Religion Is Dying In Britain

Posted in America, Britain, Christianity, England, Justice, News, Parenting, Prison, Teen Violence, Theft with tags , , , , on 24/05/2016 by floroy1942

ChurchIt seems that Britain is to become a non-religious country in a few short decades. A report out today indicates that the number of people who consider themselves to have no religion is increasing at a steady rate.

In 2014 a survey showed that 48.5% claimed they had no religion compared to 43.8% who said they had. The 43.8% included Anglicans, Catholics and other denominations. So it would seem that religion is dying in the U.K.

Mind you, I am not surprised considering the state of today’s middle-aged people and in particular the youth. In general, few people in the country today think of anything but ‘self’, which is sad. Yes I know there are those who care for others, but today they are becoming a minority.

Life-long friends like we had when I was young are a thing of the past, for today friends come and go like the wind.

Yet Another Murder - How Many This Month?

Yet Another Murder – How Many This Month?

Never in the history of our country has there been such brutality among the people, and I say this because of the number of brutal murders, rape and robberies that happen today. Hell’s bells, you can’t even have a slight accident today without the driver of the car you touched getting out and beating you up. Just think about it and you will know I am right, at least the old people will.

At one time the greatest majority of people were held in check by their religion and would not think of committing robberies or murder, but today they think nothing of it. “Oh what do I care. I will only get a couple of years in prison if I am caught.”

When they kill an old-age pensioner for a few pounds they have no remorse at all, or when they seriously injure someone in a street brawl on a Saturday night.

When all today’s old-age pensioners are dead, religion will die in Britain along with them. We will see all our churches closed down and more than likely turned into mosques. Now there’s a thought! All our church clergy and bishops will be lining up at the dole office for their weekly handout.

You might be forgiven for thinking that religion has no place in today’s world, but you would be wrong. Religion has for centuries given people a set of standards to live by, being kind to others, helping others, and caring about those who are less fortunate than themselves. I am not saying that everyone lived by these rules, but the greater majority did.

Prison Today - Like A Holiday

Prison Today – Like A Holiday

When I was young there were very few murders in the country and the killers were hung for their crimes. Now-a-days they get off with a few short years in a prison that is like a holiday camp with all the mod-cons. I much preferred the old system that put the fear of God into any would-be killer.

It is a sad situation, but is something we have to accept for the future.

Where Did We Go Wrong?

Posted in Britain, Child Discipline, England, English Schools, Immigration, Justice, News, Parenting, Prison, Teen Violence with tags , , , , on 29/10/2015 by floroy1942

Having survived 72 years on this planet I have to ask where we went wrong in the past to bring the country to the state it’s in now. I scan the news daily, and never a day goes by where I don’t read that someone somewhere has been murdered, robbed or raped, and I fail to see what has happened to the British people.

Today I read that a schoolboy had been stabbed to death by another pupil at a school in Scotland, and almost every day is the same. Pupils even stab teachers in school because for some reason they get angry.

Old people robbed while they lay desperately hurt after being struck by a hit-and-run driver. No attempt made to help them, just take their money and leave them on the street. Very often, youngsters break into an old person’s house, knife them and steal their money and valuables because they are an easy target.

Saturday Night Brawl

Saturday Night Brawl

Go into town on a saturday night and you will be lucky in many places if you don’t see young girls lying comatose on the pavement after a night of drugs and heavy drinking, and you will more than likely see a bunch of drunken youths fighting viciously outside a disco or club. More often than not they are also high on drugs.

Road rage is another symptom of modern times in that people do stupid things on the road and the offended driver gets out of his car in a vicious rage and attacks the other driver physically. It happens all across the country and it never seems to end. Why?

What has got into people these days that makes them so aggressive at what they consider the slightest of insults. Pretty soon you won’t even dare to say “Good morning” to anyone for fear they may take it the wrong way and attack you.

I know this is not a general situation for everybody, but the number of Press reports of murder and assault have gone through the roof these last ten years and there has to be a reason for it.

There are I think three reasons for the current wave of violence on our streets, one is the parents, another is the complete farce that our system of justice  has become, and finally, the breakdown of our education system.

Is This The Correct Way To Bring Up A Child?

Is This The Correct Way To Bring Up A Child?

Firstly it is a total failure of the last generation of parents to teach their offspring respect, honesty and integrity. Most are happy to have their children ‘out from under their feet’ and don’t give a damn about how they behave or what they do while away from home. All too often the child says, “I want….” and before you know it they are given it. No effort has been made to teach children the three basic values, and now we have to live with the consequences.

When I look back at my own childhood I remember getting a clip around the ear for some minor infraction, or my dad’s slipper across my backside or the cane at school for something more serious. It made me realize in time that there are rules to the way you live and I was made to abide by them. The three basic values were instilled in me and I have lived by them to this day.

All that disappeared years ago, and partly because of the ‘Goody Goody Brigade’ who convinced certain important people that to discipline a child had to be done by purely talking to them. You were not allowed to hit a child for any reason. Where did these people came from?

Parents quickly began to live by these rules, and soon children lost the one thing that allowed them to learn how they should behave and live their lives, i.e. discipline. Many of today’s youth, especially in the poorer parts of town, are nothing more than thugs going around in gangs, some no more than ten years old. They do as they please, attack innocent people just for fun, rob shops for the thrill, and the sad thing is they get away with it. Even if they are caught by the Police they are more often than not let off with a caution not to do it again, which they naturally ignore.

Ricky Preddie On His Release After Serving Just 4 Years For Killing Damilola Taylor

Our modern justice system also has a lot to answer for because they no longer give meaningful sentences to those who break the law, and this is proven by killers getting light sentences and not even having to serve their full term. Gone are the days when you were locked up for twenty or thirty years for killing someone, now they get sentenced to ten years but are out in three. It’s no wonder the system has failed in preventing such crimes.

