it was his predecessors who got us in this mess in the first place.  This will delight the crowd who will have long forgotten this essential fact. To me it smacks of massive hypocrisy!

To me, what people have to realize is that you cannot live in debt all your life, especially when it comes to a country. If we want stable and fair social services, stable prices and salaries, we have to overcome one of the over-riding problems with most individuals these days, and that is basic greed! It is one of the strongest defects in the modern generation where everyone wants something for nothing and will do almost anything to get it. There are tens of thousands of people in Britain today who have never done an honest days work in their lives because they live off the numerous handouts from Social Services. The entire system is so corrupt and rotten that many get far more from ‘the social’ than they could possibly earn doing a job of work, and they get away with it in spades.

The system is so full of holes that an immigrant coming into the country with nothing but the shirt on his back gets more money than an old-timer who has worked hard all his life. On top of that, after he is established he brings over his wife and ten children for which he gets more money, and then the grandparents, uncles and their children are welcomed with open arms. We have Tony Blair and his  band of crooks to thank for that mess. But do the electorate remember this, do they hell!

An Uphill Struggle

So now David Cameron, Nick Clegg and the Coalition are trying to solve the mess they inherited and getting crucified for doing it, and no, this is not a bias for any one political party, just a statement of fact.

It’s a similar story across Europe but  not for the same reasons. Countries have spiralled into debt and the muck has hit the fan so the people have to cough up the shares they have not been paying for the last twelve years or so. For any country to properly function there has to be an equal division of labour, payment of taxes and a government that is not susceptible to corruption. Sounds like Paradise, well it probably is and until mankind decides to put aside greed and selfishness and learn these basic facts we will never end the cycle of despair.

If we are lucky the crisis will be over in a few years, and then we can prepare for the next one which will surely come so long as people continue to want something for nothing and are too lazy to work for a living. I just feel sorry for those who really deserve the payments they get from Social Services, like those who are genuinely sick but have seen their benefits cut to pay those ‘playing the system’. It angers me when I hear many people who live in Spain throughout the winter claiming their ‘Cold Weather’ benefit, while those that really need it in the UK sometimes have to choose between eating and staying warm . Its acts like this that add to the debt mountain and make austerity measures all the more difficult for everyone.
