Brexit

What is happening with Brexit? We are groping towards a showdown with the European Union and we do not seem to be getting any closer. Theresa May should be putting a hard fist down on Brexit but she is not doing that. We have to call an E.U. Council meeting and discuss the plans for our separation from Europe. In response we are dilly-dallying on the subject and we are not moving forward.

Theresa May seems to be going at it the wrong way, and we should force our intentions on the European Council. This has been going on long enough, and we are no closer to reaching an agreement. When an agreement is reached, and that could take a long time, we will be free of the E.U. and be able to join forces with other countries. We will have free trade with other countries, and that should have a significant advantage.

Free trade with America and Canada, Australia and many other countries. We will not be paying any high rates of taxes to E.U. and that should leave us a rich country in a few years time.

Can A Business Woman Bring Down The Brexit Vote?

The Hairdresser Who Forced the High Court Case

The Business Woman Who Forced the High Court Case

A couple of days ago I read about an English business woman, who along with a hairdresser and half a dozen cronies, has started a High Court case to make the Brexit vote by all citizens in the U.K. null and void. As I read it I could not believe that such a thing could happen considering it was a nationwide vote. After all, we are supposed to be a democracy!

Here is the basic text of what was written in the papers:

“A lawsuit brought by a hairdresser, an investment firm manager and a handful of other plaintiffs that demands Parliament hold a vote on whether to trigger Article 50 will be heard by the UK Supreme Court, according to Bloomberg.

The case is crucial because it sets out a legal path that could allow the House of Commons to ignore the result of the EU referendum.

The plaintiffs argue that an Article 50 request to leave the EU can only be triggered by a vote in Parliament, not the mere request of the prime minister. If the Supreme Court agrees, then the Article 50 request would be put to the House of Commons. It is not certain that Article 50 would get enough votes.

How The M.P's Would Vote

How The M.P’s Would Vote

As this chart from Morgan Stanley show, a large majority of M.P’s favour Remain. Many of them are likely to vote against Article 50.”

What this is saying in effect is that M.P’s must be able to vote on the motion of Brexit, and it seems that most of them are against it! Why? The people have spoken and they demand that we separate from the ‘United States of Europe’ for our own good.

I find it hard to believe that our M.P’s can overrule a nation wide vote on the future of our country. It’s preposterous!

If we stay in the Union and become part of the ‘United States of Europe’ run solely by Brussels we will have two people, a business woman and a hairdresser, to blame. Surely this goes against every rule of democracy in our country, and surely should not be tolerated. If the Supreme Court rules in her favour then the whole idea of Brexit will be in the hands of those in the Commons. That surely is not right when the people have voted to get out.

Does this mean that democracy is dead in our country, and that the people have no say whatsoever in how the country is run? We can but hope that the Judges in the Supreme Court file against this motion, for if they don’t, all hell will break loose!

The European Union – The Assassin That Is Killing Britain.

Posted in America, Britain, David Cameron, England, European Union, Germany, News, Parliament, Politics, Relationships with tags , , , , on 05/07/2016 by floroy1942

I received this from a friend today and thought it worth passing on to all those who think we should stay in the European Union. This shows the steady, and continuing destruction of Britain’s manufacturing base by the European Union. If this goes on we will be left with nothing.

Subject: Fw: EU grants – A few thoughts to ponder.

Cadbury moved factory to Poland 2011 with EU grant.

Ford Transit moved to Turkey 2013 with EU grant.

Jaguar Land Rover has recently agreed to build a new plant in Slovakia with EU grant, owned by Tata, the same company who have trashed our steel works and emptied the workers pension funds.

Peugeot closed its Ryton (was Rootes Group) plant and moved production to Slovakia with EU grant.

British Army’s new Ajax fighting vehicles to be built in SPAIN using SWEDISH steel at the request of the EU to support jobs in Spain with EU grant, rather than Wales.

Dyson gone to Malaysia, with an EU loan.

Crown Closures, Bournemouth (Was METAL BOX), gone to Poland with EU grant, once employed 1,200.

Marks & Spencer manufacturing gone to Far East with EU loan.

Hornby models gone. In fact all toys and models now gone from UK along with the patents, all with EU grants.

Gillette gone to eastern Europe with EU grant.

Texas Instruments Greenock gone to Germany with EU grant.

Indesit at Bodelwyddan Wales gone with EU grant.

Sekisui Alveo said production at its Merthyr Tydfil Industrial Park foam plant will relocate production to Roermond in the Netherlands, with EU funding.