Furthermore, our education system has failed an entire generation of young people, many of whom are leaving school without the ability to read or write properly, and as for adding two and two – forget it.

What is even more frightening is that Muslim immigrants have so much power in the country that they are slowly destroying what is left of our education system with their demands for classes in arabic because they have not taken the trouble to integrate and learn the language of their adopted country.

Muslim Family With 12 Children

Muslim Family With 12 Children

Today I read that the population of Britain will increase from its current 62.5 million to over 74 million within the next 12 years. And why? Two reasons, mainly the massive immigration into our country that is still going on, and to a very much smaller extent, the increased life expectancy of our old folks.

As many know by now, most British families restrict themselves to two children, but at the same time, Muslim families will have five, six or even more children. In a few years this will make them a very large portion of the population, and you can imagine what will happen then.

I am just glad I will not be around to see it!

The UN Human Rights Committee Should Mind It’s Own Bloody Business

Posted in America, Britain, Child Abuse, Child Discipline, European Union, News, Parenting, Teen alcohol abuse, Teen Violence, Teens with tags , , , , on 25/07/2015 by floroy1942

I was angered yesterday when I read that the U.N. HRC is telling the British Government to ban all smacking of children as a form of discipline. The commission was ‘surprised’ to hear that corporal punishment had not already been banned in the country.

UNHRCThe report says,”The state party should take practical steps, including through legislative measures where appropriate, to put an end to corporal punishment in all settings, including the home, throughout (the) United Kingdom. It should encourage non-violent forms of discipline as alternatives to corporal punishment, and conduct public information campaigns to raise awareness about its harmful effects.”

Are these people living on the same planet as the rest of us? I would like to know what forms of ‘none violent’ punishments they think will work with todays British children.

So UNHRC! How Do You Handle This Little Devil?

So UNHRC! How Do You Handle This Little Devil?

In Britain these days if you tell a child not to do something they take no notice, or in many cases tell you to ‘F’ off! So what are you supposed to do in such a situation? Tie them to a chair and lecture them on good manners and doing as they are told? Don’t make me laugh! I rather think that many of the idiots who come out with this garbage don’t have any children themselves, or if they do, they are brought up by a Nanny because the parents are too busy pontificating to do it themselves.

It is a totally different scenario from when I was a child in the forties. Children in general were well-behaved, they were respectful, honest and did as they were told by their parents because they knew that if they didn’t they would get a smack. Very few got into trouble with the law, and if they did it was for silly things that kids do as a prank.

It is a sad fact that we currently have a ‘lost’ generation of teens and young people who really do not know where they fit in in society because they have not been brought up correctly. Very often, if you want to know where your child is today, go to their room and you will find them in front of the computer or on their smart phone trading nonsense with others on Facebook or the like.

Kids Playing In The 1950's

Kids Playing In The 1950’s

What happened to the days when young kids went out to play with others instead of just lounging around?

These days, everywhere you look you will see youth on their phone, walking down the street or at a table in a cafe. But, take away this essential apparatus and they wander like mindless sheep not knowing where to go or what to do. In our local shopping centre I have lost count of the number of people who have almost walked straight into me because their whole concentration was on texting someone on the phone.

 On The Booze Already?

Nine Or Ten Years Old On The Booze Already?

Today many of the teens and youngsters are totally out of control, depending on drugs and/or alcohol for enjoyment. Some are extremely violent, fight on the streets, steal anything they can, and kill without remorse, so you try chastising them with words!

The British crime rate for those under thirty is the highest anywhere in Europe, and this includes rape, robbery and murder! Never in the history of this country has there been so many brutal killings, murders and rapes every year, a few carried out by young children, and many by teenagers.

In One Ear And Out The Other

In One Ear And Out The Other

So why do you think this is? Could it be that we have not sat our children down often enough and given them a good talking to on discipline as the UNHRC suggests, or could it be that children have quickly become aware that we can do next to nothing against them if they do wrong because of the anti-smacking laws. You work it out!

You cannot get away from the fact that if you wish to have a well-behaved child who turns into a responsible and hard-working adult you need discipline at a very early age. You can tell a child a hundred times and they will take no notice, but one small slap on the behind or back of the leg and they get the idea immediately. This system has worked for centuries, but now suddenly its a No! No!

I freely admit that in the past there have been parents who have gone over the limit with chastisement and have been excessively cruel to their children, but that is not a good enough reason to ban it altogether. Every day there are car accidents – should we therefore ban all cars??? No of course not, common sense has to prevail. Wherever there are cases of child abuse go after the perpetrators but don’t ban all forms of discipline!

On The Times I had It At School, It Stung For A Short Time But NEVER Did Me Any Harm.

On The Times I Had It At School, It Stung For A Short Time But NEVER Did Me Any Harm.

During my childhood I had the cane from the Headmaster a couple of times, and my step-dad gave me the slipper across the backside a good few times for misdemeanors. It did me no harm, but taught me never to do it again.

Later in life when I brought up my own son and daughter I used proper discipline from very early on. In the beginning I found with my daughter for example that a very light slap on her leg and a stern look was enough to warn her not to do something. By the time she was three I never had the need to touch her. If I told her not to do something she didn’t because she knew I meant what I said. My son took a little longer, (boy’s will be boy’s) but with a few light slaps to the legs he did as he was told.

I am happy to say they both grew up to be exemplary adults, and never got into trouble or did drugs or alcohol.

My wife and I started with them very young and they quickly learned to do as they were told without fuss, and most importantly, without resorting to any violence. It is essential to start as soon as they are able to understand, but keep the punishments very mild. They will learn very quickly and then a warning look is all that is needed.

Heed The Message

Heed The Message

This business of sitting your child down in front of you and having a conversation with them about what they have done wrong is pure rubbish. There is only one system that makes the necessary impression on a child’s mind and that is a slap on the leg or behind. When they actually feel it the message goes home. Anything else is a waste of time.

