Its getting hotter and hotter this year and it won’t end until winter comes, and who knows what the winter will bring. In the Middle East its well over forty degrees, and we can expect close to forty degrees in Europe this August. All over the world it is getting hotter and the weather is to blame.

We are contaminating the skies with our with our gases and car exhausts as never before, and this is causing the hot weather. I predict that it will get hotter next year as the contamination gets worse.

We have to do something about it before all of us die from the extreme temperatures. It will get worse year on year as the climate is clogged up with the poisonous gases that we emit. There are too many cars on the road and we have to make sure they are reduced. The entire world is choking with cars and they are are emitting far too much gas. In Marbella we get traffic jams every day during the summer and this has to stop. Not only Marbella, but all across the world in America, China and many other countries there are traffic jams.

They pollute the atmosphere with their exhausts, and some people in China wear gas masks to stop the contamination from getting into their lungs. This will be world-wide in a few years time. Already people are dying from the contamination with lung cancer.

It is time the governments of the world started reducing the number of cars on the road to stop this contamination. It will take a hundred years for the contamination to reduce and we are surely going to die from the fumes.

Electric cars are the answer for they will not contaminate the atmosphere, but how long before all people are travelling in electric cars. It will take years and years before the whole world is using electric cars, and the contamination will get worse.

But what of the power stations for charging the batteries? We must build new power stations for the hundreds and thousands of cars on the road. They will have charging stations all across the world and they must have power to charge their engines. Prices will rise for the electricity and few people can afford it. This will cut down the number of vehicles on the road and this is a good thing.

We have a long way to go to before the world gets better and it will take years.

The weather this year has been the worst in history, and I am afraid we are heading for more of the same next year. The number of hurricanes to hit the the south of the United States and the Caribbean islands has been the worst on record. Who knows if this will be repeated next year and in the years to come. Not only has the Caribbean been hit by these tremendous storms, but other parts of the world have been too, and its not over yet.

An analysis of the past 167 years has found that we have never had such a year as this.  No 30-year period in history has seen this many major hurricanes, this many days of those huge hurricanes spinning in the Atlantic, or this much overall energy generated by those powerful storms. But who will say what the future holds? Scientists expect to see planet climate changes because warmer ocean water is fuel for hurricanes. The Atlantic hurricane season was more intense than normal in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2016. The 2005 season, which included Katrina, Rita and Wilma caused major havoc in coastal towns in the Caribbean and the southern United States.

Fuelled by warmer than normal ocean temperatures and ideal wind conditions, September 2017 had more days with major hurricanes spinning and more overall hurricane energy expelled than any month on record, according to Colorado State University hurricane researcher Phil Klotzbach. Harvey spawned record rainfall. Irma had record high winds in the open Atlantic. And Maria hit the U.S. stronger than the earlier two.

All this is due, according to the scientists, because of our continued contamination of the planet’s atmosphere. We have created a cloud of contaminates that circle the globe and stop the heat from dissipating into space. This is one of the reasons the Earth is getting warmer and temperatures are souring. In certain areas of the globe the temperatures are exceeding 50 centigrade, and as we continue to contaminate the atmosphere with our cars and lorries it will get even worse.

If we do not stop using diesel and petrol engines, and cut down the emissions from factories, we will be in dire straits. As the air gets more and more contaminated mankind will cease to exists on this planet.

What Is To Become Of Our World

Posted in America, Britain, Conservation, Environment, European Union, Immigration, Islamic Revolution, Modern World, News, Terrorism with tags , , , , on 18/09/2017 by floroy1942

All around the world we are seeing wars, civil disharmony and demonstrations. It makes me wonder what the future of our world will be in twenty or thirty years time. Will we see a global war and the destruction of mankind?

Russia and the West are at one another’s throats, we have ISIL targeting many countries across the world trying to gain control, and we have street rioting in many countries by young men who are out to cause trouble.

We have world pollution rising at a steady rate, where in some cities the air is so contaminated that the rise of lung disease and cancer is rapidly increasing. We have a grave shortage of water and food in some countries where the land is being turned into a desert. Africa is a good example.

