The Afghanistan Comedy

Today (28/12/2014) the NATO presence in Afghanistan has finally come to an end with some outrageous claims being made during the low-key ceremony held in Kabul.

General John Campbell, the U.S. NATO commander

General John Campbell, the U.S. NATO commander

General John Campbell, the U.S. NATO commander, said in his speech, “Together we have lifted the Afghan people out of the darkness of despair and given them hope for the future. I hope you take great pride in the positive impact you’ve made and will continue to make upon the Afghan people,” He told the gathered troops, “You’ve made Afghanistan stronger and our countries safer.” Seldom have I heard such a load of sanctimonious bullshit!

The event itself was even held in secret for fear of a Taliban attack on the ceremony, so how the hell can they have “made Afghanistan stronger?”

American Casualties

American Casualties

Ever since the war started in 2001 the ISAF has suffered 3,485 deaths, and that’s just the Americans! The British have also lost 453. Additionally, there have been 93 fatalities among troops from the non-NATO contributors to the coalition, Georgia, Australia, Sweden, New Zealand, Finland, Jordan, South Korea and Albania.

Afghan Caualties

Afghan Casualties

The biggest casualties are among the Afghan people, for the war has cost an estimated 174,000 civilian deaths. The annual figures rose to a new high during 2014, with a total of 3,188 deaths in the first ten months of the year. The Afghan Police too suffered heavily in the last year with an estimated 4,600 deaths over the same period.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid said, “The US and NATO mission was an absolute failure as today’s ceremony shows. They are fleeing from Afghanistan. They have not reached their goals in defeating the Afghan mujahideen, but they are keeping some forces here to reach their vicious aims.”

Taliban

Taliban

Admittedly, since ISAF went into Afghanistan the Taliban have had their wings clipped, but after 13 years of war they are still a potent fighting force that in my view, may well end up controlling the country again within a couple of years.

At the ceremony, control was officially handed over to the Afghan Forces which number around 350,000, but as we have seen in Iraq, numbers don’t say very much. Who is to say we will not see the Afghan soldiers running away every time the Taliban attack?

So far as the NATO Forces involvement is concerned, the whole exercise has basically been for nothing, for not much has really changed in Afghanistan.

British Soldiers On the Battlefront

British Soldiers On the Battlefront

Had ISAF gone into the country in 2001 with the express purpose of destroying the Taliban totally, the war would have been over in half the time and the Afghan people would now be safe. As it is, not a lot has been achieved.

I believe the commanders made half-hearted, uncoördinated attacks against the Taliban which in effect achieved very little, for they are still a strong and effective force within the country. Now they are just waiting for the bulk of the foreign forces to leave before making their attempt to take over again.

The Afghan Army is in my view not a force that can be relied on, which does not bode well for the country’s future. But I hope I am wrong, for the sake of the Afghan people.

Pakistani Troops Fight The Taliban In The NW Province

Pakistani Troops Fight The Taliban In The NW Province

When the Americans and British made their sweep of the southern provinces a couple of years back in an effort to wipe out the Taliban forces, they were stupid enough to leave the back door open i.e. the border with Pakistan. As you would expect, the militants just crossed over until the troops left and then came back. Some months later the Pakistan Army made a half-hearted attempt to clear their North-West Provinces on the border and the reverse happened.

It makes basic common sense to me that if the two attacks had been coordinated to occur at the same time, the Taliban would have had nowhere to hide and the whole action could have resulted in a major victory. As it is, the whole exercise was a waste of time.

Afghan Army - We Have Yet To See if They Can Fight

Afghan Army – We Have Yet To See if They Can Fight

What saddens me the most is that all the casualties incurred during the war were basically for nothing, because little has been achieved. Now the troops are coming home, leaving a few behind to act as instructors to the Afghan Army. An Army which has yet to prove it has the guts to fight and win against the Taliban.

The Radical Cleric Dilemma

Posted in Al Quada, Britain, Children, Islamic Revolution, News, Pakistan, Sharia Law, Taliban, Terrorism, United Nations with tags , , , , on 27/12/2014 by floroy1942

Many times I have written that in my view much of the trouble between Muslims and everyone else is the fault of radical Muslim clerics who feel it is their sacred duty to side with extremists.

This has been proven many times within the past decade or so with the likes of Abu Hamsa and Abu Qatada in Britain, who persuaded young Muslim men to go and fight for Islam with some terrorist group. The Brits are however not the only ones suffering with this problem as demonstrated by an article in today’s news.

School Computer Room

School Computer Room After The Attack

The December 16th massacre of 132 children and 13 adults at the school in Peshawar Pakistan by the Taliban, created a wave of protest against this terrorist group and finally pushed the government into taking decisive action against these terror mongers. There have been widespread demonstrations against the Taliban in Pakistan as people learn in this stark message what this group is all about.

But for some twisted individuals in Pakistan the uproar has been an excuse to come out and defend the actions of the Taliban, strange though it may seem. One such person is the pro-Taliban cleric and head of the Red Mosque in the capital Islamabad,  Maulana Abdul Aziz, who has stated publicly that the attack was ‘understandable’.

Maulana Abdul Aziz - Taliban Supporter

Maulana Abdul Aziz – Taliban Supporter

The reason he gave in later sermons to his flock was that the action was a “justifiable reaction to the army’s ‘un-Islamic’ operation against militants in the North Waziristan tribal district.” He said, “O rulers, O people in power, if you will commit such acts, there will be a reaction,” prompting further protests accusing him of being a Taliban sympathiser.

The Red Mosque has been a centre of support for the Taliban in Islamabad for a long time. In 2007 a week-long military siege against militants within the mosque resulted in around 100 deaths, and earlier this month female students affiliated with the Red Mosque issued a video statement praising the Islamic State group, and calling on it to avenge the death of Osama bin Laden.

This week a Pakistani Court issued an arrest warrant for Maulana Abdul Aziz, but it would seem the Police are having difficulty serving it. A police official in capital Islamabad is reported as saying, “The Police have received the court order and we are trying our best to implement it.”

Strong In Numbers - But Can They Make A Single Arrest?

Strong In Numbers – But Can They Make A Single Arrest?