I am however deeply against those who go too far with children. I believe that those who go beyond a mild slap should be punished to the full extent of the law. There is no excuse to brutalize children for whatever reason.

These namby pamby do-gooders need to know the value of proper discipline with children to ensure they grow up to be worthwhile members of society, and not clogging up our prison system.

Lethal Injection Or Firing Squad

Posted in America, Britain, Child Abuse, England, European Union, Human Rights, Justice, News, Politics, Teen Violence with tags , , , , on 11/03/2015 by floroy1942

An argument is currently raging over a Utah State vote to allow firing squad executions to replace lethal injections for criminals sentenced to death. It would seem that the lethal drugs used in American States are bought from European companies who are refusing to supply them because of European public pressure against the death penalty.

More Executions - Less Murders

More Executions – Less Murders

This I find intolerable. I do not believe any European company has the right to refuse orders on the grounds stated, but of course they are frightened for their profits if sales fall because of public indignation.

On top of this there have been two ‘botched’ executions that received a lot of attention in the press, and of course the Human Rights groups jumped on the bandwagon with gusto.

George W Bush

George W Bush

This has not yet become law in Utah for the State governor Gary Herbert is yet to sign it, but critics of this system have said that such a move would damage Utah’s reputation internationally but I fail to see this. There will most certainly be some righteous indignation in the beginning, but people will get used to it and justice will be done. The director of ‘Utahns for Alternatives to the Death Penalty’ Ralph Dellapiana said, “I think Utah took a giant step backward,”

I have always supported the death sentence as a just punishment for certain crimes, for I believe its abolition has led to the rampant murder rate we have experienced over the last forty years.

UK Prison Cell - A Home From Home

UK Prison Cell – A Home From Home

In Britain at least, the fact that a killer can be back on the streets after a few short years behind bars just does not register with the abolitionists, for they still consider this a just sentence.

It is clear that those who oppose the death penalty have never suffered as the victims of these killers have, for if they had they would perhaps not be so righteous. If their child had suffered multiple rape and torture at the hands of some sadist they would rapidly change their minds. It just goes to show how  hypocritical people can be today.

This whole farce of execution by humane methods has gotten totally out of hand because we have to ensure that the convict does not suffer in any way as he/she is put to death, but scant thought is given to the suffering of their victims. We have become so sympathetic to these people that it has become ridiculous.

Your Child?

Your Child?

Some killers have put their victims through excruciating pain, sometimes for hours or even days on end, and yet we must be humane when we put them to death for their crimes. I do not advocate unnecessary suffering for these people, but we should not have so much sympathy for them.

Firing Squad

Firing Squad

Another point that comes to mind is that the cost of four bullets is far less than an expensive execution chamber and special drugs, so why do we do it? A bullet is also quicker because being hit by four of them means death is instantaneous with no suffering at all. This is too good for some of the maniacs out there!

It does surprise me that so many convicts in America can be in prison for ten years or longer before the sentence is carried out. In my view, when someone is sentenced to death for a crime there should be a set period of perhaps a year or eighteen months for further evidence and appeals, but after that the sentence should be carried out. To keep these people on ‘death row’ for such a long period is both wasteful and counter-productive.

Barack Obama's View

Barack Obama’s View

There can be little doubt that the justice system in many western countries needs a big shake-up, for the ‘Do-Gooders’, ‘Politically Correct’ idiots and the self righteous groups like Amnesty International  have made a complete mess of the whole system. These days you can torture to death a hundred victims and still only get a prison sentence that will often not mean life in prison.

The prisons have become more like holiday camps these days where prisoners have been given all the comforts of home and time to enjoy them. The only thing they miss is their freedom of movement. This to me is not paying penance for a heinous crime!

I am sure this post will ruffle the feathers of many, but thank goodness we still have free speech and I can air my views. Er! I won’t be executed for this will I?

One Up For France

Posted in Britain, Child Abuse, Child Discipline, European Union, News, Parenting, Police, Teen alcohol abuse, Teen Violence, Teens with tags , , , , on 08/03/2015 by floroy1942

It would seem that France is not bowing to pressure from the rest of Europe on an important issue. It concerns a law that was accepted by the rest of Europe but not by the French, and for that I applaud them, for they at least are showing common sense.

images (1)You may be wondering what I am on about so I’ll tell you. This post concerns France’s refusal to enforce the ‘no-smacking’ rule for children that has cascaded across the world ever since Sweden first banned it in 1979. It is now forbidden to use ‘corporal punishment’ (i.e. smack a child) in 44 countries across the world, but to date France refuses to back it. I think they have the right attitude.

I still remember the old saying: “A smack in time stops a crime” and its as true today as it ever was. During their formative years children must learn right from wrong, but few do these days. If they do not, we end up with a mess like we have today, where teenagers and young adults are the cause of a good proportion of the crime in society today, run wild whenever they feel like it, drink excessively and take to drugs.

The Statistics Tell It All

The Statistics Tell It All

It is essential to teach from a very early age what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. If you begin early enough just a light tap on the hand or buttocks is enough to teach them right from wrong. Naturally, I do not advocate ‘beating’ a child for that is over the line.

With my own children I used the prescribed method from the time they learned to walk, and a light slap on the buttocks was necessary only two or three times and they learned quickly. When my wife or I said they should not do something they stopped immediately. In later years they both conformed to the norms of teenage and adult behaviour without a problem. I am happy to say they both turned out to be exemplary adults who never turned to drink or took drugs.

People's Opinion

People’s Opinion

In contrast to this, a brother of my wife used the ‘no-smacking’ rule and his boy was such a nuisance that the family told him to leave the boy at home when he came to visit. He used the old and tried method on his second son and he was as good as gold.