Those of us that live in the West watch the news but don’t think of the consequences because it is far away from us. Our lives go on uninterrupted for we don’t care what happens in other countries.

Migrants from the continent of Africa have swarmed into Europe to escape the drought, hunger and wars that are taking place all across Africa. Most of them are Muslims, and eventually they will cause havoc in Europe as they try to take over and turn the whole continent into a Muslim state. You can think what you will, but this is a major possibility as more and more pour in.

Climate change has caused many countries to suffer, like the USA. When in the past have we seen hurricane after hurricane causing so much destruction? The hurricanes have unleashed massive destruction across the Caribbean and the flooding has caused more than a million people to leave their homes, even in the south of the United States. Thousands of people have been made homeless across the Caribbean islands, and houses have been destroyed right left and centre in the southern states of America. Flooding has consumed a huge portion of the southern United States and this has never happened on such a large scale before, and its all due to us poisoning our atmosphere with traffic and factories.

Climate change has even affected the north and south pole regions where ice is melting at an unbelievable rate. At the north pole the ice cover is a fraction of what it once was, and the south pole has seen huge swathes of ice islands broken off and floated out into the ocean.

Some European companies have said recently that they will be turning their factories into making electric cars, but with the whole of Europe driving these cars what is going to happen to the power grids? There are not enough power stations to satisfy the demand for an all electric car system across Europe. America is very slow in making this change but they will be hit with the same problem.

Civil unrest is spreading across many countries with demonstrations, and it often turns into violence. The people are unhappy with their governments because they do not do enough to house and help the poor. The rich get richer and the poor get no help at all. There are many billionaires in the world today, but they do not release some of their money to help the poor. It’s all down to greed, and that is the one disease that is very common today. Why do they not release money to help the poor and starving in Africa and across the world.

With climate change things will get much worse in the foreseeable future so we have to do something about it. There can be no doubt that if we change our ways it will take very many years for the Earth’s climate to get back to what it was when I was a boy. In the meantime things will get worse year on year until we stop polluting our climate’s atmosphere.

Do You Believe In Climate Change

Posted in America, Australia, Britain, Conservation, Environment, Europe, Health, News, Oceans, Toxic Waste with tags , , , , on 06/04/2017 by floroy1942

Right Or Wrong?

Climate change is a touchy subject these days and many people do not believe in it. But the facts speak for themselves when you consider the massive flooding of countries like Peru, Australia and New Zealand, India and Bangladesh among others. Also we have drastic droughts and storms over different parts of the world. These things were unheard of in the past.

The weather patterns of the world have changed drastically over the past thirty years with drought, floods, massive hurricanes and typhoons, and a rising sea level. Some deny that these problems are manmade and are just a natural cycle in our world. The truth is that it is all manmade, caused by the heavy pollution we are sending into the atmosphere.

It would be difficult to ignore the facts when you consider such disasters with so many people killed and the loss of their homes. To me the facts cannot be denied for we are heading into the worst disasters of our world.

The big question is why? Is it a natural cycle or due to mankind’s ignorance to the state of our world. The toxic levels of our atmosphere are steadily rising due to our careless attitude to the climate, and as we go on the situation will only get worse.

Since the turn of the twentieth century we have been steadily increasing the contamination of the world’s atmosphere. It is said that last year we exceeded the possibility of the Earth to regenerate the atmosphere by August, and for the rest of the year  we added more and more contamination with the Earth unable to handle it. Even our oceans are being contaminated at an alarming rate through various means. So from this you can conclude that the planet and the atmosphere is getting worse year on year. When is it likely to stop?

Mankind is heading for extinction if we keep this up and in perhaps a hundred years we will cease to exist, because we have poisoned our atmosphere to the extent where all life on the planet will cease to exist.

I know that many people will consider this to be a load of rubbish, but you have to consider the condition of our world today, and imagine what it will be like in a tens of  years time if we continue living as we do.

