Say Goodbye To Elephants and Rhinoceros

Posted in America, Britain, Conservation, Environment, European Union, Nature, News, Torture, UK, USA with tags , , , , on 25/09/2016 by floroy1942

The fact that we are destroying our world is becoming more and more evident, and I don’t mean the atmospheric, land and ocean pollution. From reports out today it would seem that we are destroying the world’s animals too at an ever increasing rate.

The Decline In The Elephant Population

The Decline In The Elephant Population

In particular I am writing about elephants and rhinoceros in Africa where 30% have been destroyed in the last seven years. If this keeps up, in 15 years time there will be none left, and like so many other species, they will disappear into history.

Whatever you like to think about this, mankind is the most destructive force on the planet, and taking that into consideration the planet will not survive must longer, or at least we won’t.

Poachers At Work

Poachers At Work

These animals are killed for their horns which some Far Eastern countries like China, Indonesia and Vietnam, believe can be made into a miracle cure for all sorts of diseases. How they arrived at this conclusion is beyond me, for none of it is true and science has proved it. When you take it down to the bare bones, its all about profit and making money.

Walking through the tourist areas of Far Eastern cities you find sculptures carved from the horns of elephants and rhino’s, all to attract sales from the gullible tourists. Buying such things just assists the destruction of these wild animals.

We have lost 42 species of animals and birds in just the 20th century, including the Barbary Lion, various species of tiger, the Kamchatka bear, Dawson’s caribou, the Greenland reindeer plus a host of birds and insects. They are all gone never to return.

Some people call this progress, but the tragic reality is that we are destroying our world at an ever-increasing pace. The sad thing is, nobody cares. I am in my latter years, but nobody thinks about what our children and their children will face with the legacy we are leaving them.

A Rhino De-Horned But Left Alive

A Rhino De-Horned But Left Alive

One by one the animals and birds of the world are disappearing and the rate has increased ten-fold in the last 100 years. Not only that, but we are poisoning our atmosphere, the ground, and the oceans at an ever increasing rate. What does that say for the future of this planet and our children?

Billed as the largest gathering in the 43-year history of the convention, the 17th Conference of the Parties will see more than 2,500 delegates from more than 180 countries come together in Johannesburg. What will they achieve? In my estimation, very little. We have had these talking shops so many times in the past, but all have achieved nothing on the grand scale of things.

In my opinion, the only way to put an end to this mindless shooting of elephants and rhino’s for profit is for all countries to make it a capital offence. When caught you will be hung.

An Ivory Carving

An Ivory Carving

The governments of the Far East must close down all these ‘doctors’ who prescribe ointments and such made from tusks and ensure they never practice again. All tourist shops selling items made from ivory should have their stock confiscated and destroyed.

I know many will think this is impossible, and it probably is, but we must do something to save these species of animals. Once all the elephants and rhino’s have disappeared what will these people turn to next? Your guess is as good as mine.

Breast Ironing – The Barbaric Torture Of Young Girls

Posted in America, Britain, Child Abuse, Children, England, Health, Immigrants, News, Parenting, Torture with tags , , , , on 10/04/2016 by floroy1942

I have come to the conclusion that in many countries some people are still barbaric beyond description. It is unbelievable that in this day and age countries still hold on to torture as a way of life. I wrote some time ago about the genital mutilation of young girls by Muslim families, but now I discovered that there are other forms of torture that are traditional.

Breast Ironing Using A Hot Rock

Breast Ironing Using A Hot Rock

One of these is breast ironing which is prevalent in some African countries and is carried out by immigrants in Britain today. The general idea is to prevent the natural growth of breasts in young girls, and involves them having their breasts beaten, burnt and massaged in order to stop them developing.

The reason for this is to make young girls and women less attractive to the opposite sex so they can concentrate on school work. Really, of all the excuses I have ever heard this must be one of the most ridiculous.

One young woman said, “They put a spatula on the fire and then they press it on the breast, and yes, it hurts. Then it goes weak, it’s like melting, fat melting and you can feel the breast going back.” Once this is completed they often have their breasts bound tightly to prevent any further growth.

All this torture just so they can concentrate on their school lessons, and prevent them being attractive to young boys? What sort of animals are these people?

Tightly Bound To Prevent Natural Growth

Tightly Bound To Prevent Natural Growth

Experts are of the opinion that such torture can lead to cysts, abscesses, and even breast cancer. Geraldine Yenwo, the founder of Came Women and Girls Development Organisation said, “A lot of them have inverted nipples, they’re not able to breastfeed their children. Emotionally and psychologically, your self-esteem is very badly affected. Physically, some of them have one large and one flattened breast.”

Conservative MP Jake Berry is requesting the government make such actions illegal, and so it should be. Those responsible for such acts should be locked away for a very long time, for this type of torture does not belong in the modern age, much the same as genital mutilation.

What Can Often Be The End Result

What Can Often Be The End Result

I know that there are many backward civilizations in the world, but to intentionally mutilate your children seems to me beyond bizarre, and it makes you wonder why this sort of tradition ever became ‘normal’ with some people.

