Killed Someone Because Of Your ‘Mobile’?

Texting While Driving - Sheer Madness!

Texting While Driving – Sheer Madness!

These days people are addicted to their mobile phones. How often do you get someone who bumps into you in a shopping centre or on the street because their whole attention is on texting on their mobile? I see it almost daily, and the majority are young people. Drivers in town or on the motorway can often be seen on their mobile while driving, and it causes many accidents and deaths because their whole attention is not on the road.

In Britain alone more than 17,000 people were taken to court last year for using their mobile while driving, and that is only a fraction of those that do it. The number of accidents, and deaths on the roads has skyrocketed since the introduction of mobile phones. So what do we do about it?

I’m of the firm opinion that legislation should be introduced that prevents the use of mobiles while driving. There have been various attempts by governments to limit this situation, notably in California USA with fines, but are they enough? The British Department for Transport is pushing for all mobiles to be blocked when a vehicles engine is switched on. I think this is a good idea which could well save many lives.

I am sure that if someone needs to make a call they should pull over and turn off the engine so the phone will work again. Once the call has been made they can continue.

There is however one problem that must be overcome, and that is the use of navigation systems that are on many mobiles. I am sure however that this problem could be solved. The most important thing is to prevent incoming calls and using the phone to make a call.

It would not be difficult with today’s technology to have a small item installed in the car that will prevent incoming and outgoing calls, text messages and data. I believe the sooner these methods are installed the better it will be for road safety. It must be law that your car or truck have one of these items installed, with very severe penalties for those who do not.

The introduction of such a device on new cars would be no problem, but those already on the road must have it installed within a certain time limit. Those who do not abide by this rule must either receive a heavy fine or have their car taken away from them.

Road deaths have increased tremendously since the introduction of the mobile phone and it is easy to say that such measures are somewhat authoritarian, but just imagine how many lives would be saved. I am sure those people who have lost family members due to such an incident would agree.

When you drive it is essential to have your full attention on the road ahead of you.

Time For Reform In Our Prisons

Posted in America, Britain, England, Government Spending, Justice, Modern World, News, Police, Politics, Prison with tags , , , , on 17/12/2016 by floroy1942

I read with interest about the prison riot in HMP Birmingham England yesterday, and I was shocked that such a thing could still happen in our prisons. I have always thought that the British prison system is far too soft on those who commit crimes, especially murder and rape.

All The Comforts Of Home

All The Comforts Of Home

These days a killer will be sentenced to ten years and be released in three or four. Surely that is not a just sentence for someone who has murdered an innocent person. Not only that, but prisoners these days live in  better conditions than most of our poorer people. With a TV, Radio, disc player and many other luxuries in their cells, plus snooker tables and chess sets, all paid for by the taxpayer.  There can be little doubt that the ‘Do-Gooders’ in our society have turned prison into a holiday camp. Long gone are the days when you were locked in a cell with just the bare minimum like a bed, wash bowl and toilet. They are more like hotel rooms these days.

The riot in Birmingham lasted twelve hours and a significant amount of damage was done. Again, the taxpayer may well foot the bill for repairs. The trouble has been quoted as being the worst since the Strangeways jail riot in 1990. UK prisons chief Michael Spurr said there were “serious problems” in jails that would not be solved immediately. Justice Secretary Liz Truss said  the rioters would “face the full force of the law.” Now what did she mean by that? An extra three months added to their sentence? I cannot see much coming out of her statement to the Press.

The rioting was said to have involved up to 600 inmates with some severe damage to parts of the prison. Currently it is said that the company that runs the prison, G4S, will be made to foot the bill for repairs although I doubt that. A G4S spokesman said,  “Our teams have worked tirelessly throughout the night to assess the damage caused, start the process of clearing up and capture any evidence that could be used by West Midlands Police for any subsequent prosecutions.”

Mike Spurr

Mike Spurr

This is the third prison violence episode in six weeks following trouble at Lewes and Bedford, and the authorities are worried that it could spread to other prisons in the country. Michael Spurr, who is chief executive of the National Offender Management Service Agency, said overcrowding, reduced staffing and drugs had put pressure on prisons.

In my view the authorities should draft in many more wardens to keep control, and ensure that the prisons are so constructed that it will be impossible for inmates to gather in large numbers. When such an occurrence takes place there should be sufficient wardens to quell the violence, using water cannons and tear gas if necessary. Prisoners need to have all their ‘goodies’ taken away so that they really know the meaning of punishment.