When I look at the world today, I see Britain’s youth in particular, running wild on the streets especially at weekends when they all go out drinking to excess. There are fights in Disco’s and on the streets and the Police are constantly trying to stop them. We have children as young as nine or ten committing murders and many of today’s’ teenagers hang around on street corners in gangs looking for likely victims and even robbing convenience stores on the High Street. Teenage crime has gone through the roof since I was a child, in fact crime in general has escalated to levels unheard of in my time.

GoodI blame the ‘Anti-Smacking’ Laws that have all but made it impossible to teach a child discipline, honesty and respect when they need it most. This fact is most noticeable these days in the general attitude of many who think of themselves first before considering the needs of others.

It is true that in the old days some parents overstepped the limit when it came to child chastisement and were excessively brutal, but in general these were few and far between in my experience and certainly did not warrant a blanket law for everyone, but it happened and now we are stuck with the consequences.

So all things considered, I applaud the stance taken by France where normal child chastisement is allowed. I hope they continue with it and not bow to outside pressure from the E.U.

Back Off Australia!

Australian Prime Minister

Australian Prime Minister

I find it amazing that Australia is going to great lengths to try and save the lives of two criminals who have been convicted and sentenced to death for drug trafficking in Bali, Indonesia.

This all came about when 11 people were arrested for smuggling heroin, among whom were citizens of Australia, Brazil and France. Upon them receiving the death sentence the governments of these three countries began lobbying Bali, where the offences took place, to suspend the death sentence for these criminals.

Myuran Sukumaran (L) and Andrew Chan

Myuran Sukumaran (L) and Andrew Chan

The death sentence was stopped in Indonesia in 2009 but was reintroduced in 2013, for the country takes a hard stance on drug trafficking. In January this year six traffickers were executed by firing squad, five of which were foreigners.

The governments of both Brazil and France are now protesting the forthcoming execution of their citizens but these have been rejected by the country’s President, Joko Widodo, who insists that foreign countries have no say in Indonesian justice. And he is right too!

While France has not made any threats to Indonesia, the Brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff,  refused to accept the credentials of a new Indonesian Ambassador to Brazil in an effort to exert pressure on the Indonesian government. The general consensus of opinion seems to be that both Australia and Brazil believe that the Indonesian government will cave in to pressure. I hope they don’t.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo

Indonesian President Joko Widodo

What I found disgraceful was the Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot, who reminded President Widodo publicly that Australia had donated $0.78 billion to Indonesia following the fateful Tsunami in 2004, and the Australian citizens should therefore not be executed. Abbot has been severely criticized in Australia and world-wide for the comment because it sounds like blackmail.

In my view, no foreign country has the right to interfere in the judicial system of another country, provided it is just and humane, no matter what the charge or sentence. These people knew that the death sentence was an option in Indonesia but went ahead anyway. The fact that they were caught in 2005, ironically enough on a tip from the Australian police, had a fair trial and were sentenced to death has nothing whatsoever to do with the Australian government or its people. The crime was committed in Indonesia, and therefore the perpetrators were subject to the law of that nation.

Drug Overdose Death

Drug Overdose Death

I would like to know what Abbot’s reaction would have been if the drugs were successfully smuggled into Australia, and as a result, say, ten people had died of a drug overdose? I’ll bet he would not have even blinked an eye, or rather he may well have criticised Indonesia for not stopping it! Would he, and Roussef have made such a fuss if these criminals had been convicted of genocide, rape or murder? I doubt it.

The fact that they are ‘only’ drug smugglers seems to make a difference and I fail to see why. Drugs cause no end of deaths, misery and crime across the whole world, but in these people’s eyes that seems forgivable. Rubbish!

I strongly believe that many countries, in particular the western world, have become soft on crime on a massive scale. In most countries the death sentence has been outlawed and that is one reason why we have to accept rampant crime as part of our daily lives. Genocidal killers, murderers and serial rapists have nothing to fear any more, because they know they will only get a few years behind bars when caught and this is no deterrent at all.

Firearms Offences In The UK

Firearms Offences In The UK

UK Prisons - An Easy Life

UK Prisons – An Easy Life

Crime rates for murder etc. have climbed steadily across much of Europe since the abolition of the death penalty and governments have no-one to blame but themselves. Fifty or sixty years ago murder for example was very rare, because the culprits knew that when caught they would be hung. But now, teenagers and even children as young as nine are getting away with it and the statistics have gone through the roof. It is a proven fact that when the punishment no longer fits the crime the numbers escalate.

Global Violent Crime

Global Violent Crime

The really ironic thing is that when killers are caught and receive a prison sentence, the government has to house and feed them which costs exorbitant amounts of money every year. To me, this money could far better be spent on educating people not to commit crime, and better their lives so they do not need to enter into a life of crime.

Prison Costs

Prison Costs

We are constantly told that the prisons are full to capacity, so if the death penalty were reintroduced that would free up many places and it would give criminals something to fear. It is certain that if someone is contemplating committing murder they will think twice if they know that the hangman’s rope is waiting for them when they get caught.

Who knows how this saga will end. It could be a triumph for justice or the Indonesian justice system will cave in to the pressure, but I have a feeling that justice will be served in the end. I hope so.

Ferguson Aftermath

Posted in America, England, Equality, Justice, News, Police Complaints, Relationships, Teen Violence, Theft, USA with tags , , , on 06/01/2015 by floroy1942

Finally the fury following the police shooting of an unarmed black thief in Ferguson and the following deaths of unarmed blacks in Utah and New York have died down, and life is for the most part returning to normal. But since those events some interesting facts have come to light.

Some NYPD Officers Turn Their Back As The Mayor Speaks.

Some NYPD Officers Turn Their Back As The Mayor Speaks.

Chief among them was the ‘revenge’ killing of two New York police officers as they sat in their car. During one of the funerals last weekend it was notable that many of the police officers turned their back on the Mayor as he was giving his address to the gathered mourners.

