The EU Is Now Too Big For Its Boots

Posted in Britain, Equality, European Union, Government, Human Rights, Immigration, Justice, News, Politics, UK with tags , , , , on 30/03/2014 by floroy1942

A news item today confirms to me that the European Union has become too big, too bureaucratic and too powerful. It concerns a demonstration in Brussels Belgium of people demonstrating for separatism. Those demonstrating were from as far afield as Catalan in Spain, Scotland, South Tyrol, and the majority from Flemish Belgium.

Brussels DemonstrationThey were demonstrating for separatism from their parent countries, wishing to control their own destiny instead of relying on government from their nations capital. But it made me think hard about all the rules that are being applied across all member states by a bunch of bureaucrats in Brussels. Slowly, bit by bit, countries have relinquished individual freedoms to these people, and in mine, and I might add many other people’s opinions, it has gone way too far.

Member StatesThe basic concept of mutual defence among the European nations has now reached a stage where all important decisions relating to the governance of a country have been handed over to Brussels. European nations now have to bow to the justice system and the immigration laws as dictated by the nameless, faceless politicians in Brussels. Not only these, but many other policies adopted by governments across the bloc. This has had a catastrophic effect on the livelihoods of the majority of its citizens.

After Ten Years Abu Qatada Is Finally Deported

After Ten Years Abu Qatada Is Finally Deported

Britain in particular has been hard hit by these rules from the EU, in particular concerning justice and immigration. Our laws and justice have been withered away by rules from Brussels, and in particular the CHR in Strasbourg in that we can no longer deport undesirables, and we must release from prison hardened murderers, rapists and pedophiles because we have “infringed on their Human Rights”. As a good example of EU interference, let me remind everybody that it took more than ten years to deport the radical Muslim clerics Abu Qatada and Abu Hamsa from our shores after their constant appeals to the CHR in Strasbourg.

Foreign Workers In Britain

Foreign Workers In Britain

On the immigration side we have been forced into accepting people from all over Europe to come and work here, thus taking jobs away from ethnic British which is one reason why we have such high unemployment figures. We have to pay them benefits, which most of them send to their own country, at a time when we are staggering under the weight of millions of immigrants allowed in by the traitor Tony Blair and his corrupt government. Our Social Services are close to collapse, and there is insufficient housing for our own people to the extent where the government has now decided we must build new cities on ‘Green Belt’ land.

Is this country supposed to accept immigrants until the whole country is built on? Perhaps in years to come people will travel from all corners of the country to view the last tree standing in Britain! But at least all the immigrants will have homes to live in!

One thing we should also bear in mind is that the EU is pressing for Turkey to become a member. Should that happen, under the current rules we can expect a flood of Turks coming to Europe to find work. Although most may well try Germany, we can certainly expect more than our fair share, especially with our generous benefits system.

EU Member States

EU Member States

Britain is of course not the only country that suffers under the EU yoke. Germany, France, Belgium, Denmark all have problems with too many immigrants, but many are at least more sensible with the way they give out benefits. Only Britain has officials standing on the docks and at airports waiting to hand out the first benefit payments to immigrants. In countries like Germany for example they have to work for, I believe, five years before they receive any benefits. Also they have taken a stronger stance against the interference from the CHR in Strasbourg. Makes you wonder why we cannot do the same thing. I guess its all down to our weak politicians.

We Give More Than We Recieve

We Give More Than We Receive

I am not advocating that the EU should be scrapped, but there has to be a limit on the power they hold and the amount of interference they can wield in a country’s affairs. They are perfectly capable of representing European countries on the international stage, and of course some form of mutual defence pact is also important, but they have to be stopped from dictating how a country runs it’s internal affairs.

Many believe we are headed for a United States of Europe, but that will probably mean that all power will be yielded to Brussels by all member states. That in my view is a very dangerous precedent.

Jihadists Plan Attack At A Royal Event

Posted in Al Quada, America, Britain, Children, Immigration, Islamic Revolution, Muslim, News, Parenting, Terrorism with tags , , , , on 24/03/2014 by floroy1942

Most people will be aware that since 9/11 the Muslim radicals like al Quada have changed tactics and moved away from terrorist bombing on western targets. For the last few years they have fermented trouble in many Middle East countries in an effort to gain a foothold there. Now they have changed tactics again and are luring young European Muslims to Syria where they are radicalized and taught how to make suicide vests and car bombs.

Foreign Jihadists In Training

Foreign Jihadists In Training

Currently there are 250 British Muslims back in the country who have returned from Syria after receiving training. It is a distinct possibility that they may take to heart what they have learnt and proceed with terrorists attacks here. France and Belgium have much the same problem.

Jihadists In Syria

Jihadists In Syria

Al Quada has a magazine called Inspire that is passed among militants and provides them with instructions. The current edition has revealed possible targets for bombers including attacks on the Queen and major football matches.

