Ferguson Aftermath

Finally the fury following the police shooting of an unarmed black thief in Ferguson and the following deaths of unarmed blacks in Utah and New York have died down, and life is for the most part returning to normal. But since those events some interesting facts have come to light.

Some NYPD Officers Turn Their Back As The Mayor Speaks.

Some NYPD Officers Turn Their Back As The Mayor Speaks.

Chief among them was the ‘revenge’ killing of two New York police officers as they sat in their car. During one of the funerals last weekend it was notable that many of the police officers turned their back on the Mayor as he was giving his address to the gathered mourners.

Black Gang

Black Gang

This entire episode of the last five months has brought to the surface the deep antagonism between the black population of America and its white citizens. For their part the black population, especially in the more deprived areas, seem to be of the opinion that life owes them something, and this also true of the Hispanic populations as well.

For these people the idea of getting a good education and a job are foreign because they think there are easier ways of making a living, and that usually involves crime. Just take a look at the following:

2010 American Crime Statistics

2010/12 American Crime Statistics

When you read the above statistics it sheds light on one of the reasons why there is so much distrust of blacks in America, because they account for by far the largest proportion of crime, be it drugs, rape, robbery or murder.

They Did It - Why Can't You!

They Did It – Why Can’t You!

What these people need to learn is that if you want to make something of your life you have to work at it, i.e. integrate, get an education and then a job. Always try to get higher up the ladder by improving, rather than sit on your heels and expect someone to give you everything you need. The important thing to remember is that you have to do it yourself, for there are no ‘free rides’ in today’s society.

To a great extent a lot of the blame must fall on the parents, because they are the guiding light for any child growing up. If they have the will to push their children to make something of themselves despite their own failures, we would see more integration between the different communities in America. The following picture tells a lot about the attitude of parents to their children and crime:

A Black Parents View Of Black Crime

A Black Parents View Of Black Crime

From the looks of the placard held by this father, robbing a store is part of everyday life and I guess for some that’s true. It is a police officers sworn duty to uphold the law, so what do these people think he should do when a black teenager runs out of a shop with a gun in his hand after robbing the place? The teenager is certainly not going to put his gun down and allow the police officer to arrest him. So the inevitable happens.

Corner Stone Of A Strong Country

Intergration – Corner Stone Of A Strong Country

If the black population decided together to leave the ghetto’s and fully integrate with the white population who knows what could be achieved. It is certain that to begin with the road would be difficult for their will still be the basic distrust among the white citizens for the black man, but by hard work and advancement this could eventually be overcome.

If the black population really want to integrate there is no real reason why America should not have a true black or Hispanic President at sometime in the future, if that person has made the effort to improve him/herself sufficiently.

All Americans need to understand that to move forward together, they have to work together, for it is only in this way that the country can fully prosper.

Race hatred is a bad thing, but like it or not, we all share the same planet and must learn to live with one another.

Racist Crap Going Too Far In America!

A Beautiful Christmas Song Not A Symbol Of Racism

A Beautiful Christmas Song Not A Symbol Of Racism

Some of this current racism going around in America is such a load of bullshit it makes me angry. Now the poor ‘downtrodden’ blacks in the States are criticising the fact that the age-old Christmas song ‘White Christmas’ sung at the lighting up ceremony of the New York Christmas tree is racist!!!

Darius Rucker, the former Hootie and the Blowfish singer, sang the song when the famous Rockefeller Centre tree was lit up during the annual event. Immediately this was seized upon by low-lifes as being a racist song.

Says It All

Says It All

So what do these idiots think Marius should have sung: I’m dreaming of a Black Christmas? I don’t know about you, but I have never seen a black Christmas and especially black snow! When I read of such things it makes me glad I am not an American because this is so petty as to defy all forms of logic.

This song was written by Irving Berlin in 1940 and has been a major hit across the world since then. The Bing Crosby release is perhaps the best-selling single of all time with over 50 million sales, and is still widely played at this festive time of year .

Racio Blacks, Hispanic and White Deaths

Ratio Blacks, Hispanic and White Deaths

I am well aware that many black people in America have legitimate concerns about how they are treated by the police, what with the shooting of unarmed black people recently in the news, but come on, this is way out of line! Its just a traditional song for crying out loud.

We have reached a stage of ‘political correctness’ where the word ‘nigger’, yes I said Nigger, cannot be used by white people in case we offend some black person, but the funny thing is, black people use it all the time among themselves, but if a white person uses it he’s racist!