The biggest contaminators of our atmosphere are vehicles and factories that push out toxic fumes daily. With over a billion vehicles on the planet and an untold number of factories the situation will get worse year on year. Some countries may see in twenty of thirty years time people walking around with gas masks, for already in China people wear face masks to stop the pollution from entering their lungs. This will soon spread to the west in some cities if we do nothing.

Already places like London, Paris, and in particular cities in the Middle East are suffering from heavy pollution and you can bet your life it will spread. The sad thing is, mankind seems oblivious to the spread of air contamination, and you can bet your life it will come and bite us in the backside.

At the moment people are living up to their eighties, nineties and beyond but that will soon change as the pollution of our atmosphere extends. You can make all the excuses you like but it will not change things unless we do something about it. There are so many people who believe that climate change is a myth, but in time they will see the truth as we are forced into taking measures to protect our health. It is not too late to do something about it but in ten or twenty years time it will be.

Governments have to start drastically reducing the number of cars in the world, and ban diesel which is the worst polluter. Factories must start using fuel that does not contaminate the atmosphere so much, but first people must be aware of the danger they are in for this to work. We all rely on governments to do the right thing, but sadly this is not the case for corrupt politicians are everywhere and their one aim in life is to be as rich as possible.

It is time for the world to made aware of the danger we are in and for the people to do something about it.

Humans Won’t Be Around Much Longer

OverpopulationA bold statement if ever there was one, but the way things are going on planet Earth, and the way we are messing things up, it could come true within a few decades.

I read with interest a report by NASA that this year has broken all records for being the hottest Spring in history. You can bet your life that we will see reports at the end of the year that the summer will also become the hottest on record. You have to ask how long this trend will continue?

We Are Not Complaining

We Are Not Complaining

Whether we like it or not our planet is changing, and not for the better, although some holiday makers may disagree. One of the major problems with the world hotting up is something we depend on to survive, i.e. water.

Already we have seen record droughts in various parts of the world which in turn threaten our food supply. Granted most people in the western world are not feeling the effects of such a thing at the moment because the supermarkets are still full. But what if this tendency continues?

Massive Ice Loss Since 1979

Massive Ice Loss Since 1979

Another major point is the loss of ice at the north and south poles. Huge areas have lost their ice cover as it melts and heads to the sea. This has already been reported as raising the sea levels, and it will get worse as time goes by.

Maldives - Soon To Be Underwater

Maldives – Soon To Be Underwater

Scientists have predicted that with the rising sea levels, places like Florida and many along the Californian coast among others will be lost to the sea. The rising sea levels are already affecting some coast dwellers. It is anticipated that the Pacific islands of the Maldives will disappear within twenty years as the rising sea covers them. I know I would never buy a house in any of these places.

Hail Storm Damage In India

Hail Storm Damage In India

We have seen unparalleled changes in the weather in many countries across the globe. The storms, flooding, rainfall and droughts which are not restricted to the Far East, are something we should be taking note of, even if it does not affect us at the moment, for it is a sign of things to come.

It is easy as we sit in the comfort of our homes to disbelieve everything the scientists tell us and pass it off as scaremongering. But you only have to look at what is happening across the world to see that they may just be right.

How It Is!

How It Is!

You and the wife still drive to work every day along with millions of others and think nothing of it, but when you do this you are adding to the problem, maybe only at an infinitesimal level, but so are billions of others, and in such large numbers it becomes a major problem for the environment.

Our CO2 emissions just cannot be handled by the Earth’s climate and it is steadily becoming more and more contaminated. Since the 1900’s the number of vehicles has risen to over a billion on the world’s roads, and it is increasing daily.

Industrial Air Contamination

Industrial Air Contamination

On top of this of course we have the industrial emissions. Factories that are still using coal as a source of power, and of course the electricity generating stations, are all adding to the CO2 levels on the planet. If we keep this up, very soon the planet will be so contaminated that human life will become extinct.

Another major contributor to this problem is the rampant birthrate in countries like India and China. As an example, the population of these two countries is greater than all other countries put together.

No Hope!

No Hope!

