Violence Rules

The world has changed a lot since I was a boy, and not for the better. Daily we see reports on the TV of clashes between the people and governments, and the situation is not getting any better. All across the world countries have major problems with their people, like currently Venezuela, Israel and the al Aksa Mosque. But it goes much further, with many countries in the Far East, Africa and of course the Middle East under threat from Islamic State.

Apart from countries like Venezuela and Israel many of the conflicts are caused by the Arab uprising in the name of Islamic State, who according to them, want to rule the world and change it into a Muslim world. This of course ‘is a pipe dream’ and will never happen. Unrest in many parts of the world have been going on for ten years or more, and currently we see no end to it.

Islamic State has caused havoc in many parts of the world and to my mind the United Nations should be doing something to eradicate this problem, but they just sit on their fat asses. This is one of the biggest crisis to hit the world since World War 2  and they do nothing.

When I was a young lad the world was at peace following the Second World War, and when the Korean War was over we went back to peace. There were of course tensions between Russia and the United States but it did not cause a war. Now things are different, we have fighting across the world all aimed at Islamic State who are trying the make the world Muslim.

Tensions between Russia and the United States are hotting up and who knows where this will end. I believe it is time for the two sides to get together, and ensure that the two nations can live in peace. If it continues to escalate we could end up with war between the two nations, and if they go nuclear that could be the end mankind on Earth.

All that aside, the biggest threat to world peace is the Muslim problem of Islamic State. Not only do we have war in Syria, but across the world as these people seek to control power at any cost. They have infiltrated many countries including India, Pakistan and the Far East, and have spread their influence among the Muslim population and turned them into combatants in the name of Allah.

Sad to say, but the Muslims are easily influenced by people like Islamic State, and in particular by the Muslim clerics who back the radicals. We have heard about may clerics who have been preaching ‘Jihad’ to the faithful in Mosques all across the world. Even in Britain there have been many Muslim clerics who preach ‘Jihad’ to their flock. Remember Abu Qatada and Abu Hamsa? Even today, after the deportation of these two there are still radical clerics like Anjem Choudrey, and many more in the U.K.

I have to ask myself, where will it all all end? Are we all going to be subject to Islamic State if they are not beaten, or are we to face a nuclear holocaust caused by Russia and the United States?

Currently we live in a precarious world and who knows how it will all end. Mind you, we could still face annihilation due to the continuous pollution of our atmosphere!

A Changing World

Posted in America, Britain, Conservation, England, Environment, European Union, Immigrants, Islamic State, News, Nuclear Weapons with tags , , , , on 22/03/2017 by floroy1942

I cannot believe how much the world has changed since I was a boy. I sometimes get the impression that the human race is going stark raving mad, what with all the changes that have happened over the last seventy years.

Beautiful England

When I was a young boy the world was at peace, except for the continuous verbal altercations between communist Russia and America. The only war that took place in those times was the Korean War against the communist north which was short because the United Nations got together a multi-national force to stop them. Despite that the world was for the most part at peace, and countries did not antagonize each other. On top of this we never had violent demonstrations with teenagers setting fire to shops and cars. There were of course demonstrations by the miners in Britain, but for the most part they were more or less peaceful. People went about their daily lives without demonstrations and complaining about what their governments did or did not do.

Summer In The UK

The weather was for the most part calm and we didn’t get hurricanes, flooding and drought across the whole world. In Britain winter was cold and we got our fair share of snow, but when spring came it was calm and the trees and plants blossomed and the countryside looked beautiful. In England we had many woods full of bluebells and daffodils as winter past. They have now for the most part disappeared because the farmers wanted to make more money and had them cleared. When summer came we had temperatures in the mid-twenties which was a pleasure for the people. Holiday makers went to English seaside towns and spent their time on the beach basking in the sun. There were no drunks causing mayhem on the streets and drugs were never seen.

The Raging Sea

What a huge change has come over the world today. Now we see all the things that were never heard of in those days. Wars, hurricanes, drought and flooding all across the world, and not to forget the violent demonstrations by the people against something or other. Governments having slanging matches against each other, and tensions have mounted in this modern era, and for what?

ISIS Execution

Currently Europe is battling against the influx of migrants caused by the ISIS war in the Middle East, and the continent is being flooded with these people because few countries have taken the time or effort to put ISIS out of business. I have often said that the United Nations should have stepped in long ago and wiped these people out so that the world can return to peace and all the migrants can go home. As you know, this has never happened because they stay silent.