An Easy Time In Prison

An Easy Time In Prison

To allow a murderer or child rapist out of prison within three or four years should be done away with and they should serve a very long time in prison under a harsh regime. Today, killers etc. think nothing of it if they are caught, because they know they will be out in just a few years, and on top of that, have an easy time in prison.

There can be little doubt that the Justice System in Britain has gone soft on criminals, and for that we are all paying the price.

Don’t Put Your Faith In Polls

Posted in America, Benefits, Britain, David Cameron, Elections, European Union, Human Rights, Immigrants, News, Politics with tags , , , , on 21/04/2016 by floroy1942

Britain is being hammered by polls at the moment covering the Brexit issue, and to be honest I think they are a waste of time. There have been dozens, and each one gives a different result ending in total confusion for the public. One says the ‘In’ People are winning and another says that the ‘Out’ people are, so what can you make of it. Well, nothing really!

Not Worth A Damn

Not Worth A Damn

It all depends on the size of the poll and where it was carried out. If you go to the heart of London where people are bankers or work for international businesses the answer is sure to be that we stay in. On the other hand if you go to a town in the Midlands the answer may well be that we should leave.

Do you ask 100 people or a thousand, or maybe several thousand, either way the result will be skewed depending on where it is carried out.

Polls in the past have led to some pretty drastic results which have all been nullified when the final results come in. The last election is a prime example where the poll results were turned on their head come election day.

To me polls are a total waste of time because they do not represent the true feelings of the public, and are usually so small as to be totally insignificant.

Leaning The Other Way

Leaning The Other Way

It is up to each individual in the country to make up their own mind and vote as they see fit on polling day. So from this you can gather that no-one will know the final results until they are in on the day of the election. It is important that people do not allow themselves to be swayed by the results of these advance polls, for they are not representative of the true feelings of all the public on this question.

We have our champions for leaving and staying, among them Boris Johnson and the P.M. David Cameron both of whom have their own views. There are of course many others, and it is up to each individual to make their minds up as to what they believe is right.

We hear so much scaremongering among some of the politicians who tell us  that we are heading for a fiscal catastrophe if we leave the union, but I don’t believe any of them.

Let’s face it, for a start we would save £362 million a week if we leave, which is our contribution to the E.U. Fund. It may not sound a lot to some people, but imagine what we could do with that money. As someone said, it would solve all the problems in the NHS! It would also solve a lot of other problems that we are suffering.

Currently A Free Ride

Currently A Free Ride

One of the best things that would come out of a Brexit is that we would once again be able to control our borders, something we have not been able to do since Tony Blair. Our problems do not only concern the immigrants from outside the E.U., but also those from within. We currently have hundreds of thousands of Polish migrants who have come here to work and open up shops etc, and we can add to that Romanians and others who come here to a certain extent to live off benefits.

Imagine what will happen when (a) the visa free travel for Turkey to Europe becomes law, or (b) when Turkey joins the E.U.. We will see hundreds of thousands of Turks moving into Europe, and many will want to come to the U.K. because of our lax benefits programme. Should Bexit become a reality we can at least close our borders and concentrate on getting our current problems sorted out. I am sure that Britain will go through a period of hard times, but we will recover and eventually turn out to be the winners in all this.

What The Papers Have To Say About Strasbourg

What The Papers Have To Say About Strasbourg

Another major advantage will be that we can get rid of the Human Rights commission in Strasbourg  and begin once again to practice the proven efficiency of the British Law System. There will be no more criminals let off because of these interfering idiots in Strasbourg who love to side with killers and criminal immigrants.

The people in Brussels are constantly trying to increase their influence in the running of member countries, for there is little doubt that their final aim is to form a United States of Europe ruled from Brussels. This means that at some time in the future we could see all the governments of every nation put out of business and Brussels makes all the rules and governs each country.

Will This Become The Flag Of All European Nations?

Will This Become The Flag Of All European Nations?

When the E.U. was formed everyone had high hopes of making Europe one of the most successful continents on the planet, but as we have seen over the years, things have steadily got worse, and it will get even more so as more years go by.

So the message is, forget these stupid polls, make you own mind up and don’t be swayed by them. In June we will see who comes out on top, and for myself I hope it is the ‘Leave’ campaign.

Where Did We Go Wrong?