Black Gang

Black Gang

This entire episode of the last five months has brought to the surface the deep antagonism between the black population of America and its white citizens. For their part the black population, especially in the more deprived areas, seem to be of the opinion that life owes them something, and this also true of the Hispanic populations as well.

For these people the idea of getting a good education and a job are foreign because they think there are easier ways of making a living, and that usually involves crime. Just take a look at the following:

2010 American Crime Statistics

2010/12 American Crime Statistics

When you read the above statistics it sheds light on one of the reasons why there is so much distrust of blacks in America, because they account for by far the largest proportion of crime, be it drugs, rape, robbery or murder.

They Did It - Why Can't You!

They Did It – Why Can’t You!

What these people need to learn is that if you want to make something of your life you have to work at it, i.e. integrate, get an education and then a job. Always try to get higher up the ladder by improving, rather than sit on your heels and expect someone to give you everything you need. The important thing to remember is that you have to do it yourself, for there are no ‘free rides’ in today’s society.

To a great extent a lot of the blame must fall on the parents, because they are the guiding light for any child growing up. If they have the will to push their children to make something of themselves despite their own failures, we would see more integration between the different communities in America. The following picture tells a lot about the attitude of parents to their children and crime:

A Black Parents View Of Black Crime

A Black Parents View Of Black Crime

From the looks of the placard held by this father, robbing a store is part of everyday life and I guess for some that’s true. It is a police officers sworn duty to uphold the law, so what do these people think he should do when a black teenager runs out of a shop with a gun in his hand after robbing the place? The teenager is certainly not going to put his gun down and allow the police officer to arrest him. So the inevitable happens.

Corner Stone Of A Strong Country

Intergration – Corner Stone Of A Strong Country

If the black population decided together to leave the ghetto’s and fully integrate with the white population who knows what could be achieved. It is certain that to begin with the road would be difficult for their will still be the basic distrust among the white citizens for the black man, but by hard work and advancement this could eventually be overcome.

If the black population really want to integrate there is no real reason why America should not have a true black or Hispanic President at sometime in the future, if that person has made the effort to improve him/herself sufficiently.

All Americans need to understand that to move forward together, they have to work together, for it is only in this way that the country can fully prosper.

Race hatred is a bad thing, but like it or not, we all share the same planet and must learn to live with one another.

Racist Crap Going Too Far In America!

A Beautiful Christmas Song Not A Symbol Of Racism

A Beautiful Christmas Song Not A Symbol Of Racism

Some of this current racism going around in America is such a load of bullshit it makes me angry. Now the poor ‘downtrodden’ blacks in the States are criticising the fact that the age-old Christmas song ‘White Christmas’ sung at the lighting up ceremony of the New York Christmas tree is racist!!!

Darius Rucker, the former Hootie and the Blowfish singer, sang the song when the famous Rockefeller Centre tree was lit up during the annual event. Immediately this was seized upon by low-lifes as being a racist song.

Says It All

Says It All

So what do these idiots think Marius should have sung: I’m dreaming of a Black Christmas? I don’t know about you, but I have never seen a black Christmas and especially black snow! When I read of such things it makes me glad I am not an American because this is so petty as to defy all forms of logic.

This song was written by Irving Berlin in 1940 and has been a major hit across the world since then. The Bing Crosby release is perhaps the best-selling single of all time with over 50 million sales, and is still widely played at this festive time of year .

I am well aware that many black people in America have legitimate concerns about how they are treated by the police, what with the shooting of unarmed black people recently in the news, but come on, this is way out of line! Its just a traditional song for crying out loud.

We have reached a stage of ‘political correctness’ where the word ‘nigger’, yes I said Nigger, cannot be used by white people in case we offend some black person, but the funny thing is, black people use it all the time among themselves, but if a white person uses it he’s racist!

So far as the recent incidents with the police are concerned, It is very obvious that the news bites did not show the run-up to the shootings. I refer in particular to the ‘choke-hold’ death of  Eric Garner, who was a very large man, pushing away a police officer before he was grabbed. After all, it took four of them to bring him down. In such a situation a little cooperation will go a long way, like just answering the questions put to you without a show of resistance.

Yeh! Yeh! Of Course He Was Innocent Just Because He Was Black!

Yeh! Yeh! Of Course He Was Innocent Just Because He Was Black!

Self Explanatory

Self Explanatory

The big problem from my perspective is that the black and hispanic people in America feel they are persecuted by all, but do not have the capability to look inward and ask themselves could they become better citizens. When you see black and/or hispanic communities on the TV or in films they are often hanging around on street corners in gangs, are deeply involved in drugs, and committing other crimes. This of course is not indicative of all black or hispanic people in America and I have no intention of indicating that it is.

Rightly or wrongly, part of this scene is they appear to make little or no effort in school to try and get a proper education and make something of themselves, and so consequently are doomed to a life of crime.

It does not matter if you are black or white, if you learn properly in school, pass your exams and get into higher education, you will have a better life than hanging around on street corners looking for a chance rob someone or sell drugs. This is far better than constantly whining about how hard done by you are.

Open Society

Britain’s Open Society

When the Caribbean people first came to Britain in the sixties there was to begin with some resentment from the British people, but they very quickly assimilated into our society and have for decades been respected as equals. Certainly a lesson for the black population of America.

I am well aware that this post may be controversial but I think someone has to say it and it might as well be me because the ‘persecution complex’ used by so many black and hispanic people in America today is getting very tedious.

Black Gang

Black Gang

Just like the white man, it is up to each and every coloured person to stop whining about how hard done by they are and assimilate into the American culture, and to make something of their lives by paying proper attention when in school for example, instead of staring out the window or going to sleep in class.