At the moment Russia, Syria, and the United States are doing all they can to stop these people but arguments about how they should go about it are commonplace. The sad thing is, many ISIS fighters have come to Europe as refugees and have carried out attacks on various nations.

ISIS ‘Refugee’ Arrested At The Border

It was said in a report a few days ago that the whole world will be Muslim by 2050. That I cannot believe but this is what ISIS is trying to achieve. In our prisons Muslim prisoners are trying to convince other prisoners to become Muslim, and the number of people in the U.K. who have converted to Allah is growing. Why?

People in the Middle East have suffered greatly under ISIS but the other Arab countries like Saudi Arabia, Dubai and the UAE have done nothing to help these people so they have all fled to Europe. The only Middle East nation to help has been Jordan, and they are stretched to the limit.

As It Used To Be

We have seen huge changes in the weather due to global warming. Even England has had its share of hurricanes, flooding and drought. But it is far worse in other countries across the globe. Recently dozens of people have lost their lives in the flooding in Peru, and we have seen major droughts across many nations, so for example, it is impossible to grow crops to feed the people, especially in Africa. In the middle of Africa at the moment there are 20 million people who do not have enough food to keep them alive. What are the rich nations doing about this?

Murder On The Streets

Constantly we hear of vicious attacks and murder by young people these days. This was very rare when I was young because we were brought up properly by our parents, and discipline was strict during our formative years. Now all that has gone and the young people do as they please without a thought for others. Almost every day we hear of murder and violence in Britain, sometimes for the most stupid of reasons. Young people go out on a Saturday night and use drugs to get high and consume a lot of alcohol just to have a good time, and then the violence begins. Street fights, and sometimes murder.

The World Of Anarchy

The world has become a sad place and it makes me wonder how long mankind will last. In general we have become so violent against each other that the future of mankind is in doubt. Within a few years complete anarchy will reign in many countries and that will signal the beginning of the end of the human race.

Bribes

We have to get back to law and order on this planet and governments must govern properly for the sake of the people. The main trouble with politicians is the lust for money. Most of them will take bribes for agreeing to dubious suggestions put forward by companies and fellow politicians just to make themselves rich.

Gates And Buffet – Two Who Help Others

We have many rich businessmen who are worth billions, but what do they do with the money – hide it in offshore bank accounts instead of using it to help others. Two of the people who do not conform with this are Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. Most others do not care to help those who are in dire straits.

The Poor And The Rich

Rich countries are doing little to help the starving millions in Africa, and if they do there is always someone who will help themselves to the aid money given by many countries. Look at Haiti for example. There were billions pledged to help the country after their tragic earthquakes that destroyed the capital Port-au-Prince, but very little of it actually arrived to help the people rebuild their capital. Its the same the world over. Money has become a ‘God’ to the current generation, and people will do whatever they can to get as much as possible. It is my belief that all this will end in tragedy for the human race.

Clean Air – A Necessity

One thing we should not forget is the increasing contamination of our atmosphere. In many cities across the world the smog is so thick that people wear masks to stop it getting into their lungs. If this continues, then the life expectancy of the people will be very low. We will no longer see people living to 80 or 100 years as the pollution destroys their lungs.

Poisoning The Atmosphere

Proposals have been put forward to ban all diesel cars on the roads because this is the number one polluter, but this will never happen. We also have to clean up our factories that push out huge volumes of smoke to  get the atmosphere back to normal, but again this will never happen because of the cost.

Get Ready To Lose Parts Of California and Miami

This atmospheric contamination is causing the sea temperatures and level to rise. It is said in America for example, that in thirty or forty years much of the coastal towns in California and Florida will be taken over by the sea which will cause havoc among those living there. These are not the only cities to be affected as there are many more across the world as sea levels rise. The only thing mankind can do is to stop the atmospheric contamination so things can return to normal. This will take years to accomplish, but governments worldwide have to be strong.

The Aftermath

Perhaps the only answer is for the population of this planet to diminish to perhaps a few million and then mankind will be able to continue its existence. This may happen, what with the current tensions between the USA and Russia. If it escalates then someone may be dumb enough to ‘press the button’ and nuclear war will follow. Mind you, the radiation will spread around the globe and most likely few people will survive. I hope this never happens, but you never know.