Slave Labour In Saudi Arabia

Posted in Equality, Human Rights, Immigrants, Justice, Muslim, News, Ransom, Religion, Saudi Arabia, Torture with tags , , , , on 10/05/2015 by floroy1942
Satinah Binti Jumadi Ahmad

Satinah Binti Jumadi Ahmad

It seldom reaches the news pages, but in Saudi Arabia thousands of young Indonesian girls and women are working as virtual slaves in the homes of wealthy Saudi’s.

Until recently it was common practice for the family they were working for to confiscate their passports and keep them a virtual prisoner. They were paid little for working almost 24 hour a day and time off was almost non-existent. They were totally at the mercy of those that ’employed’ them.

Reading an article from last year I came across the fact that one such person, 41 year-old Satinah Binti Jumadi Ahmad had eventually snapped and killed her employer, stole 37,970 Saudi Arabian riyal (£6,140) and fled the house. Although she has always claimed she acted in self-defence, she was found guilty of murder and sentenced to death by the Saudi court – unless her family paid the sum of seven million riyal in ‘blood money’ to the family. From the report it would seem that this is acceptable practice under Islāmic Law.

Her family immediately tried to raise this ‘blood money’ from donations but fell far short of the target. Thankfully the Indonesian government stepped in and paid the al-Garib family their ransom.

Saudi Execution

Saudi Execution

From the report it seems that it is not uncommon for Indonesian women to be in this situation, for at the time of the report there are some 246 migrant workers on death row awaiting execution. The Indonesian government says it has so far saved 176 migrants from the death penalty by paying the ransom.

After saving Satinah Binti Jumadi Ahmad the Indonesian government entered into negotiations with the Saudi government to try and improve the living standards of its citizens working in the country. According to the Human Rights Watch, in February of this year negotiations were agreed that allowed Indonesian domestic workers to keep their passports, communicate with families, have time off and get paid monthly. Mind you, for the government to agree to this and have the affected families follow the new rules is something else again.

With all their money it would hardly seem credible that wealthy Saudi families would stoop so low as to keep what accounts to a slave in their house. It is clear that in Saudi immigrants have little or no rights whatsoever. It does not surprise me that eventually some individuals snap and kill their employer when forced to work under such conditions. Having to take beatings day after day is not what I would call ’employment’.

We Sentence You To Be Paralyzed

Posted in Arab, Human Rights, Insanity, Justice, Modern World, Muslim, Religion, Sharia Law, Torture with tags , , , on 05/04/2013 by floroy1942

I have often written of the bestiality of Sharia Law as do others, but yesterday’s news from Saudi Arabia, a so-called civilized nation, is disgraceful. Admittedly, the man in question attacked another with a knife that left the victim paralyzed, but now a Sharia Court has sentenced the assailant to be medically paralyzed. The call came from relatives of the victim who claimed this be done under the ‘eye for an eye’ law in Sharia.

Many medical practitioners in the country refused to carry out the operation, but it seems they have at last found one who was willing to do the surgery.

Naturally, the victim has my full sympathy, but to deliberately cause the offender to suffer this is barbaric to say the least. Lock him away, give him hard labour by all means but not this. He has already served ten years in prison while the courts tried to find a willing medical team, but now the search is over.

This is just a single case from an entire history of such abuses. People have had their eyes gouged out, hands chopped off, teeth removed, public flogging and not to forget the stoning to death of women. Its like Muslims are living in the Middle Ages and not the 21st century.

The question is, will it ever change? I would say there is little chance of that because it is embedded in their religion, and no matter how much we protest at this inhumanity it will never change. It is without doubt a sad indictment of today’s world.

UN Investigator – Death Penalty Is Torture! Really?

Posted in America, Britain, Europe, Human Rights, Modern World, Prison, Torture, UK, USA with tags , , , on 25/10/2012 by floroy1942

As the years go by I sometimes think the world is getting crazier by the minute. There are so many loonies loose in society today who all want to be taken seriously that it makes me wonder which part of the woodwork they spring from. Now we have a UN investigator called Juan Mendez who considers the death sentence for criminals amounts to torture because it inflicts physical and mental pain on those about to die. My answer to that is: So what!

A Grieving Family

A Grieving Family

We have over the last thirty years or so entered a time where more thought is given to the murderers, torturers and rapists than to the victims. Many governments are looking to the Human Rights Act which gives everyone a ‘right to life’, even sadists and mass murderers. If Hitler and his SS buddies were alive today they would have received a paltry prison sentence and been back out on the streets. The pendulum has swung so far the other way that nobody gives a hoot for the loss of life, the pain and suffering of the victims of crime caused by mindless acts of violence.

In many people’s minds we cannot possibly condemn a vicious rapist, mass murderer or torturer to death because that is cruel punishment. Instead they prefer to house them in a comfortable prison at the tax payers expense for the rest of their miserable lives. In very many countries the prison system is overloaded and costs the tax payer billions a year just to keep them off the streets and yet they would never cause any more heartache and pain if they received a just sentence – i.e. the death penalty. “An eye for an eye” as the good book tells us.