So far as the recent incidents with the police are concerned, It is very obvious that the news bites did not show the run-up to the shootings. I refer in particular to the ‘choke-hold’ death of  Eric Garner, who was a very large man, pushing away a police officer before he was grabbed. After all, it took four of them to bring him down. In such a situation a little cooperation will go a long way, like just answering the questions put to you without a show of resistance.

Yeh! Yeh! Of Course He Was Innocent Just Because He Was Black!

Yeh! Yeh! Of Course He Was Innocent Just Because He Was Black!

Self Explanatory

Self Explanatory

The big problem from my perspective is that the black and hispanic people in America feel they are persecuted by all, but do not have the capability to look inward and ask themselves could they become better citizens. When you see black and/or hispanic communities on the TV or in films they are often hanging around on street corners in gangs, are deeply involved in drugs, and committing other crimes. This of course is not indicative of all black or hispanic people in America and I have no intention of indicating that it is.

Rightly or wrongly, part of this scene is they appear to make little or no effort in school to try and get a proper education and make something of themselves, and so consequently are doomed to a life of crime.

It does not matter if you are black or white, if you learn properly in school, pass your exams and get into higher education, you will have a better life than hanging around on street corners looking for a chance rob someone or sell drugs. This is far better than constantly whining about how hard done by you are.

Open Society

Britain’s Open Society

When the Caribbean people first came to Britain in the sixties there was to begin with some resentment from the British people, but they very quickly assimilated into our society and have for decades been respected as equals. Certainly a lesson for the black population of America.

I am well aware that this post may be controversial but I think someone has to say it and it might as well be me because the ‘persecution complex’ used by so many black and hispanic people in America today is getting very tedious.

Black Gang

Black Gang

Just like the white man, it is up to each and every coloured person to stop whining about how hard done by they are and assimilate into the American culture, and to make something of their lives by paying proper attention when in school for example, instead of staring out the window or going to sleep in class.

Very many black people have gone down in American history as great examples to the modern generation so it is time to get off the ‘persecution train’ and make something of yourself. It may be hard in the beginning but it is the only way forward. And please do not associate White Christmas with racial hatred, after all its only a traditional Christmas song.

Nonsense Overdue – Call 999

Posted in America, Britain, England, Insanity, Modern World, Police, Police Complaints, UK, USA with tags , , on 29/06/2013 by floroy1942

West Yorkshire Police There have not been any funny stories in the news recently but thankfully, an article on the internet caught my eye. It’s all about the crazy reasons why some people dial 999, Britain’s emergency number. The report comes from the South Yorkshire Police, and gives some of the unbelievable reasons why people dial the emergency number. Here’s a list:

1. One strange person rang 999 to complain that his neighbour disliked him because he was jumping up and down on a trampoline wearing a dress!

2. The Police were called by one person who stated ‘her daughter was attacking her’. As the conversation progressed it turned out her child was being very naughty and would not go to bed.

3. One caller rang to complain they could not get Sky TV with her Sky TV card. She was politely informed she should contact Sky.

4. Someone complained that children who live around the corner keep coming to her house to play with her daughter, and one of them ‘pooed’ in her daughter’s playhouse. When asked why she was angry, the irate caller said the child was only three years old but should know better!

5. One man called the Police because he had two women at the door who may be from the housing department, but asked the police to attend because he did not want to talk to them as he was on ‘water tablets’.

6. One Christmas a caller complained about some youths going around singing Christmas carols. He complained because they could not sing, and he thought they were just out to get some money.

The Emergency Services

The Emergency Services

7. One caller was very distressed when he/she rang 999 because the neighbours were making love very loudly with the windows wide open.

8. A caller reported that her daughter of 12 years, had been to the woods with four friends. They had all crossed a stream on a log, but it had slipped from under her daughter and she fell into the stream. This had ruined her new trainers. She asked the boys for help to get out of the stream and they stood there and laughed. Caller states that her daughter then had to walk home with wet feet.

10. A man rang 999 to advise that he had found some driving documents that he thought he had previously lost, and wanted to let them know.

11. A man visiting Newcastle for the weekend woke up in his hotel and complained his trousers were missing.

12. One caller said, “There is a couple with a big brown dog that is running around. It has not been aggressive towards anyone but he is concerned about the size of the dog. He has spoken to the couple about the dog but they have not done anything”.

It may or may not surprise you that these are all genuine calls to the Emergency Services, and each and every caller thought the best thing to do was call the emergency number and tell the Police so they could come round and ‘fix the problem’.