The Big Problem

Taking everything into account this world has become a tragedy compared to what it was. Very few countries know the meaning of true peace and just government, and to me its only going to get worse. As it gets worse more people will die, especially the starving in Africa.

Yesteryear The Murderers Paid the Ultimate penalty

Currently the law is useless against criminals and murderers these days in Britain. It is a farce that you can kill someone in England and get a ten year sentence, but are out of prison in three or four years. In my time if you kill someone you would go to the gallows and be done with it. But the ‘Goody Goodies’ have ensured that this is no longer the case, and they keep trying for more lenient prison terms because they think that to go to prison will change the minds of these killers. This is a load of bull (and I put that nicely).

Taking everything into consideration I am glad that I am 74 and not 21. For the world is headed for some major upsets in the years to come.

Where Is Our World Heading?

Posted in America, Britain, European Union, Islamic State, Muslim, News, Nuclear Weapons, Politics, Security Council, United Nations with tags , , , , on 09/11/2016 by floroy1942

Not since the Second World War have there been so many problems in our world as today. It makes me wonder what our future holds for us. On every continent there is trouble and strife, unbounded crime, often violent demonstrations by the public, and in many cases war.

What does the future hold for the human race? Are we headed for complete annihilation in a few decades? The steadily rising tensions between the United States and Russia are an indication that we could be headed for a nuclear war if someone doesn’t do something to cool down relations between the two countries.

This has all been brought about by the rising tensions over the battles raging in Syria because the Russians back Assad, while the West considers him a criminal.

The ISIS insurgency is causing major problems all across the world from the Far East to Western shores and currently there is no end solution. As I have often said, if the U.N. were to put together an international force to wipe out ISIS and all other Muslim insurgents wherever they appear we could return to peace, but they just don’t seem interested. So consequently we have many nations fighting this terrorist organisation and they cannot all agree on the way forward. This is causing tensions among many governments and has led to major disagreements between Russia and the western nations.

Also there is the rising tensions between China and many Far Eastern countries over control of the East and South China Seas, which China claims for itself. They have no right to do this, and many countries including Japan, are fighting against it.

On top of this we have the governments of many lands at loggerheads with the population in many parts of the world where people want a change of leadership. This is evident in places like South Africa, Venezuela, Libya, Yemen, Japan and even Singapore among many others. Unrest is spreading across the globe as more and more people are dissatisfied with their government. The world has never seen as many problems as we have now.

The big problem for mankind is, where will it all end? If Russia and the West cannot solve their problems we could see a nuclear war breaking out, and that would mean the end of life on this planet. The leaders of the world need to come together to work out plans for peace before we end up starting the Armageddon process from which there would be no turning back.

The United Nations (even the name is a farce for they are a long way from being united) needs to come together with no preconceived ideas, and talk to each other honestly and with sincerity if the human race is to survive.

All countries need to work together if we are to solve the tensions that exists between nations. On top of that, they need to discuss the many problems that face the world like famine, hunger, over population, climate change, and of course the threat of wars breaking out.

Ever since the United Nations stepped in to stop communists from taking over South Korea in 1950 it has done nothing but stand on the sidelines. There have been many high level discussions about problems in the world, but all have achieved nothing.

To my mind the United Nations has outgrown its usefulness for they seem incapable of solving any of the world’s problems. I have not heard yet of a top level meeting between the five nations of the Security Council to solve the ongoing problems between Russia and The West. You have to ask if they are capable of doing such a thing, for everyone is out for their own interests.

With the rising tensions across the world one would expect the U.N. to be in the forefront of attempts to make peace, but no, they just sit on their fat backsides and do nothing.

People in most countries not directly affected by these tensions go about their daily business without a care in the world, for they do not see the building of tensions among certain countries and what could ensue from this.

If mankind is to survive there has to be serious discussion and agreement on tackling the problems of the world, otherwise we are all lost. Lets hope that in the near future the people at the top will see the sense in this.

Who To Choose – Trump Or Clinton?

Posted in America, Britain, Canada, Elections, Environment, European Union, News, Nuclear Weapons, Obama, President with tags , , , , on 18/10/2016 by floroy1942

Clinton Versus TrumpThis article may ruffle a few feathers among Americans, especially as I do not live in the USA, but the question is a valid one. Which candidate would you choose as President of the United States of America? On the one hand we have Hilary Clinton, and on the other business man Donald Trump. To be perfectly honest I would not choose either of them, for neither one is honest enough to hold the post.

