If Allah Is Merciful, Then Why Do Muslims Hate So Much?

I read with complete horror yesterday about a mentally disabled 11 year-old Pakistani girl who was arrested by the police at the behest of a baying mob of Muslims. They accused her of blasphemy because she supposedly carried a sack of rubbish with some pages of the Koran mixed in. It was probably just a coincidence that she was Christian from a Christian family, or so they will have us believe.

WHAT!!!

At first the police were loath to take action, but a large screaming crowd of Muslims threatened to start burning down Christian homes if they did not arrest her. It was widely known that the girl had a mental condition but this did not stop the Muslim crowd. When the girl, who is dyslexic, arrived at the police station she could not even answer the police questions. As a result of the disturbance some 600 Christian families have been forced to flee for their lives. Even though the police could find no trace of Koran pages in the sack she carried, the girl is currently being held in Islamabad prison “for her own protection”.

Salman Taseer

Pakistan has long fought a battle with Muslims over the contentious ‘Blasphemy Laws’ currently in force. Several politicians have tried to change them but it has cost them their lives. In 2011 Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, who was a prominent critic of the law, was assassinated by his bodyguard, and in March 2011 Religious Minorities Minister Shahbaz Bhatti was shot dead in Islamabad.

The Killer – How Pleased He Looks.

There is no great rush to follow in their shoes by members of the Pakistani government, although most would like very much to see these laws repealed. Part of the problem is that the blasphemy laws are often mis-used by Muslims to ‘get even’ with anyone they see as having offended them. The head of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Zora Yusuf is quoted as saying: “It has been exploited by individuals to settle personal scores, to grab land, to violate the rights of non-Muslims, to basically harass them”.

The laws originated in India in 1860, were expanded in 1927, and eventually carried over into Pakistan Law when the country was first formed in 1947. Since that time these laws have been a bone of contention. They were expanded in 1980, 1982, 1984 and 1986, each time getting more discriminatory, with harsher sentences for the most minor infractions of the so-called ‘Muslim Code’. In certain parts of Pakistan, as a Christian you are better staying at least one hundred yards away from any Muslim or copy of the Koran, and keeping your mouth tightly closed. But all this is not the subject of this post.

Killed For Being A Christian?

To put it bluntly, if you ask any Muslim what Allah stands for, they will tell you that he is a peaceful God of mercy. So now comes the big question. If that is a righteous description of Allah and what he stands for, why are most Muslims so full of hate for anyone who is not a Muslim? Why do they demand that a mentally disabled girl of eleven be arrested and tried for carrying a bag full of waste that may or may not have contained a page or two of the Koran? Why are non-Muslims hung from street lamps, stoned to death, or spend the rest of their lives in a prison cell on some trumped up charge? Why are Christians for example vilified and killed all over the world just because they are not Muslims? Questions, questions, but never any satisfactory answers.

Do they think that this is what their wise, peaceful, and merciful Allah wants? Because I have to admit, it certainly doesn’t sound like it to me. Non-Muslims live in perpetual fear in countries with a large Muslim population, and many have been killed in his name.

Typical Muslims Who Follow the Teachings of Allah?

So what does this all mean? Is it that the Muslim perception of Allah is wrong and that he is in fact a merciless God who wants control of the world at any price? This I doubt. Could it be that there are evil men who profess to be Allah’s messengers (you know who I mean), who delight in seeing such destruction and death because it makes them feel powerful? Control over a blind, mindless mob is still power! I think this comes closer to the truth. How could bin Laden have said he is doing the work of Allah on 9/11 if his God is wise, merciful and peaceful?

I would be more than happy to hear the real truth behind Islam if any Muslim cares to comment. I am also sure there are many millions of non-Muslims who would too! May the peace of Allah be upon you.

I am a Muslim and those who kill Christians are the not Muslims by heart only by name and I fear that Muslims are losing their ways by the years but there are many Muslims that are Muslims by heart. Our religion didn’t say anything about killing and It was said by Allah,” who ever kills will feel hell’s fire.” . Allah does not like killers and Islam doesn’t too. The Quran is a book of tales that Allah says. It does not tell Muslims to kill nor hate but to love and be kind. Evey thing that tells the opposite is not in the Quran. Those people who claim they are Muslims are not. They are just trying to blame Islam and tell people that it is bad. Allah only allowed killing in war but not anything else. Please don’t spoil Allah’s name. Allah is merciful and kind. Allah forgives but doesn’t hurt. I will stand and say this,” Allah is my god but I shall not tolerate those who say there Muslims just to spill the name as a bad omen.” . Killing is bad but those who hate are not Muslims by heart just by name be careful of them. They are not kind or anything a Muslim is so. Please don’t say all Muslims are evil. Islam is peaceful but those who do the opposite and taunt the name as a bad omen are not Muslims , They are just Muslim by name. I hope you get it, Roy and the people who read this.