Posted in Britain, Child Discipline, England, English Schools, Immigration, Justice, News, Parenting, Prison, Teen Violence with tags , , , , on 29/10/2015 by floroy1942

Having survived 72 years on this planet I have to ask where we went wrong in the past to bring the country to the state it’s in now. I scan the news daily, and never a day goes by where I don’t read that someone somewhere has been murdered, robbed or raped, and I fail to see what has happened to the British people.

Today I read that a schoolboy had been stabbed to death by another pupil at a school in Scotland, and almost every day is the same. Pupils even stab teachers in school because for some reason they get angry.

Old people robbed while they lay desperately hurt after being struck by a hit-and-run driver. No attempt made to help them, just take their money and leave them on the street. Very often, youngsters break into an old person’s house, knife them and steal their money and valuables because they are an easy target.

Saturday Night Brawl

Saturday Night Brawl

Go into town on a saturday night and you will be lucky in many places if you don’t see young girls lying comatose on the pavement after a night of drugs and heavy drinking, and you will more than likely see a bunch of drunken youths fighting viciously outside a disco or club. More often than not they are also high on drugs.

Road rage is another symptom of modern times in that people do stupid things on the road and the offended driver gets out of his car in a vicious rage and attacks the other driver physically. It happens all across the country and it never seems to end. Why?

What has got into people these days that makes them so aggressive at what they consider the slightest of insults. Pretty soon you won’t even dare to say “Good morning” to anyone for fear they may take it the wrong way and attack you.

I know this is not a general situation for everybody, but the number of Press reports of murder and assault have gone through the roof these last ten years and there has to be a reason for it.

There are I think three reasons for the current wave of violence on our streets, one is the parents, another is the complete farce that our system of justice  has become, and finally, the breakdown of our education system.

Is This The Correct Way To Bring Up A Child?

Is This The Correct Way To Bring Up A Child?

Firstly it is a total failure of the last generation of parents to teach their offspring respect, honesty and integrity. Most are happy to have their children ‘out from under their feet’ and don’t give a damn about how they behave or what they do while away from home. All too often the child says, “I want….” and before you know it they are given it. No effort has been made to teach children the three basic values, and now we have to live with the consequences.

When I look back at my own childhood I remember getting a clip around the ear for some minor infraction, or my dad’s slipper across my backside or the cane at school for something more serious. It made me realize in time that there are rules to the way you live and I was made to abide by them. The three basic values were instilled in me and I have lived by them to this day.

All that disappeared years ago, and partly because of the ‘Goody Goody Brigade’ who convinced certain important people that to discipline a child had to be done by purely talking to them. You were not allowed to hit a child for any reason. Where did these people came from?

Parents quickly began to live by these rules, and soon children lost the one thing that allowed them to learn how they should behave and live their lives, i.e. discipline. Many of today’s youth, especially in the poorer parts of town, are nothing more than thugs going around in gangs, some no more than ten years old. They do as they please, attack innocent people just for fun, rob shops for the thrill, and the sad thing is they get away with it. Even if they are caught by the Police they are more often than not let off with a caution not to do it again, which they naturally ignore.

Ricky Preddie On His Release After Serving Just 4 Years For Killing Damilola Taylor

Ricky Preddie On His Release After Serving Just 4 Years For Killing Damilola Taylor

Our modern justice system also has a lot to answer for because they no longer give meaningful sentences to those who break the law, and this is proven by killers getting light sentences and not even having to serve their full term. Gone are the days when you were locked up for twenty or thirty years for killing someone, now they get sentenced to ten years but are out in three. It’s no wonder the system has failed in preventing such crimes.

Furthermore, our education system has failed an entire generation of young people, many of whom are leaving school without the ability to read or write properly, and as for adding two and two – forget it.

What is even more frightening is that Muslim immigrants have so much power in the country that they are slowly destroying what is left of our education system with their demands for classes in arabic because they have not taken the trouble to integrate and learn the language of their adopted country.

Muslim Family With 12 Children

Muslim Family With 12 Children

Today I read that the population of Britain will increase from its current 62.5 million to over 74 million within the next 12 years. And why? Two reasons, mainly the massive immigration into our country that is still going on, and to a very much smaller extent, the increased life expectancy of our old folks.

As many know by now, most British families restrict themselves to two children, but at the same time, Muslim families will have five, six or even more children. In a few years this will make them a very large portion of the population, and you can imagine what will happen then.

I am just glad I will not be around to see it!

Who Disputes We Are A Compensation Culture?