So far as Hilary is concerned there is the scandal of her e-mails while she was Secretary of State, plus the scandals surrounding her and her husband while he was President. Plus their Clinton Foundation shenanigans. There is of course much more hiding under the table.

So far as Trump is concerned he has made himself unpopular with women because of secret recordings made while he made jokes about women and the many allegations of rape made against him from women who have suddenly come forward after staying silent for many years. On top of this there are his many failures in business which are steadily becoming public knowledge.

To be completely honest, I think that neither of them are fit for the most powerful post in the world, i.e. President of the United States.

In the last few elections for this post there has been mudslinging one against the other, but neither candidate has laid out how they would run the country. This was always the main focus of attention by prospective nominees in the distant past, but that has disappeared in the more recent elections.

Obama and Mitt Romney fought like cats and dogs, slandering each other and not concentrating on how they would run the country, and the same is true now. The Presidential Election has become a ‘no holds barred’ fight between the two candidates and whoever manages to drag up the most dirt about their opponent wins. This is not the way to run an election for the Presidency.

It would be nice if each candidate laid out the plans they have for running the country, and how they would coöperate with foreign powers. The people should be more interested in how they would serve the public and make their lives better. But it seems that this approach is history as we delve more and more into ‘in-fighting’ between the candidates.

The position of President of the United States is the most powerful in the world, and those who hold it should be concentrating on making lives better and paving the way for true peace in the world, but with these two candidates that will never happen. Clinton is only interested in making herself and her husband richer at the expense of the people, while Trump is only out for fame and fortune.

How will they treat Russia? Will they enter into negotiations to lift the threat of war that is currently hovering over the world? How will they treat the catastrophe that has overtaken the Middle East? What will they do in America to battle the increasing contamination of our atmosphere. How will they improve the living standards of the American people? All of these subjects have not even entered their heads for they say nothing about how they would act as President. All they do is concentrate on mudslinging.

All I can say is, God help us all if either of these two get into power.

Are We Edging Closer To War With Russia?

Posted in America, Britain, European Union, Islamic State, News, Nuclear Weapons, Politics, Royal Air Force, Russia, Terrorism with tags , , , , on 14/10/2016 by floroy1942

I read a somewhat alarming report on the internet yesterday that says RAF planes have been given the ‘go-ahead’ to shoot down Russian jets over Syria if they are endangered by them.

RAF Tornado Fighter Bomber

RAF Tornado Fighter Bomber

The RAF Tornado aircraft have now been armed with air-to-air missiles, and the pilots have been given the green light to defend themselves if they are ‘threatened’ by Russian pilots.

An unidentified source from the U.K’s Permanent Joint Headquarters Said, “The first thing a British pilot will do is to try to avoid a situation where an air-to-air attack is likely to occur — you avoid an area if there is Russian activity, but if a pilot is fired on or believes he is about to be fired on, he can defend himself. We now have a situation where a single pilot, irrespective of nationality, can have a strategic impact on future events.”

Both sides are supposed to be attacking ISIS but it would seem from the report that Russia is spending a lot of its time attacking opponents of Assad. It is clear they have an agreement with Assad, and consider him to be the leader of all Syria, even though he is a despot. The West meanwhile is concentrating on ISIS and wants to wipe them out.

UK defence officials said: “It took six days for Russia to strike any Isis targets at all. Their air strikes have included moderate opposition groups who have been fighting to defend their areas from ISIS. Among the targets hit were three field hospitals.”

Russian Sukhoi Su-24 Fighter Bomber

Russian Sukhoi Su-24 Fighter Bomber

Meanwhile, the Russians insist they have been attacking ISIS and have recently destroyed  “53 fortified areas and strong points with armament and military hardware, seven ammunition depots, four field camps of “terrorists”, one command centre, and artillery and mortar batteries.”

The disparity between the claims needs to be cleared up for it is impossible to say who is telling the truth. It is clear that the situation between Russia and the West is getting steadily worse and it only needs one plane to be shot down by the other side and we could find ourselves in a full scale war.

The Russians want Assad in control of the country for he has offered them military bases. They are clearly supporting him in this war against terrorism because when the fighting is over they will have permanent military bases on the Mediterranean coast.

The Caption Says It All

The Caption Says It All

With all this bickering we are slowly getting closer and closer to a full blown war between the West and Russia. If that happens we can say goodbye to humanity on this planet, for it only takes one person to ‘push the button’ and the skies would be full of nuclear missiles. If that happens mankind would be finished on this Earth.