It would appear that the Police are having problems because the cleric has many supporters within the Red Mosque. Hafiz Ihtesham Ahmed, a spokesman for the mosque accused civil society activists of pressurizing police to register a case against Aziz. He said, “This case has no grounds, so we will resist any move to arrest Maulana Abdul Aziz.” From this it would seem that any attempt by the Police to arrest this man will cause a gunfight on the streets of Islamabad.  Just like everywhere else, radical clerics have their ardent followers.

I have long held the view that it is people like Aziz who are stoking the hatred among Muslims, and fermenting the destruction and death they cause. It does not matter where you are, there will always be one of these animals preaching in a mosque near you.

Islamic State Executions

Islamic State Executions

It has been for this reason that I have always advocated the British judiciary root out these people and deport them, for they are sowing poison, and its surprising how many people get hooked on their lies, especially impressionable young teenagers. This is the main reason why so many young Muslims have left Europe to fight for Islāmic State.

I just cannot understand how any ‘holy’ man can justify an armed group walking into a school gathering and mercilessly gunning down school children as young as eight. What can they hope to achieve except turn the population against them.

Mastermind Behind The Peshawar Massacre

Mastermind Behind The Peshawar Massacre – Umar Mansoor

The Taliban, like I.S., Boko Haram and many other groups want to rule through fear, but their main aim is to rule, and enforce the savage Sharia Law on everyone. Its like every twisted and evil soul on the planet is joining these groups so they can ‘give rein’ to there perversions.

Sharia Justice - Stoned To Death

Sharia Justice – Stoned To Death

No matter what these twisted clerics say to their flocks, this is not the coming of the ‘Age of Enlightenment’ under Allah, but more a return to the darker periods in man’s history.

It can only be hoped that the Islamabad Police finally pluck up the courage to arrest this man and his followers and lock them away in a dark dungeon somewhere. Beyond doubt, it is time these vicious terrorist groups are defeated world-wide, and only strong action by the countries concerned can accomplish this.

The United Nations

The United Nations

If international assistance is required in the form of United Nations action then so be it, but to continue as we are with half-hearted and non-coordinated attempts against these people, this will drag on for decades.

In my view, the only way to stop the spread of this disease is to rid the world of these twisted clerics, for only then can peace be established once again in the world.

Well, at least until the next lot come along!

The Farce That Is Human Rights Watch

Posted in Afghanistan, Al Quada, America, Children, Human Rights, Insurgents, News, Taliban, Terrorism, United Nations with tags , , , , on 26/12/2014 by floroy1942

The events in Pakistan last week have convinced me that Human Rights Watch (HRW) are a bunch of sanctimonious idiots, and not for the first time. Just about everyone knows of the tragic terrorist attack on a school in Peshawar in which 149 were killed, including 132 children, and now it seems these idiots are siding with the militants.

In This Case That's All They Are Good For!

In This Case That’s All They Are Good For!

Why do I say that? Well, Human Rights Watch have strongly protested the decision by the Pakistan government to end the suspension of hanging insurgents who have been found guilty of terrorist offences.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

Last Friday the death sentence of two militants found guilty of terrorism offences in 2003 and 2009 were carried out on orders of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who stated that the death sentence, suspended in 2008, would be reinstated. This was in reaction to the horrific killings in Peshawar.

The two terrorist who were hanged last Friday in Punjab Province were Arshad Mehmood, found guilty of being involved in the 2003 assassination attempt on former military ruler General Pervez Musharraf, and Aqil, who was convicted of taking part in an attack on the army headquarters in Rawalpindi in 2009.

The Taliban Killers Just Walked In And Opened Fire On The Gathered Children - 142 Died

The Taliban Killers Just Walked In And Opened Fire On The Gathered Children – 142 Died

Human Rights Watch launched a world-wide protest at the hanging of these two terrorists, calling them  “a craven politicized reaction to the Peshawar killings”, and demanded that no further hangings be carried out.

In a statement the group said, “Pakistan’s government has chosen to indulge in vengeful blood-lust instead of finding and prosecuting those responsible for the horrific Peshawar attack.” This begs the question, when the Pakistan Authorities do find this group of merciless killers and condemn them to death, will the HRW contest their execution as well?

Even SADISTIC Child Killers Amnesty?????

Even SADISTIC Child Killers Amnesty?????

Amnesty International has also jumped on the bandwagon, releasing the following statement: “This is a cynical reaction from the government. It masks a failure to deal with the core issue highlighted by the Peshawar attack, namely the lack of effective protection for civilians in north-west Pakistan.”

Even the United Nations has contested the deaths by saying, “the death penalty has no measurable deterrent effect on levels of insurgent and terrorist violence” and “may even be counter-productive”. “No measurable deterrent”? There’s one thing for sure, neither of them will be committing terrorist offences again!

Islamabad Pirison

Islamabad Prison

Security has been stepped up at all prisons holding militants to prevent an attack to free the thousands of terrorists held in them, for it would not be beyond the realms of possibility that the insurgent groups would make an attempt to free their compatriots.

I am afraid that I agree with the Pakistan governments position in that anyone convicted on terror-related charges should receive the death sentence.  But I would go a step further. Knowing the Islamic fear of pigs, I would cover these people in pig’s blood before hanging them. This means in the Islamic faith that they will not go to heaven, and therefore not get their 72 virgins. That should scare the crap out of them!

Victims from The School

Victims from The School

The one thing I fail to understand is the attitude of groups like HRW and Amnesty International. These do-gooders are always mouthing off at any hint of true justice for perpetrators, but I wonder how they would feel if their children were amongst the dead in Peshawar, or the same thing happened in their home town?

It seems to me that these protest people live in ‘cloud cuckoo’ land, and have failed to recognize the true brutality of these Islamic terrorists. We live in an age where life means nothing to these people who are so bent on sowing death and destruction wherever they can, all in the name of Islam.

Clear How Parents Feel!

Clear How Parents Feel!

I wonder what they would have to say if some of the I.S. militants were to be caught and brought before the court. Remember, these people have beheaded hundreds of innocent civilians in Iraq and Syria! Perhaps HRW, Amnesty and the UN would rather they were imprisoned in a nice cosy cell with waiter service, a TV, game station and library?

It is not until sad people like these are on the receiving end of terrorist brutality that they realize what the world is fighting against. If these people object to the death sentence for such atrocities, the courts could always assign these rabid mongrels to be looked after and cared for by these idiots who are against the death sentence. I would love to see how long their ‘humanity’ would last with a terrorist living in their house, raping their wife and children.

