Manchester Terror Attack

499331f6e4796064ac25414f6782bafaEngland has suffered yet another terror attack, this time in Manchester. It took place at a pop concert by Ariana Grande that was attended by thousands of people. Currently we have 22 people and children who have died, and a further 55 injured, but the figure of the dead could rise.

This is yet another terrorist attack by the followers of Islam and in my view it has to stop. Young Muslims are being converted to acts of terror by the ISIS infiltrators in our countries and these people must be tracked down and killed or deported. Also, many Imams in mosques are preaching terrorism, and they too should be arrested and ejected from Europe.

The world has had to put up with this for long enough and it is time for rational action to track them down. The war against ISIS in Syria has gone on long enough, and concerted action must be taken by the United Nations to finally end this conflict. An international force is required to enter all countries and wipe out the terrorists. But still the United Nations sits on its fat backside and does nothing.

In my view, a major effort must be made by all nations to wipe out this terrorist threat, for if we do not it will only get worse. Already hundreds of thousands of people have died since ISIS first rose to power and there is no end in sight. How many more people must die to satisfy the bloodlust of ISIS? Also we have the terrorists in places like Nigeria who are causing a lot of deaths.

The Taliban in Afghanistan are also a major threat to world peace, for they are still fighting with the one aim of taking over the whole country. During their last period in power they gave a home to Al Qaeda and it is for sure that if they take over the country again they will do the same for ISIS.

ISIS terrorists have infiltrated most countries of the world, many posing as refugees, especially in Europe. Who knows how many thousands of terrorists have come to Europe with one aim, to sow terror and death among the population.

The sad thing is, most governments are sitting on their hands and not taking sufficient measures to identify these people and remove them. How long must the general public put up with this? If no concerted action is taken by the authorities this will go on and on, and maybe in ten or twenty years they will take over all European countries. If that happens you can bet your life that America will be next. Their one aim is to make the world a Muslim world.

This will never happen, but it does not rule out that at some time in the future we will see bloody action on the streets of many countries. Although ISIS have almost been driven out of Syria it is certain that many will come to Europe to carry on the fight. Terrorist attacks in Europe are at the moment few and far between, but when they are driven out of Syria more ISIS terrorists will make the crossing of the Mediterranean Sea to Europe. When this happens you can bet your life that the number of attacks will increase drastically.

These people are driven by an ideology that says they are destined to rule the world, and their one aim is to make the whole world Muslim. This is the reason why the governments of the world must take a stand against these people and make them realize that it will never happen.

At the moment the governments of all countries are doing nothing to make this clear to the Muslims, and so the terror goes on. How it will end is anyone’s guess!

The Veto Scandal

Posted in America, Britain, Equality, European Union, Islamic Revolution, Israel, News, Security Council, Summit, United Nations with tags , , , , on 13/04/2017 by floroy1942

Is it any wonder that Russia vetoed the Security Councils resolution on the Syria chemical attack? The veto has been a thorn in the side of the United Nations for the last forty years.

Russian Veto

In my view the only reason Russia is backing Assad is to retain their military bases in Syria. Practically the whole world  blames Assad for the chemical attacks on his own people but Russia still stands by him, and has done since the beginning of the conflict.

Russia has a naval base in Syria on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea given to them by Assad and they don’t want to lose it, which is why they are backing him.

Negotiations have been going on for years trying to stop Assad from using chemical weapons on his own people, but all have failed because of Russia’s backing.

Founders of the United Nations

The veto goes back to the time when the United Nations was formed by Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin after the Second World War and they initiated the veto to stop other countries from putting the world in danger. It has survived up to the present day and many of the decisions made by various countries have stopped positive action being taken against nations that have caused problems. The only exception was the Korean War which took place in 1950. Here the United Nations acted as it was supposed to and stopped the Communists from taking over the whole Korean peninsula.

But when you get to the present day the veto has caused more problems in the world. The United States vetoed any action against Israel during the war with Egypt in 1973 among many others, and Russia has constantly vetoed any action against Assad.

In my view the veto should be scrapped, for all countries must have a say in how the world is run. If it is, then we can stop many conflicts around the world before they get started.

I have for a long time said that the United Nations has a duty to put an end to the ISIS threat once and for all. It should gather a group of nations and go in and wipe them out. Once ISIL has been thoroughly defeated then the world can return to peace, and Islam will get the message that they will never end up ruling the world. Assad should be arrested and put on trial for the atrocities he has committed against his own people.

