Has David Cameron Totally Lost It?

We all know that the British Prime Minister David Cameron wants Britain to stay in the European Union, but he is now telling the people that if we leave the E.U., peace in Europe could be put at risk and we could be heading for war! What a load of crap!!!! After some of his most recent speeches I think he has totally lost his marbles! Either that or he is getting desperate for excuses to stay in.

It is NATO that defends Europe, and this organization is made up of all the European nations, so whatever comes, we are all in it together. With the backing of the USA no-one would dare to invade our shores – well, except the Muslim immigrants!

There is nothing to stop agreements being made between European countries for a mutual defense system and trade agreements even if we leave the E.U.. To say that we will sink into a hole of our own making is pure rubbish.

In his most recent speech on the matter he said: “Isolationism has never served this country well. Whenever we turn our back on Europe, sooner or later we come to regret it. But we’ve always had to go back in and always at a much higher cost……If we stay, we know what we get – continued full access to a growing single market, including in energy, services and digital, together with the benefit of the huge trade deals in prospect, between the EU and the United States and other large markets. If we leave, it is genuinely a leap in the dark.” Well, he seems to be desperately grabbing at straws.

What he has forgotten is that so long as we continue as members our doors will be open to a mass of immigrants, and we desperately need to shut them to all immigrants for we have far too many already. Another important factor is the Human Rights Laws of Europe that allow brazen killers to go free, and the impossibility of deporting immigrant criminals. It took ten years to get rid of Abu Hansa and Abu Qatada! He has not addressed either of these major concerns with members of the bloc.

I can't Believe He Just Said That!

I can’t Believe He Just Said That!

His main rival Boris Johnson dismissed his claims, accusing the prime minister of failing to deliver proper EU reform in a deal recently struck with European leaders.  Johnson, now free from his post as London mayor, insisted that the EU was ‘an accelerated effort to build a country called Europe’. Something that I have said often enough on these pages!

There can be little doubt that Cameron is now clutching at straws in his efforts to persuade the British people to vote to stay in Europe.

A new poll shows nearly half of voters in eight big European Union countries want to be able to vote on whether to remain members of the bloc. These countries include Germany, Sweden, Holland and Austria among others, and the results could be catastrophic for the European Union.

I believe that Brussels has done this to itself for the data from this poll shows that in some countries as many as 40% would vote to leave, and if you count everybody it could well be more. There is little doubt that the prospect of Britain leaving the E.U. has begun a wave of dissatisfaction at the way Brussels governs us.

All indications are that the main cause of this massive problem was Angela Merkel when she opened Germany’s doors to all and sundry who wanted to come here. Europe is being flooded with so-called refugees, for as many as two-thirds are here for economic reasons, and no-one knows what to do with them.

Brussels has said many times we need a quota system so that each country takes a percentage, but many eastern countries like Hungary and Macedonia to name but two, have refused to accept them. This of course is putting enormous pressure on the remaining countries.

Crossing From Libya

Crossing From Libya

It is clear that the people do not want these refugees flooding their country and turning it upside down, for the people know that it will only bring hardship to them all. Brussels may well have closed the door from Turkey, well, up to a point, but that still leaves those pouring across the Mediterranean from Libya to Italy. In effect, this means that the numbers will not decrease this year but probably escalate.

Already the experts are saying that we can expect at least another million on our shores this year, and many say even more. Perhaps you can tell me what Europe is expected to do with such large numbers?

Had we accepted only genuine refugees, the numbers would have been at least two-thirds lower and it would have been possible to absorbed them, but with the economic refugees far outnumbering them the situation is hopeless.

As you would expect they will all be living off our European benefits system, for the chances of most of them finding a job will be practically zero. This will put dire hardship on those of our people that really need them, and could result in a major financial catastrophe. On top of this there is the housing problem, for most countries do not have enough to house them.

Our own people are being pushed to one side to cater for these immigrants and it is for certain that the general public will not accept this for much longer.

This Is Where We Would End Up If The Roles Were Reversed

This Is Where We Would End Up If The Roles Were Reversed

Let me put another scenario before you. What do you think would happen if some catastrophe happened on European soil, and millions of our people started flooding into Arab states in the Middle East? What do you think our reception would be like? They would certainly not welcome us as refugees and give us free money and housing in the form of benefits, for these things do not exist in Middle East countries. We would all end up in refugee camps, that is presuming they allowed us to enter in the first place!

From all that has taken place over the last year I have come to one conclusion:- We must quit the European Union, before it drags us down into the mud and destroys what little we have left of our economy.

The Destruction Of A Nation From The Inside

Posted in America, Britain, David Cameron, Europe, European Union, News, Nuclear Weapons, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, UK with tags , , , , on 14/09/2014 by floroy1942

Strange though it may seem, the United Kingdom is now in more danger than even during the threat of Nazi invasion in  the dark days of 1940. Britain withstood the might of Hitler during the Second World War by fighting the common foe together, but now, sad to say the threat of destruction comes from the inside, and there is no defence.

Sorry! Couldn't Resist A Dig At Alex!

Sorry! Couldn’t Resist A Dig At Alex!

This all due to one man, Alex Salmond and his ambition to go down in history as the man who ‘freed’ Scotland from Britain after three hundred years.

Yes or NoWith now four days to the referendum on Scotland breaking away from the rest of the United Kingdom, the entire country has reached a crisis point from which it will probably never recover.  It does not matter if Salmond gets a Yes or No vote, irreparable damage has already been done.

The biggest worry will be the economic impact of a Yes vote. Many major companies and banks have already said they will leave Scotland if that happens. Even if the No camp win, there will still be major damage to the U.K. economy. The costs either way will be enormous, and as everyone knows, we can’t afford it.