I agree fully with what you say, and it is up to Muslims to track down these terrorists and put them out of business. I know all Muslims are not evil, but the terrorists are making it difficult for true Muslims who believe in peace.

    Hi Roy,
I check statistics for wealth, literacy, health and a lot more and it is impossible to ignore that Islam itself holds muslim societies back.
Worldwide, astonishingly profound ignorance and very low levels of literacy lead to poverty, extremism, hatred an so on. Most of the modern muslim world society appears to have – almost – no literature, plays, art, sculpture, scientific work, medical advances, political freedoms, philosophical thought, tolerance of other beliefs, plus harsh attitudes to womens education, homosexual people, black or coloured people and many more horrible customs.
Do muslim households have books other than the Quran ?
Rich muslim countries don’t exist unless they have oil. Even in oil rich countries literacy is extremely low compared to all non muslim societies e.g. 15% in Saudi Arabia. Muslim countries which educate women are all under attack from extremists – who become more the mainstream everyday.
Any society which becomes more islamic will be become steadily poorer. Islamic people can only become richer, safer and healthier in non muslim societies.
Big problems in the future for moslems because all their activities are leading to conflict everywhere they exist.
I hope that ordinary moslems, who are equal to the all the best people of the world, can wake up before its too late. I don’t think they will and I see terrible destruction being inflicted on them. The Holocaust is still within living memory.

I think you just about hit the nail on the head with this comment. All of what you say is a sad indictment of the way the Muslim world works. From childhood they are taught that the way of Allah is the the only way, and as you say, they are to a great extent suppressed by their religion. Compared to the rest of the world they are still living in the Dark Ages, but will they ever get out of it, I doubt it!

I’m back. I see many people claiming that Muslims don’t ‘condemn’ these violent attacks. Well, I’ll say it loud and clear; ‘These attacks are violent, barbaric and inhumane; the opposite of what our Prophet Muhammad has taught us.’
Now, getting to the point- Allah is an omnipotent being. Humans are humans, bound to commit sins and mistakes. Muslims are not Allah, and so they cannot be compared at all.
Also, the photos of a thousand Muslims do not represent 1.6 billion of the people. It’s as if I take a photo of Tamil Tigers and caption; ‘THE TRUE FACE OF HINDUISM’. I see many people identifying themselves as Christian; but they drink, eat pork, steal, and don’t love their neighbour at all. But do they represent Christianity? I guess not.

About the Christian beaten to death? I bet half of them have not heard this story: Our Prophet (PBUH) called out to some travelling priests to embrace Islam. They refused, and our Prophet said:
    To you is you religion,
    and to me, mine.

    • Hi Mahmoud,
Good to hear from you again. I thank you for your clear statement condemning the atricities carried out by terrorist groups. Sadly though you are one of the few. For years some Imams have been preaching hatred in the mosques for anything that is not Islamic, but it would seem few have the nerve to stand up and denounce these people. Abu Hamsa, Abu Qatada and Amjan Choudrey in Britian are prime examples.
I know that such violemce is not the way of Islam and I am the first to admit that Christians have been guilty of atrocities in the past. But we all live in the same world and we should be living in peace with one another.
The terror groups are without doubt a Muslim problem that should be solved by Muslims. I am sorry for all the tens of thousands who are fleeing violence and coming to Europe, but unless these terror groups are all killed peace will not return. May you be allowed to live in peace with your family.
      Best Regards,

Many Christians said their religion is Christian, but many of us didn’t practice Christians in our life. No matter how screw up Christians are, we never hate, especially not to other religion. Those who killed, are not real Christians, they are struggling within themselves – psychology and mental problem that they haven’t discover in themselves. Christians know what themselves did wrong and sinned, that’s why you rarely see Christians said it out loud that they’re Christians while doing all the wrong things. Some people wear a big cross on their neck yet still stealing and all that, we’ve seen it all. It’s between them and God, it is not for us to judge or condemn them.
For example, just take a random person. My friend’s born as Christian, but she told me she’s not a Christian. Because she never practice Christian’s life, it is not easy to practice 100% all the time, but we are trying – God is merciful. Before I understand my own religion, I never like to go to church, because there are so many Christians who go to church regularly yet are so resentful, unforgivable, and etc. Then in some point of my life, something made me wanted to know more about Jesus. When I understand more about my own religion and Jesus, then I realized those people who had condemned me had nothing to do with our religion. It is them who are struggling within themselves, and they are trying to be good and asking for God’s forgiveness.
Anyway, I was having the same question in my head ‘why muslims are so hateful’ with all the darkness that is happening to the world now, and that’s how I stumble upon this blog.