It is only by the concerted efforts of all countries that this debacle will end. The sad thing is, it will never end until Russia stops backing Assad.

Sad to say, the United Nations has lost its original mandate and become nothing more than a talking shop that does not achieve anything when it comes to world peace. The true purpose of its foundation was lost years ago, and today it does nothing more than verbally ‘condemn’ actions by countries or groups that want to cause trouble.

The Syrian war has been going on for years, but if the United Nations had stepped in positively at the beginning it would have been long over.

It is time for the United Nations to start acting as it was intended, and prevent wars breaking out. If it does not, then we might as well scrap it.

Things Are Hotting Up!

Posted in America, Britain, Canada, England, European Union, Islamic State, News, Politics, Russia, United Nations with tags , , , , on 12/03/2017 by floroy1942

Its looks to me like things are getting nastier in this world as we now have a new war of words between Turkey and the Netherlands. The country banned entry to a Turkish diplomat who wished to address the large Turkish community in the country.

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu Refused Entry To Holland

This has led to great anger in the Turkish government and also among the Turkish residents in The Netherlands. This is yet another spat between countries that can be added to those already around the world.

There can be no doubt that we are in desperate times, what with the number of problems this world is facing at this time. It makes you wonder how all this will end.

Disagreement Over Syria.

There are major disagreements about how to handle the ISIS problems in Iraq, and the constant threat of terrorists attacks in Europe. Disagreements between Russia and the USA over how to handle the Syrian crisis are still there, and no major efforts have been made to solve this problem.

President Trump has sparked anger with his ban on immigrants from Muslim Countries, plus the removal today of the President of South Korea Park Geun-hye. North Korea is continuing with its nuclear and missile tests which is also raising concern among many nations.

Demonstration

In many countries across the world there is civil unrest aimed at governments and government decisions on various subjects, so it makes you wonder what the future holds. There has never been such turmoil among nations since the Second World War. It makes me wonder where the world is headed, for we face the possibility of major conflicts breaking out in the near future.

The United Nations is keeping very quiet on all these subjects, and the world has not heard a word from them when they should be doing all they can to solve these problems. After all, that is why the UN was formed, to be an open forum for nations to discuss and solve political crisis in the world.

It is certainly time for the UN to step forward and start negotiations with all these countries to try and solve their differences, but unfortunately the UN is a shadow of its former self and has become almost useless.

António Guterres – Maybe He Can Make A Difference

What has it done about the problems in Iraq with ISIS – nothing! In my view it should have got together an International Force and gone to that country and wiped out these people, the same with Nigeria and the many other countries these people infest. It should also have taken positive steps to stop the nuclear threat from North Korea and gone into Ukraine to stop the troubles there. I am sorry to say that the UN has forgotten what its mandate is, i.e. world peace!

Vetoes In The UN.

Agreement can only be reached via the United Nations where countries come together and talk. Talks should be constructive, and each country must be willing to negotiate and surrender to the will of the majority. The veto held by Russia, the United States, China, France and Great Britain must be scrapped so that we can make decisions based on a majority. It does no good when all the countries approve of a decision but it can be scrapped by a single country.  Most times the veto is used because that country is looking out for its own interests.

The general public in the West hear of all this trouble on the news daily, but do not seem interested enough to protest that governments do something about it. Their main concern is that none of this interrupts their own lives. It is a sad indication of our times that people only think of themselves.

The World’s Problems On The News – Forgotten Within Five Minutes

For example, they watch the TV news and hear of the twenty million starving people in Africa, but five minutes later they have forgotten all about it as they concentrate on their own lives. We in the West are so lucky that we do not have to face such problems, but please, spare a thought for those poor people!

A Starving Child

Western governments should be doing all they can to solve crisis such as this by sending money and food to these places and ensuring a fair distribution of it. Unfortunately, with the amount of corruption in the world today, much of this assistance would not reach those in desperate need. If God were to come down and remove all the corrupt people in the world with a wave of his hand most of humanity would disappear.

There can be little doubt that the world is heading for a tumultuous period in its history yet again, and we can only hope that someone takes action to solve all this crisis.

Israel – The Slow But Sure Land Grab.

Posted in America, Arab, Britain, European Union, Israel, Justice, Netanyahu, News, Palestine, United Nations with tags , , , , on 03/02/2017 by floroy1942

What would you say if your neighboring country slowly, bit by bit, started taking over your land and built settlements in your country? Naturally you would be outraged and start doing something about it. So why is the world not doing something about the gradual takeover of Palestinian land by Israel?