America's Emergency Services

America’s Emergency Services

I have heard that the 911 service in the USA has the same problem although I do not have any information on that.  I guess I shall have to do some digging. In the meantime, I hope this has brightened your day somewhat and at least brought a smile to your face. Until the next time.

Met Police Exonerated in ‘Kettling’ Case

Posted in Britain, Demonstration, England, Justice, Police, Police Complaints, Riot, Teen Violence, UK with tags , , , on 20/01/2012 by floroy1942

Much has been said and written about the Metropolitan Police (Met) tactic of ‘kettling’ protesters when a demonstration turns violent as with the G20 protests in 2009. ‘Kettling’, i.e. the containment or corralling of protesters into a small area during violent demonstration used by the ‘Met’ on several occasions, has proved  to be very effective.

Well Done Lads!

It has however resulted in a storm of protest in itself which resulted in a High Court ruling in April 2011 that stated the police went too far and was labelled “unjustified force”. Thankfully this ruling has now been overturned in an appeal by the Met. It’s good to know there are some level-headed people in the Justice System.

Lord Neuberger

Appeal Judge Lord Neuberger ruled that kettling “was justifiable on the ground that containment was the least drastic way of preventing what the police officer responsible for the decision reasonably apprehended would otherwise be imminent and serious breaches of the peace”, adding: “there was no valid basis for concluding that [Met Chief Superintendent Michael] Johnson’s decision to contain the Climate Camp at 19.00 on 1 April 2009 was unlawful”.

As a law abiding citizen, I fully concur with this ruling, for surely it is better to have violent protesters bottled up in a side road than allow them to run rampage down the High Street causing havoc, as happened during the riots of last year. To me it is basic common sense that you do not want malcontents smashing shop windows, setting fire to cars and terrorizing the population in a huge swathe across the city. Rather that they be contained in a small area where they can do less harm and the damage is restricted to a small area.

When you consider the numbers involved in this sort of behaviour these days the police are usually stretched to the limit when trouble breaks out, last years riots are a prime example of this. The tactic of ‘kettling’ takes some of the pressure off the police, for when the movement of these people is severely restricted less police are required to contain them.

Why the Mask?

In my opinion, we should be grateful to the police for greatly restricting the freedom of these idiots bent on destruction, instead of constantly complaining about them. The police are in the front line against these agitators who want to destroy something because they themselves cannot have it, and they don’t care whose business, car, or home is destroyed in the process.

I am well aware many people these days would rather cheer on the thugs, providing that is the incident is not taking place in their street! But how attitudes would change if it was their shop that got smashed or their car that went up in flames. Oh how fickle we are!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peaceful Protest?

It is a proven fact that most of the violent types who turn up at demonstrations have no interest in the original protesters agenda, but are there purely to ‘have a little fun’ at everyone else’s expense. To the violent fringe of todays’ youth the opportunity of smashing a few shop-fronts, setting fire to few cars and more importantly, having a go at the police, is like a holiday in the Caribbean. They love it!

Neither we, nor the police, can stop these maggots from oozing out of the woodwork every time there is a legitimate protest somewhere in the country, but we can ensure our police force has the necessary power to crack down hard on them when they do.

In conclusion may I add, that there is nothing wrong with peaceful protest. We have seen many in which a minimum of police presence is required and there is no violence committed by anyone. To those who wish to protest in this lawful manner I say, good luck, and may you be successful.

The UK Riots – Now The Blame Game Begins!

Posted in Britain, Conservative Party, David Cameron, Demonstration, England, Government, Justice, Modern World, MP's, Nick Clegg, Parliament, Police, Police Complaints, Political Correctness, Riot, Teen Violence, Teens, Theft, UK, USA with tags , , , , , on 15/08/2011 by floroy1942

As always, as soon as the trouble is over the mud-slinging begins. Everyone from politicians, to police, and the public, must have their say, which lets face it, is not such a bad thing in itself.

Do You Expect People Like This To Give In To The 'Softly Softly' Approach By Police?

It does annoy me however when politicians start pontificating and laying much of the blame on the police for not being, in their words, ‘Robust Enough’! Bullshit!

The thugs responsible for the violence and looting knew police hands were tied, and took full advantage of the fact.

Ask Him If He Agrees With Your Opinions!

At almost every major disturbance in the last twenty years, our police have been pilloried for their ‘robust tactics’! When things got tough officers reacted, often to save themselves from harm, and what do they get, hung out to dry!