Very many black people have gone down in American history as great examples to the modern generation so it is time to get off the ‘persecution train’ and make something of yourself. It may be hard in the beginning but it is the only way forward. And please do not associate White Christmas with racial hatred, after all its only a traditional Christmas song.

Yet Another Child Murderer Arrested

Posted in Britain, Child Discipline, Children, England, English Schools, Justice, News, Parenting, Political Correctness, Teen Violence with tags , , , , on 04/05/2014 by floroy1942

It would seem the cycle of violence on the streets of Britain has no end. Just a week after Ann Mcguire was stabbed to death in front of her class by a fifteen year-old pupil, now a thirteen year-old has been arrested for the murder of Martin Thomas in his home in South West London.

The Face Of Britain Today?

The Face Of Britain Today?

Child and youth crime, particularly murder, has become an epidemic that no-one seems capable of stopping. Not the government, the police, schools or parents, so where is it all going to end?

The one thing that angers me, is that no-one is willing to step forward and admit that changes made to British Law many years ago, which have allowed children to do as they please without fear of proper punishment, are to blame.

I do not hear any of the ‘Goody-Goody’ PC brigade stepping forward to announce that their anti-smacking policies were wrong, and admit that children need proper discipline during their formative years. It seems the public do not agree with these idiots.

Smacking Poll Results 2010 - 2013

Smacking Poll Results 2010 – 2013

Oh No! All we hear from them is a deathly silence, because they cannot accept the fact that they were wrong in banning physical punishment in homes and schools for recalcitrant children.  When murder cases such as these come up, which they do all too often, the PC brigade can be found hiding under the nearest table.

Well Known Child Killers

Well Known Child Killers

Since that time children have come to know, as children do, that they can do more or less what they choose and no-one can touch them. Since the reforms were pushed through we have killers as young as nine and ten going through the judicial system for murder, some of which were most foul.

Weapons Collected In UK Schools

Weapons Collected In UK Schools

Many children now take weapons to school, knives, axes, and even guns have been found in the possession of children as young as eight years-old. Gangs of hooded youth hang around on our street corners sometimes brandishing their knives etc at passersby, and the general public are supposed to feel safe?

We, the voting public, are constantly told by our political leaders that they will be ‘Tough on Crime’, and just before election time they say that crime figures are going down. Well tell that to Ann McGuire and Martin Thomas!

Murdered His Mother

Murdered His Mother

We have over that last twenty years or so bred a generation of animals who think they can take whatever they want, do whatever they want, and behave in any way they want. And who is to stop them, the politicians, the police, their parents?

The judicial system in the UK has become a farce because of PC Brigade interference, telling us we must put curtains on the windows of cells to hide the bars because we might ‘traumatize‘ the inmates etc. etc! Prisons are like five-star hotels and sentencing has become a huge joke. So even when these little rats are caught they have no fear.

PC Brigade At It Again.

PC Brigade At It Again.

I for one would love to see these ‘high and mighty’ PC Brigade members on the receiving end of youth brutality today. I would like to see them robbed at knife-point, or see a few of them threatened in their own home by a gun or knife wielding young thug. I wonder if then they may finally realize that all the measures they forced on us so long ago ‘just ain’t working‘!

Part of the problem today is that because of all these anti-smacking rules etc., many parents have just given up on disciplining their children. No more do you hear parents laying down the law like telling a ten or twelve year-old: “I want you home by seven-thirty and not a minute later”. Travel the streets of many towns and cities and you see young kids on street corners up to eleven or twelve o’clock at night. The parents of many children just don’t bother about what their children get up to or where they are. It’s more like ‘out of sight, out of mind’.

Child Crime By Location

Child Crime By Location

When the anti-smacking laws came in many parents just gave up on disciplining their children because they knew that if ‘little Johnny’ ran to the police station and complained that their mother or father had hit him, the parents could find themselves in a cell.

It has all gone way too far for me, and as each generation gets older and have children of their own, I can see complete anarchy in the streets of Britain.

May your bullet-proof vest never be penetrated!

Does Your Child Take A Knife To School?

Posted in Britain, Child Discipline, Children, England, English Schools, News, Parenting, Primary Schools, Teen Violence, UK with tags , , , , on 29/04/2014 by floroy1942

It seems inconceivable that the British culture can so stoop to the levels where violence rules and our children are arming themselves to go to school. The number of knife and other crimes is rising steadily in the nations schools with children as young as eight being caught with an offensive weapon. A survey discovered that as many as 1000 children have been found  with weapons at school in the last three years.

Ready For School

Ready For School

These range from handguns, to air pistols, meat cleavers, axes, knives and even cutthroat razors. One child even had a taser, and you have to ask where did they get that from? From reports, many parents are complaining that schools do not do enough to stop the flow of weapons in the schools, but in my view, why should they? Those who are ultimately responsible for their child’s upbringing are the very ones who are complaining. What kind of parent allows a child to take a meat cleaver or an axe to school, let alone those with guns of various types. Their answer will be of course that they knew nothing about it, and then the big question comes: Why not?

It has been suggested that all schools have metal detectors placed at the entrances, which means we will eventually go down the same road as many schools in the USA. As a tax payer, are you prepared for the billions that would cost? The scary thing is that this survey does not cover the whole country for more than half of the police forces involved refused to release their figures. Forget not that the same situation exists in many colleges and universities in the country.

Young Girl's Also Carry Knives

Young Girl’s Also Carry Knives

You should ask yourself why children feel it necessary to take a weapon to school? The main answer is that all the other kids have one! But another over-driving factor is the fear that they may be attacked by another child. So where has all this hostility come from? We have bred a generation who refuse to obey all laws of decency and respect, simply because they were never taught to. In their world ‘it’s every teen/child for himself’. You may wonder where the violent streak in today’s teens has come from, well, you need look no further than the violent games they play on the computer for hours on end. Playing these games when not realizing they are just games often leads to a violent streak in children.