Ever since 1947 Israel has expanded its territory into Palestine by building settlements and towns on land that does not belong to them. The Palestinians have complained to the United Nations, and every major country in the world, but all complaints have fallen on deaf ears. If this keeps up, within a few years Palestine will no longer exist because it will have been taken over in its entirety by the Israelis.

In excess of 600,000 Jews live in about 140 settlements built since Israel annexed the West Bank and East Jerusalem after the 1967 war, all on Palestinian land. On Wednesday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was moving ahead with plans to set up a new settlement on the West Bank ‘for the first time in more than two decades’.

The announcement came as Israeli police cleared protesters from the unauthorised settler outpost of Amona. Israel’s Supreme Court has ordered Amona to be dismantled because it was built on private Palestinian land. So why have they not done this before?

The United Nations has for years condemned the land grab by Israel, but they have taken no action to put a stop to it except to vocally condemn the actions of the Israeli government.

How would the American’s feel if Canada or Mexico began building settlements over the border and claiming it for themselves? You can bet your life there would be an uproar of protestation, and it might even get to the stage of military action.

No such thing is taking place in Israel and Palestine, for the Palestinian cries of protest have all fallen on deaf ears for years, thanks to the backing of the United States who are solidly behind Israel. Now with Trump in charge we may see a change in attitude by the United States.

The Shrinking Map Of Palestine

The Shrinking Map Of Palestine

When Israel went to war with the surrounding Arab states in 1967 and 1973 they won convincingly and claimed the Sinai desert as their own. Even when Palestinian fighters fought against Israel to try and save their land they were called terrorists and quickly defeated. Since that time the Israeli borders have pushed back steadily until today, Palestine has all but disappeared.

You can be pretty certain that the small areas still under Palestinian control will disappear in the next few years, and Palestine will be wiped from the map completely to become the State of Israel.

Don’t for one minute think that I am a Palestinian sympathiser for I am not, but this injustice has to have a voice somewhere.

A Funny Look At 2016

Posted in America, Britain, British Humour, Canada, England, European Union, News, Politics, UK, United Nations with tags , , , , on 02/01/2017 by floroy1942

1Yesterday I went to a Christmas party. I had a few beers, followed by a few Brandy and Cokes and a couple of double shots …I still had the sense to know that I was over the limit. That’s when I decided to do what I have never done before: I took a cab home.
Sure enough, there was a police road block on the way home, and since it was a cab, they waved it past. I arrived safely without incident. This was both a great relief and a surprise because I had never driven a cab before. I don’t even know where I got it from and, now that it is in my garage, I don’t know what to do with it.

2A guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge (still working), he put it in his front yard and hung a  Sign on it saying: Free to good home. You want it, you take it.’ For three days the fridge sat there without anyone looking twice.  He eventually decided that people were too mistrustful of this deal. So he changed the sign to read: ‘Fridge for sale $50.’ The next day someone stole it!

My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria when we overheard an admin girl talking about the sunburn she got on her weekend drive to the beach. She drove down in a convertible, but said she “didn’t think she’d get sunburned because the car was moving.”

4

I couldn’t find my luggage at the airport baggage area and went to the lost luggage office and reported the loss. The woman there smiled and told me not to worry because she was a trained professional and  said I was in good hands. ‘Now,’ she asked me,  ‘has your plane arrived yet?’…

5

A man was driving when he saw the flash of a traffic camera. He figured that his picture had been taken for exceeding the limit, even though he knew that he was not speeding. Just to be sure, he went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed. Now he began to think that this was quite funny, so he drove even slower as he passed the area again, but the traffic camera again flashed. He tried a fourth time with the same result. He did this a fifth time and was now laughing when the camera flashed as he rolled past, this time at a snail’s pace. Two weeks later, he got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt !!!

6

While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man ordering a small pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and the cook  asked him if he would like it cut into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time then said “Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don’t think I’m hungry enough to eat 6 pieces.”

7

My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car which is designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the car trunk.