Some protester or other would be filming events, and as soon as a police officer touched someone with a truncheon, no matter how justified, the cry of ‘police brutality’ went up, and the officer concerned ended up in big trouble, and sometimes in front of a judge!

It is not considered an ‘illegal use of force’ when protesters batter the police, in fact many ‘sick’ people enjoy the spectacle. In many cases our law enforcement officers suffer serious injury to keep you safe, but ‘lo and behold’, if any policeman raises his baton in even a threatening gesture against a rioter bent on destruction, it’s ‘off to the stocks’ with him.

Should He Be Battered Because He Is Not Allowed To Defend Himself?

The police leadership have obviously learned they can expect no backing from either politicians or the public in such situations, and have reacted accordingly. Good for them! But now what do we hear? The police failed to do their job effectively!

This sort of reaction makes me quite mad, for our police do not deserve this. It seemed to me, that this time they operated within the boundaries set for them by the general public and politicians, and still it’s no good!

As I have often said , ‘Damned if you do, and damned if you don’t!

Folks, you either give the police the power to crack a few heads and use the correct tools for the job, or you have them stand on the sidelines. You can’t have it both ways.

Thrown To The Wolves By Society!

We have always had one of the finest police forces in the world, but people these days want them to fight the kind of mindless destruction we have witnessed – in handcuffs.

Just as important is the reaction of the justice system, which is giving rioters and looters, some as young as nine-years-old, nothing more than a ‘slap-on the-wrist’ because of their age. Rubbish! If that’s not incentive enough to go out and do it again I don’t know what is!

Wow! Some of these looters have actually been banned from entering some 400 city centre stores in Manchester. Now that’s a master stroke that will really make an impression! I wonder which genius thought up that load of twaddle!

When Violence Rules The Streets Your Only Protection Is The Police

The real answer is to give the police the power to crack a few heads, and believe me, the thugs will think twice before going on the rampage again! I know the old saying; ‘Violence Begets Violence, and that may be true, but I am sure if our police were given full backing to use proper ‘robust tactics’ we would see a rapid end to such situations. This sort of violence requires a crackdown as hard as we can make it, and only then can you be sure it won’t happen again! The only law many of our young people today really understand, is the that of the iron fist.

How Would You Like To Be Burning From A Petrol Bomb?

When the next episode of this saga unfolds, as it will, the one thing that will deter any future repetitions will be for these thugs to see fifty or more of their friends lying in the street needing hospital treatment. Yep! I know, it sounds hard, but the police will only have to do it once, for if you want to stamp out mob violence then you give as good as you get!

I am well aware my views may be radical, but if you want peace on our streets, and instill some form of discipline on our wayward youth,  you must allow the police to take off the kid gloves and become a real  force for good – again!

Behind The Headlines – An Analysis Of Britain’s Troubles

Posted in Britain, Conservative Party, David Cameron, Demonstration, England, Europe, Government, Insanity, Justice, Liberal Party, Nick Clegg, Parliament, Police, Police Complaints, Riot, Teen Violence, Teens, Theft, UK, USA with tags , , , , , , , , , on 10/08/2011 by floroy1942

The headlines and news reports on Britain’s current period of discontent seem incapable of addressing the fundamental reasons for the unrest across the country.

A Century Old Furniture Store Blazes

From London, the trouble spread rapidly all across the nation, as city after city was embroiled in mass rioting on an unprecedented scale by young members of Britain’s society. The police were unable to stop the violence that led to vehicles, shops and housing set ablaze by discontented youth.

Riot Video:

The police were fighting it with one arm tied behind their backs, because they are not allowed to use the right tools for the job. The press added fuel to the fire with uncorroborated reports on the excuse used by the rioters, i.e, the death of Mark Duggan.

Duggan – Make Of The Hand Gesture What You Will

Duggan was considered by many as a gangster and drug dealer, with ties to one of London’s many gangs The Star Gang. But listen to his family and you hear he was a loving father and husband, in fact a pillar of society. So much for a family’s knowledge of their son, but this was what the press were so eager to report.

The whole scenario of Duggan’s death is still under investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC), and remember the first word in its name; Independent!

Duggan The Family Man?

The press however were not waiting for that, they ‘knew’ what happened, or think they did! There is little doubt in my mind that their inflammatory reports on Duggan’s death may well have been the catalyst that sparked off the whole episode.

Since that time of course the IPCC has let it be known that Duggan did not fire his gun, but maybe he was reaching for it and the police firearms squad took preventative measures. What would you do if someone was pulling a gun on you? We must all wait for the full IPCC Report.