The Queen And Prince Phillip At Ascot

The magazine states: “In the beginning of summer we have Cheltenham, and [at] the end of summer we have Epsom, whereby horse races are attended by thousands from around the kingdom including the Queen,” writes the author, named as AQ chef. “You have soccer stadiums, especially during Premier League and FA Cup matches. They have worldwide live [sic] media coverage. The best time is after the final whistle, when huge crowds leave the stadium and celebrate around the entrances.”

Imagine A Car Bomb Among The Celebrating Fans

On top of this, the magazine gives  instructions on how to detonate a car bomb, and advises would-be jihadists to detonate it outside luxury hotels such as The Savoy at around 10pm, when “high-profile targets” would be exiting.

MI5 and the Metropolitan Police counter-terrorism officers are taking this threat seriously and investigations are on-going. It can only be hoped that we can catch these people before something terrible happens.

Bless You Your Majesty – Forewarned Is For-armed

Queen Elizabeth has served this nation with honour since 1953, and I for one would hate to see her the victim of these Muslim extremists. There can be little doubt that such an outrage could spark off an uprising against the Muslim population in this country that would have dire consequences.

Imagine This On Our Streets, But Against Muslims Across The Country

Imagine This On Our Streets, But Against Muslims Across The Country

There is already a massive undercurrent of dissatisfaction among the British population at the huge number of Muslim immigrants flocking to the UK, and the governments inability to shut the door. Suddenly the prophetic words of Enoch Powell from so many years ago could become reality.

Regents Park Primary School Birmingham

Regents Park Primary School Birmingham

Another perhaps even more worrying point is a clandestine attack by Muslim radicals currently taking place in our schools. According to reports, they have successfully taken over at least four schools in Birmingham, namely  Adderley Primary, Saltley School, Park View School and Regents Park Community Primary School. This has been accomplished by creating false allegations about school staff members to prompt their removal by school authorities. Once they have been sacked, they replace them with fundamentalist teachers, i.e. ones sympathetic to their cause. By doing this they have been able to turn the schools into religious academies with strong Islamic principles. The process would perhaps begin with girls being segregated from the boys in classes.

The Trojan Horse In Our Schools

The Trojan Horse In Our Schools

All this came to light when some letters were intercepted between two fundamentalists involved in the plot, one in Birmingham and one in Bradford. The whole project goes under the name of Project Trojan Horse and the letter is quoted as saying: “We have caused a great amount of organised disruption in Birmingham and as a result we now have our own academies and are on our way to getting rid of more head teachers and taking over their schools. Whilst sometimes the practices we use may not seem the correct way to do things you must remember this is a ‘jihad’ and as such all means possible to win the war is acceptable. We have an obligation to our children to fulfill our roles and ensure these schools are run on Islamic principles.”  The tactic seems to have been so successful in Birmingham that they now plan to move on to Bradford and Manchester.

Another Step For The Muslims

Another Step For The Muslims

It is clear the Muslim terrorists are not sitting on their hands but are planning to move into Britain in a way not expected. There can be little doubt that if you have a child at one of these schools it might be wise to check up on what is happening. While the majority of the children attending these schools are Muslim, they also teach ethnic English there. Either way, it is clear that if groups like al Quada are taking over the schooling of Muslim children in this country they will be turning them into radicals for their cause. Who is to say that America and other countries will not be next.

Beware Britain – The bell tolls for thee!

Equality Versus Christianity

Posted in America, Britain, Christianity, Equality, European Union, Gays, Human Rights, Justice, News, Religion with tags , , , , on 19/03/2014 by floroy1942

One again the issue of human rights versus equality has raised its ugly head. A couple in Wales will take a case to the Strasbourg Court of Human Rights (CHR) to see if the equality laws outweigh religious beliefs. As we all know, everyone has a right to follow whatever religion they choose, but in a few cases the equality laws have stepped in and overridden this basic right.

The Greens - Fighting For Christian Rights And Values

The Greens – Fighting For Christian Rights And Values

I write in particular about a couple in Llandrindod Wells in Wales. Sue and Jeff Green run a guest house and had a spot of bother with the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). The complaint concerned the couples web site which advertised their guest house. Apparently, someone had complained to the commission about a line on the site that stated double rooms were “to let for married couples.” The Greens had little choice but to remove the ‘offending’ line and advertise single rooms only. Since then the complaint has been closed.

The Bulls - Leaving The Appeal Court After Losing

The Bulls – Leaving The Appeal Court After Losing

They are devout Christians just like the Hazelmary and Peter Bull who lost a court case and appeal when they refused a room to a homosexual couple in 2008. Their defence was that they were a devout Christian couple and did not rent rooms to any unmarried couples. Of their failed appeal, Lady Hale, deputy president of the Supreme Court, said: “Sexual orientation is a core component of a person’s identity which requires fulfillment through relationships with others of the same orientation.”