Bin Laden Hideout

Bin Laden Hideout

I must say that to a great extent Pakistan has brought this atrocity on itself, for many members of the government, especially the Intelligence Service, have in my view been in collaboration with the Taliban all along. How else could Bin Laden have lived within a mile of a military base for several years without being caught?

Taliban Strongholds

Taliban Strongholds

Even when the government ordered the troops into the North West Provinces a couple of years ago they did not go all the way to the border and root these terrorists out. No, they stopped before the job was completed and the whole episode was a waste of effort. The government, instead of going all the way and wiping these criminals out, have since tried to appease them for fear they will attack and take over the country.

Where this entire scenario will end, and when, is anybody’s guess. Of one thing you can be sure, many more thousands will die before this sad episode in man’s history is over.

The U. N. Is Failing The World

Posted in America, Britain, England, European Union, Islamic Revolution, Muslim, News, Security Council, Taliban, United Nations with tags , , , on 27/09/2014 by floroy1942

Its true I seldom have a good word to say about politicians, but this time I must praise one, but more of that later. The fight against the so-called Islamic State, or I.S. has to me been a pantomime of epic proportions, mainly because the United Nations, who you would expect to be in the driving seat, has been left sitting on the pavement.

At Least Someone Has Recognized The Danger

At Least Someone Has Recognized The Danger

It has taken a long time for action to be taken against the I.S. murdering butchers, and that is (here comes the praise bit) thanks to one man who had the fortitude to get the world moving to defeat these people. I mean of course President Obama of the United States who almost single-handedly has woken up the western and Arabic nations to actually do something to stop these people.

I.S. Tank - Thanks To The Iraqi Army

I.S. Tank – Thanks To The Iraqi Army

Before this help arrived in the shape of aircraft bombing missions in Iraq, the Iraqi’s were losing ground at a fast rate. This was mainly because their army just wasn’t up to the task of taking on the I.S. fighters. I.S. now have a lot of American weapons, tanks, armoured cars and artillery all left behind by the Iraqi army when they abandoned them and ran. This despite all the multi-million dollar training and equipment they were given by American troops before they left the country.

Ground Held By I.S.

Ground Held By I.S.

Nations United

Nations United

With Baghdad close to falling to the insurgents it was clear that something had to be done to prevent these people taking over the country. As we now know, negotiations were opened with Arab State governments and some have reluctantly joined in the fight. Aircraft from this Alliance have been bombing I.S. targets in Iraq, and now also the oil refineries that I.S. control and are using to make millions of dollars with oil sales to Syria.

The New UN Logo

The New UN Logo

But my point is, all this has come about not by any action from the U.N. but from the American President and his NATO colleagues. All the U.N. Assembly have been able to do is verbally condemn the actions of I.S.! This body of politicians who represent the entire world and are charged with maintaining world peace, have done nothing but sit in their ivory tower and talk!

Navi Pillay

Navi Pillay – UN Human Rights High commissioner

The best any of them could come up with came from Navi Pillay, U.N. high commissioner for human rights, who condemned the widespread and systematic violation of human rights perpetrated by ISIS, charging it and other armed jihadist groups of daily committing “grave, horrific human rights violations.”
There was no “Come on lads, lets pool our armies and deal with these bastards once and for all!” There was no “Let’s work together to solve this problem”! The only decision they came up with was to ‘condemn‘ what I.S. is doing. This is supposed to be the pinnacle of human cooperation and goodwill where all countries work together to solve problems throughout the world, and yet, on this, the biggest world threat since WW2 – Nothing!

I.S. Fighters

I.S. Fighters

Some may consider that overstated, but think about it! If this radical Muslim group is victorious and forms its own ‘Caliphate’, are you really so naive as to think it will stop there? Once they have triumphed, terrorists will have an entire country as a base of operations, and next in line will probably be Afghanistan as they assist the Taliban in gaining control of that country.

I.S. Even Beheads Young Children!

I.S. Even Beheads Young Children!

Already they have attracted more than 3,000 E.U. citizens to go and fight for their cause, which is of course the total supremacy of Islam across the world. Many western governments are fearful of what will happen when these radicalized youth return to their homeland. It is thought by many they will begin a wave of attacks in their home country.

American's Fighting And Dying In Afghanistan

American’s Fighting And Dying In Afghanistan

What amazes me about this whole saga is that the U.N. is not taking the lead in eradicating this major threat. They sit quietly on the sidelines and leave it up to Obama and the NATO countries to take any form of action. The one good thing that has come of this is that Arab nations have finally decided to take a stand against this threat. During the Afghanistan war fought by western nations they sat silently on the sidelines and did nothing. They did not even recognise the terrorist threat when the Taliban ruled Afghanistan and what it could mean for world peace, and look where we are now. Islamic terror groups have sprung up all across the world as they try to inflict their beliefs on every country.

British I.S. Killer

British I.S. Killer Jihadi John

As you would expect, the Arab Nations have joined the coalition out of self-preservation, for they know full well that I.S. will not stop if they triumph in Iraq and Syria. You can bet your last dollar that if they win they will ferment trouble in many Middle East States which will eventually lead to war. The terrorist plan of sowing the seeds of insurrection have been seen in Tunisia, Libya and Egypt among many others. It is reported that militants from Indonesia and Malaysia are now fighting in Syria alongside the I.S. and who knows from where else. I.S. will train these people and send them back to their own countries to begin attacks in their homeland. There has already been major problems with terrorists in these countries and it will only get worse.

Arab Nations In The Fight against I.S.

Arab Nations In The Fight against I.S.

This makes it all the more imperative for the U.N. to get off its fat arse and begin getting together an international force to wipe out these people and any like-minded groups. Until that happens the trouble will go on and on and we will see no end to it. NATO and its allies may well curb the aspirations of I.S. in dominating the Middle East but that is not enough. We still have groups like Boko Haram and al Shebab in Africa, and many more in other countries who will ferment insurrection for their religious beliefs and they all need to be wiped out. The world has to let these people know in no uncertain terms that we will not stand for it, and if they continue they will be squashed like a bug.

Poor Misguided People

Poor Misguided People

One more thing I have to mention is the big demonstrations in America by the ‘Stop the War Coalition’ (STWC) this last week. The demonstration was against the bombing of I.S. targets in both Iraq and Syria, and to me this just shows how terribly naive some people can be.