Posted in America, Britain, England, Europe, Government, Health, Human Rights, Insanity, Justice, News with tags , , , , on 23/07/2015 by floroy1942

Compensation claims are the curse of the British way of life and have been for some years. People will claim for the most stupid of reasons, and all for ‘accidents’ that are mostly their own stupid fault. Sad to say it has become a way of life in today’s Britain, as just about anyone is looking for a way ‘to make a fast buck’ as the Americans say. Long gone are the days when honest people just put little accidents down to bad luck or their own clumsiness and move on.

Hardest hit are the many city councils across the country who pay out huge sums to their workers who get ‘injured’ in minor accidents. Over a period of three years, Bradford City Council paid out a massive £30million pounds in compensation to its workers.

Here are some of the ludicrous payments made to workers by councils:

A Bradford council worker won more than £12,000 after being hit by a toilet lid when flushing.

Another award included £12,566 to a cleaner who received bruises when she got her feet caught in a vacuum cleaner hose, and £16,500 went to an employee who slipped on a cream cake.

Other bizarre awards from the same council include a £10,166 payout to a worker who hurt their shoulder while opening an oven door and £3,370 to a worker who fell off a toilet due to a “defective seat”.

A woman wearing high heels who tripped on a staircase was awarded £8,200 by Leeds City Council after injuring her shoulder.

And the same council paid £1,800 to an employee who ALMOST fell off his chair, hurting his back.

Another worker in Leeds pocketed £1,050 for hurting her back while moving POTATOES.

In Bristol, a clumsy carer was paid £4,000 for tripping over a patient’s zimmer frame, while Nottinghamshire County Council paid £23,503 to a worker for a bruise.

Meanwhile East Sussex Council paid £5,000 to a member of staff who injured their back while “putting a large number of leaflets in a filing cabinet”.

And Ceredigion County Council stumped up £16,500 in compo for an employee who slipped on a cream cake.

Birmingham City Council paid out £4,362 to a care worker who slipped on URINE.

A worker in Conwy pocketed £3,774 for suffering nothing but grazes after tripping over some boxes and South Gloucestershire Council paid out £7,650 to a caretaker who slipped on wet stairs while carrying a large pack of toilet rolls.

Haringey Council in London paid £9,750 to a dozy employee who walked into a lamp post and hurt their knee.

Meanwhile Norfolk County Council awarded £25,000 to a kitchen worker who suffered burns after pouring a pan of boiling water over her arms when she picked it up with a tea towel, rather than oven gloves. The payment was made even though the worker followed “incorrect procedures”.

To me this sort of behaviour is farcical, and indicative of the depths that people will go these days to get some money without having to do anything for it.

Some months ago I was walking down the main street in Marbella and I tripped over the sunken lip of a small manhole cover. I cut my knee quite a bit, ruined a good pair of trousers and suffered some pain from the injury, but I didn’t run to the nearest compensation lawyer and claim a few thousand Euro’s in compensation from the local council. I am old school and not used to such things so I just picked myself up and moved on. Had I been of the modern generation I may well have sued the council and won as much as €10,000 compensation, who knows?

When e.g. an idiot can get paid £9,750 for walking into a lamppost it is time to scrap the whole system, because it is too bizarre for words.

Ban The Burka – An Excellent Idea – And Here’s Why!

Male? Female? Terrorist? How Can You Tell!

Male? Female? Terrorist? How Can You Tell!

When France first passed laws to ban the Islamic burka and niquab face veil in public places in 2010 there was a hue and cry about among other things, religious freedom. The ban was approved by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in July 2014. Since that time it is illegal for Muslim women to cover their faces when out in public. This I have always found to be an excellent idea, for in the current age of Muslim terrorism it is impossible to police public places for suicide bombers when thousands go around with their faces covered.

This fact has been brought home yet again today, as news reports tell of a male suicide bomber in the Chadian capital of N’Djamena who has killed 14 people and injured 74 at the entrance to a market. Witnesses have said that the man tried to enter the market but was stopped by Police because he was wearing a veil. He then proceeded to detonate his explosives. Had he been able to commit this act inside the market the casualty rate would have been much higher.

 N'Djamena Market Entrance

N’Djamena Market Entrance

Chad authorities banned the head-to-toe religious garment last month, citing the risk that attackers could use it as a disguise or hide explosives underneath. It turns out they were right. Although it is not yet known for certain, all evidence points to Boko Haram being behind the attack. Chadian authorities, along with those of Niger, Cameroon, and Boko Harams home base country of Nigeria have been fighting collectively to rid the world of this stain on humanity.