it sounds eerily like most Christians and their beliefs. I think it is the cult mentality. Keeps us all busy fighting each other though doesn’t it. Almost seems as if someone somewhere knew this would be a wonderful diversionary tactic and a very profitable way to keep wars going. Just goes to show “group think” is not always a wise decision. I don’t understand most of the hate in the world from all sides. I believe ultimately our narrow minded and fixed views will destroy all of us. How bout we leave them alone and they leave us alone. That’s what we teach our children to do. Not antagonize and keep the rhetoric going. Sounds a lot like political and religious propaganda to me. I don’t believe any Christian or Muslim is just like the next. I believe we all have the same goals to live a peaceful and comfortable existence in this world. Those few who make the most noise get the attention while millions are left to suffer the consequences.Hatred tends to blind us to any empathy for someone’s beliefs that differ from our own. Give it a rest. Our real enemies sit in the government. Lets clean house here before we take someone else’s inventory. We have definitely contributed to their hate of us. We killed and maimed millions of Iraqis for absolutely no reason. They did nothing. This idea should make more people mad and honestly we need to find some way to bridge this gap before it is completely out of hand.

    • Hi Wanda, good to hear from you.
I can agree with much of what you wrote for it would be nice if we did not antagonize each other, but with so many different faiths in the world there will always be someone who disagrees with an idea put forward.
Leaving the Muslims alone would certainly not solve our current issues for they, the terrorist groups, are religious fanatics and you can never talk to such people. World-wide polls have shown that while the average Muslim in the street will not take up arms, many do agree with the idea of turning the whole world Islamic, and therefore back the ideology of people like Islamic State.
Most casualties in this war have been Muslims because it is to a certain extent a fight between the two main tribes, Sunni and Shia, much like Catholics against C of E followers.
I do not consider our government should bear all the guilt because governments world-wide have the means to end this religious war through the United Nations, but they do not. Our government was ill advised to go into Iraq, but that is the fault of Tony Blair and George Bush of the United States. But now things have moved on and everyone is fighting a terrorist organization which is threatening world peace.

Yes, it is happening here too floroy1942. I’m living in MALAYSIA, a very small country compared to US or UK, and our government is SECRETLY or somehow openly doing this to our citizens. They FORCE those who are in certain universities to convert to Islam. Also, our government TRIED to takeover some of our small schools from the rural once, with the intention of turning the school and all the students into muslim. Thank God, we managed to saved the school from donations.

It is true that while most Muslims do not wish to openly fight they still want the world to be Islamic. That will never happen of course, and the coming years will see more struggles between Muslims and non-Muslims.
It is time for the United Nations to take on these terrorist groups and crush them so that ordinary Muslims are not persuaded to try and convert the world. I am sorry to hear of the problems in your country, and I wish the Malaysian people luck in their fight against Islam.

    Hey Roy,

As an Indian living in the city of Mumbai with a large muslim population, I can assert the following confidently in both answering your questions and highlighting key points.
    1) Muslims for the most part, blindly follow their faith. They neither properly understand the meaning of what they recite nor do they attempt to clarify or seek the truth behind a recited sermon.
    2) When it comes to religion, muslims tend to be extremely rigid. They will never tolerate any sort of dissent with regards to their religious tenets from even their own family members whom they would condemn to death for the same and as such, it shouldn’t surprise a non-muslim when they appear ever more eager to persecute them for alleged ‘blasphemy’.
    3) Rationality and reasoning have no room in the thought process when the first two points have been considered and as such, the very process of thought has not just been stifled, but actually has been killed.
    4) All humans are alike, both in their instincts to do good and evil.
However, muslims are thought to differentiate between good and evil based on the teachings of their holy book which is wrought with prejudices and violence, both which according to the texts appear to be more of generic and rudimentary as against contemporary teachings.
As such, rationality takes a beating again even after it’s demise and in the process, a perfectly normal individual with the potential to grow up to be a citizen with modern core values instead (in extreme cases) degenerates into an unconscionable being with no remorse for the suffering of the other (non-muslim)

    • Hi DHIF,
Welcome, and thanks for the comment. I read it with interest and it seems you have described the situation perfectly. I have often thought the whole religion of Islam is so designed as to allow a select few to rule while the rest follow blindly. These people are indoctrinated from birth and throughout their childhood, and are given no choice in the path they will follow through life. If that is the only way a religion can survive then it is very sad.