Arab Nations Get The Message

I.S. – Arab Nations Get The Message

So far as they are concerned we should just let the I.S. take over Iraq, and maybe even Syria, and then spread their wings into Afghanistan and any other Arab state they feel like until the whole of the Middle East is under their control. I just wonder what it will take for these stupid people to realize the threat that is about to unfold on the world. If they think I.S. will be satisfied with these conquests they are woefully misinformed.

Have These Idiots Forgotten 9/11 Already?

Have These Idiots Forgotten 9/11 Already?

I.S. is a movement that is bent on dominating the world and making every country an Islamic State just like all the other terrorist groups. Do these people really believe they will be able to sit in their ivory tower and I.S. will never attack America? What will it take to convince them that once these people have consolidated their position in the Middle East, America will be their number one target. Perhaps when American civilians start dropping like flies after a series of terrorist atrocities like the metro attacks that I.S. are rumoured to be planning? How many people from western nations are going to die before these brainless idiots start taking notice of what is happening?

Makes Sense!

Makes Sense!

Not everyone on this planet can be gifted with common sense, but even an idiot must see that such a stance is not only stupid, but extremely dangerous. The one thing these misguided people must learn is that ignoring great danger does not make it go away, or make it any less dangerous.

An Open Letter to the United Nations

Posted in Afghanistan, America, Britain, European Union, Insurgents, Islamic Revolution, News, Taliban, Terrorism, United Nations with tags , , , , on 10/08/2014 by floroy1942

For more than twelve years the world has had to deal with the problem of Muslim insurgency, and it has spread like wildfire since the 9/11 attack in New York. The list of countries being attacked either from within, or outside by these Muslim extremists gets longer year by year, and yet no-one seems able to come up with a plan to deal with it on a global scale. To try and negotiate with these people is a waste of breath.

Islamic Militants In China

Islamic Militants In China

There can be little doubt that it is now a global problem, for these extremists operate in countries from China to the USA and everywhere in-between, and although some western countries have attempted to solve the problem in the Middle East for example, they have been weak and uncoordinated in the extreme.

Coalition Forces in Afghanistan

Coalition Forces in Afghanistan

I give you as an example the strikes that the Coalition Forces carried out in an attempt to crush the Taliban in Afghanistan. These forces carried out a sweep of the southern part of the country, but as usual, the Taliban fighters just faded away over the border into Pakistan. Later, the Pakistan Military also tried to get rid of them, although they did not enter all the north-west territories, which again allowed the Taliban to remain for the great part untouched.

My point is, that had the western and Pakistan sweeps been coordinated and the two forces had gone all the way to the border, the Taliban would have been left with no place to hide. In just this situation they could have been wiped out almost to man and that would have removed a huge burden from the backs of both Afghanistan and Pakistan. Simplistic I know, but the effort would have had better success with a more coordinated plan.

But what of other countries like those in Africa that are being overrun by extremist groups like Boko Haram and al Shebab etc. Boko Haram kidnapped over 300 school girls some months ago, but what coordinated action has been taken to find these poor girls? So far there is nothing to report.

ISIS Killers

ISIS Killers

The same dangerous situation is happening at the moment in Syria and Iraq where ISIS have taken over a huge swathe of both countries and established their own caliphate. They are taking more and more ground daily, but no-one seems capable of stopping them.

The famous ‘Arab Spring’ in countries like Libya, Tunisia etc. is far from over because the extremists are still trying to gain control of these countries by spreading violence on a grand scale. You can be assured that peace will never come to all these Middle East countries until the insurgents are either in control, or beaten!

So, what should the U.N. do about this situation? In my view, the only answer is for the United Nations to start acting like the protecting international body it is supposed to be, and stop beating about the bush!

Boko Haram

Boko Haram

What the world needs right now is an international force to go from country to country, city to city, town to town and track down and totally destroy all these insurgent groups wherever they are found until there are none left. A tall order maybe, but impossible – No! Not if all countries, including Islamic nations,  are willing to work together to rid the world of these parasites.

Until this world-wide scourge is eradicated there will be no more peace in the world, because these people are religious fanatics and there is nothing worse. Their idea is that the whole world must be Islamic, and they will not cease until it is so – or they are dead! So why don’t we oblige them by eradicating them completely so mankind can get back to living in relative peace.

Two of the obvious places to start would be Iraq and Nigeria. Send in perhaps 50 or 60 thousand men with representation from every country to Iraq and take the battle to ISIS. Wipe them from the face of the earth until they are but a whisper in history. With assistance from Syrian Forces they can be cleared from there also.

Once the force has cleaned up there perhaps two or three thousand troops can be sent to Nigeria to surround the positions in the jungle held by Boko Haram. With everyone moving in from all sides they will have no place to run and then they should be wiped out to a man.

One important point is that once these missions have been accomplished, all troops would leave the country so there is no argument with the leaders of that country. It would be a simple in-out operation for all concerned with no efforts being made to influence the politics of the said country.

Muslims Behead A Christian Child In Thailand

Muslims Behead A Christian Child In Thailand

I rather think that two such bold moves may well put the wind up other insurgent groups who will begin to get the idea that they cannot win. It does not matter which countries are struck, be it Indonesia, Thailand, Pakistan, India, or even China, where there are insurgents, that’s where the force goes.

This is an international problem and it will take international will and power to solve it. Only when every Muslim terrorist is dead will there be any chance for peace in the world. If no international cooperation is achieved on this issue it will go on long after I am dead, and probably many of you too.

The people of the world demand peace, and the only international body capable of achieving this is the United Nations.

The world should look to the people of the United Nations Council for an answer to these terrorist threats, and they must begin working together for the common good of all mankind. Ever since the Korean War, the United Nations has been nothing more than a talking shop, executing no real influence on world affairs, just blah blah blah!

Like I said: Blah, Blah, Blah! No determined, united military action to stop the terrorists.

The UN:- Talk Talk Talk But No Action

The UN:- Talk Talk Talk But No Action

The U.N. does little more than verbally ‘condemn’ these acts of terrorism and as you can imagine, this is like water off a duck’s back to the insurgents. ‘Condemning’ is not enough, it is time for direct international action against these parasites!

It is past time that this international body started living up to the ideals set out by its creator Winston Churchill at the end of the Second World War. To look at it now Winston would be turning in his grave!

Come to think of it, if direct action is not taken soon I may well end up turning in mine!

Iraq’s Future In The Balance?