UK Prisoner - Snooker Anyone?

UK Prisoner – Snooker Anyone?

But this is something the human rights idiots have been able to latch on to and gain some success for some ungodly reason. But what makes me angry is the total lack of sympathy for the victims of vicious crime and grieving parents. The justice systems in most western countries seems so intent on making sure the perpetrator has his ‘human rights’ respected that those of the victims are mostly brushed aside.

The Face Of A Callous Killer

I wrote some time ago about an Iraqi illegal immigrant who came to Britain and entered a life of crime stretching over a number of years and had served several terms in prison. One day he struck a 12 year-old girl with his car and when he stopped she was alive, but trapped under the wheels of his car. Instead of helping her he dragged her along the road for several yards as he drove off and left her to die in the road. He was caught and appeared before the judge who gave him a four-month prison sentence. He had previously been sentenced to deportation for earlier offences, but this is where the Human Rights Act enters the story. Because he had married an English girl after one of his prison sentences and had two children with her, he could no longer be deported because he claimed ‘the right to family life’ under Article Eight of the act. It was bad enough that he got only a four-month prison sentence for killing the child while banned from driving for earlier offences, but then the law could not even deport him for his string of criminal activities when he was illegal in the first place. Such is the state of the law today.

A Buffoon - Juan Mendez

A Buffoon – Juan Mendez

And now we have Senor Mendez decrying the death penalty because is is too cruel on the criminals. He is quoted as saying, “States (i.e. American states) need to re-examine their procedures under international law because the ability of states to impose and carry out the death penalty is diminishing as these practices are increasingly viewed to constitute torture.” He also said, “there was no such thing as a pain-free form of execution, which makes it difficult to reject the idea that it is a form of torture”.

He seems to forget that we all have to face up to the fact that not everyone is the same, and there are in society many people with ‘sick’ minds who like the prospect of inflicting pain and suffering on people, and before any of the Human Rights lobby want to make a case of the ‘sick’ word, let me explain that I mean perverted, malicious and evil.

American Cell - The Bare Necessities

American Cell – The Bare Necessities

Personally, I don’t give a rat’s backside if some sadist or mass murderer feels a little ‘uncomfortable’ as he receives a lethal injection or gets the noose or firing squad, to hell with his feelings and pain, he brought it on himself and must pay a just penalty. If it hurts it sure as hell won’t last as long as his victims pain, and that of the grieving family!

Too Few Countries Still Have The Death Penalty

Too Few Countries Still Have The Death Penalty

Really, what would this idiot Mendez have the courts do, wrap them in cotton wool, slap them on the wrist and send them to a holiday camp? Oh sorry, they do that already, and call them prisons. To deter the vicious cycle of violence we find ourselves in, due to the weakness of many countries justice systems, we need now more than ever the deterrent of the death penalty. In the old days when the death sentence was in full use, without the condemned spending years on Death Row I might add,  we had one hundredth of the murders and vicious killings we do now. There is a lesson there!

India’s Shame – The Starving Children

Posted in Britain, Child Abuse, Children, Health, Human Rights, News, Nuclear Proliferation, Nuclear Weapons, Torture, UK with tags , , , , on 24/11/2011 by floroy1942

In a country that has seen enormous economic growth in the last decade, has nuclear weapons and a space programme, its hard to imagine that 41.6% of its people are reliant on foreign aid to keep them alive.

India´s Economy – Set for 8.5% Growth Per Year

Since 2000, the economic wealth of India has grown to the extent that it is now the ninth largest economy in the world, and fourth largest in terms of purchasing power, and yet many of its children are starving to death.

India first tested a nuclear bomb in 1974 and now has an arsenal of such weapons. Year on year the government is spending billions of dollars to develop, aircraft, aircraft carriers and submarines as a means to deliver them, and yet many of its children are dying of hunger.

Space Programme – More Important Than Children´s Lives?

The country also has an expensive space programme which has put up several satellites, the first being Aryabhata, launched in 1975 aboard a Russian rocket, and yet the children of India are starving to death.

With hardship so widespread in India, some 41.6% of the population are living below the poverty line according to 2005 figures, it is hard to imagine that the country can afford the extravagance of nuclear weapons and a space programme, but such is the mind of governments!

Looking For Scraps

Ever since India joined the free-market economies of the world, it has seen a massive increase in the middle class sector, due for the most part to the country embracing modern technology and providing services to other countries. The destitute have however been left far behind in this growth, for India has more starving people than the whole of Africa. Recent estimates put the number of people  below the poverty line in Africa at 410 million, while in India the figure is 645 million. The latest population estimates indicate India has in excess of 1.2 billion inhabitants which makes it the second largest country after China  in terms of inhabitants.

Ever since 1947 when India was given independence by the British Parliament, our government, among others, has been pumping aid money into the country to the tune of hundreds of millions of pounds every year. The present government under David Cameron has elected to continue paying £280 million a year until 2015 into the coffers of the Indian government in New Delhi. India has one of the largest food aid programmes in the world.