Well, the harrowing truth is this: Islam is a political ideology cloaked as a religion, and the purpose of Islam is – yes you guessed it – world wide domination and genocide on all non-Moslems. That’s what Islam stands for practically and theoretically, empirically, historically and theologically speaking.

The violent actions of Islam ARE the true face of Islam. “Taqqiya” is a Word commonly used by Moslems. “Taqqiya” means “lies” or “deception”. You received a comment from a Moslem who said that Islam is peaceful and that the violent acts of the terrorists do not represent Islam. He is willfully lying to you. Neither their words nor their deeds are peaceful and the Koran, provived people read it, and many Moslems are illiterate people, will reveal in “all its glory” the true face of the real Islam – devoid of any makeup, Moslem “taqqiyas”, Western wishful thinking or Western political correctness.

The word “Islam” means “submission”. That means Moslems and non-Moslems are expected by the Koran and its teachings, to be totally submissive to the Islamic creed.
The best proof that Islam is less of a religion or a spiritual path, and more of a political ideology, is that Islam concerns itself first and foremost, with the organization of the state – the rulers and their subjects, the relationship between a man and a woman and the relationship between parents and their children. Islam rarely speaks of spirituality and Islam eschews intellectualism, science or the quest of the truth, since the “only truth” is Islam. No wonder why Moslem countries are so primitive and underdeveloped.

As far as democracy and human rights are concerned: Islam cannot in any shape or form ever be united and combined with Western Democracy. It simply won’t happen and cannot happen for Islamic theological reasons that I will touch upon step by step. Islam and Western Democracy cannot coexist. Empirically – this is true – not a single Moslem country is a Western Liberal Democracy. People who refer to Turkey as a “democracy” are dishonest, since the secular Turkish army has in effect been ruling the modern Turkish nation state for decades and the modern theocratic Islamic nutcase – Turkish President Erdogan, has effectively and gradually eroded what was left of the actual human righs that Turkish Citizens – Turks, Jews, Kurds and others, actually had.

Theologically speaking: The Koran is, according to the Moslems, the final word of their god. It means nothing – absolutely nothing – not even a single page, sentence, word or letter can ever be questioned. It means the Koran is no restaurant menu. A true Moslem cannot say: “Ok, I like this part of the Koran but not the other part and I will adapt and change my Moslem faith in order to make it consistent and compatible with Western Democracy”. This can’t happen, because any “adapations” or “modifications” of Islam, means Islam is no longer Islam. A true Moslem takes the Koran LITERALLY. Why?

    Two (2) reasons:
    1) Islam is factually and theologically very contradictory and the truth is that Moslems cannot intellectually or theologically, defend their Islamic creed. Rationally – it is impossible, given all the contradictions in their “holy book”, and no creator god would be able to contradict himself. The Koran is clearly written by humans and not by their “god”.
    2) Theologically, the Koran is the final word of god, which means they can’t and aren’t allowed to question the Koran. That’s why they systematicaly resort to the sword and physically attack and bully intellectually and morally honest and independent people who do their own thinking and that’s why Moslems refuse to attend interfaith discussions with Jewish Rabbis and Christian Priests. The most promiment example is when the previous Pope – Pope Benedict XVI wanted a dialogue with the Moslems – promiment Moslem leaders, and they refused.

Human relationships and the relationship with the Creator:

Islam does not even recognize the individual nature of an individual human being – let alone accepts any individual freedom or integrity. Islam considers the collective as the basis of all life and every human being is expected to become a faceless mindless “robot”, devoid of any individual human identity, thought or will – except for the “identity” the Moslem society arbitrarily allots to you. Every person is expected to follow the masses. In this sense, Islam is very similar to Nazism, Fascism and Communism. The only ones that aren’t expected to follow the masses are the rulers. That’s exactly what Islam believes in and promotes at the very theological core and DNA of the Islamic creed. According to Islam, its not the Creator that gives you human rights – it’s the earthly rulers that arbitrarily decide to do so. A Moslem family is a “mini-state” where the husband and father “rules” his “state” – i.e. the family – his wife and children. In Islam it is the absolute earthly ruler that determines the (arbitrary) criteria according to which people should be treated.