If parents had taken more time to teach their offspring how to behave, and to show respect for the laws of the land we would never have sunk so low. But as it is, many parents are more interested in being down the pub and the children can look after themselves. Many children stroll into the house at whatever time they feel like and nothing is said, no-one ever sits them down at an early age and teaches them right from wrong and how to behave. You can ask many parents at weekends, or of an evening, where their children are and they have no clue.

Killed By A Child In Her Own Classroom

Killed By A Child In Her Own Classroom

Just this week a teacher was stabbed to death by a pupil in front of the class. Anne McQuire, had served in the teaching profession for more than forty years and was due to retire in September of this year. She was much loved by those she taught, but that did not save her from a fifteen-year-old with a savage mentality. So how much further are we to go down this road.

This culture of violence has blossomed ever since uncaring parents passed on the upbringing of their children to child-minders and nursery’s, expecting them to do their job for them. Few children today have a proper upbringing because many parents do not take the trouble to teach their children right from wrong. And please Ladies, don’t give me that old excuse; “I have to go to work!” That is part of the problem, children coming home from school to an empty house with no supervision of their activities at all. Many parents today are happy if the child is watching TV or playing computer games because at least they are quiet and out from underfoot.

Young Thugs

Young Thugs

These days the newspapers are always full of children as young as eleven committing murder, especially of old folk during an attempted robbery. Because of the current laws they rarely get a proper sentence because of their age. We are breeding a generation of young thugs in many parts of the country, and one thing is certain, without someone putting a stop to it life will be hell in ten years time. Since the seventies, violent crime, even that involving children, has spiraled through the roof compared to fifty years ago. You can forget the government’s crime statistics as so much propaganda because it does not seem to include child crime which has been on the rise during the past ten years.  Do not forget, when children think they can get away with something they will go for the whole nine yards. It is time parents started taking responsibility themselves for the upbringing of their children instead of passing it on to others.

Ms. Atkinson – Another Raving Nutter!

Posted in America, Britain, Child Abuse, Child Discipline, Children, News, Parenting, Teen Violence, Teens, UK with tags , , , , on 01/01/2014 by floroy1942
Another Stupid Do-Gooder

Another Stupid Do-Gooder

The Children’s Commissioner for England, Maggie Atkinson, has said that the smacking of children in all its forms should be banned in the United Kingdom. Is this woman a raving nutter or what. Parents have little choice anyway over what punishment they can hand out to recalcitrant children, which is clearly evident in the way children behave these days.

Well, Verbal Discipline Sure Didn't Work!

Well, Verbal Discipline Sure Didn’t Work!

Tell your child to do, or not do, something these days and you are more than likely to get a mouthful of abuse back or be completely ignored. Children realize at a very early age what they can get away with, and any parent who wishes to bring up their children in a proper way, i.e., teach them respect and honesty, can do very little to enforce life’s rules on a child.

Stings A Little But Very Effective.

Stings A Little But Very Effective.

Currently, you are allowed to smack, but only if you do not break the skin or cause a bruise. Many will say this is enough, and they may be right up to a point, at least with any but the most hardened cases. Look around you as you walk the streets of any town and see the gangs of youths standing around on street corners.

Remember the Bulger Murder?

Remember the Bulger Murder?

Britain has the highest rate of youth crime in Europe and ‘it ain’t going away’ as they say. Look back over the past ten years or so and think of how many murders alone have been committed by children under eighteen. Some of them are as young as seven or eight, with many being eleven to thirteen. Now think a little further and ask yourself, with which generation did this unruly behaviour begin?

They Way They Want It Done?

They Way They Want It Done?

It began with the generation that grew up during the smacking ban when all the country’s do-gooders (many without children) jumped on the bandwagon and started proclaiming that smacking children is wrong. These idiots did their best to remove any form of chastisement to children, but guess what, children learn faster than you think.

Ever Felt Like This Under The ,No Smacking, Rules?

Ever Felt Like This Under The ‘No Smacking’ Rules?

Eventually some form of common sense did arise from this stupidity and the current no bruising or broken skin law was passed. It at least allowed some form of discipline with children. When you think of it, how else do children learn except from their parents. Today of course we suffer more and more from parents who don’t give a damn anyway, and allow their offspring to do as they please so long as they are not disturbed.

Yes Sir, My Dad Hit Me!

Yes Sir, My Dad Hit Me!

Now this stupid woman comes along and says we should ban all forms of effective punishment for children. No smacking – Ever! She also advocates criminal prosecution for parents who break this law. I can see this leading to many a disgruntled child turning up at the police station falsely claiming to have been struck by a parent just as a means of get back at them for something: “If you don’t let me go to the party I’ll tell the cops you hit me!”

I'm Not Sure Ms. Atkinson Would Have Success With The London Street Gangs!

I’m Not Sure Ms. Atkinson Would Have Success With The London Street Gangs!

So what are parents to do, those that care at least? Well, for a start I would drop this stupid woman off at some London East End housing estate one evening and leave her to the tender mercies of the local yobbo’s for a day, and then see what she thinks of disciplining children. That is always presuming she comes out alive and sane that is. Ms, Atkinson shouts loud and clear that she used to be a teacher and “never having had an issue where I’d need to use physical punishment”.

Classroom violence in the USA.

Classroom Violence - Not Always Against Teachers.

Classroom Violence – Not Always Against Teachers.

I guess that must have been a long time ago, for nowadays teachers are often threatened, and do suffer physical violence from pupils in school. A report I read last year indicated that as many as fifty percent of teachers had at some time or other been threatened with harm. Food for thought Ms, Atkinson?

Laudable Goals, But Don't Allow The Children To Rule!

Laudable Goals, But Don’t Allow The Children To Rule!