A New Russian Threat To Ukraine?

Posted in America, Britain, Europe, Insanity, News, Nuclear Weapons, Politics, Relationships, Russia with tags , , , , on 12/08/2016 by floroy1942
S-400 Missiles

S-400 Missiles

Once again the threat level in Ukraine has been raised by Russia moving  more S-400 Triumph missiles into the Crimea. Ever since Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, and sowed the seeds of revolution in eastern Ukraine, the problems have been slowly escalating. Will it lead to war, no-one knows.

Bit by bit both the Americans and the Russians have been sending in troops and war equipment along the eastern border. A few months ago NATO and the Americans moved battalions of troops into Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to ‘bolster defences’.

This was answered by Russia who now have 40,000 troops stationed along the Crimea/Ukraine border, and to my mind, it would take a only a spark to ignite a war. There can be little doubt that both sides need to tread very carefully so as to avoid a major confrontation.

Yevhen Panov Shown In Custody

Yevhen Panov Shown In Custody

Recently Russia accused Kiev of sending saboteurs across the border into the Crimea, and reported the deaths of a soldier and a secret police officer in an operation to foil the alleged plot. The Russians are holding a man, Yevhen Panov,  who they claim is a saboteur working for the Ukraine government, this of course Ukraine has denied.

Ukrainian Tanks

Ukrainian Tanks

Kiev has placed all their troops on high alert along its de facto border with Crimea, and along its front line with Russian-backed rebels holding parts of Donetsk and Luhansk in the east after the claim. They have also moved a great number of tanks close to the border with Crimea.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Moscow might be forced to cut diplomatic ties with Ukraine if the crisis worsened.

It is situations like this, where lies and deceit are rife, that ends up starting wars. As the situation escalates in Ukraine and Crimea we could be heading for a whole load of trouble. I for one hope that the politicians get their heads together and solve this before it does escalate into war.

The Russia Dilemma

Posted in America, Britain, Canada, European Union, Germany, News, Nuclear Weapons, Obama, Politics, Russia with tags , , , , on 24/06/2016 by floroy1942

1It may not be top of the news at the moment, what with the Brexit referendum, but we should spare a thought for the rising tensions between Russia and the West. If things keep going the way they are we could be heading for a war on the European continent within a short time.

NATO is moving four battalions of extra troops into Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania on top of the missiles they have already moved into eastern nations because they fear a Russian attack on these countries.

As you would expect, the Russian leaders are worried because they consider this a threat to them, and are moving extra troops into their western border areas. So we have a build-up of troops on both sides of the border with Russia, and to say the least, this is an inflammatory situation that neither side wants.

The problem is that if the Russians answer this new NATO threat by adding yet more troops to the border area then NATO will answer with even more troops and so it goes on. As the tensions rise, at some point in the future the dam will break and we will be in a third world war.

So what do we do about it?

It would seem to me that the only solution is for both sides to pull back their forces and have a so-called ‘neutral zone’ between the two sides. All the border countries like Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Ukraine must become neutral nations much like Switzerland. All foreign forces must be withdrawn and Russia must provide a similar zone on their side of the border.

It will take some high-level talks to agree to this plan, but to me that is the only option if we are to solve this problem. When tensions rise between countries it inevitably turns to war if either or both do not back down.

It would seem to me that the only way to solve this problem is for dialogue between America, NATO and the Russians if we are to avoid a war. With the number of nuclear weapons both sides hold it would only take one idiot to push a button and we could see a nuclear war between east and west which may well signal the end of humanity on this planet.

I for one would not like to see this, for I may be old but I’m not dead yet.

The big problem with the world today is a total lack of common sense in governments everywhere. I might add that goes for the greater majority of the populace of the world.

All nations should think more about working together to solve the many problems that abound in the world today, instead of being ‘out for what they can get’.

Little countries like Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia will be of no great significance to a country as large as Russia, and the same goes for the western nations. They are but a pinprick on the map of the world. It is true that to take these countries back will give Russia a large swathe of the Baltic Sea coastline, but if there is peace why would they need it.

The major countries involved in this threat must come together and talk, for that is the only way we keep peace on our planet. If the current tensions continue to rise we can look forward to a war within the not too distant future and we must prevent that at all costs. The main reason being, the future of mankind on this planet is at stake.