Hoover Merthyr factory moved out of UK to Czech Republic and the Far East by Italian company Candy with EU backing.

ICI integration into Holland’s Akzo Nobel with EU bank loan and within days of the merger, several factories in the UK were closed, eliminating 3,500 jobs.

Boots sold to Italians Stefano Pessina who have based their HQ in Switzerland to avoid tax to the tune of £80 million a year, using an EU loan for the purchase.

JDS Uniphase run by two Dutch men, bought up companies in the UK with £20 million in EU ‘regeneration’ grants, created a pollution nightmare and just closed it all down leaving 1,200 out of work, and an environmental clean-up to be paid for by the UK tax-payer. They also raided the pension fund and drained it dry.

UK airports are owned by a Spanish company.

Scottish Power is owned by a Spanish company.

Most London buses are run by Spanish and German companies.

The Hinkley Point C nuclear power station to be built by French company EDF, part owned by the French government, using cheap Chinese steel that has catastrophically failed in other nuclear installations. Now EDF say the costs will be double or more and it will be very late, even if it does come online.

Swindon was once our producer of rail locomotives and rolling stock. Not any more, it’s Bombardier in Derby and due to their losses in the aviation market, that could see the end of the British railways manufacturing altogether even though Bombardier had EU grants to keep Derby going which they diverted to their loss-making aviation side in Canada.

39% of British invention patents have been passed to foreign companies, many of them in the EU.

The Mini cars that Cameron stood in front of as an example of British engineering, are built by BMW mostly in Holland and Austria. His campaign bus was made in Germany even though we have Plaxton, Optare, Bluebird, Dennis etc., in the UK.

The bicycle for the Greens was made in the Far East, not by Raleigh UK but then they are probably going to move to the Netherlands too as they have said recently.

Anyone who thinks the EU is good for British industry or any other business simply hasn’t paid attention to what has been systematic asset-stripping  from the UK.

Name me one major technology company still running in the UK, I used to contract out to many, then the work just dried up as they were sold off to companies from France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, etc., and now we don’t even teach electronic technology for technicians any more, due to EU regulations.

I haven’t detailed our non-existent fishing industry the EU paid to destroy, nor the farmers being paid NOT to produce food they could sell for more than they get paid to do nothing, don’t even go there.

I haven’t mentioned what it costs us to be asset-stripped like this, nor have I mentioned immigration, nor the risk to our security if control of our armed forces is passed to Brussels or Germany.

I tried to find something that’s gone the other way, but I just can’t. If you think the EU is a good idea:

1 You haven’t read the party manifesto of The European Peoples’ Party.

2 You haven’t had to deal with EU petty bureaucracy tearing your business down.

What a huge mess! The sooner we get out the better, for soon all our assets will have been stripped away with the help of the European Union.

Brexit – A Message For Young People

Posted in America, Australia, Britain, Canada, England, European Union, News, Old Age Pensioner, Parliament, Teens with tags , , , , on 29/06/2016 by floroy1942

So Brexit has won and now the whole country is going mad – why? Our young people are up in arms because they lost the vote to stay in the Union, but it seems that not one of them has evaluated the situation properly.

In my view they should all calm down instead of demonstrating outside Parliament, and wait and see what happens, as should many other people who were against the break. At the moment we have no idea what will happen in the near future, but I can assure you that when all the hubbub dies down and reason returns, things will not be as bad as they currently seem. The reason I say this is because the Union has as much to lose as we do.

Brexit!Firstly, we have to wait until the negotiations with Brussels begin to see how things turn out. Once cooler heads start talks we will have a better picture of how the future will look. As you would expect, there is a lot of disgruntled people in Brussels who are saying they will make it hard on Britain to leave.

Most of those are people in the Commission who are deadly afraid that other nations will follow Britain and hold a referendum. They are desperately afraid of the results, which could mean that many other countries will follow Britain’s lead.

If the European Union collapses completely this would result in them being out of a job and lose not only their power, and but also their numerous monetary benefits. You have to remember that none of these people were voted into power, and indeed, have no right to run the Union. Why nations have accepted this up until now is beyond me.

Our youth voted to stay in because they are totally unaware of what is happening to the the Union. We are coming more and more under the control of Brussels as are all the other countries in the bloc.

uk-law-brussels-flags

As the above graph shows (Official Figures), Britain is rapidly losing its capacity to govern this country as more and more regulations and decisions are made in Brussels. They are slowly taking over all decisions and dictating to us what we should do, and how. Anyone dumb enough to think that this will stop is a fool, because it will never end, and they will finally be in complete control of our country. We have to make those who are demonstrating against Brexit aware of what is really happening.