RBS Pulling Out?

RBS Pulling Out Among Others?

Already we have seen investors pull out a massive £16.6 billion from the British economy because they are running scared of the impact of a Yes vote. Many are indicating that economic chaos will follow in the wake of Salmond getting his way. Even the European Union countries are holding their collective breath, scared that he will win. There can be little doubt that economic turmoil will follow if he does, and that will damage the U.K. economy in ways we have not yet thought about. It will also cause major problems on the international stage, for if Scotland breaks away it will no longer be considered a part of the E.U., and needless to say, Britain’s standing in the international community will also be damaged.

HMS Argyll

HMS Argyll

In today’s newspaper reports, the question of defence has been raised due to the demands on our armed forces Salmond is making if he wins. Should the Scottish people vote in favour of separating from the rest of the U.K. he is demanding that we hand over aircraft, ships and Army regiments to the value of £10 billion to form a Scottish Defence Force. The British Navy is at its lowest level for more than 500 years in the number of ships etc., but Salmond is demanding that Westminster provide 2000 sailors, plus reserves to man the two ships he wants. He will also demand RAF ground-crew and equipment to keep his 12 Typhoons in the air.

Should Cameron be obligated to fulfil this agreement, such a small force would never be able to defend Scotland, and it would weaken the U.K. to the extent where we too would be all but helpless.

Britain's Nuclear Deterrent Based At Faslane

Britain’s Nuclear Deterrent Based At Faslane

At such a challenging time in world history I find this extremely disconcerting, for it reduces the effectiveness of Great Britain’s defence capabilities, and international cooperation with the likes of NATO. Other nations have already intimated their concern at such a move. There is currently talk of Britain’s nuclear deterrent having to move to the United States for it would no longer be able to remain at Faslane in Scotland. Can you imagine such a ridiculous situation, our deterrent based in a country 3,500 miles away?

Even if the No camp win the damage has already been done. Cameron and his cronies have promised more devolution for Scotland in such an event as a measure to sway voters into the No camp. Naturally, as you can expect, Wales and Northern Ireland will want their share of that too, which eventually will mean the slow erosion of what was once the United Kingdom.

English Counties

English Counties

I read an article on devolution from London going even further with more power being handed to cities within the country. Its seems they would be allowed to handle tax-raising and spending powers among other things with directly elected mayors. I suppose you could liken the idea to the American State system.

The one thing that is certain is we need a clear-out in Westminster, for the three main parties have done nothing to alleviate the problems within the country. Labour can best be described as traitorous, the Conservatives as gutless, and the Liberals as a waste of space. The way all three parties have handled this Scotland affair among others, certainly leaves a lot to be desired.

Anyway, come Thursday the Scottish people will sign the death-knell for the country my father, and many of yours, died for during the Second World War.

Will The Current Defence Review Cost Britain the Falklands?

Posted in Atlantic, Britain, Budget Cuts, England, Government, Government Spending, Insanity, MP's, Oceans, Parliament, Royal Navy, UK with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on 27/01/2011 by floroy1942

As always, defence spending is the first thing to be cut when money is seen to be tight. And as usual, the politicians make the same stupid, short-sighted decisions. It seems the present Coalition is no different.

HMS Ark Royal

Currently, the Royal Navy is to be hit hard in that its aircraft carrier fleet is to be scrapped. True, two new carriers are supposed to be built to replace those we have now, but apart from the fact they will not be ready until somewhere around 2017, their future is now in doubt even though construction has begun, and in which £1 billion has already been invested.

Hopefully, One of The Royal Navy's New Carriers

All branches of the armed forces will be hit, but by far the most significant is the proposed phasing out of all three aircraft carriers by 2015. Ark Royal has already been decommissioned, and Invincible and Illustrious are soon to follow. This will leave Britain without a single carrier until around 2017 when, hopefully, maybe, the navy will receive their two replacements at a cost. This cost is a significant reduction in their surface ships to help pay for the new carriers.

It’s like the Falklands war of 1982 never happened!

Without her aircraft carriers, Britain would have stood helplessly by while Argentina took over the islands at their leisure after the invasion, with no amount of harsh words from Margaret Thatcher making any difference.

A Harrier Lands on Deck

As it was, our carrier force with their Harrier VTOL aircraft, was the only thing Britain had in its military arsenal that could effectively strike back at the invaders. As we all know, the entire operation was a resounding success.

But what of today and the near future?

It would seem the current government has forgotten the lessons of the past, and are ready and willing to make the same mistakes when the scrapping of the CVA01 carriers almost cost us the Falklands.

The Argentine government must be rubbing their hands in glee at the prospect of a neutered Royal Navy who will be helpless should they try again in three or four years time. I’ll bet their generals have already started making plans for a new invasion of the islands, knowing full well the British will have no choice but to stand impotent on the sidelines.

The Mighty Vulcan Bomber

Since that conflict in 1982 the RAF has also suffered significant cuts to its budget and aircraft. During the previous conflict, the Vulcan and Victor cold-war bombers played a key role with their huge range of action, bombing targets like the runway at Stanley airfield and attacking the radar installations on the island. They too are long gone! Now Britain has no bombers at all with the range to strike at the Falklands.

The Harrier fleet, which proved so effective against the Argentinean air force has been decommissioned also, but that doesn’t seem to stop the politicians from a proposal which will see a scaling down of the number of Joint-Strike fighters to be ordered.

The Falklands

As I see it, this defence review will prove to be a catastrophe for the Falkland islanders, who in my view had better start learning Argentinean, for in about four years time they will need it.