Posted in Afghanistan, America, Britain, England, Insurgents, Iran, News, Taliban, Terrorism, Terrorists with tags , , , , on 13/06/2014 by floroy1942

Recent events in Iraq could prove catastrophic for stability in the Middle East if a positive stance is not taken by the Iraqi government against jihadists threatening the capital. To me, the chances of that are not certain and could result in an insurgent group ISIS, gaining control of the whole country. I hope I am wrong. Their aim is to carve out a Sunni enclave that would take in parts of Syria and a huge swathe of Iraq.

Tikrit Iraq

Tikrit Iraq

For the past year this insurgent group has steadily made territorial gains in both Syria and Iraq. Recently they took control of Falluja and parts of Ramadi, and last Tuesday they topped that off by taking Mosul, and now Tikrit. Their chances of holding on to the Syrian enclave seem to be pretty slim for the forces under Assad are far stronger, backed as they are by Hezbollah and other militant groups.

Mosul - Iraq's Second Largest City

Mosul – Iraq’s Second Largest City

As everyone now knows, Mosul is the second largest city in Iraq and ISIS took it with ease. They also met little or no resistance during their takeover of Tikrit that lies just 150km from the capital Baghdad. Since this latest victory they have made it known that they will attack the capital very soon. If that happens they may possibly gain control over the whole country.

Maliki Iraq's Prime Minister

Nouri Maliki Iraq’s Prime Minister

The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki, is being blamed by all sides for this upsurge in violence. He has alienated many of the Sunni tribal leaders and been accused of huge scale corruption. For example, the police and army were allowed to sell positions and promotions while competent commanders were by-passed and Maliki loyalists were given key roles.

Ethnic Groups in Iraq

Ethnic Groups in Iraq

Iraqi Army In Action

Iraqi Army In Action

In Mosul and Tikrit the Iraqi Army made little or no attempt to stop the insurgents but in fact ran away, much to the disgust of many. This despite the fact the USA gave training and equipment to the Iraqi Army worth $25 billion during the occupation. They are not what I would call an effective army even though it has a million men. This is due in part to very poor leadership. Whether they will be up to the task of clearing out the insurgents remains to be seen.

Death Rate in Iraq By Year

Death Rate in Iraq By Year

Casualties to date have been in the hundreds, and are for the most part civilians. After the takeover of Mosul and Tikrit the insurgents have carried out summary executions of civilians for reasons unknown at this time. Deaths throughout the conflict in Iraq have been huge and in recent months they have risen steadily.

Baghdad - People Living In Fear

Baghdad – People Living In Fear

There is at the moment a climate of fear in Baghdad as the population anticipate an attack by ISIS.  It is reported that citizens are stocking up on food and all eyes are glued to the radio and TV news programs to catch the latest news.

The real danger is that if ISIS gain control of the country they will use the fact to their own advantage as an insurgent group. If this scenario takes place it will be the second time a jihadist group has ruled a country. The first was the Taliban who ruled in Afghanistan with ruthless force until NATO Forces kicked them out.

Life Under The Taliban

Life Under The Taliban

In my view, as soon as all NATO forces have left Afghanistan, that will be the next country to fall to a terrorist group. The Taliban will begin moves to take over the country again, and if ISIS win Iraq, they will have all the assistance they need, for the largest religious group there is also Sunni.

In such a situation, the world will be faced with two Middle East countries under the command of insurgent groups with a sworn duty to destroy the West. Not a very good prospect. This will also give these groups a powerhouse for operations against other Arab countries where we have already recorded unrest among the Sunni populations.

Sunni JokeNaturally, part of this is the internal fight in Muslim territories of Shi’ite against Shia, two different sects within Islam. You could compare it to Protestants against Catholics in western countries.

Demonstrations In Bahrain

Demonstrations In Bahrain

ISIS, or the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant which grew from an off-shoot of al Quada, are Sunni’s and wish to wrest control of the country from its Shia government. Once they are established, this could lead to future problems in Gulf States like Bahrain which is mainly Sunni, but with a Shi’ite ruling class.

If the insurgents do in fact take over both Iraq and Afghanistan they will become a major Sunni political power base within Arabic countries in the Middle East. It is by no means a huge stretch of the imagination to understand that many Arab countries with a Sunni population majority could then rise up against their Shi’ite masters. Should any state wish to do this they will have willing help, and manpower, from the insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan. These groups may even take the initiative themselves and create the foundations for an uprising. It would not be the first time they have done this.

Iran/IraqA further complication is that Iran has said it will not allow ISIS to gain control for it will be against their own interests. In Iran around 90% of the population is Shia and they will not want a Sunni state being born on their doorstep. Other Middle East countries have either a Shia majority or are governed by a minority Shia government. They will also not want to see Sunni insurgents setting up their own state, knowing no doubt what could follow.

The United States has already indicated they do not wish to re-enter the fight in either Iraq or Afghanistan and I can understand that for there is much hatred in these countries against America. There is talk at this time of providing further equipment aid to the Iraqi government, and the possibility of air strikes against selected targets.

Iraqi Air Force Single-Engined Cessna Aircraft Armed With Hellfire Missiles

Iraqi Air Force Single-Engined Cessna Aircraft Armed With Hellfire Missiles

The Iraqi Air Force  is a complete shambles with little or no aircraft, and can therefore not be relied upon to play any major role in the fight, except perhaps for attacks by armed helicopters. So far the idea of American ‘boots on the ground’ has been ruled out, however the government is said to be looking at ‘all options’.

UN In Iraq

Past UN Presence In Iraq

I would certainly not rule out this being possible sometime in the future if these groups do manage to gain full control. If ISIS are successful, then we may well see another United Nations Force operating in both Iraq and Afghanistan with the express purpose of routing the insurgents before they cause too much mayhem in other countries.

Jihad

Jihad

The rest of the world can only sit back and hope that the Iraqi Army is strong enough to drive these jihadists out of the country once and for all, and the government works towards uniting the people of Iraq into one nation again. Even if that happens, the threat from these militants will be far from over, for they have more than enough places in the world to sow the seeds of discontent, and enough fools who will listen.

It is my fervent hope that all jihadists and militants sleep well tonight, forget to wake up in the morning, and enter a state of eternal sleep!