A Female Jumps From Her Blazing Apartment

There is little doubt we must lay a lot of the blame for these riots upon the press. The photographs of blazing buildings, vandalised shop fronts and looters, coupled with banner headlines sells newspapers – and that’s what it’s all about! Why should they care about destroyed buildings, shops, and lives, when everyone was having such fun and they are selling papers as fast as they can print them?

The TV news crews were not much better, although I have to say, from what I have seen, they were a little more restrained than the press.

In the middle of this once again were our beleaguered police, trying to tackle anarchy in its worst form, practically with their bare hands. Mob violence is an ugly thing and very difficult to control, for much of the problem is in identifying the ringleaders and arresting them, and only by achieving this can you take the steam out of the situation.

German Water Cannon-It Makes Them Run!

The German police have had good results with their water cannon and dye sprays, but of course, such tactics by our police would cause a storm of protest from ?’innocent’? parties ‘caught up’ in the riot. I am sorry, but if you are on the scene, you are not innocent! Any normal innocent person would get the hell out of the whole area as quickly as possible! Yesterday, a statement from the Home Office said they do not consider the use of water cannon as relevant to the situation.Typical!

By far the largest problem for the police is public opinion. They have been pilloried in the press at almost every major disturbance in the last ten years for ‘over-reacting, kettling, heavy-handed tactics, brutality and outright murder (i.e. Ian Tomlinson). Since that time Chief Constables have been very aware of this, and put severe curbs on police behaviour with the net effect of making them all but useless. In other words they have been hamstrung by ‘Political Correctness”! When it comes to riot control, as a policeman you are ‘damned if you do, and damned if you don’t’!

Devastation

The troubles have resulted in several hundred individuals being arrested for anything from public order offences to outright arson and burglary. One individual has even been charged for the attempted murder of a police officer after deliberately driving at him in a car.

The next hurdle is, naturally enough, the justice system. At the moment the judiciary are clearly not up to the task. Too many of these malcontents are let off with community service or a suspended sentence, which is nothing more than a ‘slap on the wrist’. If that is all they get for smashing up shops and burning down entire buildings, cars and buses, then our justice system is in a sorry state.

Hopelessly Out Of Touch

Part of the problem of course is the Justice Ministry, which like any other must save money. We have already seen Justice Minister Ken Clark’s pathetic attempts at saving money by releasing prisoners early, quashed by the Prime Minister – thank God!

While the death of the known thug, Mark Duggen (innocent pillars of the community do not carry guns), was used as the initial excuse for the riots, further commentators have suggested the unrest within the ranks of today’s youth is because they cannot get employment. This may well be more accurate than most people suppose, and we have to dig deeper into the events preceeding last weekends action.

Youth On The Dole

It is a sad fact that most of Britain’s youth is considered unemployable by the commercial world.

See post:

https://floroy1942.wordpress.com/2011/03/05/young-people-today-unemployable/

The reason for this is two-fold. They were not motivated to learn, and much more damning, they were let down badly by the education system in the UK which has been failing its students for decades. The reason for this is as it has always been for the last forty years, the teachers are totally incapable of passing on knowledge, because they do not possess it themselves.

See Posts:

https://floroy1942.wordpress.com/2010/12/09/the-uk-education-system-just-got-worse-if-thats-possible/

https://floroy1942.wordpress.com/2009/06/20/its-not-mi-falt-i-carnt-spel/

Discipline? What Discipline!

Even the idea that you must learn at school if you are to have a future, has to be learnt like the ABC. This teaching should have come from parents as well as the school staff, but then we got all ‘politically correct’ and child punishment was banned both at home and in the schools.  As a consequence, this basic necessity could no longer be taught. My generation called it discipline – and it worked!

Now we have a youth who feel they can do as they please with no fear of retribution. Elders and teachers are  forbidden by law to instill any form of discipline in their children other than the spoken word, and that is useless. It is significant that all the rioters were youths and young children, many of whom should have been at home with their parents. To them it was a chance to challenge authority i.e. the police, and create mayhem, plus of course get their hands on goods they would otherwise never be able to afford. With the child discipline laws as they stand, we are headed for a much more of the same.

The Teenager’s View

Next we have the education system itself. It is no wonder companies do not want to hire today’s youth because they cannot read, write, or do simple mathematics properly anymore. When three-quarters of today’s teenagers are semi-literate how can they hope to gain employment in the high tech world of today. They are not fit for anything more than cleaning the streets, emptying rubbish bins or driving trucks.