Ultimately Responsible?

What is now under discussion, is what happens to that money?

This is where the ancient beast corruption raises its head once again. Not surprisingly, it is not only the low level workers that are stealing aid intended for the poorest families, but many government officials who are supposed to oversee distribution.

Desperate For Food

Rations Packs intended for the most needy children are being systematically hi-jacked on route and sold on the black market as, believe it or not, animal feed. In the meantime, the poor, for whom this aid means life or death, are dying from malnutrition to the tune of two million a year. Some 61 million children (48%) in India suffer from stunted growth due to malnutrition.

A Mother and Dying Child

I really have no idea if this is the Indian governments macabre idea of population control, or if it is just plain greed and corruption, but I hope it’s the latter. Whichever way you look at it, many people are getting obscenely rich over the corpses of the country’s young. Also, it seems to me we are doing nothing more than footing the bill for their nuclear and space programmes, for the one thing that seems to be missing is a sense of priorities.

British Sanctuary For Torturers? What Next?

Posted in Benefits, Britain, England, Europe, Extradition, Human Rights, Insanity, Justice, Political Correctness, Torture, UK with tags , , , , , , , on 27/05/2011 by floroy1942

What a shame no-one told bin Laden about the pitiful state of British and European Human Rights Laws, for had he claimed sanctuary we could not possibly have refused!

It has just been revealed that one of the vicious torturers working for dictator Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, has been granted the right to stay in the UK at tax payers expense indefinitely because he claims his ‘human rights’ would be threatened if he was deported from Britain.

Phillip Machemedze Living In Fishpond – Bristol

Among the reported exploits of Phillip Machemedze’s  are the following: He smashed the jaw of one victim with a pair of pliers before pulling out all the persons teeth, he gave electric shocks to a white farmer and whipped a woman before rubbing salt into her wounds. He is also known to have taken part in the ‘slow’ killing of one of Mugabe’s political rivals.

Zimbabwe Torture Report:

Torture in Zimbabwe

It would seem Machemedze ‘grew tired’ of his job as enforcer for Mugabe some eleven years ago, and with his wife moved to Britain on a temporary visa. The pair claimed asylum after Machemedze was said to have fallen out with Mugabe and feared for his life if returned. Both have been receiving HIV treatment at the tax payers expense ever since.

During the original judgement that allowed the pair to stay in the UK indefinitely, Judge Robert Martin said; “It is true that Phillip Machemedze committed abhorrent acts and deserves no sympathy or favours, however, it is also true that we are bound by the European Convention on Human Rights, and Articles 2 and 3 are absolute.” .

Will Mugabe Himself Be Next?

When the Home Office lodged an appeal against the ruling the asylum appeal Judge, Mr. Justice Davis Archer said of Machemedze; “Whatever crimes he has committed he cannot be returned to face the highly likely prospect of torture and execution without trial.”

Zimbabwe Torture Victims

To me, this ruling makes it very clear that European lawmakers need to take a long hard look at the laws they are responsible for, because it cannot be right in any society that we must not only harbour, but also give succour, to such a man as this. He deserves to be deported back to Zimbabwe and suffer the same pain he inflicted so joyfully upon others.

If monsters such as this can use our human rights laws to claim sanctuary, then the system has to be badly flawed. Like the protection given to radical Muslim priests and insurgents, this is disgraceful.

North Korea – The Concentration Camps of Death!

Posted in Government, Human Rights, Insanity, Modern World, North Korea, North Korea Labour Camps, Prison, Torture with tags , , , , , , on 09/01/2011 by floroy1942

For years, North Korea has been one of the most secretive nations on Earth, but from time to time, the veil of secrecy has been lifted by people managing successfully to escape from the tyranny that exists there. With them, they have brought tales of horror that are hard to believe in this century.

The Infamous 38th Parallel – Korean War Photo

North Korea’s troubles began directly after the Japanese were evicted from the country by their defeat at the end of World War 2. Korea was divided along the 38th Parallel by the United Nations with the North being governed by Russia, and the South by America.

Stalin wanted a system of government in the country that was sympathetic to Russia, so a totalitarian regime was installed in 1948 under Kim Il-sung, who ruled with absolute power until his death in 1994. Since then of course, his son Kim Jong-il has continued to rule with an iron fist.

Such is the unrivalled power father and son have achieved, they are cult figures within the country. It is said the ordinary people are convinced Kim Il-sung created the world and his son can control the weather, such is the depth of control they have over people’s minds. It is a perfect example of ‘brainwashing’ on an unparalleled scale.

In the aftermath of the Korean war of 1950, waged by North Korea with the explicit approval of Stalin and China, the country became more secretive, practically shutting itself off from the rest of the world. Few people have known what goes on behind the closed borders over the last fifty odd years, and many discounted the stories of atrocities that managed to leak out as unbelievable.