Iraq – The Lost Cause

The Fall Of Saddam

The Fall Of Saddam

When the invasion of Iraq took place in 2003, it was hoped that after the forced removal of Saddam Hussein from power the country would settle down and become a democratic nation. With the fight against Saddam’s forces won, the counter-insurgency war began against al Quada and other affiliated terrorist groups. Now, eleven years on, it looks like the terrorists will eventually gain control of the whole country.

It was reported today that al Quada now controls the cities of Fallujah and most of Ramadi west of Baghdad, and in my view it will not be long before they control the whole country. A similar scenario is being played out in Afghanistan where the Taliban are pushing forward and making gains. It is clear to me that once the last foreign troops leave they will once again control the whole country.

If these two groups are successful, it will mean two Islamic states totally controlled by terrorists, and will set in motion something that moves with the power of a steamroller.  It should be clear to any intelligent mind that once they have total control of these two countries, they will set their sights on others.

Scene Of A Vicious Attack By Insurgents

Scene Of A Vicious Attack By Insurgents

Africa and many Far Eastern nations are already reeling from attacks and unrest caused by militant groups affiliated to al Quada and it has been going on for several years without an end in sight. From the terrorists point of view, they see the opportunity to eventually control these countries by continually rousing the Muslim population and thereby causing mayhem and death against the various governments, in much the same way as they have done in Egypt and Tunisia among others. After the bitter fighting in Egypt and the open elections for example, it was thought that the country would settle down with a stable government elected by the people. But what happened, the Islamists got into power and began turning the secular state into an Islamic one. This did not go well with the population.

Demonstration Against Islamist P.M. Morsi.

Muslims are well known to be the easiest to whip up into a mob where a false word here an there will inflame their passion, and as the word spreads, cause a rioting in the streets and death. This agitation is the current tactic of groups like al Quada, who have changed from the direct confrontation like 9/11 to the more subtle ways of infiltration and creating unrest. The sad thing is, it works very well for them, as evidenced by all the African and Far Eastern nations that are currently undergoing strife in their countries. Kenya has a huge majority of Christians but this has not stopped the insurgents from creating mayhem and wanting to turn the country into an Islamic state.

Insurgent Shooting Captured Assad Troops.

Insurgent Shooting Captured Assad Troops.

Syria is another prime example where the trouble started with a general uprising against the rule of Assad, but was swiftly hi-jacked by the insurgent groups who first started fighting on the side of the rebels but have now turned against them too and control large areas.

In my view, there can be little doubt that Islam is on the march and we had better all look to our own futures as more and more Muslim immigrants invade our countries. In Britain in particular, their birthrate is nine times that of the indigenous population which means that in ten or twenty years they will outnumber us by a very big margin.

I leave you to imagine what that will mean for future generations of the British people.

Another Abu Ghraib Debacle

Posted in Afghanistan, Al Quada, America, Arab, Britain, Insurgents, Muslim, Sharia Law, Taliban, Terrorism with tags , , , , on 23/07/2013 by floroy1942

It comes as no big surprise to me that al Quada has launched an attack on Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad Iraq to free 500 of their compatriots awaiting execution. This terrorist group has once again been quietly growing in strength since the death of bin Laden, and with so many of their commanders and top echelon fighters  locked up in cells in this infamous place, it seemed to me inevitable that at some time or another they would make an attempt to free them. This they have achieved with overwhelming success.

Abu Ghraib Prison - Bahgdad

Abu Ghraib Prison – Baghdad

The latest news from Iraq government sources indicate that many of the prison guards were involved in helping the prisoners to escape, and to be honest, that doesn’t surprise me either. In a country suffering great turmoil like Iraq, it is very difficult to know who to trust. Whether the government likes it or not, groups like al Quada have many sympathisers among its population.

So now, not only Iraq, but also Afghanistan, Pakistan and many other nations can look forward to more attacks by terrorists, and who knows, maybe the western world also. We should not make the mistake of thinking this jailbreak has little significance, for it can have a huge impact on future al Quada operations. Many of those awaiting execution were senior commanders in the group and will want revenge, and probably do their utmost to get it.

Sunni Victims of Car Bomb Attack

Sunni Victims of Car Bomb Attack

We are now at a period in history where inter-tribal violence in the Arab world is getting greater day by day. We in the West can only be grateful, for the moment at least, that they are fighting each other and not committing atrocities in our countries. Rightly or wrongly, I believe most of this unrest has been instigated by groups like al Quada, who have clearly changed their tactics from the direct confrontation of the last decade, to the more clandestine approach of fermenting unrest, and  thereby undermining governments.

Terrorist groups, and in particular al Quada, are behind much of the trouble in the Arab world. In this I include Egypt, Libya, and of course Syria. They have for a long time indicated they want Arab countries to be totally Muslim in word and deed, and accept Sharia Law. Egypt is a prime example. It has always been a secular country with a mixture of religions living side by side without one being in a dominant position. Turkey is another prime example where unrest has stirred, initially over the loss of parkland, but later spreading to demand the downfall of the government. In Syria, Assad’s main problem was he didn’t see al Quada operatives coming until it was too late.

Christian Victims of Muslim Mobs

Christian Victims of Muslim Mobs

In other countries like Pakistan, India, Sudan, Mali and some far eastern nations, we have seen the escalation in attacks on Christian communities in the hope of driving them out by inciting inter-religious conflict.

Muslim 'Rent-a-Mob'

Muslim ‘Rent-a-Mob’

You can be forgiven for wondering how I came to these conclusions, but if you think about it, the easiest place to ‘rent-a-mob’ is in an Arab country. It takes but a few whispers in a few ears from insurgent group operatives like al Quada for the word to spread, and before long you have a full-blown riot on your hands complete with all the trimmings. When the demonstrations began in places like Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and Syria for example, I am pretty sure that as the first people joined the core mob they had no idea what it was all about. There is something hypnotic about a baying crowd to Arabs, and they want to join in the excitement. After that it takes little to persuade them they are demonstrating for a worthy cause. Especially if you tell them “It is the will of Allah”!

Britain's Violent Youth

Britain’s Violent Youth

It is pretty much the same with the groups of youth in places like Britain, and other countries, who travel from one demonstration to another to ‘have a go at the Police’, smash things, or do some looting. What starts off as a peaceful demonstration is quickly taken over by the small core of violent youth who want to have a go at ‘The System’, but for them its only because they love violence.