In order to understand Islam even better, from a purely psychological Point of view, you should read a legendary book called “The True Believer” by the American-German author Eric Hoffer. On page 94 you can read: “Whence come these unreasonable hatreds, and why their unifying effect? They are an expression of a desperate effort to suppress an awareness of our inadequacy, worthlessness, guilt and other shortcomings of the self. Self-contempt is here transmuted into hatred of others – and there is a most determined and persistent effort to mask this switch. Obviously, the most effective way of doing this is to find others, as many as possible, who hate as we do (my comment: it explains why Moslems recruit new haters from accross the globe, on the Internet). Here more than anywhere else we need general consent, and much of our proselytizing consists perhaps in infecting others not with our brand of faith but with our particular brand of unreasonable hatred.”

On page 95 – the very same book by Mr Hoffer: “That hatred springs more from self-contempt than from a legitimate grievance is seen in the intimate connection between hatred and a guilty conscience. There is perhaps no surer way of infecting ourselves with virulent hatred toward a person than by doing him a grave injustice. That others have a just grievance against us is a more potent reason for hating them than that we have a just grievance against them. We do not make people humble and meek when we show them their guilt and cause them to be ashamed of themselves. We are more likely to stir their arrogance and rouse in them a reckless aggressiveness. Self-righeousness is a loud din raised to drown the voice of guilt within us. There is a guilty conscience behind every brazen word and act and behind every manifestation of self-righteousness.”

On page 98 (The True Believer, by Eric Hoffer): “Passionate hatred can give meaning and purpose to an empty life. Thus people haunted by the purposelessness of their lives try to find a new content not only by dedicating themselves to a holy cause but also by nursing a fanatical grievance. A mass movement (my comment: such as Islam) offers them unlimited opportunities for both.”

ISLAM IS A POLITICAL MASS MOVEMENT. That’s what it truly is.

    Let’s talk more about spirituality:

Judaism and Christianity teach us that men and women were created in the image of the Creator Himself, and that each and every human being has a direct and personal relationship with God, and that no earthly authority has any right whatsoever, to violate the democratic, civil and human rights of any human being. That’s exactly the basis of Western civilization – Judeo-Christian beliefs have shaped the very identity and freedoom of the Western world.
That forms the basis of the American Constitution.

The concept of having a direct relationship with God is alien to Moslems and the Koran since they believe “Allah” stands above any human relationship. No Moslem can have any personal relationship with God since the very theological basis of Islam forbids it. Furthermore, Islam does say that “Allah” is a fickle and arbitrary “god” that demans tribute, blind obedience and submission. Human beings are expected to love “Allah” in order to avoid his fickle, arbitrary anger and wrath and lust for punishment, but

What does the Koran say about Jews, Christians and non-Moslems and non-belivers: It says explicitly in the Koran that non-believers and non-Moslems should be killed because they don’t accept the paradigm and creed of Islam – yes it’s harrowing and scary – I know, but that is the truth and no amount of Moslem denial or whitewash can change that.

Islam is theologically speaking NOT related to Judaism and Christianity, and the Moslem god is not the Creator God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, rather “Allah” is pagan Arab deity which the Arabs worshipped before the existence of Islam. Arabs and Moslems have a tendency of rewriting history, but Abraham was called Abraham, since he was Jewish and his name is Hebrew. He could obviously not be called “Ibrahim”.

And why do Moslems specifically hate the Jews? Because the Moslems, or should I say specifically the Arabs, want to replace the Jews as the Chosen People and the Arabs want to replace the Hebrew and Christian Bible with the Koran.

Islam has threatened and haunted mankind for 1400 years. Unlike Nazism, Fascism and Communism, Islam is allowed in Western countries, for reasons of freedom of religious practice. The problem however is that Islam attacks the very freedom that makes its existence possible in the free Western World.

Just like Nazism, Fascism and Communism are despicable, Islam is despicable too and the majority of the human race must fight Islam with all their might. Islam belongs where Nazism and Communism belong – in the trash heap of history.

There is a guilt conscience behind every brazen Word and act and behind every manifestation of self-righteousness.”

On page 98 (The True Believer, by Eric Hoffer): “Passionate hatred can give meanikng and purpose to an empty Life. Thus people haunted by the purposelessness of their lives try to find a new content not only by dedicating themselves to a holy cause but also by nursing a fanatical grievance. A mass movement (my comment: such as Islam) offers them unlimited opportunities for both.

Arabs and Moslems have tendency of rewriting history, but Abraham was called Abraham, since he was Jewish and his name is Hebrew.

Unlike Nazism, Fascism and Communism, Islam is allowed in Western countries, for reasons of freedom of religion. The problem however is that Islam attacks the very freedom that makes its existence possible in the free Western World.