It is known the country suffered a catastrophic famine after the collapse of the Soviet Union, which claimed the lives of an estimated 900,000 to 2 million people. This led to Kim Jong-il, who ruled by this time, to strengthen the power of the military and government and thus his own position as undisputed leader.

Rehabilitation

Anyone caught criticising him or the government, was immediately sent to one of the now famous detention camps. These centres were begun by his father Kim Il-sung, who decreed that three generations of anyone heard to utter criticism of the government or himself would be imprisoned, many for life. He considered this necessary to totally eradicate dissension, for he believed dissenting parents begot dissenting children. So for example, if your grandfather were to commit an offence leading to his imprisonment, your parents and all of their children would join him. This has resulted in large populations of children in the camps, who like the rest, are often worked to death.

The North Korean people have been indoctrinated to such an extent, that they consider it right to inform on family members and neighbours if any word against the state is uttered. In fact, if you did not, you could end up in the camps alongside the perpetrator.

The conditions in the camps have been highlighted many times by escapees who made it to South Korea. Sadly, many who escaped to China were handed back to the North Korean government where most were put to death.

From those who have been successful in gaining freedom, stories have emerged that will chill your blood.

The North Korean Detention Centres

There are five main camps, although there are more less important ones, all totally cut off from the outside world. Once inside, you can expect to work for 14 hours a day on starvation rations. Many prisoners end up there for life, although life is invariably cut short by starvation and disease. After ‘Political Re-education’, some family members may be released after three years.

Women are usually set to work making shoes or leather bags (make sure your G**** handbag was not manufactured in the DKPR), while men work on construction or in the mines. It is strictly forbidden to speak while working, and infractions are punished severely. Anyone who is considered to be working too slowly is beaten or given more arduous work.

At the end of each work shift the prisoners are subjected to ‘Self-Criticism Sessions’ in which they have to criticise themselves and fellow prisoners.

One of the punishments often favoured is to force prisoners to sit or kneel in a certain position, silent, and without moving, for hours on end. The slightest sound, twitch of a finger, hand, or the head brings with it a severe beating. When groups of prisoners are receiving the same punishment they are forced to slap and beat each other for any infringement.

Kneeling Torture

One man was made to kneel for twenty-four hours without moving a muscle. Many who suffered this punishment said the pain was indescribable, and much more painful than a beating at the hands of the guards.

Sexual contact between inmates is strictly forbidden and if a woman becomes pregnant, say perhaps from being raped by a guard, she is given an enforced abortion. Some, who manage to carry their child full term, are forced to watch while guards swing the new-born by the legs and smash its head against a wall or post.

At any time, inmates are forced to beat one of their number for a minor infraction of the rules. Major transgressions are punished by incarceration for up to a week in a box so small it is impossible to stand or sit. As with the immobility torture, I cannot even begin to imagine the muscular pain of such a thing.

The Infamous Water Torture

Water torture, which horrified the world when it was revealed the americans had used it on terrorist suspects, is a daily occurrence in North Korea, yet for this, the world stays silent.

Inmates can receive beatings with an iron rod on the fingernails or the backs of their hands at the whim of a guard. In many cases, prisoners confess to things they have not done just to put an end to the pain.

The list of atrocities committed in the camps is endless if you take the time to do a little research on the matter. It seems incredible to me that such a regime could exist in this age of enlightenment and freedom, but it does by means of its totalitarianism. In such a country, every breath you draw is courtesy of the leader and government.

With the illness of Kim Jong-il the possibility of a change of leadership draws near. There is little doubt that Kim Jong-il’s youngest son, Kim Jong-un, will succeed him for he is already being groomed for the part. The West knows very little of him, but from what I have seen in all the news footage, the one thing that strikes me is I have not seen him smile once. He has the perfect poker face, and to know what is going on behind those cold eyes is impossible.

Kim Jong-un – The Heir Apparent

Many Pundits claim he will be a figurehead, and the real power will lie with the men who surround him. Whether he does gain real control of the nation and turns out to be a leader who brings his country out of the darkness, or plunges it further into hell, remains to be seen. As Kim Jong-un is the youngest son, perhaps we will see a struggle for power from the two older brothers who may feel they should have been chosen to succeed their father, but that is extremely unlikely.

Either way, the West is watching the events in North Korea closely, and only time will tell what the future holds for the down-trodden people of North Korea.

Why American Troops Are Losing the Afghan War

Posted in Afghanistan, Al Quada, Arab, Insanity, Insurgents, Islamic Revolution, Justice, Modern World, Muslim, Prison, Religion, Taliban, Terrorism, Terrorists, Torture, UK, USA with tags , , , , , , , , , , on 21/09/2010 by floroy1942

Hearts and Minds - The Way to Victory

While the greater majority of American troops in Afghanistan do their duty with diligence, and honour their responsibility to the local population, their dedication has once again been nullified by a rogue element within the army.

American Soldiers in Afghanistan

A report out this week accuses soldiers of the 5th Stryker Combat Brigade of the 2nd Infantry Division of forming a ‘kill’ team dedicated to murdering innocent Afghan civilians for sport! This allegation, hard though it may be to swallow, appears true as an investigation is under way.