The world population has grown to such an extent that millions are dying of hunger and sickness, and there is no help for any of them. If the predictions are right, based on our current birthrate, the world population will grow to nine billion by 2040. These people are already suffering from major food shortages, so imagine what will happen by 2040. It could affect all of us!

Bold words and I guess the greater majority of people will scoff at this prediction, just as they do when we are warned by the scientists. But if we keep up our present lifestyle something has to give!

There can be little doubt that if humanity is to survive, fundamental changes have to be made to the way we live. As the old saying goes: ‘You can’t have your cake and eat it too!’

Giant Balloon to Combat Climate Change?

Posted in Britain, England, Environment, Europe, Germany, Health, Modern World, UK, USA with tags , , , , , , , , , on 15/09/2011 by floroy1942

I was amazed to read a report on a project called, the “Stratospheric Particle Injection for Climate Engineering” or SPICE for short, that has scientists going ga ga at the moment (No! I do not mean the attention seeking pop singer).

How It Would Be Done

It would seem their plan is to introduce a helium-filled balloon into the atmosphere, and release particles that would reflect sunlight away from Earth, and thereby reduce global warming. The current feasibility test involves releasing a balloon that will reach a height of 1km with a hose attached. Through this hose, water will be pumped at a rate of 100 litres an hour to test the possibility of doing this at an altitude of 20km, though how they expect to vertically pump anything 20kms remains a mystery. I just hope the team members remember to bring umbrellas with them.

Mount Pinatubo 1991

The test is based on data gathered during the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Phillipines in 1991. As a result of this event, five cubic kilometres of volcanic ash and gas were released into the atmosphere which passed around the globe. The particles in the ash cloud reflected sunlight away from Earth causing a drop of some 0.5C degrees in global temperature for a short while. It is this phenomenon that the scientists wish to recreate.

The project is years away from fruition, if it ever gets off the ground, but some people are already worried by this experiment.

Our Precious Atmosphere

I have always believed that we ‘reap what we sow’, and to mess with nature to this extent could be disastrous. For many years, really since the dawn of the industrial age, we have meddled with our world, pumping ever increasing amounts of deadly cocktails into the atmosphere, caring little for the consequences. Part of the result that we are seeing now is the disastrous changes in world weather patterns. Such events as Hurricane Katrina, the tsunami in Japan, drought in Africa, and the major flooding in Pakistan along with vast areas of the Far East, will most probably become a regular event. All of which are a direct result of our uncaring attitude towards the planet we call home.

There have been many hair-brained schemes cooked up to combat the change in global temperatures, and I think this is one of them. Our only real chance of ‘getting things back to normal’, is to sort out ourselves, and more particularly our ‘life goals’ on this planet. Do we wish for all life on our world to be extinguished at some future date? Do we, the current generation even care? Do we really wish to pass on to our children a battle they cannot possibly win, or are we as a race, prepared to make the necessary sacrifices in our lifetime, to save our world for future generations.

Oh Dear! That does sound dramatic, but let me put just one scenario to you.

A Lot Less Cars?

What if every family in the world were to reduce the number cars they had to just one, as it used to be? How many families in your street have two or more cars? As a ‘guesstimate’ on my part, maybe it could cut the number of vehicles on the world’s roads by half, if not more!!!  This one sacrifice would cut global warming by one helluva lot! The amount of Co2 being pumped into the atmosphere could be cut by trillions of tons!!!

Of course, it would mean major sacrifice for many people, and the car manufacturer’s would not be happy. In 2006 manufacturers produced 49,886,549 passenger cars. In 2009, even considering the economic slowdown, a total of 51,971,328 were produced in the US, Western Europe and Japan. When you add to that all the vehicles that already clog our roads, it adds up to a massive amount of Co2 being pumped into the atmosphere.

Industrial Emissions

Coupled with the savings in Co2, would come increased health, because we would not be poisoning the air we breathe in towns and cities across the world. Sure, there are other ways of  reducing carbon emissions, like industry, power generation and aircraft, and these areas must also not be forgotten.

All these things combined could save our planet without having to mess with Mother Nature. For we can be sure, no matter what we do, like seeding the atmosphere, she will have the last word