    • Hi John,
Thank you for your comment, it is certainly an eye-opener! You seem to have gone into the subject deeply, certainly more than I have, and your views are interesting. I think just about everyone knows that Islam is a barbaric religion that is followed blindly, for it is true that Muslims do not question their faith. I do think however you may have over-stated somewhat that Islam is a religion based on hate, but it is more political than religious today. I blame the clerics who control the masses and feed their minds with blind obedience. Currently we have what could be called a ‘religious war’, for as you say Muslims want to control the world. They never will of course but while they try many thousands are dying.
I do agree that some of the so-called ‘moderate’ Muslims secretly support the terrorist groups and what they are trying to achieve. This has been brought to light by the PEW Report that questioned 135,000 Muslims world-wide, but in the end they will all be disappointed. As I have stated many times in previous posts, it is time for the world to come together and stamp out these terrorist groups, then maybe we can all live in peace once again.
      Best Regards,
      Roy.

    Dear Roy
May these lines find you and your family with all well. I came across your article, If Allah Is Merciful, Then Why Do Muslims Hate So Much? today while searching some thing else. It is an interesting and thought provoking. Dear Roy first of all let me permit to say that creator of universe including human is just one God, muslims call it Allah.
The mercy of Allah Amighty encompsses all His creation. When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His book which is with Him on His throne, “My mercy has overcome My anger.” and

“When Allah created the heavens and the earth, he created one hundred mercies, each one can cover what is between the earth and the heaven. He allocated to the earth only one, with which the mother is compassionate with her child; the beast and the bird are compassionate with their babies. When the Day of Judgment comes, Allah will complete His mercy.”

Brother Roy Allah,s mercy is even beyond our imagination. Allah Almighty sent Messengers for our guidance. The muslims believe and worship only one God and they believe all Holy sciptures and all Messengers including Adam, Ibrahim, Jacob, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah Amighty be upon all of them).

Prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah Amighty be upon him).
“Allah will not have mercy on the one who does not have mercy on people.”

The incidents you mentioned above are all condemnable and do not represent the true image of Islam. My dear Roy it would not just to judge a religion on the basis of few wrong doers and you shall find these types of people in Hinduism, Judaism and Christianty. My feeling about you is that you are good human being and in search of truth. You can find the truth if you read the Holy Scriptures with open mind and heart and praying your God, mine Gord and God of all Universe. My all best wishes and pray are with you that find the real truth.

    • Hi Muhammad and welcome,
Thank you for your comment. I always appreciate hearing the views of the Muslim brethren, especially when they can shed light on the workings of Islam. You are of course perfectly right in what you say and I appreciate it very much. In any religion there are people who will corrupt the teachings of God for their own ends, and this is surely true in Christianity as in any other faith. It is sad that in the western world religion is losing its power to do good.
I have always believed that the barbarity among Muslims these days, Islamic State, al Quada etc, has nothing to do with the basic religion of Islam, but is more the lust for power these individuals have. I will stand by my statement that many are turned to violence by the radical Muslim clerics who twist the Islamic Faith for their own ends.
It is interesting to note that a couple of days after I wrote this post a cleric in the village was arrested for planting pages of the Qu’ran on the girl with the purpose of inciting the Muslim villagers into action against the Christian community. He even went so far as to admit to the police that he was trying to incite more hatred against the Christian community among his people.
The one thing I find sad is that ordinary Muslims who go to the Mosque to pray and hear the teachings of these clerics do not denounce them to the authorities for sedition. I have to say that were I a good Muslim and the cleric started telling everyone that they should fight against the ‘infidel’, i.e. non-Muslims, I would stand up and denounce him as an evil man for I know this is not Islam. Sadly, no-one does this.
I hope I have explained myself well enough and that you understand. My best wishes to you and your family.
      Best Regards,
      Roy.

I am a Christian who stands strong in her faith. I married a Muslim 5 weeks ago. I knew him long distance for 2-1/2 years. He was always so sweet and kind. We spent so many hours discussing our beliefs. He was open minded and understanding. He said we would be able to live our lives together, never insulting the other for our differences, never pressing the other to convert. We met and stayed 9 days together in Turkey to get to know each other better. His respect and tenderness there was impressive. We applied for a K1 fiance visa and went through the long, difficult process. At long last, he was granted the visa! He arrived in the USA and we married 3 days later. Since that time, he’s changed into someone I don’t know. This person is what I would call an Islamic Extremist. He rants about the one, true rightness of Islam and the destruction of all who won’t covert. He wants me to send my children to live with their father and wants us to move away from my community as quickly as possible. He’s determined I’m going to leave everyone I know and convert right away. He says he can’t tolerate my faith and will leave me if I don’t change. My Dad just passed away and my husband told me he went to Hell for being a Christian, I will do the same and ALL Christians who won’t turn away from the evil of Christianity. The abusive rants and the Islamic “boot camping” are becoming intolerable. We’ll be divorcing soon.