Many newspapers are now citing official sources, stating that the killings began last winter, and several Afghans were shot during the ensuing months for the pure amusement of the group.

Hashish

As if that was not enough, the soldiers in question have been accused of taking photographs of themselves with their victims, and even cutting off fingers as trophies. Along with these killers, more soldiers have been arrested for using hashish which is prevalent in Afghanistan.

It has been a hard enough struggle for the coalition forces to win over the minds of the Afghan people, and to date that aim is still a long way from achievement.

Taliban Execution

Without a doubt, the actions of these ‘Rednecks’ will have the reverse effect of driving the people closer to the Taliban, and causing an uproar of hatred among Muslims everywhere, thus undoing all that’s been achieved to date to get the Afghan people on the side of the occupation forces.

Abu Graib Torture - Is This Condoned in the Military?

The coalition partners, and in particular the USA, cannot afford such incidents as Abu Graib and this latest outrage. Every time such an event takes place it shows the inherent weaknesses present in the American Army. For when you think about it, the responsibility for these actions must lie within the command structure all the way down to platoon sergeant.

I have to ask why it is so difficult for sergeants and junior officers to control the men under their command? If discipline levels were as they should be, and with the proper oversight and control during actions against the Taliban this sort of thing should be impossible.

Under Pressure

I am well aware of the strain under which soldiers operate when in constant fear for their lives, but that does not excuse those individuals who go outside the law and rules of engagement to satisfy a sadistic streak in their personality.

Hearts and Minds?

If the coalition, and in particular the USA wants to win the ‘hearts and minds’ of the Afghan people and get them out of the clutches of the Taliban, then they have to earn that result!

Hearts and Minds Will Win the War

In my opinion, the whole concept of the war in both Iraq and Afghanistan have been handled very badly right from the start. Once sufficient military superiority had been achieved, full emphasis should have been placed on improving the infrastructure of the country by sending as many engineering divisions as possible to rebuild shattered homes, shops, factories and roads. Most important is always the essential items like a supply of fresh water and electricity to all communities.

It is only by giving the people what they need most that you will ever begin to win over hearts and minds.

The Final Solution

The next major hurdle, should these men be found guilty, will be how to punish them. If these atrocities had taken place in the United States it is a fair bet they would receive the death penalty in States that still have it. If however, the same mistake is made as with the perpetrators of the Abu Graib scandal, in that, in my opinion, they did not receive a ‘Just’ sentence, then the animosity among Muslims will explode, and probably not just figuratively.

The Dark Side of the US Army

A whitewash job on the sentencing of these men will fuel anti-american hatred to such an extent the war against the Taliban will never be won. The Abu Graib incident initiated a huge number of recruits for the Taliban and many other terrorist groups like al Queda. This scenario is likely to be repeated. What is more, all the deaths among coalition forces since this war began will be for nothing.

The Cost of Doing it Wrong!

America needs to show, not only the Muslim world but all nations, that it is capable of maintaining discipline within the ranks of its armed forces, and that such behaviour will not be tolerated. Examples must be made of the platoon sergeant, the platoon commander, the company commander, and the string of officers above them. I say this because it must be obvious to even an idiot that these people did not have the proper control over the men under their command to maintain and uphold the ideals of the American Army.

I would consider equal punishment for the members of any army that steps out of line, for those in the US army are by no means the only ones committing such acts against humanity. It is only sad that those serving the USA seem more prone to it.

It is already an uphill struggle to defeat the Muslim insurgency in whatever country, but to hand these people the pure gold of such propaganda is not only unwise, but also extremely foolish.

My wife and I watched a movie the other day that, to say the least, shocked us to the core. ‘The Stoning of Soraya M’ shed new light on the much disputed Sharia Law practised in most Muslim countries.

Soraya M Played by Mozhan Marno

In short, the story line consists of the husband, Ali’s, desire to divorce his wife Soraya because he wishes to marry a 14 year-old virgin. Soraya however would not consent to the divorce. Driven to desperation by his lust for the young girl he hatches a plot with the local cleric, who has a dark past known to Ali, to get rid of Soraya by charging her with adultery. After the wife of the village mechanic dies, Soraya is persuaded much against her will to clean and cook for the husband and his son by Ali and the cleric. Once the routine has been established Ali finds the excuse he needs to charge his wife with adultery.

With threats and coercion from him and the cleric the mechanic, a simple man, is forced to be the necessary third witness to the ‘crime’. Ali shouts his indignation to the entire village and tells everyone how his honour has been insulted. After this the end is predictable, and gruesome. Soraya’s aunt does everything she can to save her, but to no avail. It is not until after Soraya dies that the mechanic finally tells the truth, driven by remorse.

The film tells Soraya’s story with feeling, which cannot fail to arouse sadness at the injustice and barbarity of this young woman’s death at the hand of her unscrupulous husband.

The Journalist Played By James Caviezel

Shortly after the execution, a French-Iranian journalist comes to the village with car trouble and the aunt tells him the whole story. The Frenchman escapes the village, despite the cleric and Ali trying to stop him, and in this way the whole sordid story is released to the world.