This is one of the reasons why older people, who are much more ‘world wise’, voted against the E.U., for many have the life experience and knowledge to see what is happening. You cannot say that about the young, for they have not yet learned about the way the world works.

All the cries to hold a second referendum will do no good, for the leaders in Brussels have already said they will not honour the result of such a thing. For them the die is cast, the people have spoken and that is an end to it. So what we need to do now is sit back, relax, and see what comes out of the negotiations.

Airbus WingsI don’t believe it will be that bad for Britain because the Union has as much to lose as we do. Trade may change a little, but there are many companies in Europe that rely on our goods, and will not want to start searching for new sources of supply. Airbus have already said they will not search for new manufacturers of wings for their Airbus planes, and there are many more such companies.

One of the big things in our favour is that countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada and many more look forward to doing business with us again. It may take some time after the Brexit becomes final, but trade will pick up and we will be doing what we did before the European Union came along.

Already the pound and the FTSE are beginning to rally after the huge drops we saw immediately after the results of the referendum were made known, and as I said before in previous posts, we may go through a hard time, but it will be short and we will come out much better off than we were before.

It doesn’t help to get all ‘hot under the collar’ and start screaming for a new referendum, because all we need is a little patience and the whole problem will sort itself out. I firmly believe that this country will be far better off, and have a much better future once we get out from under the jackboot of the E.U.

My advice is to relax and see what comes out of the negotiations with Brussels in a few months time, for it may not be as tough as many people think.

The British Referendum On Europe

Posted in Britain, Conservative Party, David Cameron, European Union, Government, Immigrants, News, Parliament, Politics, UK with tags , , , , on 21/05/2015 by floroy1942

David Cameron promised a referendum on Britain’s membership of the European Union (E.U.) and it got him elected, apart from the fact he had no real competition (I say that because no-one with any intelligence would vote for that clown Miliband). Cameron promised the referendum before the end of 2017 and this time he will have to honour that promise.

Which Is More Important? Our Country Or The Union?

Which Is More Important? Our Country Or The Union?

It is still 2015 and yet the muck is starting fly already because some people are insisting that E.U. migrants living in the U.K. should be allowed to vote in the referendum. How totally stupid is that!

The problem seems to be that there are over one million E.U. migrants living in the U.K., and they could well tip the balance to us staying in when the majority of British people want us to get out. They will certainly vote to stay in for their own interests.

In my view, another thorn in the side are the immigrants that have flooded in since Tony Blair opened the doors to this country. We currently have 7.5 million immigrants in the country who make up 11.9% of the total population. They too will have a huge effect on the outcome of this referendum. I believe these people will also vote to stay in because they can see major immigration curbs coming if we opt out, and they may prevent family members from joining them.

The idea has been put forward that only those born and bred should be allowed a vote, and to be honest, I agree. If that is not the case then the future of this country could well be decided by the immigrant population, and that is not right.

A Man With A Dilemma. Let's Hope He Makes The Right Decision

A Man With A Dilemma. Let’s Hope He Makes The Right Decision

David Cameron has said that he will make his decision known before the referendum date, but I for one hope he airs on the side of caution. Currently there are worries that pro-Europeans will try to rig the outcome by demanding that everyone has a say in the final vote. If that happens, in my view it will be a disaster. E.U. immigrants are currently allowed to vote in local and European elections but not general elections and that is how it should stay.

Some people in parliamentary circles are pushing for the referendum to be brought forward to 2016. Labour leadership front-runner Andy Burnham said in an interview, “It should be in the Queen’s Speech that it should be in 2016, and the message I would send to Cameron is that I would offer support to deliver it in 2016. It is not going to be in anybody’s interest for this to rumble on through this parliament. We have to get to it. We have to do it, embrace the argument. That is the most fundamental problem facing British business right now.” I wonder however if he will support the government on the voting question. It should be interesting to find out.

I hope that we can get out from under the yoke of Europe that dictates to us how we should run our country. With its Human Rights Laws, Immigration Laws and Justice Laws etc. this country is slowly being strangled, and any true born and bred British person has less rights than an immigrant! That is not the way it is supposed to be. We need to leave Europe and run our own affairs as we have always done, for the experiences of the past have proven that our system works, and works well.

Roy.