Says It All Really

That is why they are so discontented today, and that is why they look for any excuse to riot and cause mayhem because they think society has forgotten them and consigned them to the trash already. We do not see this mindless rioting in other countries, unless its for a specific cause like Anti-Nuclear, because no other nation has the terrible standards of education we do. You do not see the likes of France or Germany importing huge numbers of skilled workers to fill jobs because they have their own. We on the other hand have none, due solely to our poor education standards.

Of course there is the other side of the coin, in which many of todays disaffected youth ‘get a kick’ out of smashing cars, shop fronts and policeman’s faces, and not forgetting the chance of a free 46″ TV, iPad and clothing they can loot from smashed shops. There can be little doubt, the youth of today have much to gripe about, but rioting will not solve their problems, and those involved should be feel the full weight of the law.

So how do we solve it? A big question which I don’t see M.P’s, or political commentators rushing to answer.

Looters On The Rampage

In my opinion. the only way to get out of this spiral of disaster is to turn the clock back to when we had a much acclaimed national curriculum and start teaching it right away. A national curriculum is the nation’s standard for education, and should be taught in every school without local deviations.

Immediately start winkling out the poor and mediocre teachers and have them attend night-school to improve their subject knowledge, if necessary at their own expense, for they are the front line of those who let down our nation’s children through their own inadequacies. I am damn sure the majority of teachers could not pass a 1950’s GCSE exam!

Second, a system of night-schools should be set up across the country to give today’s youth a standard of education that makes them employable.

Education Or More Of This

These are certainly difficult measures to impose, but to me there is little doubt they are necessary if we are to make our youth employable, and rid ourselves of the simmering discontent that abounds in our society today. If you think things are bad now, just reflect on how they will be in ten years time, because without solving the education problem things are only going to get worse, much worse. We could end up with total anarchy!

In closing, let me say that I am in no way condoning the mindless violence that has destroyed so much of Britain’s image to the world, especially with the Olympics just a year away. This is just an idea of how the underlying problem can be tackled before it gets worse, much worse.

The Price Of Rioting-Your Tax Money

Its interesting to note that the repair bill for all the damage caused by the rioting of the past few days could cost the taxpayer £100 million!!! How does that grab you folks? If it makes you angry, then the parents of those concerned should exercise more control over their children and make sure they do not go on the rampage again!

Can The Police Ever Get It Right?

Posted in Benefits, Britain, England, Government, Justice, MP's, Police, Police Complaints, Teens, UK with tags , , , , , , on 29/04/2011 by floroy1942

It seems the life of a british policeman is anything but smooth. Try as they may to uphold the law, for some people they always get it wrong. Labour MP John Mcdonnell has launched a scathing attack on police who were clearing ‘squats’ at three locations in London.

£20,000 Worth Of Damage By Squatters

For those not in the know, a ‘squat’ is an empty house that is invaded by young people who set up home there. These squatters often have little regard for the fact it belongs to someone else and are usually people on benefit. More often than not the place is trashed before they can be removed, and it is not surprising to find many drug addicts among them.

Rolling A Joint?

It is often difficult for the owner to have the people evicted, for this usually requires a court order before the police can move in.

In Camberwell the police arrested 19 people for allegedly ‘stealing’ electricity, and in Hackney another was arrested for ‘suspected disorder’ during the anti-cut demonstrations. At a third address in Sipson another group were evicted without any arrests being made.

Labour MP John Mcdonnell

According to our ‘Right Honourable’ friend (ha!) Mr. Macdonnell, the police were ‘heavy-handed’ in their dealings with the squatters because one required handcuffs while others had to be ‘forcibly detained’. I suppose he thinks the police should have ‘asked nicely’ if they would leave the premises: “Excuse me. Would you all be so kind as to vacate these premises as you have no legal right to be here? There are tea and biscuits waiting for you outside” I can just imagine what the squatters reply would have been and I cannot include it here!

I suppose Mr. Mcdonnell is of the opinion that the police should then have packed up and gone back to the station for tea.

Squatters

I am sorry Mr. Mcdonnell, but you do not live on this planet with the rest of us! I for one have seen how squatters behave when the police try to evict them, it is often a running battle, for they rarely ‘go quietly’.  As for your claim this was a ‘disproportionate use of power’ – I very much doubt it!

Unless you were actually there at all three locations Mr. Mcdonnell, I would stongly suggest you keep your big mouth shut and let the police do the job we pay them to do! There are other ways to get free publicity without slandering the police!