The journalist, Freidoune Sahebjam wrote a best-seller based on this true story when he got back home which was published in 1994. In 2008 director Cyrus Nowrasteh produced the film with a Muslim cast which won many awards and nominations. Both the book and film were banned in Iran because of the negative vision it gave of Muslim justice.

I have had many interesting internet conversations with Muslims over this draconian approach to law enforcement and all defend it, many making excuses for the excessive harshness meted out by this system of justice. All criticism against it is dismissed as ‘western propaganda and lies’.

They told me for example, that the hand of a thief is not summarily cut off, but only as a last resort in cases where the thief stole for personal gain, not e.g. if he was hungry. I was politely informed that Muslim women are required to cover their body and faces by the Quran and associated religious texts so as not to tempt men, not because their husbands are insanely jealous of other men seeing them.

The Damning of the Innocent

They also told me that a woman is not stoned to death without there being the required number of witnesses to the adulterous act, which is true. The film however shows graphically how such a law can be twisted and manipulated by any Muslim male to get what he wants.

Stone in the Hand of a Killer

Under Sharia Law all stones have to be  certain size. Not too large as to cause death with a single hit, but large enough to be very painful when struck by one. Also, if the condemned can free themselves from the pit they go free. Not much chance of that with your hands bound and buried to the waist.

For anyone who wants to see the true face of Islam this film is a must, but I warn you, you will need a strong stomach to watch the scenes of the execution.

You can download the film using the following link at your own risk.

The whole saga is without doubt a sad indictment of Sharia Law and those who practice it.

Mosque Versus Listed Building (A lady tells it like it is)

A couple of weeks ago, Muslims in Camberley had their request to tear down a listed Victorian school and build a mosque, complete with dome and towers, refused by the council and people of the town.

The Victorian School

The school was used originally by the Yorktown infants and primary schools before becoming a Roman Catholic school, but was sold to the Bengali Welfare Association (BWA) when the school closed down and has been used as an Islamic Centre since 1996. Now the BWA are saying it no longer fulfils their needs and they wish to build a mosque on the site.

The plan, initially approved by the council, was later refused on a technicality. Now everyone is up in arms about the project because it means the listed building will be torn down. Local people feel their heritage is being lost with the destruction of the 100 year old building.

Nahrin Choudhury

Of course, the old ‘race’ card is now being played by the leader of the BWA Nahrin Choudhury who claims that objection to the plan is pure racism because they are a Muslim minority in the town! Where have I heard that before? If you can’t get what you want by fair means, use the race card!

Conservative Council Leader Moira Gibson said it was the people’s wish to preserve part of the history of Surrey Heath and  Camberley because people feel strongly about conservation in the area. In fact, the people feel so strongly they were queuing for hours outside the Camberley Theatre in order to gain admittance to the meeting.

Who can say, maybe this is one small step in ensuring the British countryside is not dotted with mosques, I for one hope so.

My brother sent me a copy of a letter an unnamed housewife sent to the local newspaper on the subject of Muslims etc. in general, which amply defines what our attitude should be towards those of the Muslim faith everywhere. I reproduce it here:

This is one ticked off lady.

Are we fighting a war on terror or aren’t we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our (western) shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from the nation’s capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn’t they?

And I’m supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from who are fighting against a brutal insurgency.

I’ll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I’ll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan

I’ll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg’s head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I’ll care when the cowardly so-called ‘insurgents’ in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.

I’ll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana, care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I’ll care when the British media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground, or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a British soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

I don’t care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank:

I don’t care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and ‘fed special food’ that is paid for by my tax is complaining that his holy book is being ‘mishandled,’ you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:

I don’t care.

And oh, by the way, I’ve noticed that sometimes it’s spelled ‘Koran’ and other times ‘Quran..’ Well, Believe me!! Yes … you guessed it,

I don’t care!!

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Soldiers don’t have that problem..’

I have another quote that I would like to add

Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ

2.  The British Soldier.

3. The Canadian Soldier.

4. The US Soldier, and

5. The Australian Soldier

One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom.’

GIVE THIS LADY A STANDING OVATION.
SHE HAS INDEED TICKED ALL THE BOXES!!

It just goes to show what some people are capable of when the chips are down. I think the lady said just about all that will ever be needed on the subject of living with Muslims and how far we should accommodate them.

My thanks to my brother, and the unnamed lady.

Death Penalty Outlawed – and Now Look At the Mess!

Killers Nightmare

As I read the comments of people writing about newspapers articles involving crime recently, it would seem there is an overwhelming desire among the general public to see hanging back in Britain. High profile crimes over the past decade or more, linked with the ever decreasing sentences, appear to have sparked the idea in people’s minds that the death sentence may be the only way to stop the spiralling serious crime rate.