While looking at a house, my brother asked the estate agent which direction was north because he didn’t want the sun waking him up every morning. She asked, ‘Does the sun rise in the north?’ My brother explained that the sun rises in the east and has for some time. She shook her head and said, ‘Oh, I don’t keep up with all that stuff……’

Interview with 101 year-old Hattie Mae MacDonald of Feague, Kentucky: Reporter: Can you give us some health tips for reaching the age of 101? Hattie: For better digestion I drink beer. In the case of appetite loss I drink white wine. For low blood pressure I drink Red Wine. In the case of high blood pressure I drink scotch. And when I have a cold I drink Schnapps. Reporter: When do you drink water? Hattie: I’ve never been that sick.

I hope you enjoyed it. Have a happy new year.

Where Is Our World Heading?

Posted in America, Britain, European Union, Islamic State, Muslim, News, Nuclear Weapons, Politics, Security Council, United Nations with tags , , , , on 09/11/2016 by floroy1942

Not since the Second World War have there been so many problems in our world as today. It makes me wonder what our future holds for us. On every continent there is trouble and strife, unbounded crime, often violent demonstrations by the public, and in many cases war.

What does the future hold for the human race? Are we headed for complete annihilation in a few decades? The steadily rising tensions between the United States and Russia are an indication that we could be headed for a nuclear war if someone doesn’t do something to cool down relations between the two countries.

This has all been brought about by the rising tensions over the battles raging in Syria because the Russians back Assad, while the West considers him a criminal.

The ISIS insurgency is causing major problems all across the world from the Far East to Western shores and currently there is no end solution. As I have often said, if the U.N. were to put together an international force to wipe out ISIS and all other Muslim insurgents wherever they appear we could return to peace, but they just don’t seem interested. So consequently we have many nations fighting this terrorist organisation and they cannot all agree on the way forward. This is causing tensions among many governments and has led to major disagreements between Russia and the western nations.

Also there is the rising tensions between China and many Far Eastern countries over control of the East and South China Seas, which China claims for itself. They have no right to do this, and many countries including Japan, are fighting against it.

On top of this we have the governments of many lands at loggerheads with the population in many parts of the world where people want a change of leadership. This is evident in places like South Africa, Venezuela, Libya, Yemen, Japan and even Singapore among many others. Unrest is spreading across the globe as more and more people are dissatisfied with their government. The world has never seen as many problems as we have now.

The big problem for mankind is, where will it all end? If Russia and the West cannot solve their problems we could see a nuclear war breaking out, and that would mean the end of life on this planet. The leaders of the world need to come together to work out plans for peace before we end up starting the Armageddon process from which there would be no turning back.

The United Nations (even the name is a farce for they are a long way from being united) needs to come together with no preconceived ideas, and talk to each other honestly and with sincerity if the human race is to survive.

All countries need to work together if we are to solve the tensions that exists between nations. On top of that, they need to discuss the many problems that face the world like famine, hunger, over population, climate change, and of course the threat of wars breaking out.

Ever since the United Nations stepped in to stop communists from taking over South Korea in 1950 it has done nothing but stand on the sidelines. There have been many high level discussions about problems in the world, but all have achieved nothing.

To my mind the United Nations has outgrown its usefulness for they seem incapable of solving any of the world’s problems. I have not heard yet of a top level meeting between the five nations of the Security Council to solve the ongoing problems between Russia and The West. You have to ask if they are capable of doing such a thing, for everyone is out for their own interests.

With the rising tensions across the world one would expect the U.N. to be in the forefront of attempts to make peace, but no, they just sit on their fat backsides and do nothing.

People in most countries not directly affected by these tensions go about their daily business without a care in the world, for they do not see the building of tensions among certain countries and what could ensue from this.

If mankind is to survive there has to be serious discussion and agreement on tackling the problems of the world, otherwise we are all lost. Lets hope that in the near future the people at the top will see the sense in this.

Donald Trump Joke!

Posted in America, Britain, British Humour, Canada, England, European Union, News, UK, United Nations with tags , , , , on 19/08/2016 by floroy1942

Donald Trump goes on a fact-finding visit to Israel. While he is on a tour  of Jerusalem he suffers a heart attack and dies.

The undertaker tells the American Diplomats accompanying him, ‘You can have  him shipped home for $50,000, or you can bury him here, in the Holy Land for  just $100.’

The American Diplomats go into a corner and discuss for a few minutes. They  come back to the undertaker and tell him they want Donald shipped home.

The undertaker is puzzled and asks, ‘Why would you spend $50,000 to ship him  home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only $100?

The American Diplomats replied, ‘Long ago a man died here, was buried here,  and three days later he rose from the dead. We just can’t take the risk.’