There can be little doubt that if you want to take over a country, the best way to do it is from the inside. This tactic has led to the fall of many Arab governments over the past decade and will continue until the insurgents get what they want, i.e., control of a country. The Taliban tried it in Afghanistan and were thrown back by international intervention, but once the foreign troops leave they will be back.

al Quada Will Be On the March Again Soon

al Quada Will Be On the March Again Soon

Such a massive jailbreak could have been avoided if the condemned prisoners had not spent months, and possibly years awaiting execution. In my opinion, if a person is a convicted terrorist and condemned to death, the sentence should be carried out within days. Had that happened there would have been next to nobody for al Quada to free.

Solves All Problems

Solves All Problems

If a person has had a fair trial and the evidence is overwhelming, why keep them on death row for months or years. The same goes for convicted killers in any country. Some in the States have been on death row for ten years or more. Why?

It will remain quiet for a little while now while the escapees get back to their camps and catch up on what has been happening, but I predict that soon, we will see a new wave of violence.

Why Do We Not Care For Our Soldiers?

Afghanistan War

Afghanistan War

I was to say the least shocked when I read a report that more UK soldiers and veterans have died after returning home than are killed in Afghanistan. According to the BBC Panorama programme, last year a total of 50 serving and ex-soldiers committed suicide since returning from the front line where they are fighting the Taliban, whereas only 44 have died in Afghanistan, and 4 of those were not action related.

Of the 50 dead, 21 killed themselves after being repatriated back to the UK, and 29 veterans also committed suicide. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has been accused of giving insufficient care to soldiers who have suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) while engaged against the Taliban. The MOD has remained coy and said only that the suicide rates among serving and ex-servicemen was lower than the civilian rate.

An Unnecessary Casualty

An Unnecessary Casualty

It is true that men in war do suffer severe mental hardship, especially when they are wounded or have a friend blown to pieces beside them by a road-side bomb, as was the case with L/Sgt Collins, a Welsh Guardsman. He was diagnosed with PTSD by the Army and given 10 months of intermittent treatment before being discharged by the doctors. He twice tried to kill himself, but eventually hung himself in a lonely spot in the Preseli mountains in Pembrokeshire.

With all of the extra knowledge the medical fraternity has gained about such problems over the past fifty years, one would imagine our soldiers get decent treatment, but it would seem that such people have been failed by the system.

WW1 - Going 'Over The Top'

WW1 – Going ‘Over The Top’

The stresses and strains of combat in today’s armed forces are somewhat different from that of the young men who went to war in 1914 and 1939, for today there are many more possibilities of the care for soldiers who have suffered mental anguish. In the 1914-18 war any soldier who suffered mental breakdown was ‘shot at dawn’ as a coward, and by the time we went into the Second World War things had improved somewhat, but nowhere near enough.

I do not wish to belittle the standards of today’s soldiers, but in these two previous wars the soldiers had to suffer far more than they do today. Back then there was no six-month rotation on the battle front, for regiments fought until they either died or were ‘almost dead on their feet’ from tiredness before being sent behind the lines for perhaps a couple of days or a week’s rest before being thrown into the fray once again. This went on for more than five long years, and the only real excuse for not being at the front-line was to be severely wounded, in which case you would be repatriated and discharged.

Normandy on D-Day

Normandy on D-Day

The front-line of today bears little comparison to going ‘over the top’ into a hail of lead from hundreds of machine guns and artillery during the First World War, when every soldier knew he had less than a 10% chance of surviving. The same can be said for storming the beaches during the Normandy Landings for example. Many will say that men were made of sterner stuff back then, even though many of our soldiers who came back suffered mental anguish just like today, but the main point is, they were left to deal with it themselves for there was no such thing as PTSD treatment like we have today, and even less understanding of the condition.

Granted, in those days you usually knew in which direction your enemy lay, but today we have hidden enemies with the detonator for a road-side bomb in the hand which does make a difference.

Which ever way you look at it, the MOD should be more able to take care of our serving soldiers and veterans, especially when you consider all the advances that have taken place since the 1940’s in understanding the mental stress of being in battle. When all is said and done, they are all hero’s!

Drones – Why the Empty-Headed Protest?

Posted in Afghanistan, Al Quada, America, Britain, Demonstration, England, Islamic Revolution, Sharia Law, Taliban, Terrorism, UK with tags , , on 27/04/2013 by floroy1942

I have to admit to getting seriously sick and tired of these stupid people who look for any excuse to hold a demonstration. Since it was made known last Thursday that UK drones in Afghanistan are being controlled from RAF Waddington, some bright spark seems to think the people should demonstrate against them. Once again the empty-headed brigade are on the march calling for them to be grounded, and an end to all war. Where do these people think they are, in a kindergarten where all the children play happily together?

If these idiots had been in control in 1939 they would have welcomed a Nazi invasion force sent across the channel by Hitler with cups of tea and cucumber sandwiches!

Reaper Drones Save the Lives of Our Troops

Reaper Drones Save the Lives of Our Troops

OK! So let’s look at this sensibly and without the empty-headed emotion. If both the American’s and we stop flying the drones over Taliban country, that means we will have to send in ground troops to get the job done. So my question is this: Would these idiots rather see plane-loads of coffins arriving at Brize Norton instead? For to stop the drones is paramount to condemning some of our soldiers to death because they will have to go in on the ground and be subject to Taliban attacks and road-side bombs!

Another Taliban Victim

Another Taliban Victim

Many are crying that we should stop the war against the Taliban. Why are our troops fighting in such a far-off country they cry. Well, the simple truth is, when the Taliban ran Afghanistan they gave safe haven to the likes of al Quada. So instead of going in and sorting the bastards out these idiots would prefer regular bomb attacks on Britain and other western countries?

When the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, terrorist groups openly had training grounds all across the country. It was there they planned and trained for such attacks as the bombings in London and Madrid that came much later. It took the Americans, Brits and Aussies among others to drive them out, and I might add, stop the reign of terror under which the Afghan people were living.

We Are Fighting Terrorism To Stop THIS Reaching OUR Streets

I couldn’t stop myself from laughing when I read the comment by Chris Nineham who is vice-chairman of the Stop the War Coalition. He claimed drones were being used to continue the “deeply unpopular ‘war on terror“. Perhaps Mr. Nineham you would prefer bombs on the streets of our cities???? After such attacks as 9/11, London, Madrid and now Boston, I find it inconceivable that anyone could be so stupid. If we stop hunting them down does he really think the terrorists will put away their weapons and bombs and become peaceful citizens. They want world domination you idiot!