As you would expect, the NSPCC jumped on the bandwagon saying: evidence is building that smacking is “ineffective and harmful to children”. Ah well, then I guess generations of parents must have been wrong to give their children a wallop to teach them how to behave and make them do as they are told. Well, I will say this, I was brought up with the old methods and it never did me any harm.

Old Style Discipline

Old Style Discipline

It did teach me to respect my elders (not that there are many of them around now) and it taught me to be truthful and honest in all I do and say. It has never crossed my mind to pull a knife on someone I disagree with, or to steal from shops or vulnerable people like old age pensioners. I never felt the urge to hang around on street corners wearing a hood that all but covered my face, and with my mates scare the living daylights out of anyone passing by just for fun.

Good Luck With That Method!

Good Luck With That Method!

The NSPCC is also quoted as saying: “There are more positive ways to discipline children and a clear message that hitting anyone is not right would benefit all of society,” All I can say smarty pants is: Why don’t you come and tell us what these ‘more effective’ measures are! Perhaps this idiot means that children will automatically respond well to you telling them to stop whatever it is they are doing wrong. We should perhaps sit them down and explain in simple words why what they are doing is wrong and plead with them not to do it again. Maybe we should make our thirteen year-olds stand in the corner for an hour as punishment, or tell our fifteen-year-olds to write a hundred lines. Ha! I would love to see the NSPCC try that out on a bunch of kids from a housing estate. It is doubtful any such idiot would see another day.

Nice To Have Well Behaved Kids

Nice To Have Well Behaved Kids

Naturally, there are many children who come from good homes and learn the necessities of life without severe punishment, but for every one of them there is perhaps five who come from under-privileged homes and don’t give a toss for any form of discipline.

Child Abuse - It has To Stop

Child Abuse – It has To Stop

One point I do have to make clear is that I do not condone in any shape or form brutality towards children. I had enough of that in my own childhood, but I do know that it is possible to chastise a child effectively without brutality. The important thing is to start as soon as they are old enough to understand. You don’t smack a fourteen-year-old, but a mild smack when required on the leg of a one-year-old would make that unnecessary, because later the child would already have learnt right from wrong.

In conclusion, I am happy to say that it seems no-one is taking much notice of this crazy woman’s ravings, for a government spokesperson said: “While ministers did not condone violence towards children, they did not wish to criminalize parents for issuing a mild smack”.

Chris Grayling

Chris Grayling

Justice Secretary Chris Grayling said some time ago that he smacked his own children when they were young and defended the right of parents to smack their children. The Conservative minister, who has two grown-up children, said, “You chastise children when they are bad, as my parents did me. I’m not opposed to smacking. It is to be used occasionally. Sometimes it sends a message – but I don’t hanker for the days when children were severely beaten at school.”

From a Movie But You Get The Picture.

From a Movie But You Get The Picture.

On that subject I will say that ‘six of the best’ across the buttocks or hand made darned sure you never made the same mistake again, but that is for school only.

Happy New YearEnjoy 2014! May your children always listen when you tell them off, and grow up to be fine upstanding citizens of the future.

‘Pay by Results’ Will Cut Re-offending? Don’t Make Me Laugh!

Posted in Britain, England, Government, Justice, Police, Prison, Teen Violence, Theft, UK with tags , , on 16/06/2013 by floroy1942

I swear, sometimes I hang my head in shame at some of the stupid ideas politicians come up with. According to a report out last week, they want to release prisoners early and support them by giving them housing, employment and financial assistance in a scheme called ‘Pay by Results’. According to the ‘experts’ this would decrease re-offending by a ‘massive’ (their words) 2.6%.

Chris Grayling

Chris Grayling

Wow! 2.6%, now that is a real eye opener! So what they are telling us is that for every 100 prisoners released from jail early, two would not re-offend because they have been given somewhere to live, a job, and cash. I am sure there will be a friendly social worker there to tuck them up in bed too!

The news was given out at a lecture by the ‘think-tank’ Civitas, and at the meeting Justice Secretary Chris Grayling is quoted as saying, “Britain’s problem is less about offending and more about re-offending”. Well that is one thing he got right. A pity he does not realize why criminals re-offend so easily.  The statistics for the past thirty years clearly show that  most short prison term criminals re-offend, sometimes within days of release. The following graphic shows the figures for Scotland which are also representative of the whole UK.

3% Re-Offending Rate For 2 To 4 Years Or More – 11% For Those Serving Between 6 To 24 Months – 50% Rate For Those Serving Less Than 3 Months. There Has To Be A Lesson Here!

Because our prisons are at capacity, according to the do-gooders, the justice system has for many years been loath to add to the prison population, and more often than not law breakers get either a ‘slap on the wrist’ or lily-livered community service, which all criminals consider a joke. Mr. Grayling said at the lecture: “If you are serving time in prison, on average you will have committed an astonishing 41 previous offences.” The mind boggles! 41 prior offences before they are locked up – it’s ridiculous! And that is only the offences they are actually arrested for.

The oft quoted argument that Britain’s prisons are overcrowded makes me wonder why the Justice Ministry announced last January that they are to close seven prisons (within months) and reduce capacity at two more with a loss of 2,600 places! There are plans to build new ones and add to existing prisons but surely it would be better to have the new places ready first rather than the other way around. I can understand the necessity of such a move as our old Victorian prisons cost a fortune in upkeep, but it is wise to remember that with current trends the prison population is set to continue growing.

Re-Offending Rates Versus Sentence

Re-Offending Rates Versus Sentence

The statistics have long proven that the only way to stop prisoners from re-offending is a hefty prison sentence. Very few prisoners who have been locked up for more than two years actually re-offend, but the number who do after only a few weeks or months in prison is staggering. Now they think that ‘nanny’ tactics will sort out the vicious Neanderthal youth we have on the streets today. Think again Mr. Grayling! build more prisons, get rid of the TV’s and games, let them do hard labour, and make a prison sentence something to be feared once again. Then you will see a drop in re-offending!