    • Hi Linda,
Thank you for your comment, and I am so sorry to hear of your harrowing experience. From the comments on this post you can see you are not alone. I must admit that such an attitude is not uncommon, for a friend of ours who lives in Romania is going through a similar experience. Although not insisting she convert or damning her religion, he leaves her and the two children with no money and does nothing to help her. As in your case, it seems fair to say that the only thing they want is a visa, and will do anything to get it.
I am glad to hear you are getting divorced for the sake of your happiness, for I am sure you deserve better. Though I will not judge all Muslims the same, there are without doubt those who are prepared to do anything for their twisted idea of what the Islamic religion stands for.
I wish you much success in your life and hope you find a man who can really make you happy.

I was a girl who was raised in a Pakistani family, but not in Pakistan. I was raised in peace and barely any criticism of my religion known to me. I recently started to research into my country, as I missed it. I came upon articles of Christians. in school we had learned about 2% of the total population of Pakistan being Christian or Hindu. I thought they lived near the border of Pakistan and India peacefully. soon, my uncle visited and I out of curiosity asked him about Christians living in Pakistan, thinking they were people who came to Pakistan for study or work, not of the full blood. it is known as the Islamic republic and I thought who would bother with another religion? he told me about how they were people who were brought to an idea of peace by Christianity similar to how Muslims converted to Hinduism generations ago. He told me abut how they were sadly looked upon, and he was against the idea if harassing them. I was suddenly very interested, and wondered things like do they act like us? do they wear scarfs? how are they socially? do they generally live with us? I decided to look it up. at first I thought they must be bullied, but no more than that. then I saw the true colors of my people, and how they treated the Christians. in the USA, majority of my friends are Christian and I was just schocked!! how cruel! I cannot even speak of what happened to them, it saddens me. it also made me curious, why don’t they get out of Pakistan? but why should they, I mean their forefathers were born there, it’s their blood. every Christian cannot just leave! it made tears come to my eyes and I am still shocked. I talked to my friends who are Muslims, some of them were aware of the problem also. we had long discussions about it and I couldn’t even think straight in my class that day, just so distracted, I went home and asked my parents questions, and they told me about how when we visited Pakistan, out knokors, or maids/servants were majority Christian. when I visited, they were oh so nice, and as I went through story after story of Christian killings, I got quite sorry, as they never did anything wrong, I continue to think about this everyday, but I want you to know that many of us Muslims don’t mind other religions. we find it ok to be with the people, many of my best friends aren’t my religion. just know that everyone has a different mindset depending on how they were raised, and the people who attack Christians have no thought of mind, and believe too harshly. everyone has to be perfect In their eyes, to the Pakistani Christians, I want you to know how much I care for you and pray you will he safe one day.

    • Hi Zarah,
My apologies for the late reply and thank you for taking the time to comment on the blog, I really appreciate it. I am sorry that many Muslims do not feel as you do. Muslims and Christians lived side by side in peace for centuries but with the coming of bin Laden and his al Quada the world has been turned on his head. All the troubles in all countries can be traced back to this one man and his group of murderers. They have sown the seeds of hate and insurrection among many Muslims who have followed them blindly. In many countries Christian communities have become the target for Muslim hate through no fault of their own.
From your statement, it is clear you are a Muslim who is more than willing to live in peace with other religions, as are many others, and that is to your great credit. I know there are many who feel as you do. For myself, I would like to see all such people stand up and denounce the violence and murder from the rooftops. Muslim clerics who are responsible for spreading the hatred in Mosques should be denounced by those who attend. It is a sad fact that this is a Muslim problem, and only Muslims can solve it. I wish you luck and continued good health. I am sure Allah will approve of your stance on this topic.

      Roy.

I judge by action, not word. Based on that criteria it is clear that Muslims hate so much because of their hateful religion of jihad. Their words are not just meaningless, their words, like themselves, are outright lies. Their so called founder was himself a warlord. They have declared war on us all, and its high time we recognize this and acknowledge they are the enemy of all mankind!

I agree that the Quran is not just a book of peace, for many of its pages can be construed as incitement to murder those who ‘do not believe’. Those who wish for a Muslim world are using these pages to foster hate for anything non-Muslim, and therein lies the problem.