What About The Rights Of Religious People

What About The Rights Of Religious People

Following this episode, the Greens now want to determine which has precedence in the eyes of the law, equality or Christian beliefs and human rights. Mr Green said the recent UK equality legislation had “huge implications” for Christians “who want to live their lives according to their beliefs. We have no prospect of success in the British courts so we have decided to take this to Europe. I want to establish whether Christian beliefs and human rights are superseded by equality laws. It seems that recent UK equality legislation is being used to undermine Christian faith and values.”

Andrea Williams

Andrea Williams

I for one can hardly wait for the outcome of this case. It puts this major dilemma slap in the hands of the people who created the problem in the first place. This one bold move will tell us how the courts think about religious beliefs when weighed against the Equality Laws. Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, the legal arm of Christian Concern, said, “It is ironic that the court in Strasbourg seems to understand the nature of Christian faith better than our own courts. Debate over sexual morality has been allowed to become a battlefield and we are concerned about the attempt to clamp down and even exclude Christian beliefs on the issue from public life.”

Our Judges Have 'Lost The Plot'

Our Judges Have ‘Lost The Plot’

It sickens me when I read such stories, because the homosexual population seem to think they can run rough-shod over everyone and everything just be screaming ‘Discrimination’ to the Equality Commission. In Britain in particular judges do not have the ‘balls’ to put a stop to this nonsense. ‘Gay’ parades, ‘gay’ marriage, the adoption of babies, it has all gone too far and all the in the name of ‘equality’.

I see no reason why a devout Christian couple should not refuse a room to an unmarried or homosexual couple if it goes against their religion. But the sad thing is, being a true Christian is becoming outdated, and anyone who still believes is an outcast.

Homosexuals Milking The System

Homosexuals Milking The System

The human rights laws were conceived with noble purpose, but today they are used by homosexuals and criminals (with the help of dubious money-grabbing lawyers) to get what they want, be it right or wrong. The laws have been perverted to such an extent that they protect the undeserving far more than those who really need them.

In my humble opinion, the quicker we get out from under the crushing yoke of Europe’s EHCR and the CHR the better, for then Britain can once again have a set of laws that are sensible and righteous.

Apple Fleecing Their Customers?

Posted in America, Britain, England, Europe, Mobile Phone, Modern World, News, Teens, UK, USA with tags , , , , on 10/03/2014 by floroy1942

I have always known that Apple products are ridiculously expensive, but an article I read today really brings home how much profit the company is making on its goods.

iPhone 5S

iPhone 5S

The example given was for the Apple iPhone 5S 16G model which gives Apple a staggering 41.4% profit on each item sold. The production cost of this phone, which is sold in the UK for £549, is a mere £129. This includes the research and development costs, marketing and distribution, and VAT.

IPhone costProduction of the other models with greater memory capacity like the 32G and 64G versions give the company even more profit. The 32G model sells for £629, an increase of £80 for the extra memory, but the production costs are only £6 more than the 16G model. The 64G phone costs consumers an extra £160, at £709 with only a difference of £12 in production costs over the 16G model.

It used to be argued that Apple products were more stable and reliable than other manufacturers, but is that still true today? For many, to go that extra mile and buy an Apple product was worth it because they were superior to other models on the market, but those days are now long gone. With stiff competition coming from companies like Samsung, it is now more a question of getting value and reliability for your hard-earned cash.  In the past this has always been a good reason to buy from Apple.

I must admit that both my wife and I have iPhones, but there is now a big question mark over whether we will buy another one. My phone has been exchanged for a new one three times because of problems, and my wife has had hers changed twice. So to be honest, reliability is not a very good reason to continue.

There is little doubt that you cannot fault Apple on their product guarantee service, for there is no haggling or being brushed off with excuses, the item is exchanged for a new one on the spot. For this I applaud the company, for there are few with such a good reputation in this area. It can be argued however, that with such a huge profit margin they can afford to do this.

Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs

In my view, since the demise of Steve Jobs the company has gone downhill in many ways, the most important being reliability. Apple is trying to pack too much technology into their phones. These days they can do just about everything except fry an egg.

It is a fact of life that the more technical things become, the more things can go wrong. I believe manufacturers should remain aware of this. But you see, it is the march of progress, and each company must come up with new gadgets to beat the competition. When I had my 3S phone I kept it for four years without a single problem, but ever since I upgraded I get problems, hence having it changed three times under the guarantee.

Too Much Technology Can Lead To Crash And Burn!

Too Much Technology Can Lead To Crash And Burn!