Violent Crime

While 58 nations world-wide still have the death penalty, Britain abolished it in 1969, the last execution taking place in 1964. Human Rights activists labelled the death penalty as “cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment” while Amnesty International considers it to be “the ultimate denial of human rights”. To me, it seems these people do not have a thought in their collective heads for the victims of violent crime, and the savagery meted out by today’s young criminals. Maybe they consider the lives snuffed out by murder and torture to be insignificant. I doubt the relatives of the victims would agree.

There is little doubt in the opinion of many that although Labour has repeatedly promised to be “Tough on Crime” before every election, there has been nothing to show for these empty promises. The rate of serious crime has risen sharply year on year, despite what the official ‘massaged’ figures from government show.

Just Two Years Old

Every day sees a new horror story in the Press of someone who has been brutally murdered, more often than not by children as young as nine. We have only to remember John Venebles and Robert Thompson who led away, tortured, and then savagely murdered little 2 year-old James Bulger. Another case in point is the terrifying ordeal of two youngsters in Edlington who were sadistically tortured and left for dead by two brothers aged ten and eleven.

But it is not only children that form a major threat to law-abiding citizens, there are also career criminals like Waleed Salem who got off scot-free from a charge of aggravated burglary on the home of Munir Hussain. He had 50 previous convictions but had only ever spent a total of 42 days in jail for all of them. In most cases all he got was a community service sentence. After his run in with Munier Hussain he openly boasted outside the court that the law couldn’t touch him, and the sad thing is, he turned out to be right.

Overcrowding?

Because of the overcrowding in prisons, many often violent criminals are released early after serving only a small fraction of their sentence. In a large number of cases, these people go on to re-offend within weeks of release, and sometimes it involves murder. Once again the case of Venebles and Thompson comes to mind with them being released and given new identities after serving only five years for their horrendous crime. As we all now know, Venebles is back ‘inside’.

The ‘Barmy Brigade’ felt they should be released early “because they were only children” and “came from dysfunctional homes”, as if that excused their vicious crime! It is an inexcusable fact that in lower class homes in particular, although not exclusively, parents today have little or no control over their offspring. In fact, I would dare say there is little interest in bringing up children correctly. Judicial punishment for dysfunctional parents is long overdue in my opinion.

Many parents today seem to think it is the schools responsibility to give their children the necessary lessons in good behaviour, so without the required guidance, is it any wonder we have a generation of tearaways and thugs!

Home From Home

With ever shorter sentences and prisons like 5 star hotels, we are in a period where the average criminal has absolutely no fear of Justice? More often than not, even vicious felons get Community Service for a few weeks and are left in the public domain to continue their nefarious trade. It has been proven time and again that this system does not work because the criminal just ignores the whole thing, and usually no-one can be bothered to check up on them, and they know it. So really it is nothing but a gigantic farce.

All this is put in place because the prisons are full, but are we building new prisons? No! Plans have come and gone, but none have been built. You cannot possibly turn hardened criminals from their chosen way of life unless the punishment is so severe they will not dare re-offend. At the moment its quite the reverse in fact.

The “Do Gooders’ and ‘limp-wristed’ Liberals are so set on making prison life as easy as possible with the intention of “giving the criminal a sense of morality and easing them back into society”. Its pretty obvious they have never been attacked or robbed! Prisoners are released on licence for days at a time during their sentence to allow them to ‘get used to being around people again’. There have been cases where criminals have ‘settled old scores’ on such breaks, meaning someone got killed.

The first job of any new government is to get these ‘Goody Goody’ idiots back out on the street where they can do no more harm, and put an end to all this pussy footing around.

There is a good case for bringing back the death penalty in whatever form, for only then will it be driven home to these lowlifes that the public will not stand for it any more. Kill and you will be killed.

There are of course many who stop short of actual murder but commit vicious crimes nevertheless. For these there should be a regime of hard labour awaiting them once convicted. It is time to end the period of criminals lounging around watching TV, using their computers or playing pool. It is time to stop taking young killers out for a day to Manchester or Blackpool, or to the cinema. It is time for more serious sentencing, because I see little point in a Judge sentencing a killer to 20 years with ‘a minimum of eight to be served’. If you give someone 20 years it should BE 20 years end of story, but Oh Damn! We can’t do that because the prisons are full and Amnesty Int. says every prisoner is entitled to his own cell with all the comforts of home! Atishooo! Sorry I’m allergic to bullshit!

Unless we bring back the death sentence for murder, torture and terrorism, start making prison a thing to be feared, and hand down sentences that fit the crime, we as a society are lost, for the crime rate will continue to spiral out of all control. After all, Britain has certainly the highest crime rate in Europe, and is probably only second in the world to the USA. Crime has not escalated to epidemic proportions in most other countries because they are not run by sleazy governments that are soft on crime, and have not handed responsibility for the running of prisons over to idiots. It is way past time that we returned to the strict regime of the 1940’s and 50’s.

Bringing back the death penalty will not only make killers think twice before committing murder, but it should also help to solve the prison overcrowding problem. Mind you, we may end up with a cemetery overcrowding problem then.

Ah Well! I guess you can’t have everything!

Roy.