    • Hi MH and Welcome,
I think the Muslim faith is divided into two camps. One is the rank and file who are not necessarily filled with hate, but are content to say and do nothing about the jihadists, who are the other half. The jihadists themselves are influenced by people like al Quada and the hate preachers who for their own ends are stoking the violence and converting impressionable young men over to the jihadist camp. How many times have we heard of people like Abu Qatada who was known to have convinced the ‘Underpants’ bomber to commit his attempted act of murder. Clerics hold a high position in Islam and many of these hate preachers see themselves as powerful, and want to be more so.
I agree that it is time for the people of the west to recognise the danger presented by these people and concentrate their efforts to wipe them out.
      Best Regards,
      Roy.

    • Hi Noura,
So nice to hear from you, I am always happy to hear the opinions of Muslims. As to your comment, I have to say that you are exactly right. I have done some research into Islam and it all points to the fact that the greater majority of people are peace-loving and kind, much like other faiths. I am fully aware that the teachings of Islam are for peace, tolerance, love and respect, like the Christian faith, but sad to say, many people do not follow such a path.
For example, there is a huge difference between Muslims living in your country of Saudi Arabia and those in Pakistan, for Pakistani Muslims have become radicalized by what I call ‘rogue’ priests who preach hatred, and fill empty heads with the notion that ‘Islam Will Rule the World”! They whip up crowds against Christians and we have trouble as in the case of the fourteen-year-old girl in my post. It is useful to note that the cleric in question was eventually arrested by the police himself for planting the evidence. Clerics like Abu Hamsa and Abu Qatada in Britain, have preached hatred and enlisted volunteers for the Taliban and al Quada for more than ten years. They, and many like them are driven by hatred and not compassion.
If the teachings of the Qu’ran are to have any meaning, true Muslims must stand together and tell such people: “We will not listen to you anymore, for you are evil”, and subsequently put them out of business, for they are the purveyors of hatred, at least in my humble opinion.
There is in Pakistan, and many other countries, a real hatred for anything that is not Muslim, and these people must learn to accept the Qu’ran for what it is, a message of peace and love. My apologies for the delay in posting your comment, which I greatly appreciate.
      Best Regards,
      Roy.

    Dear Roy

You have surely raised some good questions. I am not answering them here and am just posting thoughts. What happened with 11 or 14 year old Pakistani maybe Christian girl was definitely wrong and we have all criticised it. There are some elements in Pakistan like also elsewhere who have misinterpreted the essence and true meaning of Islam and have thus gone astray. Muslim countries such as Pakistan have various issues as lack of education, dictatorship, corruption etc. And the bulk of population in these countries is poor who are extremely angry with their own national political setup. They have only seen and experienced injustice and that is how they behave. It has nothing to do with Islam and it’s teachings or Allah being an unkind or merciless god. An uneducated person who has no formal or even casual education of Islam or Quran cannot and should not be misunderstood to be a representat I’ve of Islam. And that is more than the bulk of Pakistani population. And to make things worse west especially America has always backed rather encouraged dictators in Muslim countries.

    Like

    • Hi One Nine,
Glad you could drop by! You are right in much of what you say, for the poor are one side of Islam, but no matter what religion you are there will always be the rich/poor divide. However, this does not explain the hatred among many sections of the Muslim world for non-Muslims. Sure, people are poor and uneducated but they grow up in a Muslim culture and are not completely ignorant of the Quran and the main message of peace. On the subject of the poor, it amazes me that Pakistan, just like India, can afford a nuclear deterrant but cannot feed its people. Is it not a basic crede in the Quran that Muslims are bound to help the less fortunate?
I agree with your statement about dictators, it is a sad fact of life but has nothing to do with the inner beliefs of good Muslims who follow the true path of Islam. I believe the biggest problem in the Muslim world is the radicalization of good Muslims by clerics who have twisted the words of the Quran to make it mean something else. Many of them are no more than recruiting agents for the radicals and we have prime examples in Britain in Abu Quatada and Abu Hamsa. To stop the cycle of violence the people need to totally reject these clerics, throw them out of the mosques and ensure no-one listens to them, but sad to say, this will not happen as more people fall under their spell and more Muslims become radicalized.
      Best Regards,
      Roy.

    • Hi Ash,
Nice to hear from you. Since this post was written the Pakistani authorities have determined that the girl is in fact a minor aged 14. The question of her mental condition is still undetermined, and although some have speculated that she has Downes Syndrome, this is not yet established. There can however be no doubt that she is mentally impaired and the authorities have said her mental age is well below that of a 14 year-old, and she is also uneducated. Rumours or not, I think there can be little doubt about the disgraceful way this whole saga has developed.