There can be little doubt that feeding the gadget hungry young people of today will continue with companies like Apple, and eventually we may well be able to fry an egg with the phone, but it will all come crashing down when people realise that reliability is also important.

Ukraine – A Simple Solution

Posted in America, Britain, England, European Union, News, Politics, Russia, UK, United Nations, USA with tags , , , , on 05/03/2014 by floroy1942

I believe Vladimir Putin has only one thing on his mind when it comes to the Ukraine, and all western nations, including Ukraine, could defuse the whole problem with one simple move.

With almost every nation except China condemning the Russian occupation of Crimea, no-one seems capable of asking why. All we hear from politicians and the Press on both sides of the Atlantic is about Russian aggression.

Russian Bases In The Crimea

Russian Bases In The Crimea

Stand-off

Stand-off

The Russian forces have occupied only the island of Crimea on the pretext of ‘protecting Russian speakers from the new government in Kiev’. But why only Crimea? Much of the eastern part of the country has Russian speakers but they are making no moves to ‘protect’ them.

As I said in my last post, the real reason for the ‘invasion’ is that Putin does not wish to lose his Black Sea naval base in Sevastopol. This base, and the small harbour in Tartus Syria, which is also under threat, are the only outlets for the Russian navy into the Mediterranean and the belly of Europe. Should Russia lose these two bases, the navy will be forced to move to either Murmansk in the Arctic Circle, or Vladivostok on Russia’s Pacific coast. For the Russians this would be a strategic nightmare in the event of trouble on the European continent.

Sevastopol Navy Base

Sevastopol Navy Base

Instead of throwing insults and the threat of sanctions at each other, the western nations involved, Ukraine, the USA, Britain, France and Germany, would be far better off negotiating international guarantees about the continuation of the Soviet naval base in Sevastopol.

This one act would take the wind out of Putin’s sails and guarantee the integrity of Ukraine.

The Ukraine Crisis And What It’s All About

Posted in America, Britain, England, European Union, Germany, News, Politics, Russia, UK, USA with tags , , , on 01/03/2014 by floroy1942

The crisis in Ukraine has been hitting the headlines for several weeks and sadly many have died. Now we have the Russian’s being accused of ‘occupying’ parts of the Crimea, in particular around Simferopol. Ukraine is a divided nation, with a significant portion of the population in the eastern parts being of Russian origin. This fact alone has raised tensions, as they would rather be allied with Russia than the EU as you would expect.

Yanukovich Balancing Act

The trouble began when politicians started making overtures to Europe to join the Union, which naturally most western countries were for, in particular the United States, Britain, France and Germany. It was no doubt foreseen by many that once a member of the European Union, Ukraine would also join NATO, which would put western forces on the very border of Russia. This would be a strategic advantage for the west, but a nightmare for Russia.

A Man With A Dilemma

The Ukraine politicians, such as they are, are now issuing warnings to Russia and Vladimir Putin not to interfere in Ukrainian affairs. This warning is being echoed by the United States and others. Those currently in power in Ukraine are worried that the country will be split along ethnic lines, and the eastern part will become part of, or at least align, with its eastern neighbour.

Russian Black Sea Fleet

But why is Russia stepping into the game? I believe the answer lies in one thing, their huge naval base in Sevastopol. This Crimea city on the shores of the Black Sea is home to a large Russian fleet, and is their outlet into the Mediterranean Sea. They have only one other much smaller naval base within reach of the Med and that is in Syria, which is now also under threat.

Murmansk Northern Russia

Murmansk Northern Russia

Should Russia lose these two bases, which is likely if (a) Assad is crushed, and (b) the whole of Ukraine joins the EU, the Russian fleets will be banished to ports like Murmansk in the far north, or Vladivostok on the Pacific coast in the Russian Far East. Strategically, this would be a nightmare for Russia in the event of a flare-up of hostilities in the European theater.

In effect, this means that the Soviet Union has a lot riding on the outcome of the political battle being waged within Ukraine. The fact that 6,000 Russian troops are openly reported on the streets of Simferopol means they are not likely to give up trying to get the Crimea at least to join them.

Russia’s Two Navy Bases

This leaves politicians in a dilemma, for while no-one wants to see the country divided, there does seem little choice. Despite all the sabre-rattling, I doubt if any nation, east or west, will risk going to war over this issue and it seems that a political agreement is the only way forward. Of one thing we can be sure, the pro-Russian sector of the country will not want to align itself with Europe and vice versa, so everyone will be forced to accept the compromise of partition in the Ukraine.

Yanukovitch Ousted For Siding With Russia

The whole exercise is however fraught with danger, for tensions are high and it could take only a single shot to plunge the country into chaos and maybe even civil war. Whoever is responsible for negotiating a deal will have to tread very carefully, and both sides will have to be ready to compromise. Let us hope that ‘cool heads’ rule the day.