Empty-headed People

Empty-headed People

I am truly sick of these do-gooders without an ounce of intelligence in their heads who think they are so much wiser than the rest of us. Many are nothing more than professional demonstrators who wander from one demo to the next without an ounce of intelligent thought being put into why they are demonstrating.

Demo Island – You Can Demonstrate As Much As You Like Here.

Talk about empty-headed idealists! I have a message for them all: If you want to live somewhere without defending the basic principles of life, like freedom of speech and liberty against the sick individuals who would force their ideas on innocent people, then I have an answer for you – Go live on a deserted island somewhere in the middle of the Pacific, and leave those of us with a sense of responsibility and right to defend the less fortunate! End of rant!

When Will Muslims Tire Of Killing Each Other?

Posted in Afghanistan, Al Quada, America, Britain, Insurgents, Muslim, Sharia Law, Spain, Taliban with tags , , , , on 20/03/2013 by floroy1942

The Muslims have been killing each other ever since the  Taliban first took over Afghanistan in 1996, when they made  unparalleled attempts to enforce their version of strict Sharia Law on the country. Since that time Muslims have murdered each other unmercifully. al Quada and other offshoot groups have also spread fear through terrorist attacks in many countries of the world from Africa to Indonesia.

Taliban Execution

Taliban Execution

After bin Laden’s attacks on western countries failed to achieve the desired result, i.e. to incite the Muslim world into violence against the West, the group changed their tactics and have since been stirring up trouble in Arab countries beginning with Tunisia, Somalia, and then Egypt among others. Over the last decade we have seen their acts of terrorism turned against fellow Muslims, which has since blossomed into full sectarian violence.

In my view, after al Quada’s original attacks did not get the desired result, they turned inward and began fermenting trouble in Arab countries in the hope of gaining some form of control in one or more of them. Few intelligent people will deny their involvement in the current battles in Syria.

Recent Iraq Car Bomb Attack

Recent Iraq Car Bomb Attack

But after all the killing that has gone on, it makes me wonder when the Muslim people themselves will stand together and tell these insurgents that enough is enough. Currently, in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria, people are dying in their hundreds, not only from al Quada and the Taliban, but from each other, as Sunnis and Shia car bomb each other daily. All the common people see of the conflict is their loved ones blasted out of existence by these mindless killers. And for what?

We in the West should naturally be grateful they are only killing each other, and not repeating the 9/11, London and Madrid bombings, but that is of little comfort when large populations are blowing each other up daily.

Taliban Car Bomb Afghanistan

Taliban Car Bomb Afghanistan

Peace seems a word without meaning in the world today and who knows when, and if, it will ever return. Is there no-one in the Muslim world who can see the suffering caused by these rabid individuals who have made it their life’s work killing innocents? It makes me want to shout to the Muslim world to stand together and banish this cancer in their midst, but from what I have seen and read, I think my voice would fall on deaf ears.

I am sure that should such inter-racial violence occur in the United States, Canada or anywhere in Europe, the people would rise up and demand a stop to the senseless killing. So what will it take for someone of stature and respect in the Muslim world to stand up and bring the people together in opposition to the killing of innocent Muslims by other Muslims?

The Inhumanity Of Sharia Law

Posted in Afghanistan, Arab, Britain, Child Abuse, Human Rights, Muslim, Sharia Law, Taliban, UK, USA with tags , , , on 01/03/2013 by floroy1942

Like millions of others, I was shocked when three years ago I read about the mutilation of a young Afghanistan girl whose husband had cut off her nose and ears as punishment for

Aesha Mohammadzai Before Surgery

Aesha Mohammadzai Before Surgery

running away from his abusive family while he was away fighting with the Taliban. Such a tragic story is almost beyond belief, but like so many unbelievable things, it happened.

After Surgery

After Surgery

Now after three years the girl Aesha Mohammadzai, now a young woman, has a new nose. It is a modern success story that will gladden the heart of many, for she will no longer have to bear the despicable scars of her inhuman treatment at the hands of her husband.

This is just one of the horror stories that emerge on a regular basis from Islamic nations that carry the torch for this despicable form of justice. We condemned with all our power the barbaric acts of the Nazi’s with their death camps so long ago, but it is evident that in the Islamic world, barbarity is still common practice. It is embedded in Islamic culture, for it forms an integral part of their religion. We in the west can do nothing to stop this barbarity under those circumstances. We must stand by on the sidelines until the Islamic people themselves decide to change.

Afghan Women Beaten By The Taliban

Afghan Women Beaten By The Taliban

The dangerous side to this ideology, is that they want to subjugate the western world with it too, and have Sharia Law imposed in every country across the globe. They will never achieve this of course, but they will willingly die trying. You could argue that the people of the western world will never bow down to this disgraceful rule of law, but on the other hand, the rule of the gun is a powerful persuader.

To Be Stoned To Death

To Be Stoned To Death

By far the worst perpetrators are the jihad groups like the Taliban, who interpret Sharia to suit their own ends. They have been guilty of hundreds of atrocities during the time they held power in Afghanistan, and still do it today when they descend on villages, even though they are a hunted group. They have disfigured women with acid and beaten women half to death for so-called infractions of the strict laws that women must submit to in the Islamic world. A woman only needs to be accused of adultery for them to bury her up to the waist and have the villagers throw stones at her until she dies. Many husbands have used this excuse to get rid of unwanted wives.

Public Hanging

Public Hanging

Even in the state of Saudi Arabia there have been instances of public beheadings, and in others, criminals and homosexuals are hung from any convenient lamp-post or crane in full public view.

The plight of women in Arabic states is particularly distressing however, for they have no redress against whatever they are accused of. Women are, more often than not, chattels with less standing than the village dog, and are wholly dependent on the goodwill of their menfolk. A daughter has no choice but to obey to the letter what her father tells her and must marry whoever he chooses.

American Honour Killings

American Honour Killings

There have been numerous cases of young women, and even children, who have been slaughtered by their parents for doing things like talking to a boy without a chaperone. Even the UK and America have had cases where young women have been murdered for wearing inappropriate clothing i.e. western attire, or refusing to marry their father’s choice. In some instances a father will promise his daughter to someone to pay off a debt, such is the depths to which these people will stoop.

Until the women of the Arab world stand united and demand their rights as human beings, things will never change in this barbaric society, and the women in particular will continue to suffer.