This entire episode just goes to prove how dangerous it is to allow Muslims to cover themselves from head to foot, for this is by no means the first such attack. France took this vital step in 2010, but Britain’s government has yet to wake up to the danger.

International Public opinion

International Public opinion

Daily, thousands of Muslim women walk our streets dressed in this manner and yet the government sees no harm in this. Let’s face it, the leader of Boko Haram, and even Islāmic State (I.S.), could be walking our streets daily and no-one would be any the wiser.

It is now well-known that many I.S. terrorists are crossing from Libya hidden among the refugees coming over in their thousands,  and who is to say that within a short time we could suffer the same fate of the Chadians.

Until the British Government steps up and accepts its responsiblity to protect the citizens of Britain from such attacks by also banning face veils, we will never be properly safe.

So Mr Cameron, do what is necessary, and ban completely the full face veil in this country before we suffer the same fate as the Chadian people.

The Future - Unless We Do Something About It!

The Future – Unless We Do Something About It!

As a Brit have you ever had that sinking feeling as you look around at what is happening in the country today? When I see the incompetence of our politicians and justice system in today’s world it makes me want to cringe. When I see the thousands upon thousands of immigrants clogging up the country’s entry points it makes me want to scream. And yet, no-one seems capable or in some cases interested, in doing anything to save our civilization.

Some of the recent news items made me want to move to a desert island somewhere (with all the mod-cons of course) and shut myself off from the world completely.

Theresa May - Home Secretary

Theresa May – Home Secretary

Just this last week the U.K. Court of Appeal has given immigrants facing deportation for crimes committed in the U.K. the right to appeal their deportation in the courts in direct contradiction to the new rules initiated by the Home Secretary Theresa May. May’s new rule makes it possible for immigrant criminals to be deported immediately, but allows them to appeal from their home country. So far one thousand have been deported under this rule, but now, Lord Dyson, Master of the Rolls, sitting with Lord Justice Underhill, has given permission for two convicted drug offenders to challenge May’s ruling.

The challenges are being brought by Kevin Kinyanjui Kiarie, a Kenyan who came to the UK as a young child in 1997, and Courtney Aloysius Byndloss, a Jamaican father of at least seven children born in the UK from three partners.

See What I Mean

See What I Mean

The Justices argue that deportation would cause harm to their ‘family life (Art. 8 of the HRC), and according to them, the criminals will not have the benefit of legal aid and could face serious problems, including gaining access to video-link or internet facilities. Oh dear! What a shame! They are convicted drug criminals for crying out loud! Should we feel sorry for them?

Following this farce you can bet your last dollar they will be allowed to stay and continue their chosen trade. It seems we let them all in but can’t get rid of them when they turn out to be criminals.

It was also revealed last week that the U.K. population has risen drastically in the last year and now stands at a record 64,596,800, an increase of almost half a million since mid 2013.  Now I wonder how that happened?

Between mid-2013 and mid-2014 the overall figure for migrants arriving in the UK was 582,600, compared to 322,900 people leaving the country. I have to ask, just how long is Britain supposed to accept these immigrants before we can say NO MORE! They are breeding like rabbits once they get here and pretty soon will outnumber us.

Immigrants - Getting in Any Way They Can!

Immigrants – Getting in Any Way They Can!

We already have far too many, but we can’t deport even the criminals because of stupid laws from Strasbourg and our own impotent justice system, so I guess in 20 or 30 years they will take over. Don’t think that Britain is alone in this, for it will happen in the majority of European countries. Even the mighty United States is in danger at sometime in the future.

When it comes to immigrants everyone is so ‘touchy’ and frightened that last Thursday (25/6) a man was charged with “inciting racial hatred ahead of a proposed demonstration in an area of London with a large Jewish population.” The Police are reported as saying, “We are working with residents to ensure that people can exercise their rights in a way that is lawful.”

A Muslim Demonstration

A Muslim Demonstration – See What I Mean?

There is not much information on this issue, but when it comes to racial hatred the Police and laws are very one-sided. If British people demonstrate in the streets about the flood of immigrants they are arrested, but if the Muslims stand on a street corner shouting hate slogans at passers-by they are given a Police escort. Where is the justice in that?

I think we are getting close to the time when mankind should be eradicated on this planet so we can start all over again, and hopefully make a better job of it.

Roy.
